I posted the other day that Spurs had more than Bale but we must fancy our chances more now we won't have a better time to play them they'll be tired from tonight's game and now they have Bale, Defoe, Gallas and Lennon all out injured!

Looks like Spurs won't have Bale, or Lennon, on sunday for our game lennon calf, Bale had to be carried of with what looks like a serious ankle injury at the end. With Defoe already missing I think we have a much better chance now on Sunday considering were missing two of our best players as well but we have a great chance now.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We still got the likes of osman mirallas and gibson in our side. coleman can now be the gareth bale on the pitch on sunday now

Bale and Defoe both injured for our game, with the Welshman being out for at least 6 weeks (possibly season).

Here's to 3 points.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Still going to be a very tough game, spurs have a deep team

Agree0 Disagree0

They don't really have a deep squad, especially with the players they have out. They have no natural wide players fit in the squad, one senior striker, about 5-6 fit defenders.

They are there for the taking, just a case of us seizing this golden opportunity

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs don't have a deep team. They have 1 amazing player and lots of average players {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Do you know what sort of wedge Hondas on Ed? If it's similar to Fellainis, then surely he's the only big player we'll be able to bring in with the Fellain, which is why I'd rather see us bring in younger players or players from prestigious leagues. Maybe someone like Siem de Jong, and spend the rest of the money on improving other areas. Btw, do you have any incline as to whether we're looking to stick with Jela next season or wanting to bring in another forward? Cheers.
Olly. {Ed025's Note - he is on £2,000,000 per year olly..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How much is that a week Ed? {Ed007's Note - I'll try and find someone to work that out and get back to you asap. It might be tomorrow morning by the time Jimmy Mutant Toes is back in the office, he has borrowed the batteries from the calculator to help him to do a review of the latest butt-plug for our adult-only site.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just ask Ed01. He's earning double that so ask him what he earns in half a week!

If Chelsea come in for Fellini moyes should get lukaku part exchange with about £18mill

Believable1 Unbelievable2

We should try to get josh mceachran the kid looks quality

Agree0 Disagree0

We should get Gamiero or Honda, more creative players and not expensive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get real we won't get 18m and Lukaku for fellaini as Lukaku cost chelsea 18m in the first place, so why would chelsea give him away for free for?

Apparently Kenwright has lost interest in the Honda deal. He was originally having a look at him and his his fellow teammate Ichifani, but pulled out last minute when he realised the he was being a bit rash and could get his fingers burnt - they were both taking him for a ride it seems.

I feel that its going to be an interesting summer at goodison. I personally think that moyes will stay regardless of where we finish in the league. (7th I think) but hope i'm wrong. If he does stay I think he will have a bit of money to spend in the summer and I hope we go back in for Fer. I don't think we need that many players 2-3 only. I think fellaini will leave but not baines. Heres hoping to a strong end to the season and an interesting summer to come

If one of the British clubs wins the Europa cup will that take away 5th place or will we get a extra place in Europe? Wigan or Millwall will get one place If Chelsea finish top 4. But if Newcastle won would that take away 5th spot. Or if Chelsea's or spurs win Europa cup and finish 5th would 6th spot then get Europe? I know a lot can happen but I just hope we can finish in top 4 and all the above is pointless.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Wigan or milwall will not get one if chelsea finish top 4, only if they win the fa cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry but either wigan or millwall will get a europa spot regardless if they win the cup final or not, see stoke 2011 lost to city in the final but were in Europe the next season.

Just seen Fellini, he has given me a tip for the grand national. He said, big fella thanks, each way bet. I am going to put £20 notes on that horse.

Thanks big fella

So I take it you spoke to him while he was in spain on skype, I know he always makes his prioritys to speak to the fans while he is abroad and gives them betting tips! LOL

Leroy Fer should be are number 1 target IMO he is similar to Dembele but more of a goal threat.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Agreed, Osman and Gibson are good midfielders, but to me, they are far too similar. Certain times we lack physicality in the middle of the park, and that is what Fer can bring, has a good engine on hi so he can get up and down the pitch as well, and as you said, he is a goal threat from midfield.

Was absolutely gutted when we missed out on him in January, really think he could've been a difference maker for us the rest of the season and fingers crossed we go back in the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

But he was always a 'safety play' in case felli got nabbed last minute - we had no money for him did we - and he was never going to be bought unless felli went

I am worried that we are about to lose David Moyes because there seems to be a group of fans who think we will be better off without him. I have said this before, but will say it again: In football you are better off not getting rid of someone until you have a better replacement lined up. That goes for youth football through to premier league and includes players, managers, ball boys or whoever. David Moyes came in when we were (I think) 3rd from bottom and got the players responding (and the fans) to the point we have regularly been in the top 8. Our last few managers before him had regularly seen us in the bottom 8. Moyes has turned around the fortunes of our great club. What makes this even more remarkable is the fact that we have been competing with teams (including our closest rivals) who have had large injections of foreign money that has allowed them to qualify for Champions League places. Champions League places generate an average of £25 million. The last 11 years top 4 has remained almost unchanged. This means our competitors have had approx 50 million more than us in each of those 11 seasons to spend on wages and fees to sign new players. Our main rivals even stole about £200 million from 2 gullible yanks 3 years ago to add to this fund. Add all this up and you have a team that has had about £750 million spent on it and they currently lie one place below us in the league table. Last season they finished below us. Look at the Man City figures and although a shorter timespan, they have also outspent us by ridiculous amounts.
To summarise, I firmly believe we have a really special manager who with the right funding, will take us to places beyond our dreams. But that is based on him staying. To those supporters who are saying he has done as much as he can, please tell me who can come in and compete in the same manner? I know of no other manager who has turned a club around so significantly except for one. That is Sir Alex Ferguson. It is no shock to me to hear that Sir Alex's choice as someone to succeed him is no other than Mr David Moyes.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Moyes said himself "Teams generally finish in line with their wages"
and you can't argue with that -
that's generally where we've been finishing with Moyes (8th-6th) - maybe one or two places higher - (but with newcastle excepted as best players do not want to live up there)

so he's no saviour - he's no messiah - he's done what he more or less should have done but we've won nout because Moyes plays defensive first football and cannot make a sub when it's obvious it needs changing

he only makes a sub once opposition have scored and its too late

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 2nd post utter rubbish, under moyes when we've had the players like this season we have played great football, as for were we should be everyone always says we punch above our weight and 3 manager of the year awards a record I think? funny how people remember all the bad subs and tactics and not the good ones PADDOCKBLUE

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Paddock Blue for seeing my point. Also to the second post, you still don't tell us who is to replace Moyes. That's the jist of my post. I hear this am on the news that Neil Lennon may be the guy. God help us there! Every referee will be at fault in every game! Even in a league where they get 98% of decisions, he moans when the odd one goes against them. And as for Moyes only achieving as per his spend, what rubbish you are talking. I will list some teams who have vastly outspent us and maybe you want one of their managers in charge? Or past managers after they were sacked? QPR, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Fulham, Liverpool. I guess even some Championship sides have outspent us: Leeds, Notts Forest, Leicester, Blackburn. TBH you have talked utter rubbish. Spurs at home. 1 nil down, Vellios on. etc We were top of the European entertainment league half way through the season. More attempts at goal than Real Madrid / Barcelona / Milan etc. Moyes is not a God, but he has worked miracles with the budget he has. How many other managers have developed or bought and lost players of the quality of: Rooney, Lescott, Arteta. Then still able to replace them and come up with a stronger squad. Sorry but you do not understand football as much as you think you do.

IMO we don't really need to buy that many players in the Summer because I think we're only 2-3 players away from consistently breaking into that top 4.

I'd like to see this team next season:

Outs-

Fellaini - £25-£30 million (depending on who comes in for him)
Neville - Retired
Hitzlsperger - Free
Mucha - £1. 50 and a cornetto.

Ins-

GK: Begovic - £8 million
CM: Honda - £5 million
RM: Mertens - £12 million

Team for next season:

--------------Begovic------------------
---Coleman-Jagielka-Distin-Baines---
---Mertens-Gibson-Honda-Pienaar---
---------------Mirallas-----------------
---------------Jelavic------------------

Subs: Howard, Osman, Naismith, Anichebe, Duffy & Stones

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Not enough quality on the bench imo. Rob Walker

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Barkley, Oviedo, Heitinga or a few of the younger players in that squad but I'd be happy with the signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a thin squad so 3 new players won't be enough especially when you include departures in that too.

Agree0 Disagree0

If de gea cost 21m then stoke will want about that much for begovic, unless he's out of a contract soon

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence but WHY would Stoke let Begovic go for 8 Million? IMO I think we should go and keep Tim Howard and Mucha. yes, he's S***E but I don't think we would be willing to spend a quarter of our around £7,000,000 budget on a sub keeper. unless Felli goes, I can't see anything changing in the nets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honda is a free agent mate {Ed001's Note - not until the January window.}

I feel that if Bill K cannot generate enough interest from an investor this season with us riding high in the league and our manager well thought of. then he should justify the lack of movement on this front to the fans through the publicity department. No information is frustrating and the "there is always someone interested" wore thin some time ago. No one is saying it is easy to attract the right people as has been shown by other clubs experience, but after nothing happening for so long, the fans deserve a bit more feedback over the trials and tribulations of this process. Unless Bill is about to surprise us with the big announcement we all dream of, at least let us know something of the netcasting that is going on to catch the big fish we need to compete at the top level consistently. No feedback just feeds the feeling that we don't know how to sell the club beyond putting a price tag on it.

Bk is not a proper scouser most of us
Could sell sand to a Arab never mind
Are great club does anyone know where
The club is advertised as for sale. The
rubbish employed a firm to take there
Product around the world looking for
Investors Thailand china Russia India
USA I don't think bill has got further
Than Sutton an kersh on county road
If he carnt be arsed trying to find a good deal then employ someone who
Will he should stop useing stiffs who
Don't care about the club employ a good scouser to represent us and give
Them the backing to get out there and
Find us a our billionaire he needs to do this now because financially he has not
Made one good deal at Everton. messed
Up Bellefield and finch farm deals aswell as kings dock even our kit deal is
rubbish it's not even with Nike it's with
Kit bag who refuse to make anything other than basic kit for under 10s wich has lost us more money bk needs to do
Something quick before he's remembered in the same bracket as
Johnson if he can find the investor iam
Sure people wil remember him fondly
At the moment he is the man holding the club back

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct, Re Kitbag, we’re that well run that whilst every other “top flight” club in the premiership receives millions of pounds from their kit supply deals with major kit manufacturers our club receives nothing; the effect of which is that whilst other clubs strengthened in the January window our manager, despite asking the board for money, was left twiddling his thumbs.

Agree0 Disagree0

What u on about we bid for fer and got stones in! yes the deal collapsed but we had funds just didn't use them!

ant wharton

Agree0 Disagree0

Fer was only possible if there was an outgoing and apparently EFC were going to sell a player but misjudged or miscalculated the contract of a certain player by 12 months. Subsequently, we tried to renegotiate terms with FC Twente and attempt to pay in installments, which failed. It had nothing to do with his knee. Moyes had £3m left from the Rodwell deal to sign Stones. If we had cash all window then we would have gone in for Fer earlier but, as I've said, it was reliant on an outgoing which was cocked up.

I care about the club an i'm not a scouser
