Brilliant result. Would have dropped those points last year when pressure came on, that's the biggest change for me under RK. Well done Niasse too, that was a top flight touch and finish from the lad, hope he keeps going like that!

Wow what a game!
I was ecstatic at half time and feeling optimistic for a rout. Then we come out second half and become complacent.

I thought the substitution of McCarthy was a strange one considering he was offering energy going forward and also protection, and I was questioning Koemans reasoning for it when he then left Barry on and conceded due to our lack of pace in the centre of midfield.

James McCarthy for me has transformed himself from a headless chicken under Martinez to a player who is thriving under the new system and can certainly be a box to box midfielder who can offer us more than just tackles. His passing today was solid his movement off the ball was good and his defending was also what is expected with the pressing, this was why i was baffled when he went off, maybe the manager is protecting him due to recent injury problems.

Onto the next substitution of Lookman for Mirralas, what I noticed was Baines was being more exposed when Ibe came on and Lookman tired as the half went on, Kev didn't offer any protection for Baines and I can't see him being here beyond this season.

Then just as I start feeling the Martinez curse was striking with bad subs, Koeman goes and brings Holgate on and reverts to a back 3 and shows me why he is the manager and I am just a know it all supporter. RK really is a top manager and tactician and with this man in charge with a team/ squad of players that he wants we really will go places.

I never doubted we would win today but was fearful the manager didn't see the writing on the wall, what do I know he knew all along what the problem was and fixed it.

Joel, McCarthy, Coleman and Mori have all became better players with the belief and confidence instilled in them by RK.
Onwards and upwards blues.

I never felt more like singing the blues when Everton win and Liverpool lose, oh Everton you got me singing the blues.

Conceding 3 at home isn't great but 6 goals and Niasse essentially scored a winner against the reds. Perfect Saturday! Coyb.

It is a worry letting in 3 goals at home but still another good win. I always said Niasse would get goals but remember it was only Liverpool.

{Ed025's Note - love it AB..

04 Feb 2017 19:32:44
Hi Ed you ok 6pts behind the reds who have Spurs next only 2pts behind Utd top 4 finish in sight what do you think?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it will be a bit of a stretch AB but its certainly possible mate..

04 Feb 2017 17:22:41
Great result today and fair play to Bournemouth they gave everything.

Barkley was simply stunning today and his goal with his arms raised was priceless. Lukaku was industrious and supportive of his team mates plus deadly un front of goal.
Lookman looks a great prospect but is going to have to learn about making that ball precious and ours. He is like Barkley at the moment when Koeman was having a go at him.

Koeman was MOM for me though. Made big changes that baffled us but ended up being genius. Then at 3-2 he changes to 3 at the back and we took control again.

Final word to Robles. He was let down today by his defence and he kept our head above water. He is turning into a quality number 1.

Brlliant game and goodison was the best I've heard in 3 years. Ferocious!

Agree with every bit of that blue John. And Ross's overall game has changed dramatically. Especially his tackling and desire to win ball back. He's got his confidence back and what a player he looks. I think koeman clearly demonstrated he understands tactics and has multiple plans. Really enjoyed performance!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think ross got told a few home truth,s jcl and its done him the world of good mate..

04 Feb 2017 19:38:05
Absolutely Ed. But it's been a pleasure watching him mature. Always been behind the lad. given he's a local boy and Everton fan. some of the fans forgot it at times, and u can tell it hurt him.

Fantastic result. Few slack goals let in but still a great victory. Robles made some saves that kept us in it in the second half. Strange that letting in 3 and still playing good. That's my opinion anyway. ROM obviously man of the match. Lookman was very good in the first half.

Cleverly and Niasse got wins today also. Fair play to Niasse. Couldn't of scored against a better side.

Is there an injury concern with McCarthy Ed025 do you know? He played well today. Davies showed some good runs when he came on also. Great to be a blue.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think james got a knock early in the second half NBTB but not sure if him coming off was tactical or not, very entertaining game if you dont have heart problems mate.. :)

04 Feb 2017 17:14:14
Hi Ed haven't seen the match today but really chuffed we won 6.3, but R K will not be happy about letting 3 goals in today, i saw the match against Stoke and we seemed quite tight at the back, what was the reason today any ideas cheers, GuernseyBlue.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - the defence was poor GB, and the midfield attacking wise were very good but defensively inept, we panicked a bit to be honest mate..

04 Feb 2017 17:26:32
Thanks Ed, GuernseyBlue.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no probs GB..

04 Feb 2017 18:26:28
I agree Ed025. Their 2 goals rattled us. We were stunned by it. The 2 goals were very bad defensively by us. Players just not clued in mentaly if you ask me. Probably felt too comfortable being 3 goals up.

What impressed me most about today was how we recovered. It was brilliant. It took a while for the players to settle after conceding the 2 but then the players hit back and dug deep to get a convincing win in the end. Koeman is brilliant with subs. Not sure about taking McCarthy, as in was it because of injury or what. He did score one and assisted another so I'd be surprised if it wasn't to do with an injury.

We truly have the grit and determination we were so lacking before. Koeman getting his methods in place. People saying we might catch Utd. I don't think we will. More like we might catch the other half. They are on the slide. They'll be lucky to finish in top 6 the way they are going. Utd overall are I proving a lot this last couple of months. Expect them to climb over the dark side and maybe even City.

We have a good momentum. After today no doubt defense will be worked on. Maybe even a return for Jags. I bet he's chomping at the bit to get back in.

It's interesting how in the two games McCarthy has started recently we lost control of the midfield when he was subbed (the reds and today) .

Think the contribution he makes is hugely underestimated (especially by a lot of our supporters) so it's good to see him getting recognition lately.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he just like ross has had the koeman treatment CT, they have been told a few home truth,s and told that if they dont buck their ideas up then they are out the door...and its working a treat mate..

04 Feb 2017 22:43:32
Agree CToffee. His contribution goes unnoticed. Think Koeman has got a proper sense of the players and have changed his mind slightly on McCarthy. He changed his mind on Deloufeu. Started good but hasn't got much of a look in. Looks like the reverse for McCarthy.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2017 10:26:05
Just think we have too many defensive mids. nothing personally against McCarthy. but the manager has achoice of McCarthy, Barry, Gana and Davies to fill one or two positions. that is just healthy competition and something we never had before.

04 Feb 2017 16:56:28
That was one of the strangest second halves of football I've ever watched. I thought Robles made a few crucial saves today. Good to see niasse helped turn the reds over. European football is in touching distance now. Coyb.

Just seen the team news and can't believe Davis is dropped for Barry!

Davis has improved Barkley and I hope his form doesn't drop.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Feb 2017 14:36:43
I agree, totally ridiculous. I suppose that Koeman is trying not to burn Davies out but with Barry and McCarthy in mid-field I can't see much attacking promise. We will see but not as exciting as it would have been with Davies in the team.

04 Feb 2017 14:29:58
I thought it strange. Don't think schneiderlin will have 90 mins in him just yet. could be to introduce Gana and Davies second have to give midfielder more energy.

Hi Eds just wondering how many of the numerous players, sent out on loan in January, could be back with us at the end of the season? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They all will be.}

04 Feb 2017 14:34:15
I think he ment that the players out on loan, are the club looking to shift them on. Certainly players will leave us after the loan deal. Don't know if any are on a loan to buy deal.
