Ed ,Any idea if the Pranjic deal has moved forward .But most importantly whats happening with Pienaar .His comments seem to suggest he is back to considering his position at the Spuds {Ed025's Note - see previous comments by me mate..

Probably 14.

Caught offside is a joke
Today it said we want cardoza, rodellega, junior hoillett, rakitic and a Celtic full back
Surely we could never pull the money together {Ed025's Note - want...is the operative word there mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I'd take Hoilett and Rakitic. Our team could look like this:

Howard
Hibbo Jags Johnny Baineso
Hoilett Felli Rakitic Pienaar
Jelavic Naismith

=1st place :)

One thing I'd like to ask, do you guys think that Rodwell will fulfil his potential? Or will he sadly become victim to consistent injuries like many others in the past? I have a bad feeling it could be the latter.

Dandan217 (I'm new to the site, great job Ed's!) {Ed025's Note - he has got undoubted talent dan...he will come good mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Rodders certainly splits opinions doesn't he! I like him though and really hope he comes through his injuries, real graceful and composed footballer who could take Everton on to another level if he can combine with Gibbo and Fellaini, what a midfield that would be!

My team:
Howard
Hibbert. Jagielka. Heitinga. Baines.
Donovan/Pranjic. Fellaini. Gibson. Pienaar.
Naismith.
Jelavić
Thought it was good, seen videos of pranjic and he plays right wing alot (also asked people, not just releying on YouTube) , got a good left foot...................

RS fan sad to me today "Jelavić is going to Real Madrid and so is Fellaini an Baines is going to Man Utd" my return was just laughing... Kopites do make me laugh, they think they are better than Barcelona... Sigurdsson said he wanted to move to a big club also everton are rated higher in the European ratings sooo......................

TC

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Really where are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Was quality what Sig'son said TC, heard it last night, "I want to go to a club that is going places", love it, just love it.

Also RVP - how they even think they could get this guy I don't know, hope they do and pay him a huge salary because he wont do what he done last season again whic was class but 80 games in 7 seasons, not good

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Not true, Liverpool are rated 11 in the European Club Rankings and we are rated 51. A joke I know.

Not so much a rumour, but possible starting XI for next season?

Howard
Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka, Hibbert/Neville
Naismith, Osman, Gibson, Fellaini, Pienaar
Jelavic

Thoughts?

And the right back issue could be addressed with decent suggestions, though personally I think Hibbo will be banging them in from 40 yards next season ;-) {Ed025's Note - good team that..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally, despite what anyone says, I believe we have one of the best squads in the league. Moyes just needs to be more attack minded in the first half of the season.

Hi ed how strong do you think the rumours of rodallega and hoilet are and do you still think pienarr will join because I'm unsure ?? {Ed025's Note - rodallega seems to be gaining momentum, being free and experienced, does tick a lot of boxes...hoilett will depend on how the peanuts talks go, which as i see it is now down to him!..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hasn't Hoilett signed for Borussia Moenchengladbach?

Agree0 Disagree0

This Sky sports reporter tweeted it

I'd prefer Hoilett

Hoilett anyday over Peanuts, younger and a more valuable signing. Just my Opinion!

Maybe not the right forum but its current. I feel for the rangers fans right now. Imagine our club having to start again in the lower leagues. Even though our boarHave made mistakes we are still coping in these money driven times. Careful what you wish for. Even if we do not win things we are not spending. More pressure on the teams who change manager's and spend big with no return. You know who I mean. {Ed025's Note - well said mate, i really feel for the rangers fans, who are the fall guys for owners who sold their soul for 40 pieces of silver...good luck bears, you really deserve some..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Good speech that dude. We could have so easily gone tIe same way under the Peter 'park hampers' Johnson regime. A lot of people slate Kenwright on this site but at least he's brought stability to the club even if we aren't that well off financially.

Behind Blue Eyes

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fan here, congrats on getting the bargain of the season I'm sure Naismith and Jela will continue where they left off, also thanks for the goodwill and goodluck for the season, cant believe how we've been treated in Scotland for basically being victims of fraud,we will be back however and those who have revelled in our plight better be afraid because we're coming for them and we will miss no one.

Cheers ed and gd luck for the season ahead,ps if you're looking for a goalkeeper you could do alot worse than McGregor, top class keeper. {Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Most of the new football owner types who wreck a club have usually loaded their own bank accounts with a few million quid before they nose the clubs into the ground - they're complete ***** who don't give a toss about the fans - I believe football clubs should be owned by their fans - like barcelona - it's the only model that makes sense - otherwise the fans are just treated like cash cows for these rich playboys

at least Bill is a proper supporter - although he's still sitting on a (unrealised) profit of about 100 mil over what he bought the club for - so I do think he should be banging in a few tens of millions on new players now that we're close to having a proper competitive team, for the first time in a long time

DBEFC

Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the need of calling people like him a RS, I am a regular user of this page and I am sick of idiots like you calling people RS, yes he is a bit slow getting the info and what? He could have just found out. Also instead of you calling people RS just say a normal comment. {Ed025's Note - fair point mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

It was just a bit harmless fun!

Sorry if I upset you, I would not want to upset the site FPO! (Fun Prevention Officer)

DBEFC

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not really fun or funny to call someone a RS for being a bit slow with the info. If he came on and said that we're selling all of our players and buying a team from the korean league, then it's fine calling him a RS but not for that DBEFC! {Ed025's Note - your right DB..

Why does everyone want to sign pranjic? If he plays LB or LM cud mean that either baines is going or pienaars not coming back! And pranjic isn't defo for cover as we have Coleman! T blue

Believable1 Unbelievable2

We have 1 Left back at the club, he will be there as back up to Baines, next season i think our squad will be rotated alot and Coleman gives us cover down the right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman is awful - he's so far below the rest of the team now - he won't get much play time unless he improves - he's a headless chicken to me who loses the ball most of the time and can't get past his man - he turns back and lays if off to hibo 9 times out of 10 - that's when he doesn't get it taken straight off him - which is more times than not
watch him defending corners and freekicks etc -he looks completely lost - like he hasn't a clue what he's meant to be doing

apart from that he's great

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant assessment!! u should be on the telly!! He is a blue though and does try his best every game, never know might turn out half decent like Hibbo after ten years!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hugo rodellega. Aged 26. Scored 1 in 3 in his career. On a free. Prem experience. Pace. Must not be on much wedge when at Wigan. Sign him up to our squad moyes. {Ed025's Note - well worth a shout..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Cheaper option then cardoza (£16 and 31 years old) would take a punt with defoe or jordon rhodes

Agree0 Disagree0

Cardoza is 29

Agree0 Disagree0

How is Cardozo a cheaper option when Rodallegas on a free?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2012 19:44:01
Surely Hoilett on a free, even earning big wages, is better value than forking out 5m for a 30 year old in Pienaar. Realistically, how much more money will Hoilett be on than peanuts?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

That's true, but not when he wants to be the highest earner at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilett would cost £5m too, that's for compensation as he's an academy player. Only thing is, Pienaar already knows Everton inside out

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilet would cost 4mil pienar would cost 5

Agree0 Disagree0

For Hoilett you would need to fork out a compensation fee for Blackburn, a signing on fee for Hoilett and he is demanding 80k a week. The lad is far from free.

They really are dillusional, they make me laugh

Jc

Believable4 Unbelievable0

04 Jul 2012 19:03:14
Don't normally go on different sites, but in the past the RS thought they could get RVP, now he's leaving arsenal I thought it would be funny to see if they think they can get him... Anyway theres about ten kopites who think the can get RVP, so funny they think they are brilliant! They are badly in decline, stupid kopites. There main striker scored 11 goals last season (the diving rabbit, Suarez) and jelavic scored 11 in a few games not a whole season. The teams a joke! Rant over....................

I would like to express my disgust at how the new away kit is not available in infant sizes!
My 18 month old Son has had every kit since he was born and as his half brother is a red sh!te I feel it is extremely important to keep him on the straight and narrow and dressed prim and proper.
Can anyone assure me that the home kit will be available in his size or do I need to ask my Granny to get the old Singer out and make him one ourselves?
On a brighter note, welcome Steven Naismith and good luck at our fantastic club! Bang em in lad!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've no idea what EFC's commercial strategy really is, but I do wonder about their understanding of what the fans really want when you read stories like this. The club bemoans the lack of corporate facilities and how match-day income doesn't compare to other clubs - which is all true - but simple things such as replica kits, which can srely be easily fixed, become such a saga that I wonder if BK could base one of his shows on it. How about "Where's me Shirt?" as a revival starring Ken Dodd?

Does Naismith signing mean Cahill will be leaving?
It does make sense - and it could be a win win win all round.
Good for Tim as he's a hero in far east and will get big money and exposure - good for us as we save his wages, get a decent wedge transfer fee probably and he's not as prolific as he once was - and good for Tim's new club who will make mega money off the marketing they will make from him signing them - so win win win I reckon
what's not to like?
tim you've been great but all good things etc etc and you'll always be an everton legend!
Clozem

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I think Clozem makes a good point. Perhaps now is the time for TC to move on. He's been magnificent, but is he the same player - especially goal threat - that he was in the past. I imagine it's his call - I don't see David Moyes forcing him out, as he's one of the players he always cites as one of his best signings.
Cowpat Sid {Ed025's Note - i think if he goes, it will be to oz, as is his want sid....no dosh involved..

Is it jus me that is not wanting pienaar back. If he really wanted to go put a request in. Dnt come out and say you want to see who the new spurs boss is before you decide ur future and if ur happy with the appointment u will see ur contract out there. Ur jus a mercenary and we can do better, and need to b treated better by the likes of u peanuts. Let Baines form a new partnership with a youngster like zaha. Bye bye peanuts, thanks for memories.

Johnboy {Ed001's Note - Pienaar asked to be allowed to make his move permanent, he held talks with Spurs and agreed to wait until the new manager was appointed and talk to him. What I am told is that he is doing that purely out of courtesy and he will ask again to be allowed to return to Everton. I fully expect him to return, the club will no doubt get him to hand in a written transfer request to save them having to pay him a loyalty bonus. The only question is whether AVB will want to keep him and try to persuade him he is in his plans, I don't think he will, but that is opinion, as I have no idea what AVB is thinking!}

Just added my disagree! Think/hope he realised the mistake he made by leaving a club who loved him! Did he leave for money, or think he was going to win things at spuds??(fool). I say welcome back, and let it be a lesson to others... Blue Lee

Hi ed, been reading the posts of the last couple of days and just a few thoughts i thought id share with my fellow blues!

1. There is no way Moyes is gonna spend 16 million on Cordoza or any other player, if by some miricle we hand 16 million, Moyes would spend it more wisely and spread it around over 2-3 good players.

2. Naismith is a quality signing, hard working, eye for goal and gets stuck in. fits the Moyes type player mould and actually reminds me a lot of Donovan in the way he plays.

3. When was the last time we signed a player this early? we always say we are gonna do it but it never comes off and we end up panicing and getting stressed all summer long!!

4. Most importantly, i genuinely feel that we are on the verge of something spectacular at our great club, we've been crying out for a goal scorer for years, and now we have 2! with another 1-2 quality additions to the squad i think we could suprise a lot of people. But we must get Peanuts, he makes us tick!!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Naismith is a quality signing but hes not a great goalscorer hes got a record of 1 in 4 and thats in an less spectacular league i think he will be great foil for jelly but dont expect him to score a lot he'll create a lot of goals though. {Ed001's Note - he didn't always play up front, so his goal record is difficult to judge.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that it's great we've made a signing early in window - makes a change. However, there's no fee involved so that surely made it easier to complete with none of the usual haggling with another club. The transfer of Pienaar might take longer to negotiate if past transfer sagas are anything to go by. BK and DM have proved in the past that they know how - by and large with only a few wrong'uns - how to get a good deal for EFC. What do you think, EDs?
Cowpat Sid {Ed025's Note - naismith had other offers sid, but chose us, and with pranjic being a free agent , i think we have a good chance of bagging him too mate..

Great to see that we've got an early signing in, very excited to see what we do next I have a good feeling Moyes and BK will pull a hat out the bag for us this year. COYB

Honourable mention to eds too, you gave us the information early and I never doubted you mate IEWT ( in Ed we trust)

First time poster great site can't get enough of it! The capture of Naismith on a free is an excellant piece of business I'm a Kilmarnock fan and have watched the boy grow into a quality player especially when he was linked up with jelavic who is really good at holding up the ball for Everton to have thr partnership at attack will do a fair amount of damage in the prem Everton will be guaranteed goals from this boy good luck to Naismith thank god he ain't stuck with rangers no more they were just keeping him from reaching his true potential keep up the impressive work ed

All this talk about AVB that he might want to keep peanuts and offer him more game time might put of a return to Everton is bulls**t all peanuts has to do is tell them he wants to leave and thats that set a price then the ball is back in our court he says he loves it at Everton so thats that lets get the deal done maybe one or two more signings and lets start preparing for next season. COYB.STEF THE BLUE.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

The question is...does Pienaar actually want to join? {Ed001's Note - yes, desperately wants to return!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if pienaar is gonna hold back and see if he will get a game, It might be worth him sitting and thinking hard for a few minutes

He plays his best and happiest football with us

Bale has signed a new contract

Papers are saying AVB is about to go on a 50mil spending spree (yes papers are full of BS but it's worth him taking in)

This must make him set that everton is the team he really needs to be at

Rangers fan here, just wanted to say well done for the signing of Steven Naismith. You guys will absolutely love him, he's really got it all - hard working, skilful, an eye for goal and is versatile. Its a shame to see him go but in all honesty a boy with that talent deserves to be playing at the very top level. All the best for the new season Steven & Everton.

In all honesty Terry all our fans are great no matter if there local or not especially the fans that have to travel far and wide to watch the super toffees Everton is a brand and without them were confined to one city base we need our fans from across the water and up and down the country the promote the club just as much as any local fan not having a dig but could u imagine what Man U would be like without there world wide fan base .Stef the blue {Ed001's Note - to be honest, I found his comment offensive, my cousin travels from Newport for every game, he isn't local but he is just as big a fan as anyone. In fact I would say he has every right to consider himself as big a fan as any local who only has to pop across the road to watch Everton!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree ed 001 100 percent an Everton fan is a Evertonian no matter were there from Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Stef and ed001 it was a joke amed at 3 of my mates who support liverpool and use there page and they come on ours to have a look what we put,they know me as Terry blue on here and we have a joke in pubs and when they come mine for a beer,i joke to them about most of there fans being from Norway and london hence the reason why i put {real LOCAL fans} if this upset you or offended you them am truly sorry. Terry blue {Ed001's Note - no worries mate, I just know a few fans, both reds and blues, who have developed a real bitterness towards fans from outside the city. In fact it borders on hatred at times. It is a worrying tendency, Liverpool was built on an influx of foreigners and their cultures. It would not be the greatest city in the world without their input.}

In some countries like mine, we dont even have a good national team which could beat a championship team. Being football fans, to enjoy good football we depend BPL broadcasted on TV. From here we support and appreciate the clubs which play in your country. The difference is we cant support club financially by buying tickets to watch the match, Still I hope I am a part of that huge international family of Evertonians, who bleed blue... WE are evertonians where ever we are and Terry blue knows that. He just said we have more local fans compared to other teams there. ED dont try to bring division among us as local and foreign.
With love from EAST {Ed025's Note - wherever you live makes no difference mate, our club is diverse and cosmipolitan, from park road to timbuk-tu...you will always find a blue..

Sorry ed but just like to ad something on behalf of ed001 to the comment made ed was not trying divide us he just simply stated a few fans he knew dont like supporters from out side the city his own cousin is a blue from outside the city he was actually defending everyones right to support our club cheers Stef the blue

04 Jul 2012 00:26:32
if our board members are rich except for (BK) why dont they invest. why do we never ask questions if they want the best for our club they dont show it shocked to see what they are worth!! {Ed025's Note - they want to keep their money mate...thats why they are rich..

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I totally agree, its alright to say they want to keep their money but it is a flipant answer to a serious question. They top the Times sports persons rich list yet we are told so often we have no money, why are they sitting on the board ?? {Ed025's Note - not a flippant answer mate...an honest one! why else would they want to be associated with the club?..

Ino mate but they should wanna invest its just annoys me so much as it will everyone of us blues

Agree0 Disagree0

Robert earl has no love for Everton he's was brought in to oust a kenwright rival gregg n to cement kenwrights power this was a major crime as it has only hampered Everton to give major shares to earl has done absolute nothing for Everton .bill says he loves the club what was earl bought on the board for

Agree0 Disagree0

And we say or do nothing just a shame love the club hate the board

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason Green etc have an interest in Everton is that it's an investment that will never go down the pan, that's why the talk of liquidation/administration should never be taken seriously these guys would never let it collapse as they have too much invested in it. Remember BK bought Johnsons 68% for 20 million he now values the club at something like 120 million, all the share holders therefore are looking for at least four times as much for their shares when it is eventually sold as the club was worth when it was taken over. Only BK has a real passion for the club but he is the only one without any real millions out of the owners otherwise you know he would invest as would any of us as passionate supporters.

Fact is the rest are happy to wait and turn a nice healthy profit on our great club.
