two points ed do you know when the safety certificate runs out.is the a timescale where we either have to leave Goodson to a new home.or do we have modernise goodison before a set date.
Secondly as to boards lack of investment would it not be worth a gamble to invest in the team so season after season we regularly win a trophy or finish in a cl place, then the board will get a return for their investment then surely this will raise the profile of the club and then investors will see Everton as a better prospect to invest in or buy.
What are your views please.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im not sure on the safety certificate chosen, on investment these dinosaurs we have are happy to see their money tied up for a long time, this is their retirement fund and with the sly money getting bigger by the season it beats the bank interest hands down, someone will offer big money one day and they will cash in their chips but until then its happy days for them mate..

Watching the england ireland game. Barkley is bloody awful. Twice now he's had shots that phil neville would of buried. He cannot kick a ball and looks lost. Still waiting for this Ballack, Zidane and Lampard hybrid player.

I don't always agree with your opinion swan but this time I agree.i thought Coleman had a decent game for us and mc geady didn't do too bad either.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 16:15:41
He's better than Clevs tho. Gunna be a phenomenal midfield next season

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 16:05:05
He missed a few shots, had more drive in the time he was on then anyone bar Wilshere. He played some good passes and linked well with the other attacking players.

I've never read or heard anything as negative as the rubbish you post. So rarely Is any of it accurate. sometimes I wonder why you spend the time to type it. You're actually obsessed with the negatives you don't see the positives. Can tell by the way you type to you're mid adolescent. 16 maybe 17. I hope you don't take pessimism with you in future life.

Agree6 Disagree4

07 Jun 2015 17:13:11
Thought mcgeady done ok Coleman was decent, as for Barkley? Don't really know what to make of him? When's he's good he's GOOD, problem is 2 out of 10 games isn't good enough, over rated? Absolutely? Do we cash in on him and gamble on seeing him go on to great things! Or do we stick and hope he turns out to be what all the hype say he'll be?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 19:57:56
Swan is not a fan of Barkley PB. I don't think he had a good game but the whole team was on holiday.

I wouldn't slate him on this game and I'm hoping next season we will start to see the best of him. He needs some time off and a chill out to re-focus. He's played constant football for the last 2 seasons and looks exhausted mentally as well as physically.

Agree3 Disagree2

07 Jun 2015 21:08:45
Spot on Blue. He's in desperate need of a break. He loves our club never talks about leaving, signed his new contract without any fuss. Seems loyal grounded and able.

Agree1 Disagree3

07 Jun 2015 21:46:09
Ouch that hurt. Not. In fact, it kind of cheered me up, thanks mate. Needed a laugh.

Sick of seeing the hate from swan towards him, ye he's had a dodgy season but he's 21 for Christ sake I bet you had a lot to learn then too, he's been part of a shocking everton team devoid of cofidence and an international no one could be arsed playing, I also watched the game and seen sterling lose the ball constantly and he's just turned down a 100k the fact you felt you needed to post that at all speaks volumes

Agree4 Disagree5

08 Jun 2015 03:06:05
Why is sterling relevant? If I was a liverpool fan then you cluld being it up as a counter but it isn't because how he did didn't bother me. All season people have been saying 'he's been part of a poor everton team'. He was no different yesterday. We were poor yet other players his age like stones, lukaku and besic all had decent-good seasons.

Agree2 Disagree5

08 Jun 2015 12:33:48
Sterling is relevant because he is similar in expectation yet greedy too it would seem. You brought up comparisons in your post so others will too. You mentioned Lampard so someone else mentioned Sterling, that is fair.

Agree3 Disagree3

08 Jun 2015 13:49:24
Your problem seems to be the hype surrounding him he hasn't fulfilled which is why I brought a greedy midget similar age played awful aswell yet has the attitude that he's ready for Madrid, I haven't heard Ross himself come out and over sell himself just the typical english media, have besic and lukaku really been that good? One can't even get a game, not sure if your from liverpool or not which I doubt because your hell bent on sticking the knife in at any opportunity including a game he never even started and was played like a warm down on the beach.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 14:00:06
from wavetree. besic not gtting a game is due to our sily manager. lukaku has 20 goals. barkley has 2 asists in 80 games. so if I have a go at an overrated english player I am not a scouser, ha.

What's the title of this thread 'have a free swipe at Swan'?

Give the guy a break ffs.

As for RB , well he has lost his edge that's for sure, He is loyal, however his ability imo has gone awol the question is why?

Must say though we should'nt judge him on 'friendlies' like these anyway, it was like 'watching paint dry' etc.

Personally I think with the correct coaching, he will eventually become a top player.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 14:21:25
So your actually from were he is aswell, did he Meg you in the street or something, I'm also from wavertree and agree he's been poor but maybe I like to see poeple do well from my area rather than start every thread with a swipe at him, exspecially on the back off a game with no winners

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 14:47:53
Haha. I'm sure Swan can look after himself.

Some people just don't see what he is supposed to be doing and have those blinkers on!

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 15:00:57
My last post didn't show the opta stats for Ross that I put up but it said:

Ross Barkley has already been involved in more efforts than any other England player (3 shots, 2 chances created). Impact.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 15:16:05
I don't always agree with Swan, but I think that Barkley has been poor enough this season that I'm not sure if he is going to be something special or not.

Swan can be overly negative, but I would say he has a point 8 out of 10 times that he says something.

To start bringing in where you're from as a point of debate is a little childish. Next you'll be calling him a kopite.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 17:39:02
I've heard kopites be more complimentary about him that Swan.

To be honest though I don't mind anyone having a go. Its quite easy to argue against this type of comment though. Its better to back it up and put forward a better argument. State what you think he should do or point to other examples of how he could be better. Simply saying he's sh*t all the time is always going to lose support. Plus people will respect the argument more.

I do though agree with you Swan on a number of other issues so all is not lost.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 09:34:16
i have stated multiple times what barkley needs to do. support lukaku and be a number 10 and he does not do it. i'm not going to be biased mike just as he is from wavetree.

The real problem is our board Martinez only has about 20 mill to spend compared to other clubs chasing CL football, see the thing that I just don't get and it really bugs me is we are not for sale I except that but we have one of the richest board members in the league but they won't invest so how does Kenwright expect other people to. Martinez has to buy cheap and grab freebies to fill in the gaps the real problem is at board level the sooner there gone the better.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - our board (except for BK) are all freeloaders and charlatans stef and a total waste of space, if they wanted to we could be massive imo but it means you have to speculate to accumulate and these fraudsters dont have the bottle mate..

07 Jun 2015 13:20:54
Exactly ed but they expect others to take the gamble on us bunch of wasters they are.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 13:21:58
I would think he would have the right money if the right player became available, £20m is nothing in todays market.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not to most clubs wakka..

07 Jun 2015 16:20:13
Didnt know we were chasing CL footie Stef, we are miles off that mate, our goal should be to finish 5-10th in the league

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 17:00:50
One of everton's biggest share holders, and a very wealthy man, is Lord Granchester, but, him and Bill Kenwright do not get on, with Kenwright there, he will not invest in the club, so, in the best interests of the club, Kenwright should stand down, if Granchester is willing to give an undertaking to invest.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 17:47:59
A club as big as Everton should always be chasing CL football and league titles winning cups and so on so on one of the biggest clubs in England always have been and always will be hopefully.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 19:54:47
Chase as much as we want Stef, won't catch them

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jun 2015 20:56:01
Murf that's because we have a board that lack ambition bloody clowns they are and are dragging our great club down with them but hey who are we anyway just supporters who spend our bollox every season to support our team shame on them We are only poor little Everton because of them clowns that run us.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 21:14:36
Already have once and gone close a few times too. Aim high to achieve.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 21:17:54
If Granchester is withholding investment because he doesn't like Kenwright then I'm sorry, he can take his Billions elsewhere. I mean how can someone so rich be so monumentally childish.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - granchester is old school ace, a my way or the highway type of guy, his wealth means he can do whatever he bloody well likes mate..

08 Jun 2015 01:04:51
We keep saying the board like ambition but until last seasons new deal we ran on a deficiet so we were at the top of our spending, 29 mil last year dosnt say a lack of ambition either, I wouldn't give him more money anyway the mangers signings lack more ambition than the boards

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 15:20:50
I've heard (admittedly not be people necessarily in the know) that the reason Lord Grantchester doesn't invest more in Everton is that he wants to, but his missus is opposed to it and sees it as too big a financial risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im told its because him and bill dont get on tommy, but i suppose it could be that granchesters bird wears the kecks mate...

07 Jun 2015 11:40:49
I'm old enough to remember some of the midfield greats at our club.
Collins, Ball, Harvey, Kendal, Reid ect
where? does this Cleverly fit in amongst these players?
to move our club forward, we need quality, &
the only way we can measure new players is against other players we have had.
I know comparisons are odious, but necessary.
I thro' this one open to the blue "think tank"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jun 2015 18:42:32
The thing is Hendo, we're skint because the board refuse to invest. would like to see better players than Clevs, but we won't until the club gets shot of the parasites within the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2015 20:39:20
How can you even begin to make comparisons with past players before he has even kicked a ball for the club!?

Ridiculous!!

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 22:51:36
Everyone is acting ridiculous is Cleverley the first midfielder we've had who hasn't been as good as the above names? NO. Free agent who bolsters squad depth we don't have all the money in the world and we have midfielders (ageing & injury prone) that need replacing, every player in your squad doesn't have to cost a fortune ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - But it's still Tom Cleverley, don't Everton have any young player that could beef up the squad, cost less and isn't Tom Cleverley? Unless it's an in game injury what possible situation could Everton ever be in when the answer is Tom Cleverley, he's hardly an impact sub is he?}

09 Jun 2015 02:54:17
So let's hype up some more youngsters put them in and have them overwhelmed with all the pressure, then our fans would get on their backs for minor things just as much as cleverley and then moan about how were not signing anyone. Not saying don't give them a chance but timing has to be right, plus its only one midfielder, Osman, Gibson & Barry need long term replacements, and i'd take cleverley who played 37 games last season over the Gibson we have now who plays once every 6 months. Plus with the kids you can't expect us to challenge at the top end of the table if were just going to use unproven players when a main player is injured or can't play for any other reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair points there JW..

07 Jun 2015 08:42:52
I think this free transfer saga will be the norm from now on a lot of players will run there contract out! The cleverly signing might not be the greatest signing in the world but he's free! If it doesn't work out we sell him? We got nothing to lose We have a small squad so if we can get a few players in on a free to bulk up the squad surely that's a good thing? Fingers crossed we could spend a bit on getting some new quality signings aswell and generate a bigger better stronger squad!

I watched last night's match and compare both teams to my beloved Everton.
it was like an asthmatic ant staring up at Everest!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jun 2015 01:29:11
Right tbh, I'm not Cleverlys biggest fan but I will give him a chance as long as he puts his heart and would on the line every time he puts on the royal blue jersey!
However, I've not been particularly impressed with him this season, and to find out he's just been called up by england for the Ireland and Scotland games tells me they are worse off than us!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jun 2015 00:53:31
Free" transfer or not, your about to committ a great deal of money, for a club that claims money is tight, so, before you do, do you think Martinez actually watched the cup final to make a final check, and, if he did, what did he see that the rest of us missed?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Jun 2015 11:38:33
''what did he see that the rest of us missed?''

JCW, Roberto Martinez imo wears blinkers or rose tinted glasses at times .

The very idea of him missing something is very much down to his lacklustre mentality!

The more he is inspired by things we find dull and not worthy of a blue shirt ,

The more we find him dull and uninspiring!
