Starting to change my mind on SD I think we should offer him a five year deal, o and let's keep all our players including young, well done boys 10 out of 10 tonight.

24 Apr 2024 22:06:36
I’ll have some of what you are drinking mate.

24 Apr 2024 22:14:39
I will show him the door mate. Very good performance with that setup. Hope he doesn't revert to type.

24 Apr 2024 22:14:55
??just a bit of tongue in cheek, but still 10 out of 10 tonight and a big well done.

24 Apr 2024 21:14:18
As soon as Myko came back on I knew that the adrenaline would stop at half time and he wouldn't make it back out.

On comes Young. Let us pray!

Outstanding first half. 100% commitment and effort, that's all we ask for! Playing some half decent stuff and a high tempo.

Hard keep this up for 90mins. could be behind the couch final 10 Ed hey.

What's everyones views on the current squad?
Has the squad improved from 3 seasons and 2 seasons and last season or are we about the same.

Just want to know what peoples thoughts are if we've got better worse or stayed the same.

{Ed025's Note - got worse for me MN..

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2024 22:22:59
It has got worse, but that's down to the financial situation we are in. I definitely think it's more balanced now, not got 8 LWs anymore.

The defence is the best it's been for past few seasons. Generally 2 players per position even though cover for some 2nd positions is by the same player. So even though it is worse and doesn't have the likes of richarlison there are some positives.

24 Apr 2024 15:56:27
What about Lee Carsley as a manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Apr 2024 17:00:17
Loved him as a player but have no idea what he would be like as a coach mate.

The Coventry and Birmingham jobs were only 'caretaker' positions so they didn't last long enough to get a true idea of his capabilities.

You can't really judge the England job as I think even Dyche would win something with that crop.

24 Apr 2024 17:16:21
Surely Mark Robins is the man we should be after.

24 Apr 2024 18:31:59
Robins has done a fantastic job with Coventry.

24 Apr 2024 15:30:21
Kouyate may get a chance tonight if DCL is out, either way 1-0 for us tonight, one win will be enough to keep us up COYB.

24 Apr 2024 16:20:42
Be more than happy with a draw GB. BIG ask tonight. Could be on wrong end of a thumping. It's the Derby tho so COYB indeed pal ??.

{Ed025's Note - i usually go to the pub with my mates to watch it Mocker, but not tonight mate, i cant see us getting anything if im honest but i would love to be proved wrong..

24 Apr 2024 16:43:16
Yep likewise Ed, be at home watching nervously no doubt.

We could nick a draw, history says good bet. What is it 5 of last 6 at goodison been draws, 4 of which 0-0. 9 of last 11 been draws.

We due a win not beat them in 2010!. Can't see it tho myself. A few cans to settle nerves I think (yes on a school night ? special occasion)

{Ed025's Note - im watching it from behind the couch Mocker.. :)

24 Apr 2024 16:54:37
May well be doing same, never know we might find some loose change underneath. Could add it to our £2.40 summer transfer budget hey pal. ?

What will be will be. Let's try enjoy. ?.

24 Apr 2024 16:58:51
Never know Ed mate you could be pleasantly surprised tonight, guys on Sky reckon one more point will keep us up, good news fella eh.

{Ed025's Note - i would love it if we get something GB...for a couple of reasons mate.. :)

24 Apr 2024 17:10:27
Well there’s a bookmaker offering 100/ 1 if we win the game lol.

24 Apr 2024 17:47:23
Yeah right Woburn pull the other one mate.

24 Apr 2024 18:32:02
Tonight is about a bit of effort but priority is protecting our GD.
Yes sad I know, but realistic COYB.

24 Apr 2024 19:23:15
Very true Chalkie mate.

24 Apr 2024 08:10:04
If, we could get a stadium naming deal across the line, this would I believe, make a massive difference to our financial problems, have no knowledge of how near or fare we are from getting a a deal, so ed 25, do you hear anything on the subject?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2024 13:07:34
Sorry Intheblue but would make some difference but not a “massive” difference.

The value of a naming deal isn’t a huge amount, obviously would be some money but not as much as you’d think.

Any deal would also be done over the period set so wouldn’t be a lump sum - had a quick look and looks like £20m is one of the highest deals per year. So a decent amount but in the grand scheme of things not massive.

You’ve also got to factor in that we’re not an attractive proposition at the moment so wouldn’t imagine we’d be offered a massive amount. The USM deal was even questioned at the time of being valued at too much compared to similar deals in the league.

So whilst any deal would be welcome it’s highly unlikely that would help us out massively with our financial predicament.

24 Apr 2024 13:16:28
If and a big IF, 777 get us, the first thing they will do is sell the stadium, ( to one of there many companies) and then rent it back to us, blue we are fkd.

24 Apr 2024 14:53:37
Seems like turning down working with the council was now a terrible mistake.

24 Apr 2024 15:20:32
To right FBS.

Has PGMOL turned into an impossible to overthrow dictatorship?

24 Apr 2024 07:39:11
{Ed's Note - Lets Be Rational has posted a new article entitled, Has PGMOL turned into an impossible to overthrow dictatorship?

All the talk of needing a new manager, which I agree entirely with, has me wondering if Tim Cahill could be the answer.
Zero experience, however has the badges required and understands the club and supporters.
Clean slate and start again as SD has only one way of playing and for me that is just killing any enjoyment in watching games.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2024 07:55:05
Love the bloke Chalkie, but that would be a massive step up for him to take mate. As you say has no experience of management to date.
Now if we got relegated (god forbid) , having him working with big Dunc would be an interesting combination.

24 Apr 2024 10:00:36
What's the obsession with dunc?

{Ed025's Note - i really dont know Skylark..

24 Apr 2024 11:26:04
I agree about dunc. seems his passion is what some fans want. But passion and love for a club doesn't win you games. He's learning his trade. Years down the line then possibly but not now. Carsley would be my preferred choice. Then Keiron McKenna from Ipswich. Michael Carrick would be an interesting outside bet too, but as it stands Dyche is the gaffer, for how long though.

23 Apr 2024 21:42:12
Well now Chelsea know how it feels??.

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..

24 Apr 2024 07:16:32
Not really though eh! Bit further up the table than us.

24 Apr 2024 15:35:11
Dfs lighten up man it’s a bloody banter site.

23 Apr 2024 20:11:58
I can see why many would welcome back Moyse because we had a time of stability and you might say a modicum of success. but we never won anything under his reign and we often set up without ambition against the top of the league sides like the Reds and Utd at the time. There was no sense of daring. believing we could match the best. that is what you see from other managers like the recent ones at Brighton who are a club that punch above their weight not just because they have a sound scouting system but because their managers have not been afraid to go for three points against the top five. I respect the work Moyse did. though he conveniently forgets that his attitude to selling Lescott was widlly at odds with his pursuit of Baines and Fellaini when he left us. I just would like to see a young and freer thinking tactical manager than someone who will maybe offer solidity with few thrills. Maybe it gets back to those who remember. who would you rather see upfront Jim Pearson or Duncan McKenzie?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2024 07:57:08
Mackenzie all day.

24 Apr 2024 07:58:01
Though I should have added that Dyche would go for Pearson.

24 Apr 2024 08:22:48
Pearson.
