I am not looking for a debate, but I have just been watching Lookman 'best bits'. I'm not slating him before he's started, but is he meant to be straight into the 1st team (I'm guessing do at £10m+) . Reason I ask is he looks too small at the minute. Most of his edge of the box shots sort of trickle into the net as if he hasn't got the strength in his legs yet (not that it matters hiw they go in) .

I would think that he isn't meant to go into the first 11 but into the squad. If anyone thinks he is going to come and be a complete world beater immediately then they need to think again. We must give him the chance to develop properly.

Although it's interesting that we blocked the idea of him returning to Charlton on loan for the rest of the season.

I think he will feature in the first team, but only in small amounts.

He is 19 and Koeman rates him. I guess Walsh does too or they will soon fall out! It is interesting that he is 100% our player with no loan back and for that fee they must see something.

Has ability in both feet, has pace and can play on either flank.
Lets remember the balls in the Premier League are different than those in the lower leagues too.
The lad is 19 years old and will be chomping at the bit to prove himself.
The size argument isn't really relevant as David Silva isn't very tall neither is Payet and they tend to do well.

Just a quick mention over the central midfield position. We do need cover and Sneiderlin seems to be the one we look like getting. However, I wanted to mention the forgotton man Besic.

I'm hoping his injury doesn't take that much out of him and he is able to cone back stronger. Whereas, Martinez clearly didn't know how to play him, Koeman clearly will with how well he has got McCarthy coming back to form, Gana's impact and how Davies is developing.

He has a similar style to Gana and maybe like a new signing when he comes back next season. I certainly hope so as he loves the club.

. agree, when Mo returns n hopefully stays fit together with McCarthy (again fitness not withstanding) Gana, Davies, we will be strong in that area. however. as it stands now though we need someone like Schneidilin (spelling) to slot in with Davies for now n see what happens. I think GB will have less of a role over the next 4 months. although important to have around the squad n will never give him stick.

Agree, love the lad. Problem is the high intensity style of play the lad has is also his undoing as he is always going to get injured, the thing is how does Koeman solve it. You can't take his game away from him because that is what he is.

Initially Gana and Besic sounds great together. But remember both are quite small in stature. We already have suffered at set pieces this season and to have 2 small ish central midfielders would mean players wider such as Lennon would be difficult to accomodate because set pieces would become a big problem. One of Barry's assets is that he is great at defending headers and wins quite a few headers at corners and free kicks that are curled in to our defense. I don't really know Schneiderlins abilities and never really noticed him. so can't comment on his heading ability.

Could you let me know, we are linked with a lot of players and yes I understand a lot is paper talk, but are we able to add these players with the likes of sniderline, repay, smalling vandyke sorry about the spelling, but they have big price tags, even if we sell or loan out players, can we spend that much money on players, thanks.
