Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

It's good fun to say which players we, as fans, would like to come into our club and who we want to leave - and I enjoy the craic as much as the next fan - but my basic attitude is that as long as the changes to the squad improve the performances and results of the first team, then I'm not too worried about named individuals.
As for the fees paid/ received for transfers and the wages paid to players, its all Monopoly money these days and it's for the club, not the fans, to worry about getting value (whatever that might be) .
If RK/ SW/ etc. can make the transfers they want, then all well and good, but it will surely take several transfer windows to effect the changes they want, especially as our nett spending on fees and wages is subject to financial fair play limits irrespective of how much we supposedly have in a "war chest".
In a few years, if we have a new stadium, improved commercial and sponsorship deals, and on-field success (e. g. European qualification and maybe a domestic cup) , then we might see even better players being attracted to our club.
Final thought: our fans have a range of favourite players and a range of whipping-boys, so there'll never be consensus about who stays and who goes; I'm glad the club's transfer policy isn't subject to a vote by the fans - that'd make the Brexit vote (and post-result arguments) appear positively calm and civilised!

Hi Cowpat I like that, GuernseyBlue.

Any new players would be an improvement the way some of our lot are playing now.

January players out Mccarthy, Kone, oviedo, Lennon, Cleverley, Gibson, who would you like in?

Would like to keep McCarthy. As for who I'd like to come in? I'd have better chance of winning the lottery than picking the players I'd like to see us sign.

Find it strange you want to keep Niasse!

I'd like strootman or scneiderlein, sule, rudy, dolberg. so that's 2cm, striker and centreback.

I watch a lot of Serie A football and would be very disappointed if we ended up with Strootman and Gabiadini. I think they are both average at best. And after seeing Strootman's behaviour in the Rome derby, in which he got an opponent sent of after falling down like he'd been shot after a slight shirt tug, I think we should steer well clear. As many posters have said, we're just going to have to be patient, VERY patient!

I agree we are going to have to be patient.

But isn't our strength the people that make the choices of recruiting. They can recognise players that appear average but have greater potential.

Example Gana and more recently Valencia. Ok, Valencia only played well last Sunday but that was his first chance really. He could turn out to be another shrewd bit of business. Gana is our better player so far. He was in a relegated team last season.

Everyone were saying how they weren't excited by him when we signed him. Valencia could turn out the same also. Who knows who else will fall under that category.

Walsh has a record of this. I have every faith in him.

I don't understand how the FA have not suspended the 2 Man Utd players involved in serious fouls on our players. They certainly both deserved red cards and as far as I understand the rules, if the officials do not see the incidents, the FA can intervene and impose charges and bans afterwards. Well they must not have seen the heel to Coleman's head or that would have certainly been a straight red. I suppose the Rojo 2 footed tackle was seen so yes he luckily escapes.

Degsy I was only wondering that. if a ref sends someone off who should not have been it can be overturned on appeal. but I was wondering why is it that because a ref sees something that nothing can be done. obviously rojos challenge was a red card offence so either the ref bottled it or didn't see it from the right angle which leads me towards thinking he didn't see it properly. by the letter of the law he should have been sent off so why is it he goes unpunished. i know the rule but it seems a bit ridiculous.

06 Dec 2016 13:43:16
Sadly Degsy, The F. A cannot increase the punishment from a yellow to a red and implement a ban. So once a player has been booked then that's it.

The Ibrovi heel to the head is a different matter but I am not sure how it works, Maybe a club needs to lodge a complaint before action is taken otherwise they would end up having to watch every single game from all of the leagues.

Maybe an Ed: can shed some light on this.

{Ed002's Note - All of the games are viewed. Any incidents raised (which is rare) are then discussed.}

06 Dec 2016 17:02:38
Well that is exactly how I saw it. Nothing can be done about the two footed tackle because the ref saw it. but the heel to the head was discussed bt the pundits on tv and they all agreed that it was "naughty" and deserved a red. Usually under those circumstances the FA seem to follow what has been said by the TV pundits. I am guessing they feel obliged? However nothing has been said by the FA and no retrospective punishment administered? I find that quite amazing. However, Mourinho has just been whinging about being picked on and treated differently (in the same way as Sir Alex Fergusen used to) so guess some leniency will be shown to him and United for a while.

Here's a question for ed002 you seem to be in the know. if for example when rodwell was sent off for his challenge on Suarez a few years ago and the decision was overturned, do the FA have the powers to say red card overturned for player A and a punishment should be handed for player B for diving or trying to cheat? only mentioning the rodwell incident because its an Everton page but I'm sure this could be based on lots of other incidents.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Nominally yes, practically no because they don't want to go through an appeals process that would clog everything up. And I understand the frustration of fans byt the FA want to avoid punishment by slo-mo or whatever. It is a suck it up and move on scenario.}

Morning. Not a rumour as such, after some help please. Arguing with a manc in work last night, his summary if the game is that they should've won 5 or 6 nil, rojos may have been a red, we had a definite red (he can't remember what but nearly made him feel sick) and that zlatan didn't mean anything in Coleman (I'm adamant he meant it) . My favour is, can anyone mention the Everton 'definite red' please (He is a deluded 73 year old. )

Barrys 1st challenge on Ibramdicovic should have been a yellow and the deliberate hand ball should have been yellow. thtas all I can think off but then Barrys handball shouldn't count because Rojas would not have been on the pitch so it would not have happened as it did.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2016 10:47:32
There were no serious fouls by any of our players at all. Rojos was a definate red and he was only helped by poor officials and Gueye not making a meal of the tackle by rolling around. Zlatan purposely left his boot in on Seamus head as replays showed. How united could have won by 5 or 6 is baffling as they had only 2 shots on target and were holding on to a one goal lead with 20 minutes to go by time wasting.
If i was you i wouldn't waste any time arguing with armchair supporters anyways.

On a scale of 0 to 10 (0 is no chance - 10 is nailed-on certainty) , what are the chances that the spine of the first-team will have been strengthened by the end of the January transfer window by bringing in a goalkeeper, another centre-back, another centre-midfielder and another centre-forward?

I'd say 3 of the 4 sid, the only one I don't think we'll get is a keeper. That'll be the summer.

We all need to be realistic in January. It's always been a hard time to get quality players.

About a 1, a 2 if we are lucky.

06 Dec 2016 17:48:11
I'm going to be quite optimistic and say 5! I expect two or three to be brought in when the window opens. I agree January isn't the best time to buy but we missed out on a few targets in the summer and we need to strengthen. I don't think RK is too impressed with some of his current squad, it's debatable as to whether that is down to their talent or to their attitudes, so I think he will want to add a few asap. Hopefully, the new scouting network has been earning its coin and found a few players that could strengthen the team.

The energy and intensity of our team is in question - imagine if we'd had to cope with midweek European matches and a run in the EFL Cup.

I don't think it is as such Sid. Imho its a case of it taking time to work.

RK clearly likes Mirallas - he keeps selecting him (as a starter or off the bench) but should we transfer him if we get a decent offer for him in January? We need to move players out to create room in the 25-man squad for incoming signings AND we need to keep our nett spending on fees and wages within the financial fair play limits. Moving out Mirallas and several others will facilitate this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Dec 2016 07:46:42
There are many players ahead of him to be moved on. Start with the worst of them and get them out of the club. If we can get a couple of strikers I'd boot Lukaku out before someone who actually trys every game when he's on yhe pitch.

After that you are looking at improving on players who are good but we want better.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Dec 2016 09:39:40
There is no way I would move Mirallas on. Of all the outfield players who score goals, there is only Lukaku and Barkley who have done better in their careers over a sustained period. He did seem to lose something during Martinez's time, but it seems to be coming back now. He has the ability to run at players, turn and shoot. something we lack in abundance. Bolasie is injured for the season so we need him now.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Dec 2016 03:28:57
In RK's preferred 4-3-3 formation, the job of the front 3 (the "strikers") is to create and score goals. Bolasie has created goals this season and Lukaku has scored goals this season. Have any of the other forward players been productive enough? The defenders and midfielders chip in with occasional goals, but it's the front three who have to do the most on the scoring front. Valencia might come good, but the others - Mirallas, Deulofeu, Lennon, Kone and Niasse - just don't deliver. Some U23 players might get a chance, but we really need to make changes to the forwards in our aged-over-21 squad in January if we can - and certainly in the Summer when transfers might be more achievable.
