Massive disaffection creeping into support now. We have lost our way, lost our fizz and pow! Talk of players leaving and Roberto not quite knowing how to change things at mo.
Barkley has the ability to be great. but he needs to stop chewing his gum like a cow chews its cud!

We really do need a run of wins now like geordies did.

Time to wise up. unfortunately january buys a must please.

Just watched the highlights of the debacle against city again and still can't believe Mangala only got a yellow for the horrible foul on Eto'o.
In some ways it shows how much the game has evolved. I don't mean that the referee had a howler, that's always happened and probably always will, my point is that if that had happened in the past, ie Peter Reid or even Duncan Ferguson era, retribution would have been swift and Mangala would gave left the pitch in any case, either with the help of a physio or on a stretcher.
Some hard tackles are acceptable and are part of the game but a high kick to the back is unacceptable and should gave been punished, however the referee chose to turn a blind eye.
Without wishing to advocate violence on the pitch, surely someone should have let Mangala know his actions were out of order and made him suffer.
Unfortunately we don't seem to have that type of player at the club anymore.
The last layer of that type at Everton was probably Tim Cahill, imagine Mangala doing that to Arteta while Cahill was on the pitch, ouch!

I'm glad we didn't seek retribution. Going down to 10 men and losing them to ban would have left us in even worse shape than we are now. The game has moved on since the days of violence meets violence and we should all be pleased.

I agree with some of the comments & in particular G.Barry to slow getting caught in possession 2 easily reminds me a bit of phill Neville slows the team down must be slowest team on the break in the premiership all 2 easy to play against.
The team needs an overhaul to many over 30's, Eto, distin, barry, Osman, jags, Howard, Alcoraz to name a few.
Hart had 1 save to make in 93 mins same @ Spurs the previous week & @ home to Hull we ran out of steam, no energy & yet were only 14 games into the season.
Don't know if the penny has dropped yet with Martinez but teams have done their homework & just play a high line to nullify the threat of baines & Coleman down both flanks & that's it no plan b.
We look & play more like Wigan every week which is a bit of a worry.
The object of the excercise this season was to finish one place higher than last season & a champs league spot.
The only 4th were going to get is 4th from bottom if were lucky.

If you had told me a year and a half ago that I was going to write the following sentence, I would have laughed in your face, but lads and ladies:

We are desperately desperately missing Naismith.

He is a real leader on the pitch, and what a grafter aswell.

I reckon he will be at Everton for years to come, and I am content with that being the case.

Bad match officials yesterday robbed us of atleast a point, but this years end we've got some tough games coming up and a difficult schedule, so let's all get behind the team and manager and stop panicing (spelling). Imo the Jan window will be the make or break for us, but we aren't even there yet, so let's back the team till then. COYB.

Nothing will happen in January, RM has already said it, he's happy with the squad he's got stubbornly. It really is a stretched squad as it was always going to be, being in Europe, we just didn't sort it in Summer. Too old in so many areas, too many historical ijuries, suspensions about to happen as the always do from December onwards, and to many inexperienced players coming in, and those with potential going through 2nd season syndrome, Lukaku n Barkley being to the fore, not to mention those others he got in Eto'o not going to last a Season and Besic so raw at the momment is a bit too eager. But as I've said RM has made his bed and will stubbornly stick with what he's said. January won't happen, there was too much spent for us in the summer. I'll sayit again, Keep the faith, because that's all we can hope for the rest of the season. No knee jerk though, RM is the man he jus needs to ask himself if he is doing his best this season or is he suffering second season syndromme. Last season we were in awe of his sub selections, this season they have been awful and baffling, so its him aswell that needs a look.

So Mirallas has told E.f.c that if we don't make top four this season he is off, Oh well see you kevo liked you as a player because I have more chance going out for a pint with the Pope than us finishing top four!

And I suspect Lukaku won't be far behind him. There was a pressure to improve on last year not just by the fans but the players too and sadly we've gone backwards. We have a lot players way past their peak that need replacing sooner rather than later and that volume will impact the quality of their replacements

Mirrallas is another one like Fellaini that thinks he's better than he is - I'm not that bothered if he goes but I guarantee you that a current champions league team doesn't come in for him

He also suffers from Grabitus when he's within 25 yards of goal and doesn't see other players in better positions

See ya Kev

said it at the end of last season, when we qualified for Europe. The club needed big changes to compete from now on. A look at the squad said it all, the ages, the players historically injured, the suspensions and the inexperienced. We are paying for it now in spades. Its pretty much the same squad but older with Eto'o and potential and stil not there Lukaku n Besic very raw.
Yes it was one of the worst refereeing performances for many a game yesterday, but did we have enough to overcome it, do something about it, well shots on goals and general play against a weaker though still strong City showed we haven't got it.
January won't change things because like most Managers RM has belief in what he's got at the momment and sadly its stubborn belief. I think RM is the man to change us but he needs to ask himself and be honest with himself if he is doing as well as he should. Last season his subs decisions were exemplary, this they have been baffling to say the least.
Keep the faith yes but.

Ship Gareth Barry out asap - not only is he now a liability on the ball - constantly getting robbed of it or misdirecting passes or being too slow on it - but most importantly - how come if I, as a fan, am feeling totally pissed off at losing at the end of a (referee robbing) performance, he can within a few seconds of the whistle be wandering around laughing and joking with the opposition lads - he's obviously not that bothered that we lost is he? He's just turning up for the ride and for the big wedge of about 50k per game in the back pocket

If I'd been on that pitch at the end I'd have been finger jabbing it at Mariner the ref and giving him what for verbally - but some of our lads don't look bothered if we lose - and Barry is the main culprit

{Ed025's Note - thats a bit harsh imo latch, yes he had a stinker, but i dont think he is fit!, there is nothing wrong with being familiar with your ex team mates though mate, i would expect former everton players to be the same to be honest..

I agree Ed. Gareth Barry didn't have the best of games yesterday. Buto accuse him for being over familiar with his ex team mates is over the top.
I was as disappointed as any other Blue after last night's result. A penalty which should never have been given plus two violent assaults which under another ref would have resulted in two red cards; left us chasing a game (which we did admirably in the second half) which might have been won. 11 against 9 could have swung it in our favour and the the doubters would have been crowing today instead of critising.
QPR at home next week is obviously a massive game but let's not start the attacks on RM. We're better than that. Let's leave that to the Reds who surely have more to be concerned about after the money Brenda has already wasted.

That, was one of the most disgraceful refereeing performances I have ever seen. If their is any justice, the premier league will suspend this man and hold a full enquiry into his conduct and it's motivation. Yes, back in the real world, I know its never going to happen, I doubt he will even be stood down for one game, but a managers or players whos conduct fell that far below the standard that is expected, would be faceing a charge of bringing the game into disrepute.

Thought i'd change the subject a bit, well, not really. Atmosphere, its been poo all season at goodison, now, i'm thinking, some people on twitter are saying we need to sing more and get behind the team, whilst I agree they need a boost, surely, When on 40k a week (average) you should do your job properly. Home fans in every stadium has been awful this season, but, is there any point in us rallying the team and all when, after the sh*t they've produced this season, do we expect it to do any good?. I love goodison when its rocking, but lately, we have become so bloody boring that we can't be assed getting it rocking. I saw lukaku against hull trying to get us to sing, and it really does annoy me that, this season, i'd say, mirallas, eto, lukaku, naismith and mccarthy have actually gave a sh*t about the shirt, rom clearly joined thinking it would be an adventure and all, like last season, everyone loving him, I still love him, but why should him and the others remain at the club when no other player actually plays for the shirt anymore, they pick up their pay and go. Now I have to propose the odd question or 2, do the players need to buck their ideas up if they want some noise. If we want the team doing well do we have to create some noise, or are both the players and fans letting each other down this season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it's a bit of both. The fans are annoyed by our lacklustre performances, particularly at home, but the players aren't delivering at there end. There is nothing to get excited about when we play so what can we cheer? If we cheered every backwards or sideways pass then we'd have the best atmosphere in the league

Like many others i'm not too down as I expected nothing so probably would have taken that result before the game. That doesn't mean certain things don't stand out. This is what I honestly feel.OUT barry - so poor today it was shocking, distan - time to move on for sure or retire, osman - loyalty aside, he is past it, howard - with no pressure from a No. 2 he is just guaranteed a start regardless of how crap he is, hibbert - see osman, .Eto again showed his class and grit and I think lukaku is slowly getting there and is still learning. this might be a bit controversial but if city gave us 60 mil for ross I would take it. ins benteke delph bolasie and we would still have 25 mil left.i would even take 30 mil for seamus right now from chelski as looks like half the player he was last season. we all love everton but I wonder if supporters of other teams go through what we go through. last season gave us so much hope and this season i'm banging my head against the wall nearly every game.was it really everton last season who gave the arse a football lesson at the emirates? even though most problems are our own doing I would have to say what a shocking ref marriner is. the first rule of giving a penalty must surely be, its not a penalty if the player involved DOESN'T even appeal FFS

I also wonder why we didn't get a penalty for the foul on Etoo. He gave Mangala a yellow card which indicates he fouled him, but no pen? Did he play an advantage?
