The fact that Robles had to come in for the injured Stekelenburg at the weekend made me think about us not going for Joe Hart in the summer.
Regarding Hart, while I can understand players having football-related sponsorship deals (e. g. wearing a particular brand of boots) , I just don't get why they advertise certain products - especially ones not directly related to football.
Hart, for example, is on massive wages so why does he need to get even more dosh by advertising shampoo? It strikes me as someone - perhaps it was his agent/ representatives - who is more interested in his income than in his goalkeeping performances.
How much money does someone need to in order to be comfortably off and live well and to make sure his family's future is financially secure?
Or am I being too critical and most fans don't care what the players get paid compared to we ordinary folk do?

I understand what you're saying sid but an agents main responsibility is to get the very best deals for his player. Its the manager and club to concentrate on performance.
It's been going on for decades in sports advertising products not related to their particular sport. Brut with Henry Cooper or Jenson Button with Santander it goes on in every sport and we all want more money and security.

How long is a piece of string?
If you ask a homeless man how much does he need he will answer " enough to get me a bedsit to live in"
Ask someone in a bedsit what they would like and they would probably answer " Enough to get me a 1 bedroom flat"
The person in a one bed flat then wants to live in a 2 bed flat. The person in a 2 bed flat wants to live in a house. From the house they want to live in a better part of town. They then want a nice car, nice holidays and so it goes on, the more money someone has the more they want.
These days the ultra-rich sportsman all know of someone who has made some bad business mistakes and have been declared bankrupt a few years down the line. They are in a way trying to stop that from happening, they want to be able to handover a healthy business to their kids and perhaps mistakingly feel the more they have to pump into a business the greater it's likelihood of success.
Another angle on it could be that these sportsmen are so competitive that they can only measure their success with their bank accounts, they all strive to be the richest for no other reason than for the fun of it.
The only thing for sure is that a lot of them have forgot in a very short time the roots they have come from.

Simple answer is that agents would not be doing their jobs unless they were finding ways to increase their clients income and their own (agents) percentages. It is irrelevant what Harts or any other high profile player's income is. As to Robles coming in on Sunday, I thought the lad did well and don't really see what Hart would bring that is better than what we already have.
