I've stopped moaning about R m now as can't be arsed any more what with 8 Games to go. Also have come to the conclusion we will have him for at least another season but just wanted to ask should we have a young up and coming English manager which I know are few and far between or an old sweat from abroad if he's sacked that is?

I'm sick of having young upcoming managers. They are in the learning phase of their careers.

I want a quality manager who's done it before and can take this team forward NOW!

A change of direction is needed in all of our mindsets. That includes board, manager, players and us fans. Everton football club is not a school or training course for these managers. We want finished articles from now on.

Same here SB, for me mate I want a fancy manager from abroad who can attract decent players, I know Eddie Howe is doing a fine job and before Mr Moshiri came along I would have loved him as our next manager, now though I think we should be looking for the next Pochettino.

There is no such thing as the finished article and most managers from abroad are no better than British managers, it is that our managers do not get a chance at top monied clubs.
A Mr Fergerson did better than all of them, To my mind there is almost a racial predudice against our own managers.
Having said this I quite fancy Koeman but he does work in the prem now and has proved himself.

We already have a foreign manager, I believe Spain is abroad.

01 Apr 2016 20:53:19
I'm not talking about foreign managers. I don't want upcoming managers I want someone who has done it before. Someone with stature in the game. Tried and tested.

Why Eddie Howe? What has he done? Kept Bournemouth up? That makes him good enough for us.

What did Moyes do? Martinez? Give me Hiddink, Pellegrini, Mancini, Someone. You all want big name players but any raw recruit will do to manage them.

Wake up blues and remember the moto.

Funes Mori. I've been very pleased with him since he signed. He was pitched straight in, has replaced Jags and Stones and been virtually ever present. He's also given me some returns on anytime goal scorer bets. On top of this he's been back and forth a few times playing internationals in South America.
Was thinking he looked a bit jaded recently and perhaps needs a bit of a rest. I notice he played one game for Argentina last weekend but don't think he even made the bench for the second game. Anyone know if he was injured?

Ed I spent almost 30mins posting a reply to Degspulford and when I pressed reply I automatically refreshed my page and for one second I seen something other than reply sent. I assume you's didn't get my post? Absolutely hate when something like that happens. 30mins spent replying gone. Up and left like a fart in the wind!

{Ed002's Note - The last post from you was at 1600 today. Perhaps type posts in something else and cut and paste them if it is a regular problem - but irritating I know.}

A, just the reply I was looking for 😞 not a regular problem.

Hey NBTB thanks for responding to my post about RM signing midfielders who do not score goals. I think you missed my point if I may say. Firstly, you say we have players scoring goals in midfield and in your list you include Osman, Mirrallas, Barkley and Naismith as contributing goals from midfield. These are players who were with the club way before RM joined. I listed the 4 that RM signed as non scoring midfielders because Besic aside, they had all played for many many seasons and never scored goals. Check through Barry's, McCarthy's and Cleverly's careers goals tally. None have averaged more than 3 a season. that's a pretty poor tally and nothing to do with RM's tactics. The beginning of my post started by saying signing Carrick would be another typical RM signing. ie he has scored 27 in about 500 games. Another less than 3 a season player. Plus he is past his best so a lower tally could in theory be expected. So back to your post. You say that Naismith, Barkley, Lennon, Osman, Del Boy, Mirrallas have chipped in. which is true. but he does not pick Mirrallas, Osman is now struggling, Naismith is sold. so we are relying on Besic, Barry, McCarthy and Cleverly to be the spine of the team in the main. and if he signs. Carrick too. That is my point. a total of probably 8 goals from the spine of the team. It scares the living daylights out of me that Lukaku may go. or Barkley get injured because with this squad being loaded with more and more players who don't score, the reliance on these 2 players is too much. Your point about Lennon. I accept. He has surprised me with his contribution, because he has also never been a big goalscorer. The point you make about goals conceded being the main problem. I accept that fully. that has to be down to tactics and set up, because we have the same defensive players aas under Moyes (Mori aside) . and more defensive minded midfielders. I hope you understand this post is not a dig at you. I just think you missed my point.

Sorry Degsypulford had a reply written. Definitely not doing it tonight as a long day and I'll soon be tucked up in me bed 😐

I know it was no dig and the short reply was I did mostly miss your point.

No worries NBTB. I know I sometimes wind people up. but that is usually when they have been critical of my posts in an insulting way lol. I do agree about his tactics. and Mori has been a superb signing. but his midfielders are all full of good work rate. tackling, square passing and support play. but Barkley and Lennon aside, none are players that will try a penatrating pass or run at defenders. Or turn and play a short ball splitting the defence. not in the Pienaar or Osman mould. Del Boy whips in great crosses and wonderul defense splitting passes sometimes but is hopeless defensively. I find it a geat shame because Lukaku is the best center forward we have had for donkeys years. if he goes we are in big trouble. chances of finding another 25 goal a season one tomake up for the leaky defense and lack of scoring midfielders leaves us exactly where Wigan where in his last season. Playing lovely to watch football at times. terrible football at others. and very unlucky and in a false position. heard that before somewhere?

Couldn't agree more Degsy. I fear for Everton next season if Martinez is still there and Lukaku has gone. Where are the goals coming from?
If there is another 30 goals a season striker out there other clubs as well as Everton will be in the queue and without European football, Everton won't be at the front of the queue. Really cause for concern.

I agree Degsypulford apart from Del boy. I know he is good at tracking back but going forward is pure class. His goals and assists also are pretty impressive this season for the amount of games he has played. Also he's about the only player all year who would put decent regular balls into the box which Lukaku benefitted from.

I'm total agreement with you on Martinez overall. Was not happy when he was appointed but was willing to give him a fair chance as any manager deserves that from supporters.

Sooner he's gone the better. It's sad, he assembled a great squad. He just can't get the best out of them. Some other manager will. I'm convinced of that.

This Mino agent for Lukaku is one idiot.
'Juventus would be a good solution or PSG. '
Strange when the guy (whose obviously paying this clown) has just paid to bring his family out of Brussels to escape terrorism so Paris is obviously a good choice.
One solution Mr. Minor is Rom tells you to go and do one.

To be fair to Rom he shouldn't be playing for us next season. His agent in my eyes is doing the best for his client. Why play for a team in 12th when you could be playing for a team challenging for titles.

We need RM gone and a manager brought in who can offer a better plan to these players. It might give us another year with them. If we don't they are gone at the end of the season I'm afraid.

I think we are all using diversional therapy by discussing very unlikely transfers to keep our mind from far more serious issues mainly the plight our club is being put in by BROWN SHOES.
No doubt after the Utd game we will all wake up again to what's really important and putting intense pressure on our board to act .
no plans at all as I said before in renewing my ticket as things stand.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

31 Mar 2016 09:44:34
It's not diversionary tactics Treb, its just boring repeatedly posting the same garbage about wanting Martinez out day in day out, I want him, out but have stopped spouting on and on about it as its depressing to me and everyone else, nothing will happen until the Summer so most posters are not bothering reading, or posting on something that's been done a thousand times.

Agree3 Disagree1

31 Mar 2016 11:42:52
I don't think it's unlikely transfers either treb. If lukaka goes his fee should cover both slamini and yarmolenko for example. the wages might be more of a problem mind. And that's 2 transfers the club wouldn't have to dip into their pockets for.

I agree Murf1000. A lot of people fed up talking about it. I'll see you that there will be nothing done until the summer and I'll raise you he will still be our manager at the start of next season!

I've looked into my crystal ball and I predict he'll go at Christmas or start of new year. I may be wrong. I hope to god he's gone sooner rather than later.

BK seems to be right behind him though. That's why I think he'll be manager next season. Bar an absolute disastrous end to the season.

As for Yarmalenko! That is the last time I'll write his name. Mainly because he won't be an Everton player. I wouldn't want it to happen anyway.

31 Mar 2016 20:24:07
The point I am making is we cannot control which players we buy but we CAN have a say in RM future or lack of it but nobody is prepared to do anything so good luck to him .
will be my first season for 50 years I won't be attending and given we have a new billionaire owner it says it all about the ambition of our club .

01 Apr 2016 03:42:32
Jimmyc maybe we should keep playing kone on the left to keep you happy. Lenko is a massive improvement on any left sided player we already have. wether he comes or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Apr 2016 08:47:23
Better playing me on the left and I'm over 50 got two dodgey knees and a cockys hut like a poisoned pup and smoke like fiddlers ferry power station than Kone Anomeblue. All I'm saying is this Yarmalenko business is becoming like all the Riquelme talk.Him,his club whoever seem to be leading any suitors down the garden path all the time when interest is shown.Good player he may well be but if we or any other club are going to keep being p***ed about by his club or him its time to let it go forget him and move on.

02 Apr 2016 22:56:25
That reply made me spit my tea out haha. I only used his name as an example my bad. the point I was trying to make is the names people are hoping we sign are not that unlikely. For the first time in a long time we can compete financially with other teams, so hopefully no more missed players like payet for example because we can't offer the terms other teams could. And this summer I'm expecting rather than hopeing that we sign the players we need to improve our 1st team now and not to overly depend on ones for the future.

30 Mar 2016 23:34:02
Well, you heard it here first folks - I have a mate who is a close friend of Joe Harts dad and he's been told on good authority that Joe Hart has agreed a move in the summer becoming Moshiris first acquisition of 2 or 3 big money transfer signings and will be Evertons new keeper next season. Ed, can you verify this info or have you anything about this info? I was quite taken back when I was told but I think it would be a good coup for us to have the England goalkeeper between the sticks for us next season?

{Ed002's Note - I would not want to say they are teasing you bu I rather suspect you will struggle to get this supported going forward.}

I think someone already said this the other week as a bit of a joke. That if we signed Jordan Lukaku, Rom might stay

Now after Jordan assisted a goal for Rom last night he said it's his ultimate dream to play with him at the same club.

He actually looks pretty decent he's only 21 and if it meant rom stays next season surely it's worth having a look if the price is right 1-5 mill

Plus Baines isn't getting any younger Oviedo has never really got back to his best after his injuries, Galloway is a cb and garbutt isn't guaranteed to make the grade

It sounds silly but if we signed him could you see Rom giving up his "ultimate dream" by leaving in the summer.
