Note liverpools goal was from a gerrard long free kick to suarezs head .not much open play these days .but i suppose if your legs are going you have to get your game by being good at free kicks in my opinion similar to stoke etc ...tp.

I know that people have been saying quite a lot on the site that we need someone to partner Gibson in the centre of the park. Why? We have Fellaini. Personally I would move him back along side Gibson and focus our efforts on bringing in a crafty, clever, creative midfielder. Someone similar to Santi Corzola would do me fine. Imagine how many opportunities we would create with Mirallas and Pienaar on the wings, and a nifty little midfielder behind Jelavic. Although having said that, I do think we should try and bring in a DM incase Gibson or Fellaini get injured.

After that 1st half performance by mirrallas I'd like to see him behind jelavic, let's get him on the ball further up the pitch, and by not playing him on the wing he wouldn't have to track back,he could just stay further forward and given a bit of freedom imagine the damage he could cause fulham running at hangeland, I think hed see a lot more of the ball playing centrally, and we should let him have it, for me,apart from arteta he's the most talented player we've had in years.

Seamus Coleman has really impressed me latley, i think hes had just as much effect on the right as baines has on the left we have two quick full backs and seamus looks like hes really back to his old self, really impressed. team for fulham lads, whats yours ?

Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines
Mirallas Felli Osman Pienaar
Naismith Jelavic

Think Fellaini needs to go back into the centre because neville loses the ball too often in midfield, such as QPR he got mugged off the ball and they scored, same as Liverpool he got mugged off by sahin and shelvey hes too defensive we have goals in the team and i really have my hopes set on the top 4 (5)

Believable5 Unbelievable5

I agree with your selection but I think he'll pick Neville in CM, Mirallas on the Right and Fellani off Jelavic

Fluffy01016

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman has no defensive positional sense - he stands anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman is great going forward, totally agree on that point, but he is out of position way too much at the back.
The difference between him and Baines is that Baines gets forward a lot and has a quality delivery and is involved lots in the attacking third, but even with that you hardly ever see him out of position at the back and he rarely gets caught out. Coleman does.
There is no way Moyes will drop Neville. No, chance

see this is the diffetence between reds and blues.. have a look at our site now and all reds have moved on even when you consider we were robbed, yet coming over hear and the animosity continues.. get over it you were beaten and you know it and for the ed to say you blew it against a lesser team, ha need i remind you that we were 2-0 to the good. correction, we blew it against the lesser team simple as that. you long ball merchants!

ian the red

Believable4 Unbelievable7

I see Gerrard has come out today and made a half-hearted apology. Fair play to the guy, credit where it's due. To the reds above if you look closely your guys have been invading our site crying blue murder (pardon the pun) and we, Evertonians, have merely responding in kind out of good grace. As for the stats I'm not going into them again, if you can't read then that's your problem, not mine

Agree0 Disagree0

Ian the ted - just been over to your deluded site and there are still loads of you clowns talking your usual rubbish, we talk on here because your captain said rubbish that has been proven 100% wrong yet clowns like you still call us long ball merchants, why dont you go away and dream about who your signing in january and moan when you dont spend over 100 million so bye bye and were looking down on you lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you think it is a bit ironic, how you claim liverpool have moved on from the game, and yet, you are ON OUR SITE, complaining?

Clearly you haven't, because there are still Liverpool fans (yourself for example) coming onto our site complaining.

Agree0 Disagree0

When you say that you lot have ''all moved on''... I'm assuming what you mean is that they have moved onto other clubs' sites like some sort of annoying virus to pester us and other fans with ur nonsense!!

Perhaps you all feel that if you go around insulting other fans and making a lot of noise that people won't forget about you now that you are a mid-table team!!

Agree0 Disagree0

A liverpool fan agreeing with gary neville ha enough said tp ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah like Gary Neville is a god, right - and anything he says is true - Liverpol were lucky to get anything out of that game - and even luckier that that nobby ref last week robbed us of Pienaar - and Mirallas got nobbled by Suarez - leaving us without both our first choice wingers for the whole second half when we had you on the rack - you're a mid table team now and we're real contenders - even on less money
haha get used to it
Liverpoll fans by their nature chose (way back) to follow a winning team - and now they can't have their dose of reflected glory they cant handle it - so they used to resort to just knocking Everton to make themselves feel better - now they cant even do that! haha

Since when have the reds took any notice of Gary Neville?

I know you are deleting all derby stuff Ed, but I had to mention this. Gerard really has made himself look like a tool now. I just looked on the EFC website and they've made an article about the stats, etc. it then goes on to say about the long ball statistics.

Here's the post:

Sunday's thrilling Merseyside derby proved to be one of the most eventful in recent seasons.

Everton's vibrant fightback from 2-0 down inside 19 minutes to secure a share of the spoils has earned the Blues rich praise from footballing neutrals.

And, by delving into the statistics for the game “ provided by the world-renowned Prozone performance analysis system -   it is clear a share of the spoils is no less than David Moyes' men merited.

Tellingly, Everton played 478 passes to Liverpool's 357 while enjoying a 53 per cent share of the possession over the 90 minutes.

359 of those Everton passes found their intended target - some 102 more than those made by players in red - with Moyes' men also putting together 16 sequences of six or more successive passes, two more than our visitors.

In the centre of the park, captain Phil Neville (53) and goalscorer Leon Osman (49) both significantly outpassed Steven Gerrard (36) and his midfield cohort Joe Allen (34), leading to the Blues having more of the ball in the final third than Brendan Rodgers' side.

With Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman ably supporting the likes of Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith, Everton produced twice as many crosses during the match and made 100 successful passes in and around the box, 37 more than Liverpool.

Ultimately this led to Everton creating more chances - a factor also aided by 32 per cent of those aforementioned crosses being accurate. Liverpool, conversely, had a crossing success rate of just 11 per cent.

The above stats point to Everton being the more expansive of the two sides, with the analysis relating exclusively to long balls in the contest backing up that overview.

Both teams on the day played just 25 per cent of their passes over 25 metres but only 14 per cent of Everton's total passes covered that distance, compared to 16 per cent of Liverpool's.

Across the back, Everton's defenders made 25 more passes in the crucial opening 45 minutes than their Liverpool equivalents also hints at a greater intent to build from the back, while Tim Howard was less inclined to look for his forwards than opposite number Brad Jones.

Including goal-kicks, free-kicks and punts from the hand, 53 per cent of Howard's distributions could be deemed 'long'; for Jones that figure stands at 74 per cent.

Ultimately, the key stat was that the 219th derby ended in the 66th draw between the two clubs and a point which continued Everton's impressive opening to the 2012/13 campaign.

alrite ed.after taking all of sunday in,from watching, reading and listenening i think maybe iv come to a clonclusion.going back to last season and i suppose maybe 25 to 30 seasons before in derbies when 2 behind after such a short time period the blues would have completely folded, mentally and physically beaten, lights out, game over, reds win 2,3,4 maybe even 5 nil,it has happened.but not yesterday, why?because lads we have some team here at last.never for a second were they beaten, the mental strenght to do what the did was massive, the football in the last 25mins in the 1st half was just class, southampton 1st half too, should be lasting longer but we'r getting there.everyone involved in footie at the moment apart from a couple of those up the road have not got a bad word to say about everton.we are going places and by god the likes of steven gerrard and others at that club do know it.let them say what they want, talk is cheap.smile.i aint gona harp on about his comments because it isnt worth it,he is a waste of my time, just looking at him.anyway lads and lassies that corner it looks has been finally turned, everton have an excellent manager,a super team, decent squad and a superb family of fans.as they say the best things come to those who wait, and by god have we waited.something coming and its gona be good.UP THE TOFFEES {Ed025's Note - what a cracking post!!...and never a truer word said...sign off with a name next time mate, as im sure the guys would like to congratulate you personally..

Good post mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Top post- I just feel lifted when reading stuff like this- we've had years, and years of ordinary, having to make do. I think we are on the verge of something good- when we recieve brickbats from the likes of Gerrerd and the R/S then you and I know the we are on the right track- onwards and upwards

Agree0 Disagree0

As a lfc fan am I the only one who thought it was a cracking game, had goals, aggression and emotion in it, yes there were talking points but hey it was the derby, the day there ain't talking points in games between these two great clubs is the day the derby has died, I've seen so and so should of been sent off from this challenge and that but everyone knows the passion that's in these games so let's not lose sight of that and question every foul, yes I agree suarez should maybe of been sent off but I honestly feel he didn't mean to do it just by his reaction, I'm glad in a way the result ended in a draw cos leading up to it and everything else after it has got a bit childish from both fans so let's draw a line under it and focus ahead, there's still plenty more games left this season so let the banter continue but let's just keep it at banter after all we set the trend in derbies cos of the respect we show each other, lets not lose sight of that, good luck for the season you toffees ynwa {Ed025's Note - really good post that mate...with a lot of sense talked, it is time to move on, guys like you are very welcome on this page..

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed025, I enjoy coming on here cos I like to keep up with all the teams and see what supporters views are on there clubs plus I also enjoy your witty banter mate

Other big teams in the Premiership wanted Mirralas if I remember rightly!

Never say Never!

Blue Bones

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if he's an Evertonian he'd never sign for the reds, as has been mooted, as it would make it pretty difficult to come play for us one day. I believe we'll see him in a blue shirt one day, the question is when ?

Agree0 Disagree0

He wants to join a Prem League team, that is without question, but I cant see the big 3 (Chelsea, United and City) wanting his signature and the fact he has purposefully said, numerous times, that he loves Everton and likes Arsenal, surely makes Arsenal and Everton the most likely destinations, of course, whoever can finish 4th might have the slight edge, but to be honest, as of right now, we have to be favourites as there is a spot open for him in the starting XI unlike Arsenal who have a impressive trio of Arteta, Cazorla and Wilshere. And besides, trust me when I say this, he is a MASSIVE blue, even took Artetas shirt after the CL game because of his Everton roots.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like Mirallas, the opportunity of first team football may be to tempting to turn down for Holtby.. Can't see him walking into the Arsenal team, despite the fact he has the talent to do so. Arsenal think they are better than they actually are so they will potentially push aside players with real talent.

Chamackh is a prime example, I know it's only one game but he looked potent against reading and the lack of first team football has completely halted his progress, for me he has bags of potential.
