Just watched Tello on Youtube, awesome. He works right across the front line, very quick feet and great control. Most impressive is his ability to pick out a pass. His style very similar to GD's, not surprising as they obviously received the same training. I know Youtube can flatter, but the quality is very evident with him.

All these been linked, any or all of these I'd be happy. Lukaku or bony, Barry, caulker, him and stones together would be incredible, young besic and ziyech, peralta, great World Cup for Mexico. Keylor navas, top top goalie. Tello and traore on loan. I know we won't get em all, and to be honest whoever bobby gets I'm sure will be good, but it's fantastic being a blue, getting linked to all these players, COYB

{Ed025's Note - i agree steve..

So would navas be your number one over timmy.
Timmy gets my vote every day in tim I think we hsve one of the best keepers around

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too shakey..

Yacine Brahimi has to be in there for me mate. Him, Cerci, Martens Indi and Finnbogason (the pet project of Marco Van Basten to turn a so-so footballer into a goalscoring robo-striker dynamo). The last guy is very good and worth a gamble in my opinion. I would never want to replace Tim Howard, but Ochoa is available on a free. He had a great world cup too. Apart from the whole getting knocked out of it thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - Finnbogason signed for Sociedad yesterday.}

Really think we've missed a trick with Alfed Finnbogason. Only cost Real Sociedad €7.5 million and is leaving SC Herenveen as their all time leading scorer with 53 league goals in only two seasons.

{Ed025's Note - and what rubbish that is hendo...martin dobbo was class, and our charman for me is an honest guy who is everton through and through, and i for 1 am glad we have him..so put that in your pipe and smoke it!.. :)

What a load of tosh don't were you picked that up but it's embarrassing

Agree0 Disagree0

Martin Dobson "waste of money"? He was one of the few classy players of that 70s side under Gordon Lee. Duncan McKenzie was class as well but there weren't many others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't agree about Martin Dobson. He never played a forwards pass in his life. I remember watching him going round and round in circles and thinking quick pass it forwards now while we are on the break. Then he would slow down turn and knock it back into our own defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

We use to call Martin Dobson the CRAB he was rubbish definitely one of the worst midfield buys hhenderson

That's well and good Mike S, leave our targets till August but there is a good chance that they will be gone. Then where are we then. The top players usually are snapped up quickly. I would be interested to know what everybody thinks of Eto'o seems to be linked with us again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im not a fan EB, a mercenary for me mate, and he thinks he is a lot better than he actually is..

03 Jul 2014 18:00:41
Apologies if this issue has been raised before, but with our supposed link with Barcelona does anyone else think it may be an idea to take advantage of the famed la masia academy by sending some of our prospects that are close,, but unlikely to feature for the 1st team next season,, the likes of lesson and George green spring to mind. To give them an alternative footballing education,, like we did with deulofeu

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think something like that could be very beneficial for any youngster, can't really see it though to be honest

Ttalking about Goalkeepers and Gordon West got me thinking of the games against Leeds in the 60's, when it would be going off all over the pitch (remember Jimmy Gabriel kicking Bremner up in the air and then sitting on the little . , along with too many other incidents to mention could be here all night noting them) Thing is we have had all these media led rivalries over the years RS v Man U/Leeds, Man U v Arsenal. None of them came any where those games between 1964 and 1971

.Lukaku has agreed to a loan stint with Athletic Madrid & will tie up formalities with them at the end of Belgiums World Cup games. I think we'd better sign up Bony quick b4 it's too late. I guess this was always going to be the problem wiv our manager away on World Cup punditry. always been a great believer in getting your business done early & the biggest transfer targets should of been signed a& sealed by now!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When are you going to realise the reason the club don't do business early is because it saves money. That's why we spend mostly in August when the season is under way again as playing games brings in money.

Let him go, his 1st touch was like bouncing of a brick wall, this must mean Negredo may be available, could be worth a shout

Agree0 Disagree0

Negrado would be a brilliant signing.not sure it will happen though. I'll take Bony (who'll score 5-10 goals more a season than Lukaku) & Etoo on a free! :D

'When are you going to realise the reason the club don't do business early is because it saves money. That's why we spend mostly in August when the season is under way again as playing games brings in money.'
-------
Nonsense. The reason that most of the significant business is left to August and beyond is that the first payment of the tv rights money comes in at the beginning of August. True, it saves a few bob but it's NOT the main reason for not doing business.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt Chelsea wanted him going back to a prem team to be honest, I don't even think he was an option although a lot of poeple seem to think we were part Owners and he's slapped us in the face

Andy Rankin?. Obviously you don't recall his penalty save against Borussia Munchenladbach. Or the 63/64 70/71 seasons, he never let us down in both cases when Westie lost his form.

Everton's World cup update: Lukaku's performance the other night probably means there will be loads of Champions League teams after him now. Unlikely we will get him. I would guess Bony is now our number 1 target. Super Kevin Mirallas has now put himself on the radar and I would think we will get offers for him from league winners around Europe. Will be difficult to hold on to him. Likewise, Tim Howard is now hot property. I hope both are on long term contracts. The club should now be doing all it can to let it be known in the USA especially. that Everton is the up and coming club that has a habit of nurturing these talents and turning them into model professionals. Tim Howard should be given an ambassadors role (out of season) to promote Everton in USA. We were too late to get the big Asian populations following us. Its all Manchester United and Chelsea. However, from a money making point of view, we should make it known that we are happy to be associated with USA and in particular, Tim Howard. He is a national hero over there now! It has taken 50 years to get "soccer" going over there and right now it is starting to explode! We should make a link with one of their top teams and even look to sign more top American players. Perhaps then we can get some investment and get to our rightful place at the top of the tree. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. One thing I know about USA.When they do something in business, they always win. They will win the world cup in the next 20 years!

Dont always agree with you other Degsy but the Tim Howard shout is spot on, he is a national hero and has highlighted football over there massively, there are some class statements on their news feeds i.e. Tim is that good he could have saved the meteor that destroyed the dinos lol. We could have a lot of yanks following us now, he signed a contract extension recently that ties him here until 2018, he will be 39 then.

Dont give up on Lukaku mate, he has hardly shone at the WC, a good 20 minutes in total and that's being generous to the lad, we may yet get him.

Super Kev - why they didn't play him from the beginning astounds me, love the guy, looking at the net he is contracted until Aug 2016.

One of todays papers states efc are incressingly confidant that they will sign lukaku on a permanint deal
