PSR Regulations

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, PSR Regulations

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 09:27:52
Thanks for this Ed001, really helpful. been wanting to ask for ages about PSR Regualtions (as I do really striggle to understand it) but did not want to invoke the wrath of Ed002 lol.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. I have been meaning to write this for ages too. Just had a lot on my plate and not had time to get stuck in. It is complex and we don't get access to all the info to figure out the truth of it ourselves, but at least if you have some kind of knowledge of what it involves you can understand what is going on to a degree.}

19 Mar 2024 09:46:48
Excellent post Ed001. Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - thank you BB. I hope it helps a bit at least.}

19 Mar 2024 13:19:07
Very good post Ed001 Thanks?.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Mocker.}

19 Mar 2024 16:10:17
Where did you get the fact that Evreton owner is just a front for a Russian oligarch, bet it wasn't the PL website eh ed as they sanctioned the purchase.

{Ed001's Note - that was my point, they should not have sanctioned it. The evidence was out there if they bothered to look. It would have saved Everton a lot of mess if they had blocked that sale. Even if it had then ended up in Usmanov's hands, it would have been sold quickly on like Chelsea and you would have been in a much better position. The Prem let Everton down badly.}

19 Mar 2024 16:14:02
Thanks Ed001. I have two question though.
1) Are the clubs audited or are the profit and loss etc. information given on a voluntary basis?
2) The Premier League is currently determining if the 777 operation is a suitable owner (not sure if that is the correct wording) . Was a similar process used when Moshiri purchased most of Kenwright's shares and if so, when it was obvious to all of us that it was a front, was it allowed to go ahead?

{Ed001's Note - 1. The clubs run their own audit and provide their accounting figures. But the Prem has the power to demand to look at the books.
2. The process has become more thorough since then. But you are still right to question why it was allowed to go ahead when the information was freely available. A number of investigative journalists actually put the info into the public domain but the Prem chose to ignore it.}

19 Mar 2024 16:45:30
Spot on Ed the PL let Everton down and continue to do so.

19 Mar 2024 17:16:13
A respectful exchange of football related chat. Refreshing.

19 Mar 2024 17:38:55
Excellent read Ed thanks for that mate.

{Ed001's Note - cheers GB!}

19 Mar 2024 18:45:01
How nice to see an ed not getting abusive and understanding to a posters question. I have learnt more from 001s replies than others.

19 Mar 2024 19:46:58
Thank's Ed001, appreciate the reply. I like many who were born and raised in Liverpool came from a mixed marriage. Nothing to do with religion but my Dad's family were Blue and my Mum's family were Red. In those days it led a lot of fun banter, sometimes these days people forget those from Liverpool are all Scouser's and should be proud of it and stick together. We have enough outsiders who are happy to put us down, without doing it to each other.
Mike.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome Mike. Everton has given employment as well as enjoyment to a number of my family members, so I hate to see it in this mess for their sake. The banter is not fun when someone's livelihood is at risk.}

20 Mar 2024 12:58:19
Brilliant read thanks ed 001.

{Ed001's Note - cheers andy, really hope it helps.}

What a great read that was ED001…… and not an ounce of sarcasm, scorn or disrespect . ???? one other could learn a lot from you mate. Cheers for the insight.

19 Mar 2024 07:42:07
Fellani playing twice? We’d be strong in the air.

19 Mar 2024 11:20:41
Southall,
Coleman, Jagielka, Branthwaite, Baines.

Kanchelskis, Parkinson, Barry, Pienaar.

Lukaku, Cottee (if he was here prem league time) . Big Dunc if not.

19 Mar 2024 14:54:15
What about dave Watson or unsworth in place of branthwaite.

19 Mar 2024 17:17:26
Branthwaite’s class but got a long way to go to be a club legend. Cahill has to be in any team for me.

19 Mar 2024 17:56:34
ED25 love your posts mate - but can you tell me why Ed02 doesn’t let my posts go through? Nothing bad in them ……. Perhaps a bit of calling out but nothing more than that.

{Ed025's Note - i wish i knew mate, some editors have different standards to me i suppose Snodinsnads..

19 Mar 2024 18:32:20
Agree J toffee. Drop cottee and put Cahill in as a no10. No idea how I overlooked him tbh.

19 Mar 2024 23:07:01
JB didn't know about the 12th player, aka Fellani part deux and yes we would've scored plenty of headers ha ga.

20 Mar 2024 15:35:30
Love the change of conversation but I have to ask everyone. where is Earl barrett and John ebbrell in all your teams, gheez lol.

16 Mar 2024 22:58:21
As an Evertonian living in Coventry, I was so happy today to see Ellis Simms scoring 2 goals to take Cov to their first FA cup semi final since they last won the competition in 1987. I hope they go all the way and win it now.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2024 14:57:59
I have no idea why he was sold for less than what we paid for chermiti. Totally backwards.

17 Mar 2024 15:43:02
I have no idea why he was sold and replaced with Beto. Other than he doesn’t run round like a headless chicken. Scored goals though, always has.

17 Mar 2024 18:00:17
He stays in box like striker does. Hence he scores.

16 Mar 2024 17:05:40
Great stuff Ellis another two goals for Coventry against Wolves away from home.
That's eight goals in the last four games!
Still we've got Beto two goals in twenty odd games.
Great work Thelwell and Dyche.

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Mar 2024 22:01:46
Fair play he did score 2 goals today, however he missed an absolute sitter as well as not having a clue about the first goal he scored.

Unsure he’s cut out for premier league level but he’s doing well in the championship.

16 Mar 2024 22:56:33
Goal scorer end of.

17 Mar 2024 10:45:14
Ginger he could do any worse than the two we have upfront, he’s always been a natural goal scorer plus he has just score again against a top Premiership team in Wolves.

17 Mar 2024 12:40:01
Still can’t believe we let him go and the signed Beto. Very odd decision. Clearly SD saw something in training he didn’t like.

17 Mar 2024 13:52:22
We had little choice in letting him go. His fee, no matter how small, went a little way to help fill our financial void.

17 Mar 2024 14:22:15
Too much emphasis placed on performances in training Swinners, it is a totally different mindset and pressure on matchday.
Performances on the pitch is the criteria players should be judged on, training is intended to ensure match fitness and practice tactics but I’m not convinced we have the wherewithal amongst our coaching staff on tactics.

18 Mar 2024 11:31:57
Who was the Villa guy just turned up for the game? didn't train (bad knees).

18 Mar 2024 14:39:37
Paul McGrath and he didn't need to train either was quality.

19 Mar 2024 11:15:27
I think Huddleston just did cycling and swimming and played on injections, he had bad knees.

{Ed001's Note - are you thinking of Ledley King?}

16 Mar 2024 16:32:47
Teams around us are still doing their best to keep it up.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Mar 2024 16:51:48
And us lol.

16 Mar 2024 17:13:36
Descent results for us as long as we also pick up some points in the next few games.
Luton have a tough run in, we could do with them going into a downward spiral and keeping a 6 point difference between us.

16 Mar 2024 17:50:43
At least it’s in our hands mate, and while all the Teams around us continue to slip up, long may it continue, there are now many Teams in the mix and some are worse than us.

16 Mar 2024 17:56:02
We couldn’t really have asked for better results for us this weekend. I’m sure it would be different if we were playing!

16 Mar 2024 17:57:53
It's not entirely in our hands mate, depends on the next points deduction!

16 Mar 2024 18:17:51
Got to stay positive mate we win a couple will be no problem,3 far worse Teams below us as well.

16 Mar 2024 22:03:44
Brentford getting sucked right into the mess.

Find it quite funny that since Toney has returned they’ve nose dived - the way he talks about himself and his pushing for a move wouldn’t be surprised if he’s actually a negative impact on the team. Amazed Franck sticking with him.

16 Mar 2024 22:58:11
Looking at next 5 games compared to others below us we should be looking for 7 points luton have a tough run. Never works out at what you think on paper bit we have easier of the others, i think we need to stay above forrest incase of another deduction.

17 Mar 2024 15:01:09
GB, it is all in our hands. That's the most terrifying part about it.

15 Mar 2024 21:31:25
If I pay for my season ticket, then the club are forced into administration, do I lose all my money?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2024 08:15:12
Potentially, although only if the administrators then have to liquidate due to not being able to operate.

I don’t think that is likely, as I’m sure funding would be found from somewhere out there.

You’ll find out soon as this is the most likely turn of events we supporters will have to endure.

So sad for our great team.

15 Mar 2024 18:28:19
I know we all moan and groan about the type of footy our lads have been dishing out recently but not even a week gone by and boy do I miss it, oh to be looking forward to all the banter on match day on the forum, so have a good weekend all and catch up in a fortnight or so, ps maybe the other teams around us will continue to make sure we stay up they are doing their best after all.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Mar 2024 20:48:21
You know GB I have been watching Everton since I was 6, 78 years ago. Until recently I was as enthusiastic as anyone. For many years I went to most home games and some away games and then when I was transferred to the US in 1978 I continued to watch every game which was on TV. I was at Wembley in 1995 when we won the cup. Since then we have been on a decline, we had Kenwright who would not give up his train-set and that led to Moshiri and a financial disaster. I find it very hard to be as fanatical as I used to be, the game has changed, the money men and TV money has taken over and we are no longer the "People's Club". Every Saturday I play golf and record the game, sometimes after reading the reviews I am reluctant to watch the replay. We can only hope that next season brings us more joy and we can get beyond the financial problems and start rebuilding and enjoy watching the games.
Mike.

15 Mar 2024 21:19:05
Would much rather our lot did it all themselves, they cracked it once with seemingly appeal not needed. Failing that though would welcome 3 worse sides with the nearest 6 or 7 pts adrift.

15 Mar 2024 21:42:19
Really good comment BlueMike. Ditto FA Cup and many others. We should have run a mile from Moshri but the dollar signs were in our eyes. I suspect if we go down we will be down for a while. All down to very poor financial Management.

15 Mar 2024 23:45:56
Yes DFS I have been lucky to have been to two cup finals, 1966 and 1995 and been at Goodison when we won the league and paraded the trophy around the ground. Obviously expectations have been reduced since those lofty days but I do hope that we can resurrect ourselves to being a well run club with good recruiting and one that plays attractive football. If that happens we will not have to worry about relegation every year nor having points deducted.

16 Mar 2024 11:16:13
If we had enough points on the board and actually won some games then maybe we could take the hit if we went into administration.
