Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

03 Aug 2016 15:41:09
Here's my look at Lukaku and Stones. not once has our club come out and said we are selling them. I have heard Chelsea have not once bid for Lukaku and it's the media trying to sell our players. Jim White from sky tweeted that Costa is staying at Chelsea so why would they then bid 68 million for Lukaku when they have 4 strikers?

now to Stones; Pep said he is interested but doesn't know if it's possible now neither club have confirmed any bid have been made and it's once again the press running the stories to unsettle our players (mostly the Daily Mirror). I'm not saying they won't go but as it stands I expect Lukaku to stay and as each day goes by I also expect to Stones to stay.

how do others see it?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

04 Aug 2016 06:41:57
I think that you're correct about the press influences. But there probably have been bids for both. It's just that the clubs are very private.

Chelsea last year were nothing but crass the way they touted Stones as a Chelsea player designate. And that only strengthened our resolve not to sell. I think this year with Lukaku they have adopted a more respectful approach in order to get their man.

As for City, they have indeed declared their interest and are by no means presuming that a deal will be done.

We are being shown more respect by clubs wanting our players now because I believe they have had their fingers burned in the past. We just need the ignorant media to join the party. They're a bit slow on the uptake on that one.

See Lukaku response last night when he heard Bobby was his international manager 😅 it was phenomenal.

I think roberto will do well in international football. It is a lot slower than the premier league, which will suit his style.

Martinez didn't work for us but he's a nice guy and i for 1 wish him all the best.

03 Aug 2016 23:25:11
I agree. with the players he has though, they should qualify for all major tournaments. It's whether he can deal with tournament football and can he develop a plan b.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2016 01:40:13
Well he's only ever been successful in cup tournaments so u never know. But I highly doubt he'll do well for them. Hope he does like but can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2016 07:24:01
Trying to handle top playears with serious egos, can see him falling flat on his face. Lukaku response last night shows he's not happy about it. Mirallas has retired from international football because of it. Must have some serious negotiating skills to land a job like that on the back of a relegation and 2 poor seasons of piss poor defending and pass pass do nothing football. Looking at their qualifying group which contains Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Estonia, Cyprus, and Gibraltar even a man of his talent should be able to win this group although I'm going to have a cheeky bet on Bosnia to top the group now I know the Belgium boss. And just to finish his actual title is Head Coach, so will he have full control of squad selection? Or will he just stamp his crab system on the game and somebody else select the squad?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Aug 2016 07:46:50
Couldn't agree more anomblue. He didn't work out for us, but I still think he has a lot of qualities as a boss that could work well at international level. I hope he does well and wish him all the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2016 09:01:49
Disagree with Southern_Toffee (respect) Roberto Martinez is not a good Boss and his CV proves it. He is more attuned to what his Belgium title says and is exactly what I advocated about him for years. The guy is a good coach/ head coach but his time at Wigan and Everton is marked by very poor man-management. We have now at Everton a Manager/ Coach who recognises his strengths and weaknesses and wishes to free himself so that his strengths come to the fore, exactly why he (Koeman) likes to work with a DoF.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2016 14:14:22
bill - can't really disagree with much of your post or the points you make. But my point isn't that he is a great manager.

As you yourself recognise he does have good qualities. He also clearly has bad points. My point is that his good qualities suit international football well (such as instilling a philosophy, building beyond the first XI, slow and precise football) . His bad points, such as man management, won't have as much of an impact in international football as he will only see the players occasionally. Because of this I actually think he could do a good job there.

Certainly more qualified than Marc Wilmots who got the job with no managerial experience, just experience as a player and politician.

I have watched all pre season games and the testimonial tonight we need strengthing in a few positions we need another centre back as funes mori looks a liability at times also we are crying out for some creativity in midfield to unlock good defences a left winger and we seriously need 1 or 2 strikers to give some added competition thought holgate was outstanding in defence tonight wouldn't be surprised if he was around the first team squad this year koeman seems to like him.

I actually think he could be pretty good as an international manager. Say what you want about him but he did instill a philosophy to the club and instilled it all the way through the club from youth teams through to first team. He was also good in the cups. This all suits international football.

Looks like the Koeman agenda is to get back to basics of being defensively sound. Yes a couple of times utd got through but we looked more solid then we have been the last 2 years.
Still missing that carrier to link defence to attack, too many long balls and nobody on the end of them but hey its only a training exercise so not to concerned.
All in all things look better.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Aug 2016 20:23:35
Holgate looks a promising player, confident and tactically aware so far. With ageing and development he could be a solid defender.
I like the formation of 3 cbs and 2 wing backs, i feel it could be a succesful set up. I now see that our defensive targets aren't necessarily Stones replacement if this is how Koeman intends to play.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Aug 2016 19:29:10
Just seen lineup for tonight, mirallas on the bench and Holgate playing but looks like in midfield or a back 5. Would of liked mirallas and deleufo on at the same time. I'm trusting koeman but our team looks so weak compared to man utd's.

03 Aug 2016 18:38:30
For me if we are looking at player exchanges we're looking at it the wrong way around. I'd take the money from Chelski along with Zouma or Cahill for Rom, then take the money and Bony from City for Stones, then we have ready made replacements for the players we're losing that have premiership experience. Then use the rest of the money to strengthen the squad.
I'd still like to see Begovic from Chelski and Mata from Man U, would mind Dann from Palace, dread to say it for the stick I'll take but id have Benteke from them lot, maybe Henandez, the ex Man U striker.
One player I'd love us to get is the young lad from Man U, think it's Fosu-Mensah, whenever I saw him at the back end of last season he looked the real deal.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2016 19:39:19
Wasn't he fosu-mensah the the one del boy ripped apart when he came on in the semi final and was replaced right away when he moved blind to left back and del boy roasted him aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2016 20:56:22
On his day Delboy will rip anyone apart mate. I still think he is a great young defender and could be brilliant for us!
Just watching the game, Stones has done very well, Lukaku looks like he can't be arsed! One thing for sure, if he stays then the gaffer needs to have a strong word!

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2016 12:00:11
How much will we need to pay teams so we can get rid of Niasse?

Now that other clubs know we have a lot of spondoolies I think they will hold out, I have heard on the old grapevine that we offered Niasse to Skelmersdale Utd along with £10 million, Skelmersdale are apparently playing hardball with us and say they would want in excess of £14.5 million plus Everton to pay his wages.

Personally I feel these are fair demands from Skelmersdale as the extra money would compensate for the inevitable loss of supporters gate revenue. With an average attendance of 222 Skelmersdale need to be careful as any large dip in attendance could prove to be catastrophic, and a player like Niasse playing for the club the consequences would be felt for decades.

Should Everton raise the amount Offered to Skelmersdale or should they try to off load at the original price to Ossett Albion?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

03 Aug 2016 13:37:10
I would insure him for 100 million and then bring Peter Reid out of retirement to run a five a side session behind "closed doors". I am sure Reidy would accept an offer to try one of his old "tackles". Hibbert might do it for cheaper too! Not that I am dodgy or anything.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Aug 2016 09:02:22
Hi Ed just seen the latest on Rom they are now saying they are offering £72mill WOW any ideas who we are after if we get that sort of money, personally I will be sorry if he goes over 60 goals in the last 3 years seem pretty good to me, GuernseyBlue.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2016 11:35:48

TBH I'd take the £65m on its own for a player at one time I thought we would be lucky to recover our outlay. Anyone in any doubt watch the highlights of Rom's touches v Man U in semi final.

Not too bothered if we get him or Bony. But this is for sure they would both be better than what we have should Lukaku leave. Wouldn't be hard. All we really have is Kone. With Niasse and Rodriguez looking like they have no part to play we will be left very thin up front.

Not worried, in Koeman and Walsh I do trust.

Hi all, We have just bought the lad from Villa Gueye looks decent, if other reports are to be believed we are looking for an attacking mid if so, a couple from Barry, McCarthy, Besic, Gibson and Cleverly will have to be moved on. Really hope Kone and Oviedo move in this window. Happy McAidey, Niasse, McIeny and Rodriquez have not been given squad numbers a bit surprised Garbutt was in that group. Really hope for Koulibaly instead of Willams, Koulibaly and Ind Maartens would be a daunting duo. Keep the faith RK will get it right. COYB.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Aug 2016 01:41:44
Crazy talking here.

Sell Stones to MC for money and Bony.
Sell Rom to Chelsea for money and Remy.

With Super Kev, Deulofeu, some of the kids, and yes Kone (he did chip in 7 goals in all comps last year) , some form two forwards up top will develop.

I confess to expect a top half transition year, but one never knows, look at kids from King Power.

At least Remy and Bony will have some residual value next year.

And while I'm rambling, I don't think we're good enough to go toe to toe with the top 6or 8 teams. We will need to bring aboard players from abroad, shanghai players with improved deals from mid table teams, and pluck good players like Gueye from relegation and Championship teams.

Keep the faith in RK.

A little disappointed we didn't pursue Millik further as another option up front I like the look of him, also disappointed we didn't try harder to get Michy Batshuayi earlier before he went to Chelsea. If Rom does go to Chelsea would like to see us try and get Costa back from them would clearly be surplus to requirements and on his day he is one of the best forwards in the world. His final season at Atleti and first season at Chelsea show it. Would also like to see us in for Berahino could play on the left and score goals from midfield also very young although it doesn't look like we are in for him at the minute.
Happy that Ross has taken the No.8, en route to the captains armband! 🔵🔵🔵.

When you say we didn't do enough to sign milik or bat, can I ask how you know? Currently both napoli and Chelsea are more successful than us (again stressing currently) and both are regularly in champions league places. Not all players will buy into a project so I'm not hugely surprised that some players are over looking us. In terms of Costa and berahino, both players are disruptive and I personally don't want that at the minute. Plus with the new rules about reactions to officials, I'll be surprised if Costa is on the pitch much.

Oh and isn't ross no 20?
