It's been good on here the last few days Blues, the feel good factor has started flowing again, it was getting depressing constantly reading the negative posts and personally I stopped using the site as much, i'm guessing a few more did too, let's just get this season over and roll on the transfer window as it's going to be the maddest one in prem league history and I know one thing, if any of our players do go it will be either because they are not needed, don't want to be here and if they are one of the stars it will be for top dollar which with Moshy will no doubt be ALL invested in the team/ stadium.

{Ed025's Note - the mood has improved degs, but a really tough game against the hammers at the weekend and lets hope if things dont go too well that its still like that mate..

We won on Tuesday mate but it was poor, but I will take the win, RM put a strong side out but his subs where bad again, Sorry we got money now so let's get a decent manager.

What was bad about the subs? Seen a few say that. Don't really understand why the subs were bad?

Stig may mean because Niasse only came on with 3 minutes to go mate.

We are all waiting to see Niass with Luk, that game was calling for him, 30/ 20 would have done it for me, 3 mins is an insult to any player mate.

{Ed025's Note - im with you stig, it seemed the perfect opportunity to me mate..

03 Mar 2016 15:28:27
Totally agree stig. Any substitution with less than 5mins to go is beyond me.

The reason I asked was because you said 'subs'. This lead me to believe you meant all subs. I agreed with putting on Stones even though some people are using him as the scapegoat for the goal. I think he deserves some minutes in games.

No doubt Jags and Mori are number one centre backs. I would of took off Jags instead of Coleman. Stones is definitely not a right back or wing back. Only centre back or defensive midfielder for me. I know it was more or less 3 at the back but the defence lost their shape I thought. Especially when Baines came on.

The other sub was injury to Oviedo and Baines came on so I was wondering why people were giving out about that one. Pretty straight forward to me. So first two subs I agreed with.

It appears some people just love giving out about Martinez. There was times where he made bad subs in previous games. I've said that before myself. I thought everything went really well Tues night. Only snag was the Niasse substitution. I'm mad to see what he is like myself. There could be some reason for it that we are not aware of. I'd personally like to see him for the very least 20mins on Sat.

This thing of putting on a sub with a few minutes to go is nonsense imo. No matter who it is.

Sorry stig I thought you may be giving out about Martinez just for the sake of it. Which plenty seem too eager to do. I know now that's not what you were saying. Too many using Stones as a scapegoat as well. Did other people see Jags was there for their goal also? But the finger is pointed at Stones because he was introduced shortly before that.

I totally agree Stig, even on 80 minutes would have been something but 87 mins, that was ridiculous.

Murf,
You think it's gloomy on here?

Jeez, pop over to Arsenal page mate :-)

ha ha Dags, you guys should be used to the way you are going though mate, every season we all know what happens at the Gunners, amazing until Xmas with huge possibility of winning the league then 2nd half awful, rumours that you have 75 million to spend, why didn't he get a top striker in Jan then if that was sitting in the bank, probably would be top of the prem mate, are you a Wenger out or in Dags?

Degs.

Loads of posts about giving RM another year, perhaps we should wait until after the following three fixtures
West Hame (H)
Chelsea (H) Cup
Arsenal (H)
For me he must win all three to show we can compete with the best.

Jasus, if he won all 3 of them I'd give him a new contract. You don't ask for much Mushy.

03 Mar 2016 15:33:01
I agree with you mushy, but only fear I have is that they are all home games.for some reason the players don't perform to the standard of away games.whether it's the crowd, atmosphere or mentally, I don't know, but there's definitely a problem. Bobby won't do it but to go 4-1-3-2 would show a more attacking side at home. Put lukaku and niasse up together. I think lukaku could thrive with niasse working his sock off up along side him.

Would like to see that formation against lesser teams dent.

03 Mar 2016 19:01:30
Okay same question as last night when people suggested a change in formation, who do you drop?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 07:57:44
For me against lesser teams maybe rest Barry McCarthy or besic playing as the one niasse lukaku up top.

Its great in theory, but who are the lesser teams in the league, everyone seems to beat each other at the moment.

I said this few weeks ago but just a thought.
With Chelsea, city and probably utd getting new managers, klopp only new in the job and us having moshiri on board,
I am excited to see how many players are going to be flying round the premier league until the end of August.
Also with the promise of huge money in the league next season, turnover of players across the league will be huge.
Just hope we keep our best players, rom, stones, barkley, geri, etc.

What concerns me is with Coleman the recognised RB, Jags and now Mori recognised CB, where does Stones get in the team. I can't see him being satisfied warming the bench every match day and neither will he even if he wants to stay.

03 Mar 2016 10:09:46
Exactly my thoughts too Keenone. A back 4 that keeps clean sheets is priceless so that doesn't look too promising for Stones. It's a dilemma because Jags isn't getting any younger but we do need to keep stones to replace him down the line.

But will he be patient when the next transfer window opens?

Tough one that.

I am obviously in a minority of one in not seeing Stones as either a CB, FB or WB. He is not going to stop playing the ball out or messing about in the area, it is in his makeup. I see the lad as an old fashioned Libero or just in front of the back four. Proof of that is how good he looks when he brings the ball out.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 11:10:05
If the others in our back-four continue playing well and retain their places, then I'd like to see Stones given a chance in the Gareth Barry role. He's faster, more energetic and better on the ball than Barry, but has nowhere near the nous yet.
It won't happen of course - especially if RM is determined to try a three-at-the-back defence with wing-backs formation, which in my humble opinion our current players are just not suited to.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 11:35:49
I said that a few weeks back DM that I would occupy Stones in the position Spurs use Dier just in front of the back 4 so it's more 4-1-2-3 formation with him dropping back into a back 3 when we have possession allowing the fullbacks to go forward. Have McCarthy/ Besic with Barkley as the 2 in front of him and use Mirrallas left and Lennon/ delboy right supporting Rom in the 3 uptop. We then have 6 players in advanced positions when attacking and Macca/ Besic sitting in front of the back 3. I don't see were people are saying we don't have the players for this type of formation?

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 15:03:09
Martinez is going to go 3 at the back mostly next season IF he keeps Stones.

I think he would have done it more this season if jags was fit and Stones didn't lose form. It will help us if we do as the way we play attacking football it leaves us short at the back with just the two and Barry having to slip in and cover.

It will also give Stones a license to move forward without risking us too much at the back.

04 Mar 2016 19:45:29
IF they let us have their 2nd choice keeper, + 35 mill, the best position for jone stones, is anywhere in chelseas back 4.
