First of all...thrilled Pienaar is back.

Second.. Dont understand why people are suggesting Heitinga move especially for as little as £6m. He was one of our best players last season and we shouldn't sell him just to get some money in the bank for another forward.

In my opinion we should take any offer we get for Barkley and Rodwell whilst theres still interest. Lets not forget the likes of Jeffers, and Cadermateri. There is no guarantee these boys are gona come good. There was Rooney but i think he was a 1 off. What do you guys think?

PTF

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Rodwell yes, barkley no! this guy has major talent. He will be unbelievable trust me

Agree0 Disagree0

We haven't seen much of Barkley, but if you acctually watch Rodders play, his style and confidence from the midfeild position is astounding, granted he hasnt been at his best, but with a good run of fitness he can be great.

QatariBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are Wrong, Wrongs i tell ya. Sell Heitinga, too much to say bring in Olson from west brom, cheaper and lower salary but as good as they come. Kepp Rodwell and Barkley. I watch them frequently in reserve games They are outstanding talents. Man Utd and Chelsea do not spend or offer the sort of money that was talked about in press unless the player is special. Im Bun McGale, thanks for listening.
PS-If buy anyone then make it Donovan and a right back with a bit of attacking prowess. Back up striker for Jelavic, someone with pace. Defoe or even Owen. Somebody to make room for Jelavic and space for Feillani in Midfield to get into the box. 3 players short of a truly class team. {Ed025's Note - even though you sound a gangsta rapper...i like your post..

Agree0 Disagree0

No way!! Selling rodwell and Barkley would be the death of us. Yes Rooney was amazing but there are also the like of Osman and hibbert who have helped us win many matches and without them we wouldn't be finishing in the top 8. As we dont have much money we have to rely on our youth.
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with 1st point, 2nd point is just stupid barkley looks to be a really good player and rodwell had forced his way into england team before injury, so why would we sell now and see players we had just get better and better and now we sold them for buttons sorry ptf not good point that mate.

Nessy

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever we do, we must not sell Barkley. He might turn out to be a let down, but there's a high chance he will be England's, if not Europe's next big thing. In 3 years he could be worth £40m. Or at least, if he doesn't live up to his expectations, £5m.

now that pienaar is signed, do you think we will sign anyone else ed? i would like to see a right midfielder and another striker, possibly loan as back up to jelavic. hope we get another right mid but moyes will maybe give coleman one last chance, or put osman or vic out there. {Ed025's Note - i expect one more mate...nearer the deadline, a forward..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Ed, we have spent £4.5 million on peanut do you think we have more money for players or will we just get loans in {Ed025's Note - probably a loan, or a freebie i think mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect a RW and a back up goal keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect 1 more which is a RW and I would like young from Bolton, Adam johnson, matty phillips or Tom ince and I believe we will sell mucha and just put mateusz taudul the young polish keeper on the bench

Littlemicky

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed - it's got to be a right winger hasn't it? {Ed025's Note - naismith can play there mate...but any attacker will do...except owen...lol

Two permanent signings! Wait! Ill start again! Two quality permanent signings in the first 3/4 weeks of the window being open is bloody fantastic for us! I expect another one or two to come by the end August aswell!
Little bit gutted that cahill went but he had his best years with us and would of been a bit part player next season and I for one wouldn't like to see cahill sat on the bench every game so it's good all round I think! Good luck timmy! Hopefully Yobo will be off soon and maybe big vic but I can't see anyone else leaving! I think all the players know that we are on the verge of winning silverware and European football! Coyb!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Have to agree with all of that!
Wouldn't like to see Cahill gradually get worse for us an play less, so have to agree there an Yobo an Vic leaving would be a great summer for us. Especially if we bring one or two more in either on loan or permanent

Dave Tuebrook {Ed024's Note - Would like to see Cahill back on loan even if just to say goodbye

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2012 19:56:17
Just a suggestion! Why not sell
Heitinga, and keep Yobo! Would get
8-10 million. We could possible buy
Johnson or Donovan then!
JAG {Ed025's Note - keep off them moroccan woodbines mate...they are addling your brain..

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Think he bin smokin somethin stronger than morrocan. crack or smack. or bin on the meow meow. i wudnt have yobo bk if he offered to play for free.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one appreciate Yobo's time at everton. Been a great player for us over a good spell too. I genuinely don't see Heitinga as much

Agree0 Disagree0

Oops, pressed send by accident..

Heitinga had a great season but don't see him as a far superior player. If he was as good as everyone says, he'd be snapped up at the figures quoted (5mil ish)

Jags Distin - my preferred partnership

Agree0 Disagree0

What exactly did yobo say about the club? {Ed025's Note - its on the internet mate...have a look, and make your own mind up..

so pienaar in naismith in still a month of the window to go can you feel the excitement building yet? i can not see anyone leaving and a couple more coming in free/loan i would love to see adam johnson on a year long loan with a view to buy i know everyone says we cant afford his wages but i think citeh would go halves on that and then with the money for qualifying for the champions league, which i believe would be a real possibility with this side, we could afford the transfer fee, thats just my thoughts i am sure DM has his own ideas and i will bow to his superior knowledge and cheer on anyone he brings in (yes even owen if i have to!) really looking forward to the new season which is more than you can say for the mancs, i hope that the news about them makes the doubters look again at BK's tenure and if we do qualify for champions league they will hold their hands up and say sorry maybe we got it wrong! just one more point i think the eds do a great job and people should stop the moaning people do have lives you know!.....grbefc {Ed025's Note - cracking post grb..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

If Everton ever do make the champions league which is highly doubtful it will be inspite of Kenwright not because of him. Everton will never do anything until he has gone. {Ed025's Note - be careful what you wish for mate..

will there be any ex everton players in Hibbo's testimonial game, if so ed who?

toffee haz {Ed025's Note - cant say i know haz...im not a great believer in testimonials mate...i think they earn enough each week..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hibbo's givin his money to charity so it's all for a good cause Ed025

Murf {Ed025's Note - thats good murf...but people should make their own decisions on giving to charity, and which charity to donate to...just my opinion mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Ed that the money these days gets donated to charity, the testimonial therefore only being a thank you to the player. Jon

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the top players get paid enough, Ed025, but what about those lower league players getting a testimonial for their loyalty? Thinking about the recent Morecombe pre-season match - do you begrudge the beneficiary?
Cowpat Sid {Ed025's Note - no i dont sid...but there are levels mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Martyn, Neville, weir,Stubbs,lescott,carsley,gravesen,tie,osman,HIBBO, Rooney

I think that Pardew is more likely to be sacked before Hughes, as the barcodes have much greater (unrealistic) expectations and seem to have less money to spend these days on recruiting better players.

You're right ed it isnt, but spelling copenhagen 'copagnigion' is just ridiculous. try pronouncing that, it would be 'co-pag-nig-eeon' does that sound anything like copenhagen to you? fair enough if he spelt it as say copanhgen or something {Ed024's Note - Lol, love it, just tried to pronounce it and you are right lmfao

Hi all, now that we have signed Pienaar to go along with Naismith, I think we may get 1/2 more either on loan or free. Was wondering would Ed and my fellow Evertonians be happy to take Michael Owen on a pay as you play deal. Not sure we will get a right winger in may go with what we got till Jan then hope to bring Donavan on loan. Adam Johnson would be great but maybe just out of our reach. Any ways think it will be a good season for us top 6. COYB.

Dero ( Irish Blue ).

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I wouldnt be overly excited but would take him mate, his experience would be good and the younger lads could learn a bit from him, I think he would also chip in with a few goals.

BREAKING NEWS

Everton rumours site shut down due to the Eds internet being cut off. Ed025 said in his statement that due to complaints by ungrateful posters on the site he was forced to quit his job so he could update the site more regularly. Due to the strain of unemployment which caused him financially hardship Ed has been slumming it in Skem with his good mate Degsy.
The site may be up and running again if somebody else would take time out of their life to run the site for free.

On a serious note... Everyone stop whinging it's ridiculous these blokes do the best they can to do this for us and get nothing in return but obviously there jobs take priority so stop carrying on and being ungrateful your like a bunch of old women!! I think the eds have been very polite because if I was doing this and copping all these complaints I'd tell you all to piss off!!

SydneyBlue {Ed051's Note - Thanks mate

The post which talks about the decline of Man Utd shouldn't be dismissed out of hand and their story should act as a warning for fans wanting investment from abroad.
The glazers took Man U from a debtless club and loaded them with the cost of the takeover (approx £700 million). Through share issues this has been reduced to about £400 million but the total cost of servicing these loans has been around £500 million so far. The amount of debt has increased by £26 million this year alone and there is now the prospect of Man U being floated on the New York stock exchange to raise more money (only half of which will be used to reduce the debt).

Having looked at these figures I am so happy we have our chairman. We may have to balance the books to get a meagre transfer budget but at least we don't have the pressure of having to raise funds constantly to keep our head above water.

How long will it be before their transfer kitty is reduced to cover the debt and what happens when they have a particularly bad couple of seasons and the merchandise sales decline?

Popeye

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Just been listening to talk sport (i know) and they have been on about this floatation on the new york stock market and half the money raised will go to reduce their massive debt the other half goes into the glaziers pocket the united fans that phoned in are really starting to panic struggling to attract big name players they are not looking forward to the future at all, makes me even more proud to be a blue lets pile the pressure on first game and hopefully the press will stop going on about our debt all the time......grbefc

What's out genuine expectations for the season gents?

I'd be content with top 7/8, delighted top 6..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Think on a par with spurs back four not the best midrib on way no strikers could be great season if we can sort right side out ste45

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be contempt with top 6 and delighted with top 4/5.

For the squad we have top 7/8 simply is not good enough.

Toffee Jack

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon 8th. Can't see us finishing higher really. {Ed025's Note - why not?.. are you sure your a blue?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe I am just being over optimistic but a European place is within grasp, as a general rule I don't bet (other than a lucky dip on the lotto) But I am tempted to stick one on a top 4 finish, just got a feeling.

WtG. {Ed025's Note - nothing wrong with that wtg...why not back your own team?...and i think you have a great chance of winning mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Our squad isn't that great mate. Sure we have quality, but we're so thin on the ground in certain areas. Sorry fellas but top 4 isn't within reach for me. Chelsea and Arsenal have bought well. City and united will be there all day. Ourselves, Liverpool, newcastle and Spurs will battle for 5/6th

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason I said 8th Ed is I expect the top 7 to be
City, Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle.
Whats wrong with that ? {Ed025's Note - i think at least, we are as good as the last three..

Agree0 Disagree0

Our squad was thin last year. This year compared to other premier league teams it will also look the same way.. But keep an eye out I truly believe there will be an emergence of our young talent this year, as well as obvious players simply needing to step up to their potential (rodwell, coleman and anichebe even tho he's a useless bag of sh*te). Along with the quality additions so far and the possibility of 2 or 3 more (more likely 2) I think the squad depth problems will sort themselves out this year and we will emerge as a solid force to be reckoned with, that's why we will be a team in contention for top 6 at a minimum. I can't stress the fact at how much having jelavic with us will benefit our season too, our usual bad starts are triggered by the lack of firepower we had in front of goal (relying too much on our timmy who is not an out and out CF) and wasting the so so many chances we created, sure timmy did a job but we've seen the impact jelavic can make on games even when we are playing terrible (2-2 away draw vs norwich which was the only real bad game after new year). We need to be optimistic come august 20th and not expect the usual slow start, I for one will not be happy with anything below the top 6 because our SQUAD, is more than capable of maintaining that position all season long.

We have the firepower we've been craving for now so let's get behind the lads and show them we believe that they can make it happen! COYB let's hope in a year's time we will be talking about our Europa league fixtures!!

Toffee Jack {Ed025's Note - love it jack..

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2012 16:10:56
no need to worry about man u buying our best players they cant afford it anymore as the glazers are sucking more money out of the club and leaving them in deep debt united still rely on giggs and scholes with a combined age of almost 80 if we can start the season the way we finnished we could be passing united on the up as there going down coyb tghfest

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Lol what a short sited view. UTD yes are in many millions of debt. Bus as they are the biggest most widely supported football club in the whole world they have a massive income and can afford to pay their players silly wages and still afford to have a transfer budget that makes us seem like a child asking their mum to buy them a 1p chew.

Cornel Sanders

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I admire your optimsm, I believe Man U will sign one or two world class players yet and one of them might just be Baines. They also have one or two good youngsters themselves. Still, like you I do believe we are on the way up! Nice post.

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened to the 80mill from ronaldo most of it 60mill went on interest they can no longer compete with city, chelsea,r madrid, barca ect offering 12mill for baines and 10mill for van percy is just a rearguard action by rudolf and while the vampire glazers are sucking the blood out of united they are in decline thgfest

Agree0 Disagree0

Man Utd are another Rangers waiting to happen. Their levels of gearing are unsustainable. Do you really think US companies care a jot about UK based sport, they care no more than they do about car factories.

Agree0 Disagree0

They already signed a world class player, Shinji Kagawa. Watch him set the premier league a light this season.

People keep saying how could we deal with Adam Johnson's wages? Lets not forget we got Drenthe on loan from real madrid who was on £90,000 a week. We payed about half of his wages... Also, Man city sent Adebayor to tottenham on loan and payed more than half of his £175,000 wages so i can see them paying about £40,000 of Johnson's like 70/80 thousand.

A lot of A Johnson rumours going around but it would cost us nearly 5 mill in wages alone to get him for the season which i personally cant see us spending on a player for 1 season.Look how long it took us to get pienaar and that is a permanent transfer if Bill somehow managed to pull this off i would be over the moon and keep our big players with peanuts and Johnson added to the squad i think we could mount a serious challange for 4th spot.So it brings me back to the question why the hell cant we put more pressure on our rich board to cough up some funds just wondering how they get away with it year in year out. Dream Team for Next Season:
Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitenga Baines

A. Johnson Gibson Fellaini Pienaar

Naismith

Jelavic

I think this would be an amazing team for next season. And with Osman, Barkley and Rodwell that midfield could be changed around nicely, but having AJ down the right flank would be a dream.
What does everyone think of that team? Top 6 is a certainty i think.

Bloody hell people whinge when we don't sign anyone and moan when we do, I can't wait for the new season which is more than I said this time last year.

Well said also RS want Dempsey for 10m when he's got less than a year remaining on his contract, where as Stevie had something like a 4yr contract! Good Deal is what i say, really looking forward to the new season
King Chong {Ed025's Note - me too mate..

Correct Ste. There's also no sign of him slowing down as a player either. If anything he's improving!

Question for the masses ed, but by my reckoning when Peanuts signs it'll be the 4th not 3rd time he's signed for us! 1st on loan from Germany, 2nd permanently from Germany, 3rd on loan from spurs, 4th permanently from spurs! Has anyone else ever signed 4 times or more for us?

The great Howard Kendal ,once player ,once player manager, twice more manager

Howard kendall - 1 as player and 3 as manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not by my reckoning although the first one was a loan with a view to a permanent deal so not sure if that count's as twice?

Big Dunc and Rhino are the only two in my living memory other than Peanuts we have sold and bought back had a few loaned back like Jeffers (spits on the floor and swears about greed) but their the only three players i think we have bought back in say twenty years, may be wrong, i usually am

Bobcat

Big Dunc was 3. Once on loan, as a player then as a player again. That is unless you count him signing as coach?

Agree0 Disagree0

Donovan twice already on loan and again in the new year and hopefully permanent next summer when he's available on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

What about colin harvey, player then coach then manager then coach again, then youth coach now he is a legend about 50yrs with efc. ste c

Getting fed up with the doom and gloom from too many blues, this time last year we were a shambles in the transfer market, since then we've signed a goal scoring machine in Jellyfish, an under rated midfielder who's already cemented is place in our side in Gibson and allows Big Felli some freedom, and now we've already signed two quality attacking mind players in the summer window!Naismith and Peanuts, and it's not even transfer deadline day! And don't forget Moyes always has a trick up his sleeve that nobody has even considered, he pulls a gem or two out of no where for nothing. And all this is without mentioning the amount of quality youth players coming through,!!

So stop moaning, cause compared to recient transfer windows weve absolutely nothing to moan about, get behind Moyes, cause he hasn't stirred us wrong yet!!

not really everton related but to take our mind off the infitrator of our degs, who do you think will win the league this season and who do you think will get top goalscorer

most assists who will be signing off the season? who do you think ed paddock toffee {Ed025's Note - city look good to me, for the league

Believable1 Unbelievable1

City for the league.
Cisse for top scorer
Everton for CL (4th)
Pienaar for most assists
Brenda for the sack

COYB

Toffee ace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea for me are the dark horses but city haven't done their buying yet so i will hedge my bets between them two

Most assists Nasri, top scorer Aguero, best buy Hazard.

Mike aintree

Agree0 Disagree0

I fancy City for the league
Rooney top scorer (Jelly not far behind)
Liverpool mid table (but hoping lower)
Kagawa signing of the summer
Think we'll finish 5/6th which i'd be very happy with considering our resources, things looking up for us!

Dave Tuebrook {Ed024's Note - Love it Davey, I have us for 5/6 as long as we get a decent RM

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely ed, the one missing piece at the moment. Think we'll get someone whether it's permanent or on loan.

Dave Tuebrook {Ed024's Note - I think Moyesee will pull something out of the bag mate, would love Jonno but money may be an issue, maybe we have 15 million available like when Felli came, we can dream
