Hi Eds,

I posted some months back and wasn't
sure if you responded or found
anything out regarding the changes
in Ground safety that means all
wooden flooring has to go by 2013,
which I think we have in either the
Lower Bullens or the Paddock.

In a nutshell if we don't do remedial work to change the wooden flooring that area of the ground has to close.

I was hoping with you links in the club you may have heard something, or if there was a cunning plan?

Big C {Ed025's Note - im not sure on this one big c....but im sure that it will be addressed, i know sometimes the club have been negligent in some areas, but that would be sheer incompetence!...but the ground is becoming an issue, it needs sorting asap..

What about hatem ben arfa hes just like dempsey but there seems to be no interest in him from other clubs.

How much would he cost ? {Ed025's Note - too much mate..he is one of the reasons the toon are doing so well

Believable0 Unbelievable1

We had a chance to sign him a couple of years ago, another 1 that got away

Not meaning to be pessimistic but is it really logical to think that even if we had the money for Dempsey that he would join? Were only 1 point above Fulham with one game lef and im sure that he will want one more big move in his career and while I would love that to be us I really cant it,anyway we have no money lol
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - everton are a massive club joe!...fulham, bless their cotton socks, are not in the same bracket mate..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

We beat Fulham 4-0 last weekend surely this is one reason he'd join?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont be silly Dempsey wont come, no one will. It will be a couple of loan signings the last week in August. {Ed025's Note - can you put a name to your post?.....doubting thomas will do!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we are much better than Fulham but I just think he'll join another club that gives him a big pay day hopefully not though
Joe EFC {Ed024's Note - He would be great for us and he would fit well into our style of play, he would love it at goodison, it depends how much moyes has to spend and who leaves

this isnt a rumour its an enquiry. What happens to the european place if chelsea win the champions league? does the european place come to the league?

If it does come to the league position, would everton qualify for the europa league if we were to finish 7th?

everton for europe {Ed025's Note - whatever happens mate..7th will not be a european spot..

Gutted we couldn't finish Wolves off today. Thought the lads put in a decent performance all over the pitch, just maybe tried to be a bit to pretty on the ball at times. I was surprised that Faddy got the nod over Magaye as I thought it was the sort of game he could have had an impact on.
I keep listening and reading that Barkley should be starting ahead of the likes of Gueye and Faddy but to be honest after watching him come off the bench at Goodison a couple of weeks ago, I still think he would be a risk to start with to be honest just because he gave the ball away cheaply to often during his time on the pitch, although I would like to see him come off the bench more regularly now. Next season hopefully will be his time to make the impact we've been waiting for.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

McFadden started because Moyes wanted to give him a chance to prove he is worth a contract, Barkley and Guaye will be part of the squad for years to come, McFadden could be out on his ass after next week, so Moyes just doing the decent thing and giving the guy a chance to prove his worth, or at least put himself in the shop window for another club to sign him.
Svenny {Ed025's Note - the latter i hope svenny..

Any slightest whisper if anyone wants to invest in us? Money for a new ground or to help Moysey attract and retain the quality? Man it drives me mad to see the 2nd rate vultures hovering over the olympic stadium and all we have are a series of horrible stories confirming Government indifference and business failure. HELP!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Nothing new about us, did read in the telegraph today that the qatari royal family are now looking at either Newcastle or Fulham........ really does make me wonder why Everton get overlooked so much.

Can we all take it by the lack of 1st team football Ross Barkley is getting, that he will be sacrificed at the end of the season to get some money in. To be honest you can't blame him if he does want to go, should of had more playing time of late. {Ed025's Note - i hope your wrong mate!..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Moyes will use barkley next season, he wanted him to get a run of games in the second string and then introduce him when his game developed, we will get a much better player when we see him again

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

I think David moyes has been way to reluctant with youth this year and it's made it disappointing for youth progression I thought Duffy was great so was vellios now they don't even regularly break the bench. Ross barkley who is a very intelligent footballer and is really effective in the final third a place where we struggled in at the start of the season wasn't given a sniff of game time. Magaye Gueye has had his good spells and bad spells but he hasn't had a consistent run in the team neither has Coleman I know it's due to form but he's got to be building for the future by getting youth up to the measures of the premier league by exposing them to it I think Barkley and vellios have been really under exposed but it could benefit them from having a injury prone career like Vaughan, anichebe and now maybe rodwell. But still I would have liked to have seen a youth player have a successful break through season which none have had, hopefully next year the likes of Barkley Baxter and vellios will break through I honestly think Baxter is ready maybe he could do with another loan move but if you play him and Barkley together we could have found something very special both have very good link up play with each other and good in build up play. But I am quite disappointed with not having a real break through season for any of the youth players - blue kangaroo {Ed025's Note - its a very fine line you know kanga...if he plays kids , and we lose, he will get slated...if we dont play them he gets it in the neck...while he is the manager, we have to respect his judgement, he is in a far better position to judge than us mate..

Jelavic goal onside don't know what was wrong with Stracqualursi's but who cares a points and point and Stracqualursi signed my shirt ! buzzing true blue {Ed025's Note - nice one mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Felli was offside for strac's, he didn't touch the ball but the flag went up as he challenged for it so they have to give offside for it, stupid rule really

Not a rumour but can anyone tell me if this is true. If Chelsea win Champions league they will qualify for Europe next season, Liverpool already playing in Europa league and If Tottenham also finish in the top 4 will we get the Europa league place from the FA Cup?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No. if chelsea win the champions league and finish outside the top 4 then they will take the place of whoever finished 4th (4th place will become europa league)

Agree0 Disagree0

Will people stop coming on here about europe we cant get there no matter what now.Terry blue

frustrating. I know we had a goal and a penalty wrongly disallowed but still we should of won. need the sh*te to at least draw one of there next 3 games and we HAVE to win newcastle last game of the season, gutting that Hibbo didn't score today too!
Toffeepidge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They only have 2 games left not 3

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh right thought they had 2 games in hand on us, they either have to draw one, or we have to beat Newcastle, we can't have them gobs*tes finishing above us

Agree0 Disagree0

We actually have slightly better GD believe it or not so even if we lose to Newcastle we can finish above them if they draw with Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only 3 goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah only 3 goals.......but isn't that what Carrolls scored all season?!

06 May 2012 16:05:29
what a fustrating perfromance, so much possesion and domination and we couldnt score, magauye come on and done nothing, denis same, i really feel liverppol will beat chelsea and move 1 point behind us, that means we have to BEAT newcastle next week or if liverpool beat swansea we could end up 9th (with fulham winning today) {Ed024's Note - I think it might be a draw at anfield which would mean we would be almost certain of finishing above them and fulham have to go to white hart lane on the last game of the season which is tough. I think we will get 7th

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope so ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully gibson and neville will be back next week to make the midfield stronger {Ed024's Note - Hopefully, they are a steadying influence

Agree0 Disagree0

Really disappointed with Oman today, couldn't hit the pass, didn't show any conviction when in possession, he tends to leave a lot of his ability in the dressing room too often for me. Has good games but too many average ones! Hope to see someone such as Dempsey as a replacement! Possibly even Barkley next season if funds are an issue.

Chris {Ed025's Note - i have said before, that he lacks consistency...hes a good lad leon, but for me, will only ever be a squad player..

Agree0 Disagree0

Far too guilty of trying to walk the ball into the net! We played well but have to shoot more! Drawing with a poor already relagated wolves side is just not good enough! A win today would of almost guaranteed a 7 th place finish above the s**te! We have to beat an inform Newcastle next week! Either way what a fantastic end to the season! {Ed024's Note - I can't believe we didn't win, we were so on top and we deserved the 3 points, but that happens in football

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Osman was a bit poor for me - loses ball too easy - overplays it arond the box - stumbles over it - yes he's had good games here n there - but the difference between osman and say a donovan or another 'quality' player could be the difference between 7-8th in the league and 3-5th in the league - we just need that extra couple of quality players - we're close now - just a couple of decent players away - come on bill - help moyesy bridge the gap (or you'll lose him in a couple of seasons if you don't - this summer may be our last big chance)

Ed, any idea on why Vellios never features for us anymore? Dont think he's injured, and surely he deserves a place at least on the bench?

AJ :] {Ed024's Note - The lad is still young and learning, he will be back next season, we had reinforcements in January so we didn't need him as much in the second half of the season

David Moyes was in attendance at Crewe Alexandra yesterday watching teenage prospect Nick Powell against Aldershot.
The Blues' boss was joined in the crowd by Sir Alex Ferguson and his assistant Mike Phelan to scout the 18 year-old who has been turning heads in League Two this season with 15 goals.

Powell has 50 appearances already under his belt for Crewe and has represented England at U-16, U-17 and U-18 levels.

Original Source:

Does anyone know what position he plays
Blue kaz {Ed025's Note - hes an attacking midfielder kaz..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is quality

Agree0 Disagree0

We have Ross Barkley no point in signing Powell

Agree0 Disagree0

Can never have enough quality there lad. I don't think we will sign him considering the other teams chasing him, but with Moyes we tend to adopt a sort of 4-2-3-1 now, and imagine a 3 in the future of Ross Barkley, George Green and Nick Powell, all have potential to be England's next stars, and would all be at Everton. {Ed024's Note - There are a lot of quality youngsters who will break through into the team in the next couple of seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine this:
Davies
Browning duffy dier garbutt
Fellani Holtby
Barkley Green Powell
Baxter
Blue kaz {Ed025's Note - good side kaz..in a few years..

Agree0 Disagree0

All good but Baxter, come on mate mcalany, forrister and hope are all better prospects than him and also how could you leave out the duffus brothers!

On rodwell...how excited we all were when he broke in, clearly the lad has talent, stil has potential and has clearly been very unfortunate with the injuries. BUT...if we do keep him (dont think moyes wants to sell, but if a bid comes it would obv have to be considered) what position do we see him in the future?
At the start of the season around that derby game when he got sent off, him and fellaini started to look class together. Looked like it could be a perfect midfield duo, passing, aggression, determination and it looked like the understanding was there. So...holding midfielder then?
Again, BUT the season before when he was more advanced, he showed glimpses of quality going forward that we just didnt have at the time, scoring a couple of goals and looking like he could run the midfield with fellaini behind him. So... Box to box midfielder then?
BUT... People (ed25 included ) think he has the making of a class centre back were he played most of his youth career as. ( personally, i dont think he has the strenght to play centre back, anyone like a drogba could bully him but i could well be wrong, and thevdrog can bully anyone if he wants to) so is he a centre back then?
With fellani being unplayable at the mo, weather hes behind jelavic or next to gibson in the midfield, and us having 3 quality cb's at the mo aswell, i cant see him featuring as much as we wanted a few years ago. I know we never have a fully fit squad all season, so i would love to keep him, and see him develop into a complete footballer ( without injuries, i really think he could be )
Just asking my fellow blues, where do we see jack inthe future? Hopefully in a blue shirt, but where will he play?
Thoughts blues?
IMWT always.
Molly888 {Ed025's Note - centre back for me molly..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I love rodders, hate to see him go. couldnt care less if there was a 20mil+ bid on the table, hes a quality MIDFIELDER who i think should play alongside felli in a sort of 4231 formation that way they can both bomb forward in turns and boss midfields together, he can defend and can attack what more can we ask for?..hes an english toffee and to me personally thats a making of a future captain? just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Can i ask then ed25, what makes you so sure he is a centre back? I have never seen him play so i cannot comment, he defo has the brain to play there, we know that was his position in his younger days, just wondering if moyes sees different as he has no probs throwing him in the midfield were again he has qualities?
I just cant see him being commanding in the air, thats my main weakness with him at centre back, i know every centre half duo has a ball winner, and a footballer, just to me Duffy looks more solid in that position?
Thought?thanks again ed's, great site.
Ps ed25, you must be buzzing with jelavic as i saw for months how much you wanted him, and how wellhes done in his first season!? {Ed025's Note - rodders at centre back is just my opinion mate, he played there when he was younger, for me he has all the attributes to fit in there, reads the game well, tall and strong, very much in the mould of rio ferdinand...maybe im just trying to fit him in somewhere, as it hurts me when our academy stars go elsewhere and benefit someone else..

I hope this will be our squad next season
GK- Howard
RB- Douglas
CB- Heitinga
CB- Jagielka
LB- Baines
RM- Jarvis
CM- Dempsey
CM- Gibson
CM- Fellaini
LM- Pienaar
ST- Jelavic

Bench
Foster
Armero
Duffy
Junior
Barkley
Gueye
Rodriguez

It probably won't happen but I all we have to do is sell a few players and this could be a real squad for next season.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

That is at least 6 high profile departures, unlikely!

Agree0 Disagree0

No way would Moyes change his squad that drastically, he will look to add one or two new cheap faces to the squad, but his priority, like always, will be to keep the core together. {Ed024's Note - i agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas is a CB, Moyes would never play such a young bench all season, you missed out Cahill, no strikers on the bench

Hi ED
just been reading and i have not post in a while, but in the summer where not sure what bugget we have but our main focus is getting Peanuts long term, but if that happens i belive we won't buy any one else, but if we can go all out and get these two people i think we will have a great squad next year if this happens IMO

Peanuts (sign 3-5mil)
Hoilet (go all out and get him long term contract) Free But 2milin tribual for being under 21
rodallga (great back up for jelly) Free
Pranjic (great back up player) Free

And if we can't get Peanuts we should try and get a good winger/Attack Mid (with the funds we have)

i No it's only 3-4 players and the cost would be around 3-7mil depending on a deal for Peanuts and hoilett
and that would give us a all round good hard working squad
Y0rksh1re_blue {Ed025's Note - i like that mate..well done!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think Hoilett will be going for around 5mil from the tribunal, has been at the club since he was 13. I personally think he will go to a top 4 club, but your right, there is no reason why we shouldn't at least go all out and attempt to get him, doesn't hurt us, if he doesn't come we move on.

He is the type of player, much like Dempsey, who I think could push us up to that top 6 and compete for Europe.

If that summer were to happen, I would be really happy, sort out our two wingers, as well as back up winger/left back in Pranjic and back up for Jelavic. {Ed024's Note - There are definitely interesting options in the transfer market for everton

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2012 21:27:57
Dempsey is looking more and more likely with even more reports liking him to us as his preferred club to move to. It'd probably cost us £8m to nab him, and while I believe he's worth it, I don't think we'll be able to fork out that much. {Ed025's Note - unfortunately...i think your right..
