Just watched the game again and have to say first half both were pens, second half looked a pen too. Young can't keep up with the pace of the game, it's absolutely baffling how he gets picked every week.
We needed that win today, but let's not kid ourselves this was still another poor display.
And for those who say just enjoy the moment. I can't, it terrifies me the way this guy sets the team up, week in week out it never changes.
Dreading Wednesday already.

22 Apr 2024 13:19:43
You and me both.

21 Apr 2024 19:18:58
Was that Andy Hinchcliffe having a personal vendetta against Everton and handball decisions? he was so wrong, hands in wrong position etc he's played the game and you know you cannot control every movement!
Best result is NFFC officially calling the var operative a cheat!

21 Apr 2024 20:13:09
I agree they would of been harsh if they had been given but it wouldn't of shocked me either if they had been.

21 Apr 2024 20:20:48
Think all 3 were pens, be fuming if it was other way round, don't like the handball one but in today's game it's a pen, other 2 no question for me.

We've had our fair share of poor reffing and VAR decisions, but again the integrity of the game is once again brought into question, made up for the win as a Everton fan but as a football fan the games full of corruption.

{Ed025's Note - spot on Mocker mate..

21 Apr 2024 20:53:28
Definite pens, but what goes around comes around and with the amount of appalling decisions against this season will take this win and happily move on,

21 Apr 2024 21:53:41
Don't blame Forest for calling VAR out, but happy with the win. I'm taking it as payback for all the wrong decisions that have gone against us.

21 Apr 2024 21:23:19
Of course GB, but to have 3 big calls in a game like that and not to even be looked at in this age of VAR and scrutiny and for Forest to pre game question the VAR official before the game with his alliance to Luton just shows just shows how much corruption is within the game that for me runs football, we all moan and have had our fair share but 3 in a game is scandalous and serious questions of football officials asked again.

The win more than likely gets us safe, anything from the Derby would be a bonus.

Was made up for Mcneil, you could tell with celebrations and team mates his personal problems have weighed heavy.

21 Apr 2024 21:50:59
Don’t think the first 2 were pens - third one probably but would need to see it from a different angle to confirm.

However not sure why anyone is bothered as none were given and we came away with all 3 points.

Nice to finally end up benefitting from potential VAR errors as we know we’ve had our fair share go against us.

Think the tweet by Forest official account is ridiculous though - what do they genuinely expect to achieve? All I can see is refs being even stricter against them.

{Ed025's Note - take it from me Dan, all 3 were stonewall pens mate..

21 Apr 2024 22:37:57
I think 2 were pens and one maybe (wouldn't have been overturned if ref gave it) . That said it this instance Forest are confusing corrupting for ineptitude by both PGMOL and reffing team. In the old days it would be brushed off as it evens itself out over a season.

21 Apr 2024 22:49:58
Young is a disaster waiting to happen. The hand ball one would have been harsh but the other two he went through the back of the player or tackled from behind in the box. The guy is suppose to be a professional and even my five year old understands you’ll likely give away a pen for that. Stupid tackles, just utterly stupid.

They could easily have had two pens out of that. Dodgy VAR going in our favour for once. It takes the shine of the win completely. What a farce.

22 Apr 2024 01:50:42
The last was definitely a penalty and VAR should have overturned the referee's decision as clear and obvious error ie ref thought he got the ball but he didn't
the first could have been but is one that VAR should keep out of it as a judgement call, ref knew there was contact but decided there wasn't enough for a penalty.
the handball definitely not a penalty, ball to hand.

22 Apr 2024 03:28:06
First two were not clear and obvious errors however the third one was a stone wall penalty. Young is a liability and needs to be left at home on game day.

22 Apr 2024 05:48:37
Agree with WT, handball at beginning of season would have been given but tightened since so correct decision. The second, the lad had already planted his foot before he decided to go down as an after thought, so no! . Certainly both nowhere near stonewall. The one that was a certain was Young through the back of the lad, a blind persons dog would have sat down on the spot and refused to move. For VAR to seemingly agree with the ref is baffling. A truly independent regulator in Prem football is sorely needed.

22 Apr 2024 07:59:45
It’s like watching MOTD2….

22 Apr 2024 08:26:23
It's not really the point which 1 or 2 were and were not pens. All the same player and all if against us, we'd be screaming out for a rigged against Everton narrative. It's not something we need to risk with Godfrey on the bench. I know he's not been same since his leg bit I thought he was playing ok this season when he's been in team. I wonder what he's done to get benched?

22 Apr 2024 18:26:55
I disagree Gingerdan. I remember klopp came out after the spurs game where VAR made a blunder. Klopp mentioned in his press conference that it was a mistake and perhaps the game should be replayed. It was him playing mind games and for the next month or so, liverpool seemed to get a lot of favourable decisions go their way. It was almost like refs were told not to give anything against then. Maybe Forest coming out with that tweet will have the same affect for them for their remaining fixtures. Just a theory.

21 Apr 2024 18:06:29
Why did we let Simms go Impressive against Man Utd. Much better than any of our options.

21 Apr 2024 19:19:19
3 goals in 2 games against prem opposition. That's as many had Beto has in the prem all season .

21 Apr 2024 19:20:30
I always said the boy was ok he would score more than Beto we sold him cheap but I would blame the manager there he had him but didn’t want him!

{Ed025's Note - im afraid Ellis would not have helped us wakka, Dyche has our centre forward ploughing a lone furrow with no support or team mate to lay off to mate, even Haaland could,nt help us with this dinosaur in charge..

21 Apr 2024 20:01:42
In a nutshell ed.

21 Apr 2024 22:39:18
Yep. Just look at Maupay.

21 Apr 2024 22:50:50
Would you take Moyes if he became free in the summer Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - i have never been a Moyes fan BR and i think he treated the club very badly when he left mate so no, is he a better option than SD?..yes..

22 Apr 2024 08:00:14
That’s setting the bar low Ed.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid its the club who have set that bar mate..

21 Apr 2024 15:37:20
Good win this well chuffed.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 15:50:15
Yes mate, good win, but lol.

21 Apr 2024 16:11:14
3. Clear cut penalties from Young for them, guess we got lucky for once mate.

{Ed025's Note - dead lucky GB..

21 Apr 2024 16:17:32
Even I say we got lucky there, bloody hell Young is a liability mate.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely GB, but hes not the problem mate...its the guy who picks him week in week out..

21 Apr 2024 16:20:15
Pleased we won. Worried we won’t have a striker fit for the next few games though!

What happened to Beto? Just a collision?

{Ed025's Note - bad clash of heads BR, stretchered off but did give the thumbs up as he was being carted off mate..

21 Apr 2024 16:28:55
I've said it before, I'm convinced Young has got something written in his contract about starting games when available. Or he's got photos of Dyche suckin off a horse.
He's garbage and can't understand why he's in the squad nevermind the starting eleven.

21 Apr 2024 16:30:54
So so lucky! My word Young is frighteningly bad. 3 crucial points though.

21 Apr 2024 17:48:37
Did anyone see the statement from Forest about the VAR operative being a Luton fan? If so, it makes a complete mockery, once again, of the system.

Young shouldn’t play again for this club. Idiot could (and should) have cost us the game.

21 Apr 2024 18:20:34
Have to beat Luton and Sheff Utd or not lose and we should be okay.

21 Apr 2024 19:01:30
Came out of Hospital last night was in Bed 12A. Then we win today! Only saying.

21 Apr 2024 19:50:14
After all the decisions that have gone against us this and last season we DESERVED those breaks today, and tbf we are due a barrel or two load more.

By no means we out the woods, but one step closer. Smiling evertonians in this household and all looking forward first MOTD in 5 months. COYB.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid i couldn,t watch that again S&G, once is more than enough of that tripe mate..

21 Apr 2024 15:32:58
Massive 3 points today well done lads. hope beto is ok ?. Forest are a poor team. the result is all that matters today. And another 3 points on Wednesday would be nice??.

21 Apr 2024 14:51:23
Dyche needs to make changes, NF on top now. Gomes, Doucoure and Young off for Garner, Onana/ Warrington and Godfrey.

21 Apr 2024 14:48:57
Ashley Young has committed 3 fouls that could easily been penalties.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 22:40:40
Shhh don't think Forest noticed.

21 Apr 2024 14:46:17
What does Dyche see in training to keep putting Young in the starting XI?
We could easily be losing this game because of him.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 16:06:44
Absolutely! Great result on paper but another day and that's 3 penalties certainly 2. We deserved the football gods to smile on our attempts and 2 long rangers both in off the posts are a sign something was smiling on us. Definitely gives us a lift. 1 more win is probably all we need now. Only thing that seriously got to me was watching Dyche constantly playing with his nose and rubbing it in his goatie and scalp. His tics are getting out of hand.

{Ed025's Note - first of all 3 points was the aim and job done in that respect, now to the game itself...bloody awful performance, poor selections, poor game management, and got very very lucky that the referee and VAR are cheats, we will stay up but can anyone say they want to watch that pile of crap next season?, sack the manager get rid of a lot of the players and start from scratch i say..

21 Apr 2024 20:53:17
Absolutely in agreement ed. It was yet another tough watch but the ending does make a happy change. Even so it's not something I want to see week in week out for 2/ 3rds of a year next season. We must part ways at end of season. We not only can't trust him to develop his tactics, we can't trust him to be involved in any player sales / additions.

{Ed025's Note - the thing is FBS is that we all know that with him at the helm the cycle will continue next season, now i dont want this to sound like a witch hunt against SD but i do really fear for the future of this club mate, the direction is wrong the tactics are wrong and the players are not buying into it, for me we need to move on Jarrad and Onana and use that money to rebuild the squad with young hungry players who will respect the shirt even if they are not of the highest quality.
A lot of the present squad also need to move on and we start from scratch with a new manager and a core of players who will entertain us even if we dont win the majority of our games as long as they wear the shirt with pride, it sounds simple doesn,t it, but we have to do something to change this culture that has brought this great club to its knees..rant over..

22 Apr 2024 00:08:18
Singing to the choir 25.

{Ed025's Note - i am mate..

21 Apr 2024 13:27:57
I wonder after the result today dyche mentions trying to change the narrative of the club. Predictable and boring like his team and tactics.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 15:39:22
Look at the score mate.

21 Apr 2024 16:59:07
Least he put his tracksuit on.

21 Apr 2024 13:26:14
Cmon let's win the Astrixs derby and calm the nerves.

21 Apr 2024 12:44:52
SD still here so won't be going the old lady once again, and looking at that line up not even bothering turning the TV on.

{Ed025's Note - i will turn on the TV Skylark...but i could be turning it off quite quickly i expect mate..

21 Apr 2024 12:58:04
I’ve not gone today give my brother my tickets got my lads party at 2-30 so will catch the first half
I’m dreading it with that line up
Can’t wait to go sit with 20 screaming kids instead that’s how bad it’s getting.

21 Apr 2024 14:00:05
Nice sunny day. Off out for a walk in a mo rather than watching the usual weekend nomarks.

21 Apr 2024 15:03:19
