Not entirely sure what difference it makes. But sounds good though.

It' looks like a Steve Walsh replacement.

From what I read into it he will oversee the football philosophy from Academy to first team which will hopefully see the football standard we want to implement being played at the club at all levels, from what he also said it doesn't look likely we will see any movement coming in this month and that he is focusing on the summer window more.

It is a sign of stability. Brands backing and his appointment to the board shows the club is looking at a stable player recruitment and youth strategy, run by brands. Managers may, and can come and go but the DOF will be the constant.
Exactly what a DOF should be doing.

Sounds the more likely reason Smit. If anything it solidifies his role in the clubs strategy and plan for the future.

Agree with Smit666, it shows how much faith they have in the guy to take the club forward.

Formalising his role is all it means. The word revolution means change is ongoing and not complete, that is how I see it and that is before we even get started on the Stadium. All I heard last night was in essence waffle and deflection from the current playing side failure despite yet again spending millions. On the playing side 1 win in 8 is unacceptable.

On the administration side, Moshri has not been ruthless enough in my view. I agree 6 months is not long enough yet to truly judge, but words like progress on the pitch unless there is tangible proof. Can anyone hand on heart truly say the Team has progressed. Playing pretty football without results does not count. We are in a results business.

DFS. I’m pretty sure FM said the current league position was unacceptable. Hardly a deflection. How it came across to me was that he was unhappy with the progress so far and that we’re lower in the league than his expectations ergo ours. That for me is very clear with zero waffle.

We may not be happy where we are, we may put our hands on our hearts and not see progress. That’s ok to have that view. But don’t call what Farhad Moshiri said waffle or deflection. Unless of course you missed that part. (Genuine point not sarcasm)

No-one even intimated that the revolution is complete DFS, far from it. Moshiri said he's not happy with our current position and he also said some players are not showing their full potential - yet. How that even comes close to 'deflection' and 'waffle' is beyond me.

We do need an overhaul through the whole club structure. It is embarresing how few youngsters are coming through in the last few years.
You only have to look acroos the park and the quality coming through there ranks, it is vital we get this right. let's hope Brants can do it.

I am sure he will mate, but he must be given time not 5 mins, our Club was in a hell of a mess and we needed someone like Marcel for so long with a proven track record which he certainly has, good times ahead.

Can you point to one post I have made (I have not read others either) where I have said, not happy with Brands. I rate the guy highly and continue to do so. I do not rate our current Manager and cannot understand (admittedly I am only a layman) , why he was appointed. Yes it is only six months but after six months of Martinez first Season, where is the comparison for instance. Already 7th is looking if not impossible relying on others to have a meltdown. The crunch for me was New Years day.

Hey not saying it was you mate all i was saying was that some did not rate him and the usual couple of negative posts appeared on here as always when he was appointed, its a game of opinions just think we all need to give the guy time time, no knee jerk reactions.

Speaks commonsense especially about the January Window, hold on to whoever the Manager/ Coach deems essential to the way he wants to play and only go for someone in January if unforeseen injury/ illness to essential player or as if by magic someone of class and low wages becomes available for the particular position we want to fill. Alas for those reasons, we will have to see if (at this stage anyway) with the Squad he has Mr Silva can somehow engineer a top 10 finish. For me any finish less than 8th (with the apparent poor Squad and boring poor tactics of the last Manager) will be deemed as failure. We shall see. Going to give it a rest now. Should cheer a few on here up.

Who exactly were we supposed to go and get as manager in the summer DFS?
There wasn't exactly a plethora of managers queuing up for the job.
Don't even say keep Sam.

Aside from his lack of attacking football, knack of filling a club with players that eventually get the team relegated. The guys is a charlatan a crook and is dishonest. Proven to be a cheat and i for one am embarrassed to call him an ex manager.

Chris Hughton, Eddie howe, David wagner to name three that you could have gone for and realistically got that's just off the top of my head who I'd say are all better than your current manager, but you've got him now and need to back him. Dfs is right to question and probe, it's your duty to always shed light on aspects of your club you see as wrong, not continually back everything you club does regardless because you think it makes you a positive person and a positive fan, giving you the moral high ground to insult fellow fans calling them negative moaners or doom mongers, those fans are just playing it safe being subservient if you will. Good on you Dfs for not settling for second best.
