The commentators on sky didn't help, commenting on the atmosphere and saying the fans don't want Everton to win, every 5 minutes!. Really got me angry that. Fact of the matter is I went to a game against Arsenal a few years back and it was like a mausoleum!. It's usually, but not always rocking in there.

Lost the game by the odd goal in five, don't see how anyone could say we threw the game, we lost to a good side who will, in all probability, win the prem. If the England and club captain has a mare, it not our fault, if it comes out that way, they will just av to suck it up like we did in a certain FA CUP SEMI, not so long ago.

alright guys haven't posted in a while, just thought i'd have a look over the season and what is needed in the summer, overall the season has been fantastic and new style of football is one of the best in the league! also love the young players coming through the futures bright! back in europe and hopefully in the big european competition competition after next season, in summer personally think we do need 7 players like roberto said, I think we need a defensive ball playing midfielder, a left footed center half, 2 decent strikers, 2 loan signings of a deulofeu replacement and probably a scentral midfielder, and a creative attacking midfielder to go along with ross, think that will provide the amount we need to cope with european nights plus the amount of young players still coming through, its a good time to be blue, and I look forward to seeing you all at goodison next season! hope you all have a great summer with the signings being even better!

Roberto Martinez and all the players at Everton are too professional, there is no way in hell we threw that game. I think it's testament to how well we have transformed under Martinez that I was completely satisfied despite losing; not because it limits Liverpool's chance, but because I know the club is moving forward. The only disappointment was the lack of singing. For people who went and didn't watch the game on TV, Gary Neville was mocking how quiet we were! We are the best fans in the world supporting the best club, we should be singing our hearts out no matter the score and getting behind the boys.

Evening Gents,

I know I have had a couple of run-in's with a few of you boys on here, all good friendly banter, and i'm not gloating about us finishing 4th (disappointing bearing in mind we were top of the table for almost 4 months).

Would just like to say, in all honesty, barring the past 3 or 4 games, I think Everton have been one of the best teams in the league this season.

Martinez has taken you to another level, you are hard to beat (your goals conceded column proves testament to that), and you have played very decent football all season, on a shoe-string budget.

Wish you all the best for the remainder of the season, have a good summer transfer window, keep supporting Martinez and your boys and look forward to playing your boys again next season.

All the best, Dags.

{Ed025's Note - well said mate..

03 May 2014 21:22:07
I was very disappointed with our fans today thought boys played well but if fans would of got behind them we would of won that game no doubt about it atmosphere was non existent which I have never seen at goodison before yes I can understand not wanting Liverpool to win title but come on I want us to win every match and finish with as many pts as possible really could off made arsenal really work for 4th but now they can relax for there last 2 matches, last point barkley anyone who thinks he is overhyped then clearly does not know a top footballer when they see one the boy is going right to the top only problem is england have to change there system to accomadate him which is why I don't think he will be picked as part of the 23 players which will be an outrage considering how he can drive at players with power and craft he is a special player and can see so much of the great Zidane in him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The supporters were confused you're right it was strange.

forget what fans were singing your players went for it. last 15 they played like they were playing for the title. so being rivals aside well done your lads today what a great game to watch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate, tell your friends, most of them think we threw it..

Call it as I see it mate. name another team that has made city resort to bad fowls to stifel them. if its ment to be it will. and I think it will btw

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks mate. As ed said, can you convince the other reds this

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but Everton played with no tempo, no passion and no fight until about the 70th minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that's your opinion mate..

Ed am sorry but it was fairly obvious, the team was clearly afraid to attack, the only players who tried imo we're Barkley who was fantastic, Naismith and Coleman.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - afraid to attack?...we scored 2, and according to souness, joe hart was magnificent, and made a world class save...wind your neck in fella..you sound very bitter to me..

I've supported Everton for just under 30 years and it was the first time I can remember that I didn't know what result I wanted. As soon as we kicked off though my heart ruled my brain and it was impossible not to want Everton to win. When Ross scored my first reaction was. what a goal! And when City equalised my first reaction was. oh B******s. I found it very strange and hard not to care if we lose but as the game went on I think it became apparent that the majority of fans wanted us to lose. I'm not having a go as I fully understand where most blues are coming from but I just hope Arsenal don't lose their last two games as I'm damn certain we could have won that game under normal circumstances. Don't get me wrong, I'll hate it the RS win the league but it was just a weird day as on another day we would have been celebrating a win and Ross' goal. Want to finish by saying that finishing 5th in RM's first year is an outstanding achievement and I can't wait for next season. Hopefully we end on a high against Hull.

No ratings lads as I wasnt watching everton, what a season we have had, special goal by ross today, made up with the result, strangest feeling at goodison ever today for me, let's just hope city go on to destroy villa and de ammers, I just don't get people saying they wanted us to win even after fifth was secured, do you really want them winning the league? Anyway, well done to the players and bobby, fantastic season, can't wait for the next, COYB! COME ON CITEH!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I wanted us to win because I am an everton fan. Gutted we lost! I couldn't give a toss if liverpool won the league! I would never want everton to lose just to scupper liverpool plans! All this wanting city to win talk over the past few days has been ridiculous we should concentrate on everton and nothing else! I'm all for local rivalry but wanting to lose a game! No chance!
The atmosphere was a joke today the lads on the pitch were playing to win whole the crowd were giving them nothing! Should be embarrassed! Live on tv aswell for all to see! Well done!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same Ross who ye wanna sell swan wink wink nudge nudge well done city come on two moor results please. O an hats off to Roberto in his first season at the big show well done sir an may many moor great seasons follow three cheers for Mr Martinez

Im an everton fan, still wanted us to lose, not arsed if we lose to hull either, we are fith, no higher and no lower and i'd rather finish fifth and liverpool don't win it than finish fifth and they do, so at the start of the season if you were given the option which would you pick, would you say 'im not arsed abar liverpool so give them it', no if the roles were reversed would they want us to win it? No, all this nonsense about 'youre not a real evertonian of you want us to lose' rubbish, you're not a real everton fan if you are going to sit there and be happy for liverpool to win it, for the next 20 years I wouldn't hear the end of it, no thanks i'd rather sacrifice one game that meant nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't say I'll be happy for them to win I'm saying I wouldn't want us to lose a game just to stop them winning the league, so liverpool fans will give us some grief if they win! So what!were adults we can take it! I want everton to win every game no matter what! I'm not a real evertonian for wanting everton to win? You make me laugh

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2014 21:12:04
Didnt say that, you're not a real everton fan if you're HAPPY for liverpool to win it

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again swan never said I'm happy for them to win it but if they do then so be it! At the end of the day my focus is on everton I can take any gloating their fans can throw at me! Because it makes it all the sweeter when (and I mean when) we get the glory days back and start challenging for the title ourselves! But if arsenal fail to win both games, city drop points and in doing so hand the title to liverpool then we are all going to look pretty stupid! Think of the grief you will get then! Highly unlikely scenario I know but certainly not impossible!
I don't want to fall out with fellow evertonians over this, I just disagree with wanting to lose!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - I never like it myself si..

Swan - I actually agree with a lot of what you post on here but quite frankly tonight you a being a bit silly fella.
Barkley on that showing is the best player to wear the shirt in my lifetime. He has been ass the last 3 months but he was magnificent today. Greedy selfish those things you hate but he should be if he always plays like that, incredible performance.
Now on to the debate at hand, look I thought our performance merited a result today, thought we were great, essentially battered them but for a Howard mistake (there 1st) and a Hart wonder save we would have won. I'm gutted for the players that they didn't. I genuinely don't understand how as a fan of the club you could be happy to see us lose when we played really well. This whole doing us a favour stuff is nonsense anyway. We finish 5th because of our performance after 38 games just like every other team finishes where they will because of their league games. We wouldn't of won, or lost the league for anyone today it was just 3 points up for grabs. The league after 38 does not lie. So I personally am embarrassed by any one calling themselves an Evertonian and was at Hoodison and was not screaming for the equalliser to be put in the net that our performance merited. Shame on you, shame on a lot of you by the sounds of it. Thought we were better than that. How do you expect us to compete at the top end when so many of you are so small minded. Pathetic. Taking a break from this site as no point in bantering with people who don't want the team to win no matter what. That's what it comes down to. Put a tenner on us losing every week that way when we do lose you can celebrate something irrelevant

Agree0 Disagree0

To ed25 and Swan among others let me put it in words you might see a bit clearer.
From now on those wanting us to lose should sing the following;

It's a grand old team to play for
It's a grand old team to support
And if you know your history
Well it's enough to make your heart go oooooooooooooooh
We do care what the red side say because we're close minded fools
Cos we only know that we'd rather lose the show if it effects Liverpool.

Pathetic goodnight

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have said many a time that i wanted us to win svenny, but its no good crying over spilt milk mate..

Finally I beginning to think I was the only one! Well said svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty sad for any Everton fan to hope for a loss today also pretty sad for anyone to think we think we didn't try win the game today who cares f. k Liverpool hopefully we will do even better next season the future is very bright for us and we should all b proud of our team this season really enjoyed it great to b a blue always has bin

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2014 23:18:22
Okay svenny at first your post was nice then it became silly in itself, I don't bet on us losing nor do I hope for us to lose every game just to effect liverpool, unfortunately today it was us vs city, top four was gone, we had nothing left to do but imo I don't want liverpool to win anything, if top four was still on (mathematically it was but logically, it wasnt), say we were a point off or level on points I would of been well up for this and want us to win, as I do EVERY game home and away, but today why not, you know? Why not take a defeat just to make living a bit easier, a lot of people who wanted us to win are either not from liverpool and don't know what the red side are like or they are kids who have not experienced life when they have been successful, i'm not saying you are either of them but I don't get it, why gift them the title, all this 'i want as many points as possible' stuff is pointless, 72 points finish fifth and liverpool win title or 69 points finish fifth and liverpool don't win title, the people I feel sorry for if they win it are kids, lads in school who have never spoken a word about football all of a sudden are the biggest liverpool fans in the world, rubbing it in your face at every chance, 'we don't care what the red side say' is rubbish, we made a song about it, course we care, svenny, again when you exaggerate and say I bet on everton losing then hope we lose is childish, I have never wanted us to lose a game in my life and hopefully never will again, in fact, this may sound stupid but today I didn't want everton to lose, I just wanted city to win, regardless, its been a great season and can't wait for the next one! COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

You wanted everton to lose! That's it pure and simple! And why? Because if liverpool win the league they will say horrible things to everton fans and they will tease and bully us! Awwwwww

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 May 2014 19:43:11
. was it me, or did we just throw that game against Sitteh? Please tell me I have a vivid imagination, but the atmosphere in the crowd, the lack of conviction & intent shown at times going forward was just unbelievable & as for their 3rd goal, well that's another story. we just looked like a team today that finished the season 2 weeks ago! Lukaku again did nothing for me, we need to bring in Bony, ship out Alcatrash & sign a couple of new defenders, Barry on a free & try & prise Llalana away from Southampton on a free transfer (lol :-D). , joking aside though - it's been a great season, I think it was a season too soon for champions league football anyway & I'll take Europa League all day long, as long as we make the necessary squad additions needed to cover for the extra games.finally, Martin Tyler (commentating on this evenings game) raised the question about his bafflement as to why Everton have yet still to find a wealthy investor & stated that he felt maybe Kenwrights asking price is too high, to which I totally agree - so Bill, if you're listening, please please lower your price to a more realistic figure mate!
Goodnight

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Zacki don't judge alcaraz on 6 or 7 games in a season.he is a good player.but your mind is obviously made up on him.he has a lot to offer for us. He will play in euro league for sure if he stays fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2014 18:56:53
Getting this post in quick while there's a break in play; this is the strangest atmosphere I've ever experienced at the old lady. Lukaku scores and we hardly celebrate, mad!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It seems to me the players are throwing the match mate.no 2 ways about it, have to say I'm quite disappointed, Martinez looks passionate & genuine, but most of the players don't!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Zacki, disgrace to football tbh, Martinez should move on to a club who have the same aspiration as Martinez, the players and the majority of the fans purposely threw the game, it'd be great if Arsenal draw/lose their next 2 games to teach the clowns who call themselves Everton fans a lesson.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your talking as though we cost you the league plymouth?, you done that all by yourselves mate..so get off your high horse! we got beaten 3-2 by the best team in the league, you have blown it, and i have got to say..im made up...so deal with it!..

The Premier League title is won over the course of 38 matches. Likewise, finishing fourth is determined by the points gained over the course of 38 matches. Every team drops points along the way and every one of those dropped points has made a difference to where a team finishes. Other teams can't give you more points to cover what you've already dropped. To blame other teams for how they "perform" in particular matches is clutching at straws in my humble opinion.
If other teams get results that help your team - or hinder your team - then so be it, but every team should only look to themselves and not rely on others to do their work for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - wise words Sid,..

Ed025, this is nothing to do about us throwing it, I know and accept it was in our hands, I still think City will drop points, it's just sad the way the fans conducted themselves today live on television for the world to see how bitter they are, absolute disgrace.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that's unfair mate, yes the fans were a bit subdued, but that was because we had already secured 5th, and it was highly unlikely we could go higher, so it was a nothing game really, and the only reason you are on here is that you were after a favour off us, and we never obliged!....poor me..poor me..pour me another drink, I'm celebrating.. :)

Ed025, if your fans actually backed the players and certain players gave more effort you would of won comfortably, so you shouldn't be happy with a 3-2 defeat.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - I'm happy, that in a traditional season for us we have finished 5th..

I didn't know there was a Plymouth in Norway ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2014 21:26:41
Like youse backed your players in 2010 and 1995? We will be sure to learn more from these great liverpool fans in the future, they are perfection, never do anything 'anti football' do they?

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is you need to aim higher, Europa league isn't that financially rewarding compared to the CL, how will you feel now if Arsenal draw their last 2 games? honest answer please.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if arsenal do lose the next 2, it will be because they have achieved their aim, if they needed to beat them I'm sure they could..

Don't you mean transitional season Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - I did azul, bloody predictive text..

Calling us bitter when your coming on our page to have a moan that we couldn't do you a favour after you messed up, seems fairly hypocritical really. Also I did want us to lose because I can stand the rs

Ps I don't care if you don't agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Im unhappy we lost but for a red like plymouth red(plymouth is 1 mile south of liverpool lol) to come on here saying we threw it because it affects them is stupid.if ya want a favour plymouth go and ask your neighbour if you can borrow his lawnmower.dont come on here sucking up for favours and spitting your dummie because in your eyes we chucked it when we didnt.try blaming stevie for slipping first.always blaming others.

Spurs are losing if it stays like that 5th is ours either way they would have to win 15 nil in there last match hoping we lose to City and hull.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why to Hull?

Agree0 Disagree0

Manutd could theoretically still get 5th if they win three and we lose our two games

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless UTD draw or lose one of their remaining matches then we need 1 point to guarantee 5th. We have virtually secured Europe (6th) unless there is a 20 goal swing in goal difference between us and Spuds

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland win 1- 0 at Old Trafford . Everton guaranteed at least 5th Position and EUROPE .

Agree0 Disagree0

Because if we lose to City there still 3 points behind us Pk so they will need us to lose to Hull and them to win about 15 nill Goal difference mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

They've got a game in hand mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

A draw against city would be good enough but I don't care a jot about the reds I want a win to prove we can mix with the best. I don't care about how much crap they come out with IF they win the title. I still don't think they will.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2014 14:02:42
watch the hammers beating the spuds here and it looks like we have qualified for europe, on another not diame is playing superb, fast, strong, skillful and very comfortable on the ball. not seen enough of him to say he would fit in with us but he looks a decent player

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 May 2014 07:26:02
Will we qualify for Europa if we finish 6th if arsenal win the FA cup?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 May 2014 08:44:55
5th and 6th are guarenteed europa football irrespective of arsenals position and cup result.

Agree0 Disagree0

6th place gets a europa spot as man city won the league cup and wontbneed that spot as they are taking a champions league spot. If arsenal win the fa cup and finish 4th then hull will have the last remaining spot.
