Ed there are strong rumours that we are in for Wissam Ben Yedder do you know if it is true?
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - I've not heard anything joe..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Its only a rumour til he signs the paper

I think that DM genuinely does want to do well in the cups - in fact I'm sure he wants to win every match - but it's qualifying for the Champions League group stages that would bring in real money (barring any external investment) for building the squad. On that basis, resting (rotating) the players, giving those with niggling injuries some rest and time for recovery, and giving some of the squad players (especially younger ones like Barkley and Duffy and Velios) a runout in the cup makes sense. IMWT.
C.A.Jones

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would love to see him give Barkley a start

Dave EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd drop distin for duffy for the fa cup and the league tbh

Holtby disappointing? Yes! But I still fancy Moyes to unearth another gem soon.
Degsypulford

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Moyes will unearth a gem, he always does, we will also have our squad boosted soon by the return of mirallas and Gibson

Dave EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't care less about holtby, if moyes wanted him so much we would of got him, he has his eyes on others

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 22:20:50
Same old story, got to the point were its just not believable unless theres solid photographic proof of these arabs at Finch Farm.. Next joke

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Couldn't care less, we are doing ok without the arabs! look at blackburn and portsmouth, invest didn't work out

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 20:41:16
charlie austin 27 games 23 goals so far this year wouldn't mind moyes taking a gamble on him myself. what do the rest of you think?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

But can he do it in the prem? beckford springs to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes only 23 and still has potential and beckford was from league 1

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 18:29:32
Only loan players if we r lucky and defo no takeover

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Cya later RS.

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Loan players are perfectly fine, look at what happened with donovan on loan, we got arteta on loan and signed him, got pienaar on loan and then signed him

Agree0 Disagree0

The Pienaar loan then buy deal was so good we did it twice. 1eyeblue

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the few teams who can sell a player for 3mill and buy him back a year later for 5mill when we havent got a pot to p**s in!
typical kenwright {Ed025's Note - some people are never happy...sigh..

Agree0 Disagree0

With you on this Ed025. I would say in his present form that Pienaar is one of the top players in the premiership. Do the sums as well. I think we originally had him for 2.5million. Had a few good seasons out of him. Sold him for 3 million. Then had to pay 6 million to get him back. So in total have a player that has cost us about 5.5 million. He has been top quality for us and still has a good few years left in him. Compare with eg Henderson at The Reds and other midfielders in clubs around who cost much more and are not fit to lace his boots. There....that's that off my chest.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 17:52:53
David Moyes is on £4million a year and is playing hardball over his new contract. Delusions of grandeur anyone?
Which team in the premiership would match that contract?

Nostrawigus

Believable3 Unbelievable2

The football we're playing is worth that much dough

Agree0 Disagree0

To have moyes at the helm? i cant think of many that wouldnt..

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know he is playing hardball with his wages. more likely playing hardball with commitment of investment into the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

You may find that there are other prem managers on better contracts. He is paid, however, more than any player at the club, but, as the manager and most important person at the club (or of any club, for that matter) shouldn't he be?

EFCWhitesocks

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is worth that much

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 17:03:07
Finally holtby has signed for spurs so we can all stop going on about him now. Last words on him big mistake he will hardly get a game if they sign mouthino in the summer

Lets move on boys

Eddy

Believable5 Unbelievable1

From the inside we didn't even want him

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:47:18
Holtby going to Tottenham in July well done blues. Also can't help but feel disappointed and bemused as to why we didn't sort this out. I hope motes has something lined up. Plleeeeaaaasssseee!

Gutted about Holtby, anyone else?

ToffeeMike

Believable4 Unbelievable6

I am gutted too. But no point on dwelling on it I suppose

Wesley Sneijer is said to be interested in a top 5 premier league side.... Wonder how much he'd cost?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Rumours that he's been offered around for free by Inter, just no one willing to pay for is 200k+ a week wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can assure you from an outright guess that it is not us haha.

toffee jack

Agree0 Disagree0

When he says top 5 i don't think he means top 5 right now somehow. -

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be an awful signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes after 180k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

His wages are 200k a week I think..............

TC {Ed025's Note - your right tc..

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not being offered for free, inter want 15m

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:54:36
Holtby to Spurs deal agreed for summer he goes on a free! Mm think we must have slept through that one c'mon Everton

Believable2 Unbelievable1

3.5m a year is a lot for a player unproven in the premier league would rather spurs take that risk than us.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 17:45:17
Got to remember people theres no such thing as a free transfer, it just means holtby and his agents will pocket the money, just cos hes on a bosman doesnt mean we can afford him.
ste c

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes knows what he is doing, must have his eyes on better players

Agree0 Disagree0

How do we know Everton wanted him anyway ? An interest in a player doesn't necessarily mean it'll will be followed up with an offer. Hope Moyes has some hotter irons in the fire, as it were.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said we wanted him, i remember fans givin out in the summer sayin we didnt get roddealga, hoillet and johnson, look how they turned out, in moyes we trust, i hav every faith in him, we all know he scouts players for months b4 signin, true blue, efc 4 life

Agree0 Disagree0

Or perhaps moyes sees ross as having more potential and when he's ready can come into the side and flourish and show everyone his talent

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewis Holtby signs a pre contract at Spuds

Dave M

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Dont rate him anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:14:11
Bad luck guys, Holtby has agreed a deal with Spurs (subject to a medical) and will join them in July. Shame really, a young talent and a fellow supporter, guess we couldn't afford his wages.

Dandan217

Believable3 Unbelievable1

All the noises have always come from his Dad & Holtby himself.....about his Dad being a life-long Everton Fan and Holtby always checking our results etc. But Everton have NEVER come out and said they want to sign him, and it looks like the preference is for Ofoe the Belgian International.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:14:03
Tootenham agreed deal for Lewis holtby! I'm gutted to be honest thought we had a good chance of getting him. Oh we'll never mind good luck to him! Tom

Believable3 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2013 15:53:47
Beckham to sign this window. He has no interest in management but wants to be involved with St George's park and the national academy. Phil Neville is in line to take over as U21 boss after the next major tournament because Pearce wants to move into club management. Becks to play at Everton and do his badges, after which he will join the staff at England. He believes that Utd fans would not have an issue with him playing for Everton since the feeling between both clubs is generally quite good.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Really can't see it myself, posh will want to move to somewhere sunny

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:12:08
Holtby agrees to join Spurs in July. Just like I told you about yesterday

Dixie 1878

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Absolute 'no-brainer' for Spurs or anyone else for that matter. If it doesn't work out they can sell on for a sizeable amount, presumably.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:02:08
Some people got to realise there could be some truth in this takeover. A couple of days ago there was a a rumour. On toffee web page rumour mill about a takeover

Believable1 Unbelievable4

If i had a pound for each of these takeover rumours that go around then i would be able to takeover the club myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Go back to bed mate its only 2013 not due a takeover for years to come yet

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 15:15:09
ed this month who would you say we are most likely to sign? {Ed025's Note - i dont want to speculate mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2013 15:13:40
Anymore news Eds on new signings?? I just hope the bord do back mosey with money for new players we are so close to having a team we all have wanted for so very long it would be a crying same if we blow it now!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

A couple of shrewd loan deals would be good enough to give the squad a good boost

Dave EFC {Ed025's Note - your right dave..

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 15:02:07
Iv been talking with my mates about this for a few days now what would u proffer to win the fa cup or get in the champions league ?? {Ed025's Note - for me...champions league..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Win the cup. Its been too long now. Nearly 20 years is just taking the piss.

Mike {Ed025's Note - long term mike..champions league opens a lot of doors mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling we'd get a killer qualification tie if we made fourth. Typical really. No gains unless you reach groups! Pushed for an answer i'd take CL though mate! Only real opportunity to align ourselves with the best and make a dent in this debt!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe ed. I just don't think we are ready and not yet good enough for the Champions League yet. The money is good but getting beat every game won't help. A Cup will take the pressure off I think, as it must be playing on the players mind going donkeys years winning nothing.

Mike {Ed025's Note - to be fair mike...last week we played the european champions off the park (even though we lost), and have beat united, so maybe we are good enough mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you may have misunderstood me ed. I think we are good enough to qualify, but competing in it is different altogether. Look at Man City, they struggled badly. I meant we can't compete with the likes of Barca, Real, Bayern, Juve, Dortmund etc. We would probably lose badly to those teams.

Mike {Ed025's Note - i know what your saying mike...but if we dont try, we will never know mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed. Yeah fair enough. Still would rather have a cup though mate.

Mike {Ed025's Note - fair enough mike..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why cant we have both!!
TT {Ed025's Note - why not indeed..

Agree0 Disagree0

Champions League, no question. Attract better players, keep our best players, pay better wages, attract investors, wipe out a large chunk of debt, etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 16:55:43
Im with Mike on this Ed, we need a cup badly

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why can't we compete Mike? Look at Celtic! They beat Barca and are in the last 16. Surely we are better than Celtic!?!?

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

How we r playin we'll get both, but i would go for fa cup, automatic Europa that we have more CHANCE OF WINNIN AND A TROPHY AND GOOD MONEY AND 2 DAYS OUT TO WEMBELEY

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 14:53:01
Hope Moyes is taking the FA Cup seriously ed he has a habbit of messing about with players in cup competitions. We must play strongest team possible. {Ed025's Note - i think he will tinker a bit mate, jelly needs a blow i think, and bainsey...a pretty strong side will do fine...with oviedo, and maybe vellios coming in..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

04 Jan 2013 13:59:07
We playing some lovely football at the moment we need a trophy for it at the end of the season its been too long now.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

04 Jan 2013 13:41:58
Man city not to punish Ballotelli. What ajoke.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

04 Jan 2013 14:28:15
Why should they, it was Mancini who kicked off

Agree0 Disagree0

Why should we worry about what the mancs do were all right thats all that matters oabaab

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 13:24:03
I personally think that Holtby will stay at schalke until the summer in order to look at how the prem table finishes as I think he wants champions league football and is waiting to see who out of us and spurs get it. Plus, if we manage to secure champions league football, we can offer him higher wages to compete with spurs. IMO, I would love to get him at everton

Believable6 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2013 12:56:32
did lpool just pay chelsea 12 mil for a player who's contract was due to run out at the end of this season??
sturridge signed a 4 year deal for chelsea in 2009??

great bit of business again there lads, they could have had him on a free in august!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

The reasoning behind it is he could of gone to anyone on a free at the end of the season, liverpool wanted him and chelski wanted to see some money from the deal instead of keeping him and seeing nothing at the end of the season!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 12:42:57
The only one I can see coming in is ofoe because we are short in midfield and a cb if johnny gets sold and maybe a striker on loan but realistically I'd be happy with just one new face we can't expect anymore with the fianaces. But the rumours keep you hoping though.

Eddy

Believable4 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2013 11:01:32
Holtby this and holtby that just cause his dad was an everton fan does not mean we will get him look at facts he would cost around 6m but the problems are wages and the guy is playing champions league for a good team I think our main problem is when Gibson is out we loose our flow I would rather see Fellini drop into midfield and let Barkley play off striker

Believable5 Unbelievable2

04 Jan 2013 10:57:37
would anyone support a move for jake livermore of tottenham?

he was getting a fair bit of game time under 'arry, but doesn't seem to be in favour with villas boas.

i reckon he could produce in a similar role to gibson, maybe not as good, but definitely adds depth, and is young and would be relatively cheap.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

04 Jan 2013 10:54:36
Whilst I want us to try and win the fa cup I do believe we need to rest certain players like baines pienaar Jelavic osman and jags could do with a rest I just wonder if George green may make the bench for Cheltenham have to give Barkley 90 mins play him off anichibe or vellios, also wish people would get of Jelavic back goals will come, the guys works is socks off hit the post and bar against Chelsea and set up the winner against Newcastle just needs a bit of luck that's all

Believable8 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2013 10:54:36
just looking at an article on the internet about how much clubs have to spend in the jan transfer window and guess whos got the worst transfer kitty yes us a miserable 2 million and i no to normal everyday people thats a massive amount of money but to a premier league football club its buttons wouldnt buy a good players leg compared to other clubs.

arsenal 70 mill
villa 6 mill
chelsea 40 mill
everton 2 mill
fulham 10 mill
reds#### 20 mill
man city 30 mill
man u 30 mill
newcastle 15 mill
norwich 8 mill
qpr 20 mill
reading 15 mill
southampton 10 mill
stoke 8 mill
sunderland 15 mill
swansea 10 mill
spurs 30 mill
west brom 6 mill
west ham 8 mill
wigan 5 mill

Read an article yesterday yes i need to get out more from Tv rights last year we received £ 48, 900, 267. Next year new Tv deal 2013/2014 estimated we will receive if we where to finish 7th again £88, 749, 847 when we finish 4th £103, 176, 894 so why have we only got 2 million for transfers! No idea

Believable1 Unbelievable2

So you believe everything you read then?

No one would know every teams budget. Most probably just guessing. Ignore it.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

How would the journalist know exactly how much we have? Not saying we have money now but everyone thought we had no money when we bought Fellaini for 15 million. Unless this journalist is on every board in the league, he would never know how much a club has..................

TC

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if they r guessing the tv money aint far wrong and i seem to remember moyes sayin there is no money so 2 mill sounds about right why if there so much tv money and why is this debt not going down its been more or less the same for a couple of years despite the money from players sold and deals with nike etc {Ed025's Note - like all of us, your guessing...only BK, and DM know the real total..

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 09:33:01
Any Body think Moyes is Planning something special?
Jags new deal, Coleman new deal. Signing of Mirallas and Odiddja ofoe. i think jelavic a year ago was the start of this. Champions league and FA Cup please! Dan1

Believable2 Unbelievable2

04 Jan 2013 10:33:46
When did we sign Odidja Ofoe ???

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the actions of a manager leaving the club in the next season... he will stay

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 03:59:19
I think forren will choose fulham because he plays with hangeland for norway..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Or maybe come to us as where a far better team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumour is if we miss out on Forren, we will go after Hangeland

Agree0 Disagree0

No kilgannon from sunderland

04 Jan 2013 03:51:34
I play fantasy football on the sky website, and whilst making transfers vadis odjija-ofoe come up for 4.8 as an everton player, has he signed or are sky to eager? {Ed025's Note - sky too eager i think..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

04 Jan 2013 03:19:53
Well in Kevin Prince Boateng....for making a stand against the cave men.....and the clueless football authorities. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - i agree wavo...things will not change unless we make a stand against these morons..

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Knowing UEFA, they will probably ban him for kicking the ball into the crowd and getting the game abandoned.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 02:27:53
Norwegian Journo on twitter seems adamant Forren is coming to us. Says Moyes has watched him intensely (remember lescott - 40+ individual scout reports) and claims that fulham are signing him are incorrect.

Guy seems quite sure of himself, although I remain a transfer rumour pessimist! For a centre half to win player of the season in a top flight division, he must be half decent. Hangelland has his flaws but for a kid of his age to be considerably better, then I'm interested to see this develop

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The latest is he's in talks with 'a major European club'... Man U ? Everton, maybe ?
