Victor Anichebe caught the eye on Monday as Everton eased past Cheltenham in the FA Cup third round. Speaking after a 5-1 win for his side, Toffees boss David Moyes moved to rubbish reports suggesting Anichebe could soon be on his way to Reading.

Does anyone know why Moyes isnt giving the lad Vellios a chance. Played superb every time he has come on and tonight would have been a great opportunity. Would also have liked to see Barkley get a few minutes too.
What do you recon fellow blues?
Rossaldinho {Ed025's Note - it was a chance missed for me mate, i agree that vellios, and barkley should have been given a go while we were cruising..

It turns out that Vic isn't off to Reading. The reporter got him and Hope Akpan mixed up - just like some guy at Cheltenham got Nev and his bro' mixed up earlier tonight.

Big vic off to reading on twitter. Would you get rid ed? {Ed025's Note - to be honest..NO...unless we bring in someone better..
Why even post this garbage, Eds? Even rumours need some credibility and given Victor's recent performances and the comments of DM and others it seems drivel to suggest he's moving.

Why has Barkley not had a run out tonight?surely it was a good chance to give him at least a half? Does moyes not fancy him? Is he not training well. Few Wednesday fans I know said he was their best player this year!
Yorkshire blue
Check there web site fans were moaning about him not tracking back as well as players running past him so maybe we need to loan him out for the rest of the season and get him some proper first team experience after all it done ossie no harm

Don't like to make up silly rumours or speculation but was there anything in that wave Baines give to the crowd it looked like a wave of goodbye. Or was it merely just acknowledging our fans, just thought it was strange what do the rest of you guys think. Savefc
Baines will sign new contract if he was gettin transferred wouldn't hav played .why would anyone want to leave, moyes has said we don't need to sell, players look like there really enjoy playing .we, ll bring two players in forren n o vadis n mite lose hetinga .
The first nine words in your email sum it up perfectly....

You Don't like to make up silly rumours or speculation, but you still go ahead anyway. Unbelievable some people are.

For god's sake, don't be ridiculous, he was just acknowleding the fans, is is not allowed to have a bit of a rest, he stayed on the bench, if you noticed, he had ice on both legs.
End of the season will IMHO be when DM, Baines, Fellaini, etc., will be making decisions about staying or going. I expect that some decent-sized investment for the squad would also influence DM. As several people have said, qualifying for Europe (especially CL) will be a major factor. With just one game a week from now on (mostly at weekends barring replays and rearranged matches) - and if we avoid injuries - we have a great opportunity for a strong second half of the season.

I haven't seen Holtby play but if he is as good as people say then surely our board could find the 1.6 million that Spurs have been quoted to take him now.
I would love to get one over on Spurs after all the players they have stolen from under our noses on the past.COYB
It's not just the transfer fee, it's the signing-on fee, the agents' fees, and the wages - the whole package has to represent good value for us to sign anyone and I guess the total amount isn't worth it as far as DM is concerned given the realities of our financial situation and what he wants the balance of the squad to be.
C.A.Jones
07 Jan 2013 18:39:48
It looks like footballers aren't the only people changing positions this transfer window; Bill Kenwright has been dropping a few hints lately about selling his majority shares in Everton. Apparently he has been made an irresistible offer by someone in the Sheffield area and with it being Christmas recently he could really do with the spare cash...

i know a few people have already posted about naismith. but i just want to say theres no point giving him a hard time. Because he's all we've got and its clear to us all he's not a winger. The only problem is i just don't see him playing where he's best behind the striker due to fellainis form. but i'd like to see him get ago there tonight
Your right mate, Naisy just needs a bit of confidence back and played behind striker and he'll be great for yous. The fans getting on his back won't be helping him at all. Thought yous were meant to be the greatest fans in the world?

Quick word on Johnny H, he's tweeted that he's missing tonight's game because of a 'small injury' so, despite all of these 'returning to Ajax' rumours, I wouldn't read too much into his absence from the game tonight.
Murf
Maybe this 'small injury' is because he's in Holland and the club don't want it to get out till its a done deal? Or his hand is cramped from signing a contract...
07 Jan 2013 16:06:13
Hi guys, I've been searching for a football site associated
with the toffees where you can remain anonymous. I am a pro footballer and have been offered an 18 month contract by Everton football club, I've not fully completed my full medical yet but don't envisage any problems.
I've not had much time on the pitch as of late, but I am fully fit and ready to play. the manager has given no assurances in terms of playing time, just to take my chance when I get on. my position is centre forward.
I am fast, I work hard, I have played for a big club and have had the experience of playing in your wonderful Stadium with its unique atmosphere, so forgive me for not signing off at this moment but hopefully I will be able to leave another post on Friday when the deal is signed and contract finalised.
Ed?
QB {Ed025's Note - search me mate..
Does anybody believe that? Mike B {Ed025's Note - whats not to believe?..
Ha get lost you kopite I'm pretty sure a pro player wouldnt come on here and tell us that they are signing for us...this is complete garbage!! {Ed025's Note - why are you so doubtful?...the guy has said nothing wrong, or abusive, benefit of the doubt and all that..
Darren Bent?
BitterBlue
I calculate 12 grammatical errors. The bracket for a real footballer is 3-5 per sentence. Sorry, I don't buy it. {Ed025's Note - it could be chris kamara, or paul merson.. :)
Can't you check to see if this poster has previously posted on this site Ed? If he hasn't then his post is certainly more 'believable'. I personally think if this is a genuine post that it is Darren Bent, fits the bill...
BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - hard to check bitter...but a good guess..
Why would Darren Bent sign an 18 month contract? It's likely to be someone who is injury prone or who is getting on a bit.
Have a laugh
Why would any pro footballer search out a site that you can post without leaving a name or signing upto a forum just to write some criptic clue?
if its a 'done deal' by friday then we will all know on friday

Straq is back!
Saviola? Quick, has played for Barca and Real, played at Goodison for Benfica
Since when has Darren Bent worked hard? He has to be one of the laziest players ever.
Cant believe some people are actually thinking this could be real!
I enjoy speculating new arrivals from time to time but please stop suggesting who could be responsible for that message. It's quite embarrassing. Somebody on a wind up! Don't bite!
The poster who said 'since when has Darren Bent worked hard? He has to be one of the laziest players in the Prem, ' if it is Darren Bent do you honestly expect him to describe himself by saying 'I'm very lazy, infact I'm the laziest in the Prem!' Think about it mate....

Any sensible guesses?Who fits the bill? Is have to go for Dj Campbell? Not saying id want him but at least realistic.Rob Walker

Quick word on Naismith chaps. Plenty of you picking up on his lacklustre showings of recent. I totally agree he has been below par. However I do agree with the lads saying he is uncomfortable on the right flank and will without doubt be more effective behind the striker but for injuries to our right siders. My real issue with Naisy isn't his position though, Im convinced he's simply not fit enough. Match practice/sharpness, call it what you will but for me he isn't up to speed with the pace of the premier league yet. His touch seems very erratic and often heavy, his body language also suggests he is dragging himself through games rather than cruising, we may forget his recent knee injuries. I think he'll come good over time once he is upto speed and played in his more effective role! Fingers crossed! {Ed025's Note - good post that mate...very fair..

Ive bin thinkin bout the players and the teams weve had here under moyes. Looking at the remaining league fixtures, i reckon we are looking at 30points...66 points for the season? What do you reckon?
One game at a time. Next game is most important. Don't get too far ahead of ourselves as that is when we seem to slip up.
Mike {Ed025's Note - im with you mike..
I'm also with you mike, 1 game at a time, its when we go into games expecting the win/3 points that we end of getting beaten
Completely agree. Our target should always be, 'win the next game' and then move on.
The point of everything else the club does (recruiting, developing and coaching better quality players; improving the stadium and generating income; getting more investment; getting big attendances by playing attractive, progressive, winning football) is IMHO to make 'winning the next game' more likely and therfore, obviously, winning trophies and CL qualification more likely. I think that DM has done most of that over the years. IMWT.

Bit over the top that mate he was with out doubt r stand out performer b4 the injury hes prob the most exciting player weve had since kanchelskis and your slating him. the club mite have rushed him back for all we know!

Who is interested in overpriced overpaid "big names"?...i would much rather stick to Moysies route to bringing in new players...
Gibson, Naismith, Hitzlesberger, etc...
Do what you do best Davey!!
2/3 of those aren't good enough I'm afraid mate. Hitz was a stopgap until the window I think. Naismith a decent squad acquisition but doesn't add anything but work rate to the side..
07 Jan 2013 13:57:45
I think Darren Bent would be worth a 6 month loan...just to give Jelavic a bit of pressure
Also think we need to give Heitinga more support...wasnt so long ago he was player of the season!!

All fellow blues, I was trying to get to sleep last night and my mind started to wander onto Everton as it normally does, and kept me awake for another couple of hours, anyway I was trying to work out our best team and set up with our current crop of players, this is no easy feat believe me and I am suffering now after 3 hours sleep and on a 12 hour shift, right what formation, what right back, what right wing, who sits behind Jelly etc etc, cabbaged my head, anyway I have come up with mine and its a 4-4-1-1 formation, please remember this is mine and I know some people will Knock the formation and also my inclusion of Hibbo and Ossie but I rate both these guys so here goes:
HOWARD
HIBBERT-JAGS-DISTIN-BAINES
MIRALLAS-GIBSON-FELLI-PIENAAR

Right, don't shoot me fellas, but would any of you take Torres on loan? I know he's played for the reds, and that he's flopped at Chelsea, but I reckon he's still a top striker and I think he'd bang them in for us! Just what I've been thinkin...be gentle with your responses...please.

07 Jan 2013 13:48:08
Murf top surname mate, same as mine kidder.
Torres is probably on 250k per week at Chelsea mate so if they footed the 200k then I would gladly accept him at our great club for 50k per week
Imagine what Moyes could do with this lad, there would be no softly softly approach like all the other managers have done with him and failed, a short sharp kick up the backside off Moyesee would do his confidence wonders, god was he good in his first two seasons Torres, remember him shrugging Rio off and scoring lol
Anyway seriously though mate it isnt gonna happen

If you ask me Naismith is an absolute bargain for a free. But if I'm being totally honest he wouldnt be worth much from what I've seen of him this season. Can't fault his work rate tho. The sooner mirallas is back the better. Hope he's fit for st marys
He's (Naismith) simply not a wideman, that's what it is..he'd be much better where he's more comfortable - in the middle of the park, either being the striker, or along side him. Hopefully he gets the chance to play there tonight!

All these rumours and no reliable information to back them up. Personally I think we should all stop hoping and just wait and see as we will be lucky to get one player let alone all these names being pushed around this sight. If anything is going to happen expect a loan deal. Hopefully Donovan. The only other real signing I could see would be oboe but even that keeps stalling. #trueblue coyb.

Capitalism.

Aah yes, bring on the gulags and secret police of communism - we'd all prefer that :)

49m in debt, one of the lowest debts in the prem and it is dropping, was up around 60m not long ago
people really need to actually read whole articles regarding debt and income/wages etc instead of just reading the headlines!
49m debt is at the end of the 11/12 season before the cahill deal, before the rodwell deal, before the nike deal, before the increase in season ticket sales this season, i'm getting fed up of repeating myself over and over one this one

I've learnt by now you can't second guess Moyes he very rarely is after any player that is in the media speculation roundabout so i'm going to just sit back and see what happens
