JAGS. on the time he played, looked to de back to his best, fitness & form returning.

STONES. I'm a big fan, but not at RB, out of position, must play at CB both for England & Everton.

jackie wheelchair has no ability, run forward 5 yards, pass sideways, keep running without the ball until you bump into someone, fall over, stay there for 5 minutes, rinse and repeat

{Ed025's Note - your such a benevolent soul at times swan.. :)

Swan lacks positivity- watches a game, picks on someone slags them off, replies to posters its only my opinion- rinse repeat.

Come on Swan man break the mold pick someone from the England team/set up and give them a bit of prasie - Even if its only the ball boy ;)

Dont remember putting imo anywhere in that post, don't need to, its fact, people see I don't like a player, comment I don't like any player other than everton players and that i'm biased, based off the fact tom cleverly is awful, and wilshere, meansi don't like any player, ever, if you want positivity? Oxlade chamberlain is boss

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone knows Swan and me have had our disputes, but on this one, I am with him. Wilshere plays like a little fast kid who cannot quite get the ball under control. Each player he goes past makes him lose a bit more control and he ends up stretching so much to reach the ball, he inevitably gets fouled. He has only just come back from one such injury and every time I watch him, I wince waiting for the next challenge. Soon he will get clobbered and either retire or be out for another lengthy period. Too much of a liability for any team.

There has been real concern about the defence. Does anyone know the nature of the injury that led to jags missing the last 1/3 of the season? He has been a rock for years, but there is no room for sentiment in top level football, wonder if he will keep his england spot to-night!

When RM joined us and Moyes left under a big cloud to the Red Devils, most people were overjoyed and I have to admit that slowly I have warmed to RM. One or two others also showed some concern that the anti-Moyes feelings were verging on the abusive. I have supported and been involved in youth and amateur football for many years now and although I was welcoming to RM, I was also sad to see Moyes leave. especially in the manner he left. Most people branded his negative football as too defensive and boring. That was one criticism I did not agree with. My own opinion was that he had turned the club around and we were once again challenging for a top four position each season. Our use of attacking full backs was a delight in my opinion. I was cautious when RM came in, thinking of how Wigan seemed to play carefree football, hoping to out-score the opposition, but often losing high scoring games. Eventually the carefree football led to Wigan being relegated. I have to say that we are only 3 games in, but does anyone else share my fear that we seem to be mirroring the care free approach of Wigan? I remember them having to win at Arsenal and did so with a ridiculous high scoring game. Yes I love some of the signings he has made. Yes I love some of the football we play. Yes I think the 6 3 score is real entertainment. But I also would rather have beaten Chelsea 1 nil with a scrappy goal. My point is that RM has improved us no end as an attacking force, but conceding 10 goals in 3 games is relegation statistics if it continues. I think we would have been wise to sign a 10 million center half.

I agree that a decent centre half was needed at the end of the window, having leaked some soft goals in the first three games. But with Jags seemingly lacking some confidence since the World Cup, I feel that John Stones should start with Distin against WBA at the weekend.
I relation to your comments on David Moyes, I agree that after 11 years he left us in a much better position than we were in prior to his arrival. He made us into a difficult team to beat, established us a top 6/7 side season after season and like you I was upset when it was announced that he would be leaving. What upset later was the manner in which he left - the illegal 'tap up' from Whisky Nose and the transpiring derisory offers for Baines and Fellaini throughout last summer's transfer window. That changed my opinion of him. With Roberto's breath of fresh air around Goodison last season, coupled with Moyes' disastrous and ill fated tenure at Old Trafford; I wish him no hard feelings but would certainly not welcome him back with open arms.

I agree with most of your post degsy but he had inherited Moysey's very tight back four, so not sure why they are now leaking so many goals, perhaps an answer would be a specialist defensive coach?
It is a somewhat similar situation to arsenal when wenger took over the adams bould etc team, Bould is now back coaching perhaps we should look at that scenario?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not concerned at all.

We are playing scintillating football, with record levels of full houses and season ticket holders. If we were to maintain our poor level of defense then we will concede over 100 goals this season, come on there's no way that'll happen.

Let's just sit back and enjoy a very exciting season ahead.supporting the best group of players we've had since the 80s

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with all the responses above. I am not panicking just yet, but am trusting RM to see the problem and sort it. I fully expect Stones to be back in the team and Jags rested. I also expect McGeady or Mirrallas to play. but not both. with Naismith and Lukaku ahead of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most people were incredibly anxious and not very happy with the appointment. This feeling stayed until about 5-6 games in to his reign.

{Ed007's Note - They're perfect, Swan, cheers. We appreciate posters sending in suggestions for our Poll of the Day as it saves us racking our brain to think of them for every club. If anybody else thinks of any feel free to send them in, we won't clutter up the pages by posting up people's suggestions but if your suggestion is suitable it will eventually appear on the site.}

Really don't understand why he is played at right back for england! He is not a right back and looks uncomfortable there
