Been hearing a lot of noise about a few being agrees for Austin, nothing concrete though so won't be getting excited yet! But if true this could turn out to be a cracking transfer window. Top news with mirallas signing aswell, must be something going on behind the scenes to get the players to extend contracts!

Great now all we need is a new Manager. This fella will soon knock the stuffing out of any attack minded player and turn him into a backward passing robot.

I love the way our great club goes about our business!! All the crap that's been going around in the press regarding McCarthy and that he was discussing a move to Spurs has proved to be just that, Crap!! I'm sure the same can be said about Stones and Kev too and club will announce statements when there is something to say. To many people on here read the stories and immediately jump on the manager or Bill to criticise. Where are they now??? Have faith everyone and support our great club throughout the season!!

I bet everyone will be happy by the end of the transfer window when our main players are staying and the new signings are announced.

COYB!!!

I agree that it's good how quietly, professionally, and effectively our club goes about its transfer business - but it's agony for the fans to be reading and hearing all the gossip (especially if negative) in the media and having to wait on tenterhooks for matters to be successfully concluded.
I've no doubt that agents, clubs, players, etc., all feed "stories" to the media for their own purposes - especially when contracts, transfers, etc., are being negotiated in these days of huge amounts of Premier League money. Every story in the media starts with a bit of gossip (or propaganda) being picked up by (or blatantly fed to) a reporter - it's just that once it's first appeared (and whatever truth there maybe to it), it then gets repeated and embellished ad nauseum by every media outlet until people start thinking it must be true because it's being reported in so many places. However, as I must concede, like most of our fans I crave any info about our club - and that unquenchable interest is what keeps the media in business. If nobody was interested in the info, then there'd be no money for those who peddle it I guess.

{Ed025's Note - good post that sid, and very true..

Well said Leicester some real crap on here of late of how we are a selling club with no ambition to go forward turning on our players, manager, chairman shameful :)

Having just checked, I now see that Deulofeu (like Stones) is still classed as an aged-under-21 player and therefore won't use a slot in our aged-over-21 squad. On the assumption that Garbutt (who is now over 21) won't be included because he's gone on a season-long loan, that means we will have 3 available slots in the squad and that covers the centre-back, centre-forward and number-ten that RM wants to bring in.
I really do need to thoroughly check my facts if I want to post on these matters ;-)

Find it quite concerning that a number of players have ruled out coming to us over teams such as Hull (no disrespect intended)are we that unappealing or is it our style of play or ultimately our Manager??

I was listening to RM's 'Phenomenal' interview on talksh1t this morning, and yes he used the P word a couple of times. as always he articulated well and comes over as a media darling. However I was quite impressed the way he spoke about the JT tapping of John Stones even referred to it as illegal, shame the FA have not rebuked him as well but we all know it goes on these days. He also sounded quite desperate regarding bring recruits in and I appreciate his sentiment that they need to fit into the group we already have. perhaps all to late he has realised that the likes of Kone are not the players they were at wigan and that our injuries are a real issue before the season has even started.

That's McCarthy signed now for mirallas! Players must have confidence in the manager and the club if they are extended contracts, that's one way of looking at it, stay positive :-)

Don't get me wrong I know I'm an optimist but how everyone can be so doom and gloom I don't know. When I look at all of the teams in the Premier there's literally not one team with the amount of young talent that we have: Lukaku, Barkley, Stones, McCarthy are the backbone of that and considering their age they are very experienced.

With players like these plus Deulofeu, Garbutt, Besic, Browning, Galloway not to mention the boys that are closer to their prime like Coleman, Mirallas and Cleverly (who has surprisingly impressed me). We actually have the opportunity to build something big and that's what Martinez is trying to do. Get behind him and the club. They don't want to sell our best players or we would have 30mil for Stones but now and 30+ for Barkley from last summer.

Howard
Coleman Stones Jags Baines
McCarthy Cleverly
Deulofeu Barkley Mirallas
Lukaku

Yes we need to make sure we strengthen our squad but I'm getting behind Martinez - he's told us he wants three and if we don't get them then we can be disappointed because that's a big let down. Get around them tomorrow and COYB. 3 points and top of the table tomorrow night ;)

People underestimate how good cleverly is, he was a scape goat when things went wrong at Utd, I watched him when he was at Wigan seemed a different player to the one we have seen over last 2 seasons, but he is a good signing free as well and"quote best years ahead of him". He will fit in he gives energy that Barry has not got, Barry should be used sparingly now I mean should not start every game I would like to see us go 4-3-3 this season if fit with our current squad

Howard

Coleman. Stones. Jagielka. Baines.

Besic.
Macarthy. Cleverly.

Barkley. Mirralas
Lukaku
