whilst it's worked out in jagielka's favour I think that push on gary cahill by the belgium guy was one of the worst things I've seen in football - it was disgusting - and highly dangerous - he should have got a red card and a long ban for that

Believable8 Unbelievable0

But u have to admit it was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

Only thing funnier would've been if he pushed him into Terry!!

Agree0 Disagree0

A player getting injured is not funny

Before people jump down my throat about selling fellini please be realistic. What Jags said yesterday is 100% true, but would you sell him if u knew we would get naughton, pienaar, dempsey and sigurdarson?? {Ed025's Note - too much change can be just as disruptive as not buying at all..its a bit of tweaking we need, not a total overhaul..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I agree with your atatement Ed but the poster has a great point, I am all for keeping our prime talent but too swap him for those four, hmmmmm

If I had a choice to make and it gave us those four people I would do it.

It wouldn't happen though because if we got 30 million then 20 would go to the bank and the other 10 would be spent on Pienaar and a wage increase for someone to keep them happy.

I think Felli is top drawer though and hopefully we have some money and build a team around the guy

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

And who would give us a foothold in midfield to supply those four? It's a non-starter unless a replacement CM is on the list.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does the original poster think that these four people will play for free? Their wages would add millions (£20m maybe) to our financial commitments over the next four years.

People seem to forget that players get paid.

Just thinking about it, if we sign Pienaar then we not only have a great team, but one to push forward with too, assuming no sales in the next 3/4 years (work with me here)

Experienced players: (nearing retirement in the next 3/4 years or less)
Neville, Cahill, Distin, Osman, (Howard), (Jagielka)

Transition players: (to pull through to experienced level but carry team too)
Fellaini, Pienaar, Jelavic, Baines, Gibson, Heitinga, Coleman

Young players: (likely to be brought through and shine in this time)
Barkley, Vellios, Gueye, Green, Duffy, Lundstram, McAleny, Junior Costa

Obviously not all those players will spend that much time at the club, but look at that potential. Not many other clubs could look at their team and see that the need for future buying of players is not a huge necessity. We have the quality and set up to succeed, only need a bit of money to keep it fresh. proud to be an Evertonian.

Steve EFC {ED025's Note - good post that steve..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i think paddy is talking about ex-everton left back GARY Naismith not Steven Naismith unless you know something i dont :P {Ed025's Note - just a genuine faux pas mate..

Why is it that players are doing the hard selling of their teammates? Jagielka should be made to stop talking about the future of any other everton player and the financial reality of the club! He is alerting others to the availability of our clubs greatest assets at a reasonably low price of £20 million and also showing that the players themselves are very pragmatic about the situation at the club and know they need to move on to further themselves. All players should just keep quiet and refuse to discuss their clubs whilst on international duty! {Ed025's Note - i could not agree more mate...great post..

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Have to agree but for me it's the tapping up at there tournaments that annoys the most. Rememberwhen judas barmby went off on international duty just been voted Everton player of the season and happy as a sand boy only to get his head turned by rs players and hand in a transfer request when he returned.

Sunglasses Ron {Ed025's Note - i agree mate...i am also wondering how popular we have become with only fools fringe characters!...i have seen, monkey harris...and now sunglasses ron, not forgetting, paddy the greek! i look forward to hearing from iggy iggin,s, eugene mcarthy, the driscoll brothers, and tony angelino..

Hey Ed025 you forgot alfie flowers.

trigger {Ed025's Note - i know...and i bought a lawn mower engine off him..lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice retort Ed025, you clearly know your OFAH. I've got a little confession to make, I've been bored over the bank holidays and decide to have a bit of fun posting using the names of OFAH characters that are often mentioned but never seen to see how many I could get through before someone made the connection. Every single post came from the heart though.

Behind Blue Eyes {Ed025's Note - nice link blue eyes...i will tell bronco lane, who is painting my hall..

Cheers Ed025, I'm glad it never got taken the wrong way. Enjoy what's left of the bank holidays.

andy johnson back to everton? been released from fulham
wouldnt mind hugo rodallega as well {Ed025's Note - i think we have seen the best of andy...he would just be another mcfadden for me..

Believable6 Unbelievable4

I disagree ed. Andy johnson was a quality player when he was at everton but couldnt really get much playing time at fulham. I personally would love him back at goodison park along with hugo rodallega. Hopefully sign pienaar as well, dont sell anybody big eg. felli, baines and I would class that as a really good summer. {Ed025's Note - we wont always agree on all things mate..but not selling our family silver is paramount..

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't see Andy Johnson back he left us because he missed London

What is goin on just watched ssn and they spoke to 3 people regarding England the the we're
Philip Thompson
Jon Aldridge
John Barnes

Are there only ex Liverpool players who have opinions
Really gets on my nerves Liverpool is somehow related to every story involving football
How long will these deluded people listen to old Liverpool players who know nothing!

Ant wharton

Believable4 Unbelievable1

In fairness, apart from Philip Thompson they wern't all so bias, they all ageed that Ferdinand should be in the squad... {Ed025's Note - i cant believe they have 6 players in the squad!....woy must have got some serious compo off them..

If Fellaini leaves this summer, I think he will be a flop like Pienaar was at Tottenham, he won't get his game and it'll be a waste of talent just sitting on the bench. Don't get me wrong I think Fellaini is one of the best midfielders in the Prem, but only at Everton because he only suits the Everton way. Just like Pienaar does.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

What are you on about im sorry but fellaini is and always has been better than pienaar thats not saying pienaar is a bad player because he is fantastic but fellaini is just something else {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I get what you mean, he can play his game at everton and get free roam to express himself, at Chelsea he will just be a squad player with a position and a job to do, pienaar enjoys freedom at everton but didn't get it as spurs, felli wants to stay otherwise he wouldn't have just signed a 5year deal but sad to say, something have to happen, unless I win tomorrows euro millions that is

this is not regarding us blues but what does everyone think about the England team and how well you think they will do. personally i think they will struggle to make the QF. plus they have five liverpool players now in the team. not surprised as roy hodgson was manager.

Andy

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I'm confident we'll reach the QF's, but fail to win the group and we'll likely play Spain, which is where our tournament will finish.

Given France's current form we'll seriously have to up our game from the Norway, Belgium performances to get anything out of that game. {Ed025's Note - i dont think we will qualify..

Agree0 Disagree0

We will struggle.... and there is 6 lfc players in the team, personaly i dont think any bar stevie g should be in the team, so many players have been over looked by roy.... i predict 2 point out of the 3 games we will play, hope a wrong

toffeeblue

Agree0 Disagree0

I'M CONFIDENT...WE'LL BE FIRST...BACK TO THE AIRPORT DEPARTURE LOUNGE ...GLEN JOHNSON,ANDY CARROLL....DO ME A FAVOUR...NOT A CHANCE OF WINNING ANYTHING

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we'll achieve anything at the euros, the team doesn't look balanced enough. Straight home with no points. And do you know what? As long as no Everton players get injured or tapped up I'm not that bothered. Club before country every time for me.

Paddy the Greek {Ed025's Note - me too paddy..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why dosen't Pienaar just put in a transfer request. Then Spurs will know that he really wants to come back to goodison.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I agree, but I think they already know.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he has more or less done that. Pienaar wants to return to Everton, Everton want Pienaar, Spurs want to get rid of Pienaar, The difference is about 2mil, but suspect a deal will be reached of around 4-5mil a bit later in the summer. As long as it is done BEFORE the season starts, I am not complaining.

All these people talking about other targets, for me, keeping everyone, signing Pienaar, and maybe a loan signing, and I would be happy and confident ahead of next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Levy rates pienaar and harry might leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Either way I don't think Pienaar is that dumb. Harry leaves and Levy wants Pienaar to stay? So what? Europa League means nothing anymore to players and even if he was promised more game time he knows only Everton can give him real success as a quality player because no other team fits him. Our team is being built around Fellaini, Jelavic and Pienaar.
