Great rumour site, but all this Brands, Raiola stuff is getting boreing now, let me start one, Ronaldo was seen at Finch Farm, to see his old manc mate, get him signed, how many, if any, are confirmed, none yet, and as a hard blue fan, i want the best for our club COYB.

Everything is a rumour until confirmed, and our club don't so stuff like that the easy way.

We currently have 22 players registered in our aged-over-21 Premier League squad: Baines, Bolasie, Coleman, Funes Mori, Garbutt, Gueye, Jagielka, Keane, Klaassen, Mangala, Martina, McCarthy, Niasse, Pickford, Robles, Rooney, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Stekelenburg, Tosun, Walcott and Williams A.
We have 3 aged-over-21 players who are in the U23s: Baxter J., Grant and Tarashaj.
We also have 7 aged-over-21 players out on loan: Byrne, Besic, Browning, Gray, Mirallas, Pennington and Sandro.
There 7 are aged-under-21 players out on loan: Charsley, Connolly, Dowell, Galloway, Lookman, Robinson and Williams J.
There are 6 aged-under-21 players who are in the first-team squad already: Baningime, Calvert-Lewin, Davies, Holgate, Kenny and Vlašić. Other aged-under-21 players had a taste of first-them football - in the Europa League, on the bench, or just training with the first-team squad (e. g. Feeney, Hornby, etc. ) .

The above comes to around 45 players - and that's not allowing for new players coming in or for other U23s/ U18s coming through. Some may leave - Mangala will probably return to ManCity, Robles is at the end of his contract, while Garbutt has already been told to find another club - but the number of players is still a lot.
Next season (without European football) our first-team squad surely doesn't need 45 players (maybe not even 25!) , so which would you definitely release this Summer (either permanently or on loan) ?

wblue: your list is a good start, mate, but you need to ditch twice as many imho (and that’s without allowing for new signings) before we’re down to a first-team squad of 25 (probably even fewer) .
Those 25 will comprise a core of experienced players plus a group of our youngsters that are ready for the first-team. You need to get the 45+ that I listed down to 25 - and that means a lot will miss out. I envisage quite a few departures - permanently or on loan - this Summer.
Also, the U23s squad will be revamped this Summer, so it’s make-or break for some of the youngsters at Everton. I expect the club to announce the retained and released lists soon.

Out: Bolasie, Garbutt, Williams, Martina, Mangala, Robles, Baxter, Tarashaj, Besic, Mirallas, Sandro (was willing to give him another chance, has since said he doesn't want to return so f*ck him)

Loan: Kenny and DCL.

I agree with all of the outs people have posted yet o would also move Rooney on.

A good player but not a CM player for me, only on the decline and we would probably fetch a fair wedge and get his wages cleared off the books too.

It makes sense in my head.

I would also bee keen to retain Besic as he’s been looking dynamite now he’s playing week in and week out.

08 May 2018 20:53:06
My list would be

Bolasie, garbutt, mangala martina Niasse, Robles, Rooney, steak, Williams, Baxter, grant and tarashaj, 6 of the 7 players that are over 21 and out on loan except Besic.

If you’ve not made it at 21 and you’then you’re not cut out for the prem.

18 players trimmed down there.

Niasse deserves to stay his attitude is unquestionable and he makes things happen, even if its not on purpose. Once we've got 20 players who put the same effort in then we can think of moving him on.

JDEJones: ruthless, mate!
I’d only keep a player between 21 and 23 if he’s a genuine first team-squad contender. The only exceptions would be someone of promise whose career had been disrupted by injury - and then I would send him on loan and closely monitor his performance.
I see no point in an U23 competition - imho it should be U21 with a restricted number of older players allowed so that senior players (say returning from injury) can get some match-action.

08 May 2018 22:06:22
I don’t see Besic doing it for Everton.
I don’t see Rooney being a regular starter - if he stays that is.
Niasse is a trier - but we can upgrade.
Keeping Lookman is a must imho - but Bolasie is questionable.
As for loaning DCL, etc., - where to? What’ll he learn in the Championship? He needs games in our PL team - not every match, but enough to keep his development going.
Others - like Browning, Galloway, Pennington, Dowell, etc. - might need to go on loan again.

Outs: Bolasie, Garbutt, Mangala, Martina, Robles, Rooney, Schneiderlin, A Williams, Baxter, Grant, Tarashaj, Byrne, Browning, Galloway, Gray, Mirallas, Sandro, Connelly and J Williams.

I would have included McCarthy in that list due to injuries but we realistically won't be able to sell him until next Summer due to his current injury. I would give Besic Klaassen and Pennington their last chances to impress. I'd also keep Niasse as he can pop up with a goal or two as an impact sub.

Of the current youngsters involved in the first team I would 100% loan out Kenny, as Coleman is generally injury free, and I think Kenny needs game time. After this season I woild be tempted to loan out Davies to build up his confidence, unless he is to be given a substantial amount of game time. Similarly, if Robinson isn't ready to break into the team, at least as competition to Baines I'd loan him out too. I would loan out DCL if we buy a quality new striker.

Our squad would be (although I am aware some players can play in several positions e. g. Pennington, Holgate) :

GK: Pickford, Stekelenburg
RB: Coleman, Pennington
CB: Holgate, Jagielka, Keane, Mori, New CB
LB: Baines, New LB
CM: Baningime, Besic, Gueye, Klaassen, Sigurdsson, New CM
RW/ LW: Dowell, Lookman, Vlasic, Walcott, New LW
ST: Niasse, Tosun, New ST

The new players I mention above would all have to be quality for this to work, but hopefully the right manager and Moshiri's chequebook could convince a few good eggs to join us.

Blue Tommy: Very thorough review, mate. I suspect that a few you’d keep might be moved out this summer, but imho it depends greatly on whether or not Walsh and Allardyce are replaced.

BobbyC: I also suspect that Bolasie and Schneiderlin will still be there even though I'd put them on the out list. Bolasie for me isn't even as good an option as Vlasic or Lookman and although I don't doubt the quality Schneiderlin possesses, his attitude is in doubt for me (he didn't put any effort in when the team was playing poorly and the pressure was on) .

Of those I wish to stay, I imagine Besic will go and I wouldn't be surprised if Niasse and Klaassen also went.

What is wrong with E. Howe? Young English manager, plays good football, is an Everton fan and is doing as well as one could with a tin pot club like Bournemouth. What size is their ground? 11,000 🤭

Finishes of 16th, 9th and could finish 10th this year. That’s really not bad going.

Silva is a mercenary and I’d be surprised if Fonseca joined.

Viera - Major League experience only
Wenger - passed it
Arteta - massive gamble

Who else?!

Howe and Brands for me 👌🏻.

I don't see Howe getting into the top 6 to be honest chaps, but admit he is a good coach and deserves a step up. Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham, but not us. I want a continental coach with fresh ideas, european experience, and above all a history of success. Someone who wants to try his hand in the EPL.

When Kenwright took over the club was worth nothing. It would have cost us to get rid of the players we had at the time.
