Been ages since I posted.
Lets be honest, none of us have a clue at who we're looking at or interested in, how can you possible look at players without knowing who the manager is going to be? Because short of Bill buying Ronaldo or Messi, if Moyes does go, every single manager linked to us will have a different set of targets!
I don't actually think Moyes will go though and I'm sure he's drawn up a list of targets should be stay.
But anyway, to matters at hand. It's getting to that time again so has anyone seen any leaked pictures of our new kits? I've been looking but haven't seen any, any links or pictures would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Mickey Blue Eyes

Google Everton home kit 2013/14 and there will be a kit there. Whether it's fake or not is another story Mickey.

Agree0 Disagree0

Had a quick look for leaked images of the new shirt. Found one that's based on the new Brazil shirt which doesn't look bad. Another offering suggests the club is looking to 'modernise' the club crest which includes the dropping of the laurel wreaths AND the club motto! Any whispers from within Eds? BlueTone {Ed025's Note - i heard the same tone, but hope its just guess work mate..

Who would the rest of you if we had the money sign

Cheikhou Kouyat or leroy fer
Wilfred bony or van ginkel
Dries mertens or kevin strootman
Negredo or cardozo
Atsu or tom ince

If only we had the money

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fer, Bony, Strootman, Negredo & Atsu. RW

Agree0 Disagree0

Fer, van ginkel, mertens, negredo, ince.

would all be very good additions.
van ginkel is my favourite of the bunch, can really work the midfield and has a great creative influence.

Does anyone think ty browning will become a first team regular sooner or later? He has put in some quality performances this year for the u21s and he has been capped by England youth. {Ed025's Note - later..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he does come up it will be in a few years time rather than anytime soon. moyes is always very hesitant to drop young players into the side until he's absolutely sure they're ready or he has no other option, which makes it difficult for our youth players to come through.

if I could change one thing about moyes it would be that he trusted our youth a little more. it can be risky at the start (see; aston villa) but it can really pay off in the end (see; aston villa)

Agree0 Disagree0

Post above, Villa are still not safe so don't know why we are looking at them!

The difference between us and Villa though, is we could easiy play 2 younger players and be fine!

Already starting to receive the banter from the Kopites! And how there the better team? they really do live in the past! like an old man with a war story! well tell me this kopites Everton constantly box above there weight on a small budget! where as liverpool constantly under perform on a massive budget! It doesn't take a mastermind to work out who's the better team! They are so deluded!

imagine if moyes had 35 million to spend every summer pk blue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Imagine. hey let's just imagine we have Messi playing next season. Imagine will change nothing. why not pray for takeover all the help it will do

Agree0 Disagree0

He still would not win anything Moyes is a serial loser and you know it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not fair on moyes at all, a serial loser I don't think so, we are constantly punching above our weight in financial terms and if we had any of the money that united, city, spurs, chelsea, arsenal and lpool have then we would be far from loosers, infact we would be pushing top 2/3 every season

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think Moyes is a very special manager. He has rebuilt our team 3 times so far in his time. Each time we have improved and I only know of two other managers in the Premiership that have managed this feat. Namely Sir Alex and Arsen Wenger. Out of these two, Wenger has not won a trophy for 8 years (even with all the extra cash and ability to sign many players including our very own captain. Arteta). Moyes has been very shrewd buying cheap and selling expensive. Each season we have been banging on Europes door. To prove my point I will give examples of clubs who have rebuilt squads and then suffered: Wolves (just relegated to League 1)
QPR
Blackburn
Bolton
Birmingham
Leeds
Portsmouth
etc

Very interesting article in the financial times about Moyes's methods and his obsessive attention to detail, stats about the opposition and how he prepares meticulously for every opponent. It lays to rest the notion that he is tactically inept.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So that his how he has managed to win all them trophies then. It all makes sense now. Damn you Financial Times for giving away his secrets.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually Mike, I do this fascinating, insightful article a disservice with my amateurish, inaccurate and generalised desription of it.
I don't know if you've read it, or not, but I'd hardly call its contents a 'secret'.
It points to the painstaking lengths that Moyes goes to to get a team/squad punching well above its weight and competing where, in all candour, we really have no right to be, given the financial constraints he operates within.

Agree0 Disagree0

You gone quiet mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't say he is tactically inept, however I do think that he seems to 'bottle it' when it matters most. All the planning in the world, all the meticulous planning, all the attention to detail hasn't helped him achieve what I think we all want, and that is a trophy. He has us 'punching above our weight' and I give him credit for that.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Tactical nous is all about not only 'seeing' the threats and weaknesses of the the opposition but being able to ring the changes ' in team selection and substitutions when necessary, to give the team the best chance of success.
There have been quite a few instances this season when DM and his assistants have missed the obvious one example, at Spurs when leading 2-1 late on, the main threat was coming from Walker and should have been neutralised by the introduction of Oviedo, on the left to man mark, instead of Naismith floating on the right. As a result Walker lays on the equaliser in the last 5 minutes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, that one (Spurs) was glaringly obvious to most, I saw it and was screaming for Oviedo on but on the whole, the majority of the time, he gets things pretty much spot on.
I'm not trying to defend the bloke nor do I agree with his philosophy of stopping the other teams playing, as his main priority but he doesn't have the team or squad of players to go all out attack and try to outscore the opposition.
He does the best with the squad he has available and I think he's done a great job with the tools he's given.
Of course he has his faults and makes mistakes like everyone else and doesn't seem to learn from them.
All things considered, with the financial situation of the club etc, there's no-one I'd rather have in charge than David Moyes.

good article in telegraph on line today by david moyes talking about naming rights for stadium we own. some clues for future here me thinks. tp.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally, I wouldn`t trust our current board to sell hot dogs from a van and make a profit. Considering how well they do in their own fields of business, their acumen with Everton seems shabby at best.

After the Kirkby debacle went pear shaped, Elstone said that selling naming rights to the stadium would not come close to the income generated if we had a new ground.

Is this what Everton has become, selling it`s soul for a pittance that will get you `not very much`?

Better than nothing or selling history and tradition down the swanee?

This coming out after the clip-art badge. is the ship sinking but those in charge are the ones drilling the holes?

WHATS OUR NAME!!

Chelsea have cooled their interest in Fellaini, he doesn't have the options he had before January. Some interest from Russia, expect him to stay and his dad to start shouting his mouth off in September!

Red neighbour here in peace. Hope the derby is a classic, obviously with a red win. As long as the 96 are chanted by both sets of fans. I can see big changes for both teams over the next few years. If only we could get together and build a 100 thousand stadium.

Marko {Ed025's Note - i agree with most of that marko...except the red win bit of course..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The only thing stopping a ground share is your fans mate they are 2 bitter towards sharing a ground with us and that mite come back to bite yis in the coming years well I hope so anyway, Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we please drop this stupid ground sharing idea. It will never happen and it should never happen. And as for it being 100,000 then you are having a laugh. 60,000 at best it would be.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

5 years ago I was totally against a ground share but neither of us has the money to doit alone, we exspecially need a new ground, if we had the kings dock I reckon we would of had investment so totally dismissing these days is ridiculous {Ed025's Note - they are as skint as us mate, but their ego,s get in the way of sensible decisions..

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2013 16:17:20
Wow vast generalisation there, many of us are actually in favour of a ground share, also I don't blame those who want to stay at Anfield, whether you like it or not it's the home of our great history

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on ed25 it has being a great season. Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you Ed. Great season playing the best football for years. End to end and a bit jangly on the nerves at times, but you can't fault a single player for effort. It's great to be blue and all those negative "fans" saying, let's get rid of. and get rid of.
I have to say I don't know which team you have been watching, but mine has done me proud.

Everton could be looking to get ibrahim afellay either on loan or on the cheap in summer. If we had the money the reds have wasted on players, we would be well in the top four! COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we had the money the red's have wasted we'd be winning the league mate.

04 May 2013 16:13:51
If u guys aren't bitter, why is it always about us? Chelsea have thrown millions more than LFC into high profile transfers and still don't win the league consistently!

Agree0 Disagree0

Expenditure in millions in the past decade:-
1. Chelsea 673
2. Man City 572
3. Liverpool 414
4. Manchester United 352
5. Tottenham 350
6. Arsenal 214
7. Aston Villa 201
8. Sunderland 187
9. Newcastle 174
10. Everton 129
11. West Ham 123
12. Wigan 110
13. Fulham 107
Seems the RS have spent more than 3 times what we have and yet they're still below us. Imagine where DM could have got us with that spending.

The last response with transfer stats should be a post in its own right to shut the persons on here up who slag moyes off. Look where we are in comparison to all those clubs who have spent ridiculous money. About 3 wins off we are. So those who moan about Moyes and his tactics should do one and have some appreciation {Ed025's Note - im with you on that mate..
