Hi eds posted about baines being linked with man u and Munich just seen this

Manchester United will step up their efforts to sign Leighton Baines with a £10million offer.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been given the go-ahead from United owners the Glazers to proceed with a move for the Everton and England left-back.

Ferguson sees Baines as the ideal successor to Patrice Evra, who turns 31 next Monday and has looked unconvincing this season.

United had hoped to land their man for as little as £6m, given Everton’s precarious financial position.

But with Baines under contract for three more years and interest in him from other clubs, they will have to do better than that.

Ferguson is keen to complete as much of his summer transfer business as possible quickly, as he's done in previous seasons.

That could see a bid for Baines lodged as early as next week, with the United boss aware the England international is in demand.

Evra has appeared vulnerable this season and his first-choice status at left-back is no longer assured.

With Fabio Da Silva set to go out on loan next season, United will have no cover for the veteran Frenchman at left-back.

But Baines is viewed by Ferguson as a replacement for Evra, not an understudy. {Ed025's Note - that strawberry nosed low life has got a cheek!...does he think he can just bully teams with money?...i hope moyes or kenwright go public with the answer....and tell him to F*** O**

Reckon Adam Johnson would be a huge signing if we had the funds! He's proven he can do it, he just needs a break at a club that has a patient manager. In my opinion Rodwell has to stay at least one more season, a move to Chelsea or United this early would ruin his career. Think we could do with another prolific striker, don't want to be relying on Jelavic to much... Sure Moyes will come up with something though, the guy is a genius when it comes to transfers!

I think that drenthe is an absolute disgrace! He has been axed from two clubs and has now just came out messi calling a racist! Well we all know about messi and how shy he is! And if he said that wouldn't he of came out after the game he called him a 'negro'... I hope that he doesn't pull on an everton shirt again! Doesn't deserve it, no one is bigger than the club.....

TC {Ed025's Note - dead right tc..

Believable5 Unbelievable2

You cant just wave away racist accusations because you dont expect someone to say that, Messi may well have been racist to Drenthe. Although I agree he certainly shouldnt pull on our colours again and if Drenthe is lying he should hang his head in shame

Ed can you save and copy this email into a response for everyone who comes on here and suggests selling Rodwell for buttons. Because I'm fed up pointing out the obvious.

Yes whoever you are you are entitled to your opinion and if you think the squad would be better off without him, thats fine! but pleasebase your valuation in a sensible price range.

The reasons why i ask this I will repeat yet again/

Sir Ales Ferguson rates him highly and would buy him if he were available , old red nose is not known for buying injury prone, average players!

Fabio Cappello (spelling) picked him for the England 1st team, Rodders got good reviews from all the southern journos who by definition don't recognise Everton as a force in the Premiership, hence their obsession in suggesting Moyesie needs to move to progress. (I digress).

All the top managers rate Rodwell, he has been on Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and
Man City's radar for a number of years.

Regarding his injury problems this seaeon.

Hamstrings - Steven Gerrard (appologies for using his name on here just to prove an argumentbut it is apoint in case) suffered recurring
groin and hamstring problems, due to his posture as a result of his wisdom teeth, basically it made him hold his jaw at an odd position which meant his neck was also out of position which
affected his back position and general posture.
In a nutshell they took his teeth out hamstrings stopped pulling wierd but thats the facts.

Michael Owen (similar apology) Same problem but due to the position he drove in, changed his seating position in his car - no more hamstring problem.

Rodders cause is yet to be identified or publically explained, it will get sorted!

Also given the opportunity to play at centre half may see the best of him. His safe steady short passes are indicitive of his natural role.

No-one moaned at Joe Parkinson or Lee Carsley.

People are to quick to judge look for a weak link and jump on it without thought.

Do I need to mention witch trials!

If Moyesie decides Rodders is going then I'm sure he'll go for a lot more than is being suggested.

If he does go and goes for anywhere
near £5 mil, I will come on here and
hold my hands up and say I was wrong.

Big C

ps Ed there was someone on the rumour page wondering where all the Lady
posters where! firstly as only a few of us actually sign our names how can he tell? secondly how does he know Big C doesn't stand for Carol,
it doesn't but curious and thirdly can you put him in touch with degs who seems to get adverts to meet Russian women ; )

Deffo agree big C, people have been forgetting how good rodwell was before he got injured. Plus if we play him as a CB he will play the pall out and not just hoof the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have a word with yourself Nana Rodwell.. Get rid to the Manc's and watch him play next season like Jordan Henderson while we spend his £10 - £15 million wisely...

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm that's a bit over the top callin me Nana Rodwell, if you want to get rid of him that's your opinion and you're entitled to it and if you'd read my post properly you'd have noticed that I said value him appropriately , £10-15 million might be a reasonable price however lescott went for what £24 mil with known dodgy knees, so consider that as a factor when considering your valuation and I agree spend the money wisely while he plays elsewhere !

My final point on this post is. If you intend to come on here and abuse a fellow blue please have the courtesy to sign in, and not just hit and run coward!

I am big enough to express my opinion and also big enough to admit it if I'm proved incorrect!

I am also big enough to sign my name so other posters and the Eds know who I am

Join in or hide it's up to you!

Hi ed, this is what i think will happen this summer
Everton will finish 8th and get 10million from the league. Half will go to barclays and the rest on Pienaar. Diame on free with Olsson. J rod for 5 million and maybe Powell from crewe. Funded by Rodwell leaving

Don't see why people are saying we should splash money on a new rb, we have a top class rb in hibbo he's been brilliant over the last 3 seasons, there is a reason why we have one of the best defensive records in the prem why would we change a thing from the back 4 if we don't need to? we have coleman for when neville hangs up his boots anyway...
Toffepidge

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Agreed, although the RB spot isn't solid, we have Nev, Hibbo and Coleman who can do a job. If we are to spend money, I would rather we use it in areas where we desperately lack quality i.e. on the right wing, I am sorry but Osman (central midfielder), Gueye (needs more time), Anichebe (not a footballer FFS), Coleman (a right back) and McFadden (haha) are not the quality we need at this moment. {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree mate, a winger must be priority (as well as pienaar ofcourse) someone pacey who will give us something different. we lack a pacey winger who will get the ball and leave everyone standing!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree.

Right wing, Pienaar (or LW) and a partner for Jelavic should be our main priorities imo.

been thinking we might be ok for strikers next season because we have the amazing anichebee... hes done quite well this season and i think he deserves a chance in the xi, this will let us focus on other areas for once... firstof all pienarr. then a new rm. and new defender who can operate at all over the back.we also need a keeper

new team:
---------------howard-----------------
coleman---jags---heitinga---baines
HOILETT---felli---rodders---PIENARR
-----------anichebe---jelavic-------

hoilet would be free which i like the sound of pienuts probably close to 4 mill. wouldnt mind seeing dempsey come in if we dont go with anichebe but its the money.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Not gonna get Hoilett and I would rather me nan play instead of Anichebe, Pienaar is a MUST

4-5-1 Jelly on his own with Felli behind him

Degsybluenose {Ed025's Note - felli and your nan sounds a better option for me degsy ;o)

Agree0 Disagree0

The best thing we could do is to buy a top quality guy who can play both 1. out and out striker, 2. right winger, plus also 3. in the hole as 'striker number 2' - Donovan for me fits all three - but there may be others (dempsey can do 2 of them not sure about winger) - trouble with landing a top out and out striker is he aint gonna get past Jelavic into the starting 11 most of the time - so he's gonna get hacked off sitting on bench - but if we don't get a decent 2nd striker then if Jelavic gets injured or out of form we're struggling to score again

Moyes has to use his money wisely... {Ed025's Note - good post mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we permanently stuck in 4-5-1, its not illegal to play two strikers, you know like in a 4-4-2 the formation that a lot of teams use

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think our midfield has been strong enough to play 4-4-2 cos whenever we do we get overrun- wella

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard
Jags Heitinga Distin
Coleman Baines
Gibson
Fellaini Pienarr
Jelavic _______?

Sky sports news earlier said cardiffs owners want to change the clubs colours to red because it will improve merchandising abroad. Can you imagine if we had owners saying that maybe bills not that bad after all. Be interesting to see what ppl think would u sacrifice change of colour for some investment ? I did have to check it wasn't 1st April when I heard that report lol {Ed025's Note - not me mate...if we played in red..our team would be boring, and are supporters would turn into arseholes...it happens you know!

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I think we could do a bit more with the shirt to make it stand out
teams in red seem to do better cos it's an easy to see that colour - blue get's lost in the background - so we need to make it standout a bit more
for me I would add in flashes of yellow - maybe flag-like streaks in one direction like diagonally downwards from the shoulder - something a bit innovative that catches the eye and is easy to spot {Ed025's Note - stella macartney...eat your heart out..

Believable0 Unbelievable4

That would be a great summer of transfer activity, i feel we could get 12 million for rodders as he is young with bags of potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell anichebe! You must be mental, we could never spend the money, have you never heard if the sale of goods act 1979 fit for purpose clause? He's damaged goods!

J0hn80y {Ed025's Note - we could sell him under the dutch elm law (dead wood), if we sold him as a footballer, we could be done under the trades descriptions act..

Agree0 Disagree0

As s**te as he is may I remind you lads Anichebe is our second top scorer lol

If Pragnic has gone to China for the money then it's fair to say we got off lightly as he's in it for the money and that's just not our kind of player

Regarding Dempsey to RS or the Arse' - I would still fancy our chances as I just can't see him fitting in to those sides whereas with us it's obvious he will fit straight in and be guaranteed 30+ games a season. And we have a good record with the American community, ala Tim, Marcus and Landon.

On another note I will be at the Liberty stadium on Sunday cheering on Swansea to victory so that we can finish 4 points clear when we beat the toon. COYB

Peanuts should be on the top of the list this summer. One thing that Everton need to learn from the Wolves game is to sometimes mix a direct approach to goal, they where frustrating at times trying to score the perfect goal when any kind of goal would be good. Get ruthless Everton when you have the freedom of the park like we did against Wolves, the ball always looks better when its in your opponents net
