Well another match over, I know it's pre season etc and I'm not really bothered about the results, although it is disappointing not to have won yet and I feel that it would help quite a lot as I think Leicester will go into the first game having won all preseason games, including against us and they will go into the match full of confidence, I feel we have been very poor on the whole and there is serious room for improvement, the European teams press so so well onto us and give us no time at all I'd love if we could adopt that trait but onto tonights player performance, Howard-wasn't really at fault for the goals, will be our no.1 Joel-not much to do, will be our no.2 Tony- not his best day at the office, got the feeling this is 1 year too many. Stones- probably his worst performance in an everton shirt this or Liverpool away but granted he was out of position then Distin- looked pretty solid as per, one stupid back pass to Joel, just got away with it Browning-looked good playing LB really one for the future, McCarthy- not his best game but will prove vital for us this season Besic- I'm always willing us to pass to him almost like I am with barkley, will be an incredible player no doubts, Ross-looked good, unlucky not to score Aiden- very very quick, will prove to be a useful squad player and impact sub IMO Gibbo- looked good, happy he's back, will be important for the season Ossie-didn't do much really. Naismith- very wasteful today but top top guy and usually a very good finisher
Still think we need another winger cough cough nolito cough and a striker. someone said Koné is injured again and out for a few months, if so this is rediculous, should release him, too much wages effectively down the drain, ed are Coleman, Lukaku and Mirallas going to be ready to start the first game? How can we have let Mirallas stay out until 10 days before the season starts?!

{Ed025's Note - coleman may struggle D, but i expect rom and kev to be good to go..

Fifa rules say a player must be allowed 4 weeks rest after the season finishes. The World Cup was part of the season hence Kev coming back late. That said, the player doesn't have to take 4 weeks if he feels he should be back earlier.

I think this is the most shambolic pre-season I can remember for a long time. Oviedo, Kone, Gibson, Pienaar all seem to be less than fully fit, whilst we haven't added any additional quality to the squad - Barry and Lukaku were already there last season and essentially all we have done is swapped Delafeou for Bescic. not great so far!

Pips get real we have made big signings and more to come we have also tied imo the best youth in the premier league down to long term contracts some people r never happy

Let's hope the poor pre season performances will get Martinez to see sense and get some more players in. We need 3 or 4. The squad is nowhere near strong enough

Im all for giving kone a chance but I've just been told he's injured himself again and will be out for a couple more months, too bad, so sad, if we can't sell him then release him, what a bad day!

I know it's only pre-season and I know we've had a world cup but it's been pretty shambolic so far.

First off we didn't seem at all organised with fixtures as we only had two organised up to a couple of weeks ago. To add to that half the team has been off and with 10 days to go I would have expected them at least to be training together and getting a bit of game time.

The results never bother me too much but we seem more than a couple of weeks away from being ready.

And I hope to god Coleman will be ready!

Can our confidence take a knock if we keep on not winning in pre saeson? We are currently 2-1 down V Celta Vigo, just wondering, after-all momentum is a good thing isn't it? and at this current time we have no momentum.

Don't worry about pre season mate. They're all still on holiday.

Besic 'll sort em out 2nd half, hopefully! Stones and Barkley need a kick up their backsides.

McCarthy looks like he's settled any doubters about him staying and to be honest it was a bit of a none story anyway. Journo's will pounce on anything, especially in pre season.

What I would say though is I don't think Bobby would hesitate in selling any player if it was a great price and an alternative is out there or someone in the squad capable in taking their place. He's said himself he loves a bit of wheeling and dealing and he's not afraid of selling anyone in the squad.

I think during his time with us we will see him sell some senior players. A Mirallas or even a Baines, Coleman or Stones and I think it's because he is confident in finding the next big thing or a player to come from the youth system.

This is the reason he is buying youth and investing heavily in playing existing ones and buying ones to go straight into the U21's/19's.

So if he does don't panic and start questioning the club, chairman or manager. I suspect he will have a plan and a reason for doing it and as he has already shown it will be on his terms and no-one else's.

Would anyone take Lucas ocampos from Monaco, don't know if we could get him but he's a fast, two-footed winger, good in the air a real star in the making. Monaco payed €15 for him a couple of years ago so he would cost a sizeable chunk but will be worth a lot more in the future

Jean Paul Boetius isn't in your sight quinny?

He'd surely cost upwards of €20 million if they were to sell him, considering they paid €15 million for him and he's a highly rated young player. Plus, I doubt they'd sell him after losing James Rodriguez, Emmanuel Riviere and potentially Falcao

I know that bookies odds on transfers don't amount to a done deal but we are now 6/4 fav to sign Micah Richards, now I know he plays RB and that's Seamus position but what if Seamus was to be moved forward to play RM then that way both could be accommodated and that would be a more defensively sound option as a pose to Kev playing there. Just a thought to ponder.

Listen boys and girls I am confident we will make another big signing. Someone suggested it might be Kone for Bony. Ie Kone and cash for Bony? But I thought that was just a line from a poem. Then I thought of Del boy on a permanent? I am honestly not aware of any dealings, but I know we have more cash than we think and RM is going through available players and trying to make something happen. I am sure Ed025 will confirm that we do still have a sizable sum of cash and if we did part ex eg Kone or another player, we could come out with yet another very good signing before the deadline. I am talking 10 million plus. I have not felt this good about Everton for years!

{Ed025's Note - we do still have money available degs, it will depend on whether or not we decide to spend it at this time, as other teams finalize their squads players who are surplus to requirement will become cheaper, thats why i suspect more dealings will be done, but it will be done towards the latter end of the window mate..

Well it won't be bony or delefou, bony won't be happy on the bench and delefou will not be sold. If we do make a big signing it will be a winger anyone else brought in will be a squad/young player.
