gud point today, shame we didn't hold on. the next two games are must win. we stil have a shout of europe! it ain't over til its mathematically impossible.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

A good point, but you cannot play 11 men on defense in a turtle shell for 25 minutes ( actually the entire second half ). We have made a habit of trying to protect one goal leads all season. Is it about 20 points we've surrendered from a winning position? Good game though. Think of Barkley as how Seamus Coleman was 6 months ago. Barkley needs time. And Victor is quite the beast.

Good point today but we really should have won, silly goals we're conceding are ridiculous. I'm also looking forward to see Barkley getting more game time, made for the lad. Also a cracking goal from Mirallas who's improved in the last couple of weeks. QPR and Arsenal are must win games now.

Arsenal fan here,

Just wanted to say good result for you today at the lane. Everton deserved to win the game despite tottenham's possession. a draw is good for arsenal though :) c u in a few weeks at the emirates. hopefully we smash you!

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Was going to hit 'agree' until the last sentence!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if you do beat us then I'm sure you will all give your team a jolly good round of applause sat there all well behaved in your padded seats. Honestly I have never known a ground to lack atmosphere more than arsenals. It's a fantastic arena but it might as well be empty than have 60k arsenal fans in it.

Toffee ace.

I thought Anichebe was very good today - worked his socks off yet again, played on through injury, held the ball up well, only criticism was the miss when he was one on one with the keeper late on. Barkley struggled I thought - was pressured by 2 or 3 Tottenham players every time he got the ball and couldn't keep possession or pass the ball well enough - but it's all part of him gaining experience in the first team. Another excellent goal by Mirallis. Howard made some very good saves. Jelavic was a little selfish and maybe should have passed to better placed team mates a couple of times, but I guess it's a sign of his undiminished confidence that he tried the shots himself. Worried that Baines got skinned by Walker on a few occasions, but I think that's why he needs Pienaar in front of him. Rest of the team fairly solid for most of the match. With Fellaini and Pienaar we'd have won I reckon, but if they'd had Bale, Lennon and Defoe, we'd have struggled to contain them.

Forget Barkley and bring back Neville.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville has gone gone gone

Anichebe just doesn't have that self belief and confidence to stay calm in front of goal - he's a smasher grabber

he could have dinked the ball over the spurs keeper - but he wacks it against his legs - just calm down lad in front of goal - easier said than done but the top players seem to be able to do it

To all the doom mongers who have had a go at the team or the manager today, well we played a team 3rd in the league, away from home, and but for a late goal, would of took the 3 pts. Yes, they had influential players missing, but so did we. We're still in this fellas, its going to be hard. but we're still in it. It is, to a certain extent, in our own hands, with games against Arsenal and Chelsea to come, as I say, it will be tough, but where there's life, there's hope, so stop moaning and get behind the team, Remember, no one makes you support Everton, if you don't like it, move on, and support someone else, and for the rest of us, we'll support you through thick and thin, because we're Evertonians, and no matter how good or bad times are, we'll always be Evertonians, because it's all we know. So get behind the Blue boys lads, and hopefully, we might just nick a European spot

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Anyone moaning about today, is seriously messing and need to look at the facts bale Defoe Lennon and gallas replaced by dempshey holtby sigudsson and caulker. spurs have a quality squad and still we nearly beat them. We are competing with 5 sides above us who have invested heavily and we are competing and beating them. proud of blues

It was always going to be tough game

Needs to be warped in cotton wool to get to the end of the season Barkley did well but must mature on the ball if he is
To progress in the team

Barkley is showing signs of class and signs of maturing, quiet today but he's was disciplined in the role he had to play. spurs away tough game and will only help him in his development, will be a real star in years to come

I think people need to realise that we went away today to a team who have spent millions, (admittedly missing a few key players but so were we. ) and were unlucky not to come away with all 3 points. I'll tell you what it wasn't today, it wasn't David Moyse's fault. He went 4-4-2 after 51 minutes to give us the best chance of winning the game. It nearly worked. We didn't sit back today we were forced back by what is still a very attacking team who are extremely difficult to beat at home. Some people on here need to give there heads a wobble and start supporting the team. Rant over. Haha!

Brilliant point at the lane, people moaning because we had the lead but so did they after 30 seconds so stoppmoaning we have took 4 points from them this season and tottenham are one of the best squads in the prem. we defended well today with are backs against the wall, anichebe was class amazing how much he has come on this season, people are sayin that we've no chance of top 4 but I don't care what they say because I know we can still get it and I am gna keep beleiveing till the last game, plus fellaini and pienaar will be fresh as next game, barkley looked out of his depth aswel moyes is right again that he isn't ready! tom

I get so effin fed up reading negative posts by some of our so called supporters. First they all want Barkley in. He plays today and is absolutely average. Still too young in my opinion. Worth a go, but todays performance shows Moyes is right in not rushing him in.
After fighting back from an early set back, we take the lead at a very difficult ground whilst playing without two of our better players. We are playing an expensively assembled team/squad who are 3rd in the league and pretty awesome at home. Our second goal is absolutely class. We then end up defending a bombardment in which our keeper (who gets no mention of praise) makes two or three brilliant saves. The tactics by the manager nearly got us the three points and all I hear is, "it's Moyes fault, Oviedo should be playing, Osman is rubbish etc".
In my humble opinion, Moyes has worked wonders and look at the QPR V Wigan game to see what we might end up with if that's the sort of manager you want.
OH BY THE WAY. CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL IS ALMOST GUARANTEED WITH THEM! OR BANKRUPCY!

Rant over.

oh my god, yet again everton can't hold on to the lead in a game and we've lost 2 points.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

07 Apr 2013 16:23:47
Ah we were so close. again. I guess I would have probably taken a draw before the game, but sort of feels like 3 points dropped. I was surprised when we lined up with 4 at the back and Heitinga holding, it was probably the right decision. Considering we were already losing after 40 seconds the team fought back well to get to 2-1 up (sidenote: Kevin Mirallas is just brilliant) but we threw it away again. We sat back, as per, and allowed Spurs to throw wave after wave at us and, frankly, we were fortunate to survive for as long as we did. Anichebe and Jelavic both had good chances at 2-2, Anichebe really should have scored (but I thought he had a good game on the whole). OSMAN! I thought he was really poor today. Some of his passing was useless and he seemed very very tired/uneager to track back. In fairness, he's played so much this season, but it's frustrating. Why doesn't Oviedo play more? It was pleasing that Barkley got a start, and he didn't do too badly, but Bryan really deserves more gametime, as does, probably, Vellios. A win would've been absolutely massive today, but we'll have to settle for a point. We're not out of it yet! All we can do is get behind the team, win all of our easy home games, and pray that other teams slip up! If they do, and we do well on the road, we might just see European football and David Moyes as manager next season! COYB!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

You're mad osman was brilliant today

Agree0 Disagree0

Osman brilliant? What game were you watching? He lost possession so many times, ran the ball out of play. It wasn't one of his best performances.

21 points dropped when we were winning because dour David is so bloody negative.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

So how many have we retained because of him again focus on the negative thought people on here where supporters of the club

Agree0 Disagree0

The main reason why we won't be finishing in the top 4 this season. inexcusable to drop that amount on points from winning positions. Of course, having a fit Mirallas for the whole season (what a player he is) would of dropped that amount, but still it is far too high for a team chasing European ambitions, in fact any team in the league.

To compare to our main rivals, I remember reading Arsenal have only dropped something like 6pts from winning positions. 17pt difference!

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps we have been ahead more times than Arsenal then? Always look on the bright side of life?
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

So I suppose the 52 points he has got us mean nothing then?

Btw if anyone disagreed with my last post. It was just that so much nonsense has been posted on here lately that I thought I'd join in.

IN MOYES WE TRUST

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh and Manchester United have dropped something like 19 pts from winning positions and are going to win the league!

But you don't feel the need to mention that, do you?

Oh dear when are you going to learn Davey?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Expand on your statement! Why was that DM's fault? -If anything Baines failed to defend well today he got beat to often by Walker today. That's where the threat came from!
Still massive point and all still to play for - take a look at next four games - we could still be in the mix with 3 games left. Would have taken that!
Barry m

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times been in this position and gifted goals away Davey is a serial looser full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes could have addressed the problem on our left by throwing on Oviedo and doubling up on Walker. He had too much pace for Baines all afternoon and Baines, imo, was at fault, for diving in for their equaliser. I'm not having a pop at the lad but he could and should have done better. But all in all, I think a draw was a fair reflection.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

If that's the case ed imo if he's not 100pc fit I don't think we should even risk him on the bench. were going to need a fully fit mirallas as well as a rested and refreshed felli and peanuts with these tough but winnable away games coming up. {Ed025's Note - its a catch 22 situation for me jimmy, damned if you play him, damned if you dont, for me this is a must win game if we are to challenge for top 4, and with felli and peanuts both suspended, we are crying out for a match winner, and kevin certainly fits that bill for me mate..

Why can't people look at the positives?
moyes has pushed the board into a possistion where they have to back him with money in the new season, he knows as well as we all do that the team needs new younger players that will cost and he's saying to the bard back me or I can't go any further. Is this not what we have all been wanting him to do in the past get out of bed with bill and stand up and put the club before his relationship with the chairman. I think everyone should be happy with what he is doing yes it looks bad on the face of it but I don't think the man would disrespect the club that has brought his carear so far beacuse we have been as good to moyes as he as been to us so ignore the papers and the tv and let's see where this takes us if he leaves at the end of the season you can all say I told you so but I for one can't see it.

Big Tommy - Litherland

Believable3 Unbelievable4

I booed him, and I'm not sure what you mean by feel guilty. I admit I booed him but if you mean do I feel like I shouldn't have done it, then no. A player will get booed if he doesn't put enough effort in. And on the day he didn't put the effort in. I love Felli, but I don't love him enough to say, "Thanks for your top performances this season mate, have a day off and tell the whole team to while you're at it. "

The Toffee faithful will take to a player who puts 100% in, but putting 100% in for 90% of the season isn't good enough. If he's knackered then that's understandable, it just means he won't be as good as other days, but he can still put 100% in.

I finish with this quote: "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum".
