Thank god that's all over deadline day is wrong after season starts full stop. Moshri has been here 6 months it's a new start he has brought in a top manager that cost big bucks to get him, something we would not of done prior to Moshri, he has brought in a top man in Steve Walsh and made him director of football who will sort out recruitment. Koeman has assessed the squad and got rid of dead wood Mcgeady, osman and hibbert although last 2 were fantastic players for us but let's face it not part of the squad now, while there is a few more that need to go.
We have brought in Williams, Bolasie, Guyee, Valencia sold stones for top dollar got another gem in Holgate yes we are so stronger than we were at end of last season add to that Koeman will get more out of the other players.
Stadium gathering pace and would not surprise me if we don't see planning permission submitted in next 3-6 months, oh and Merson just summed up the modern footballer brilliant "if a legend like Koeman rings you, you pick the phone up" just say you don't want to sign.
Can't wait to play Spurs again Idrissa guyee will take him to the cleaners only way we can show him what a fool he was and that's finish above them.

{Ed002's Note - Try rethinking this without "moshiri", "big money", "deadwood". Just think "business".}

31 Aug 2016 23:51:02
I don't think Everton fans are pissed that the Sissoko deal fell through that much. We got promised without sales significant funds, withoutal a figure. We sold Stones for £48m give or take. We signed Stek for £1m, Williams for 9m that's £10m. Let's bump up Gana's fee to £8m for arguments sake = £18M. Bolasie for 28max is £46m. The future propects £4m max = £50m at absolute max. Plus Valencia on loan, we are talking about spending £3m. Then take into account our players on loan and we near enough break even with record TV money and a new backer, amazing! Please Eds explain this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot explain your random numbers - I can explain that it is nothing to do with income - and I have explained all summer.}

01 Sep 2016 00:09:16
These are all reported fees. I'm not saying they are 100% accurate but please tell me besides Southampton who has spent as little as Everton? By that I mean money spent against sales. We were promised "signifant" funds without sales, that was promised. How has the board backed those claims? Everyone knows we have been ripped again! Rumours cost nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have not thought about it but I have dragged on the reins since day one.}

01 Sep 2016 00:10:17
Valencia will only be with us for a year unless he is spectacular. It is a business and we are low down in the pecking order at least for now. Players will even choose Leicester over us based on one year. We have to get into Europe or close this year otherwise we will see the same in next summers transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2016 00:28:42
Mike I know that so why didn't we go after Bony? He was the best of the rest strikers outv there in the Prem? Surely Wilshere with us is better than Bournemouth? If that move works out they will close the gap. Chambers? Boro have a decent player there! Where are our middle men to sort it out? Arteta on loan was a gamble . We are stuck between thinking that kid has potential, like we did with Lescott and Cahill and making a mega signing and doing nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2016 07:06:11
Wilshire, honestly? The same lad who has spent more time in the treatment room than Gibson, what a signing that would be! Some fans need to reign themselves in a bit. So what we never did much business on deadline day, it has still been a productive summer. We had our backsides spanked by Sissoko leaving very little time to do anything else. We can get to the next window and see where the land lies then. Why some are being so negative really is amazing, ungrateful and petty.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2016 07:20:43
I can only summise that the reason we didn't go for Bony is that we had a better signing in mind, which obviously didn't work out.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 23:49:31
When other teams know you have cash to spend, this is what happens, the prices go up and up, same thing has applied to all the players we were interested in.
I think we have enough until January, better for the squad and manager to gel more . Hoping Lukaku finds his mojo asap and as for Valencia he has some good pedigree and suffered a bad injury last year, his past record in Ecuador and his international record is very good, let's see how far we can progress without the so called, 'marquee' signings.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is a lot of money in England and that hits all of the sides. Doesn't mean you have to buy Valencia.}

31 Aug 2016 23:48:11
Like many fellow blues I spent a good five hours of my life glued to SSN just waiting for that one big signing. Sadly as we know it didn't really happen, and my first reaction was to put it mildly one of frustration.
But then I thought this time last year I we were buying the likes of Lennon, Cleverly etc for small amounts of money, and supporters were in the main happy with these signings.
Now we are trying to buy bigger better players, for an awful lot more money, and for one reason or another we have not been able to get them done. Not I hasten to add all the clubs fault. If a club refuse to sell their is nothing you can do, you can't blame the club when other clubs/ players change their minds or try to hold you to ransom.
We have in my opinion already strengthened the team. We have a manager who is more than capable of developing the squad we now have. We have a new owner who wants to give us a new home, and bring us back to being a major power. We have a youth system that is the envy of others, just look at the U23 side.
So am I disappointed with this window? Yes a little. But when all said and done I have never ever been more optimistic about the future of this great club than I am now. COYB!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:47:26
Stop moaning, we've made some good signings, we've been unlucky today, these things happen. We've got a good manager, new majority shareholder and DOF, possibly on the verge of a new stadium. The negativity is beyond a joke get a grip and get behind the team, new players, chairman and staff!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:40:42
We are a stronger team now because we have a very good manager who instils discipline and is tactically astute. But it's a squad that needed a marquee signing in this window and the club did not deliver. 8th place for me unless we get Yarmelenko in Jan.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:46:19
Thankfully I don't need to hear the phrase 'sky sources say' for a few months. Sissoko best of luck at Spurs and one season of champions league. Enner Valencia welcome. All in all a slightly frustrating window, but that mainly down to my naivety in believing everything I read. Stek, Gana and Willams look very good additions. Bolasie I with hold judgement, but definitely has the ability, just need the consistency to shine through. Holgate is like a new signing. Not all doom and gloom. Have a great manager, decent start in the league and cup. Get this pointless international break out the way (had Barkley been in the squad i'd have felt differently) . COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 aug 2016 23:37:47
unlucky this time everton but thank you mr farhead moshri for exciting few months please keep going you have got everton breathing again nice new stadium next please.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:36:51
I pray we don't get injuries or we are in big trouble.
Only 1 right back.
Misfiring striker (kone is not a striker) .
No left winger (Bolasie is playing right wing) .
Barkley only midfield flair to unlock defenses.
Man Utd, city, Chelsea, arsenal, Liverpool, spurs, West ham, leicester and possibly now stoke are all stronger than everton that's ten clubs. Scary!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

01 Sep 2016 00:07:49
Can you explain why those clubs you mention other than Chelsea and Arsenal why they are stronger how many West Ham players or Leicester would you actually take that will improve 1st team other than payet, marhaz, vardy, I personally think we should be competing with those clubs as it stands.
Is Kane better than Lukaku
Is Alli better than Barkley
Andy Carroll

Sorry but your wrong even Liverpool don't strike fear yes they have some standout players but all clubs do this squad we have is now strong and Koeman will instill that throughout the team he's been a winner all his life Koeman effect could be 10-15pts difference this season first 3 games has proved that 7 from 9pts that would of been 2 or 3 pts max under Martinez, yes we will lose games this season but Goodson will be tough place and can't see many defeats there this season, I think top 7 this year, and even a surprise push for top 4 depending how teams cope with European football.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 23:32:55
ed. How much is our net spend, I know this calculation means we have to estimate some of the fees, but, broad brush, it seems, that our spending, is little more than we recived for stones, what do you see the figure being?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know but assuming all you are going to do is trash the owners then read everything I have been saying since good old Moshy whipped it out. You have created a false dawn.}

31 Aug 2016 23:20:23
Gutted we didn't strengthen in a few positions, but I think the window's been a success. Signed some great players; brought Koeman in; Walsh as DoF; new stadium's never been closer. Club's in a good place.

All thing's considered: I'm feeling positive.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:15:23
I actually hope the Sissoko deal does get done at Spurs. Never wanted the lad and he won't improve their squad. But I would like to know what happened to Brahimi. He is quality.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:15:20
What is with all the negativity? We have strengthened the squad with exciting, experienced Prem players but so many people are complaining, but why? Because we haven't been pushed into paying ridiculous prices for unproven players? Because we haven't panicked and spent money for the sake of it? Everyone going on about being promised all this money to spend, has anyone actually got a viable link of FM saying "I will give 100mil of my own money for transfers"? I think not. Already people turning on Koeman an Walsh, give you're head a wobble people. I agree with Ed002 some fans are an embarrassment!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:11:30
Cheer up blues. We are a much stronger team now than we were at the beginning of the window, and we actually made a profit. I know Valencia hasn't been great at west ham, but he is surely better than Kone and Niasse. Hopefully we announce the signing of the docks property to put everybody back in a good mood.
I am also glad we didn't sign sissoko. Seems like a player who isn't fully committed to the team; something that we don't need at Everton. Onwards and upwards coyb.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:09:43
Despite my negativity I think Valencia will svpre goals. Just feel so flat.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:08:40
i withdraw my previous post as he said he didn't want to join us, am not bothered about the player that bugged me like i said, i thought we just folded which is not what happened apparently so my bad. i do feal we need am, lm, st tho but am not a manager so time will tell. lv dd but boy it gets stressfull haha.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:08:22
It's funny how people were fuming at us potentially signing Sissoko and then fuming 5 mins later that we aren't going to sign him.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:26:47
Not me mate, damaged was already done, leaving it late and trying to sign maybe a c or d choice player. please learn your lesson Everton and get it done early, we have money now.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 23:03:24
Well one thing this transfer window has taught me. £7.1 million for Idrissa Gueye is an absolute bargain.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:11:17
12 million for Williams is also a bargain.

Can't understand it we already have two crappie strikers in kone an the other feller.

Not great fan of Merson but had a chucckle when he said he hopes the Sissoko deal doesn't get done in time.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 23:00:45
Well we got the striker everyone was saying we needed. he may play well in our set up.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 23:16:22
Lets hope so, he has talent that's for sure.

31 Aug 2016 22:59:43
Today has been awful seriesly, should od been signed and sealed days ago.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:58:51
We did everything we could to sign Sissoko and he played a really sneaky hand. 3.5 minutes to go. I sincerely hope he left it too late and they can't get his signature in in time. It would serve him right. No blame on us. No blame on Newcastle. You can't even really blame Spurs. Its all down to Sissoko.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:57:32
Still find it a bit dodgy the way we never really spent any money till stones was sold.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:53:25
"Good news for evertonians everywhere you've signed valencia" wind your neck in jim .
Im not sure what sort of signing he'll turn out to be but he his taking the piss.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:51:50
Regarding Sissokko situation, the club are better without him.
Shows as in the real world to be very very careful who you can trust and who you cannot trust. In this case maybe the player, agent or chairman of other clubs.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 22:50:04
I think Everton have made 4 really good buys BUT Ithink its been a poor transfer window. In my opinion we've needed another striker for at least 12 months and another creative midfielder (minimum) . When u couple that with the fact that niasse has no future, mcgeady has no future, Galloway on loan, Osman released, Hibbert released, pienaar released, tarashaj on loan, stones sold, garbut . on loan? besic injured. it seems like the squad is a lot thinner. and it seems like the club has come up short in negotiations or whatever to attract the additional recruits and acquire real depth of talent. A little bit underwhelmed BUT COYB.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:05:57

Ed02 has told us all along what we won't see through our blue tainted glasses, we are a team that's finished bottom half two years running, we were always going to be second to anyone higher or trying to get the level of players we want who personally want champions league.

That sissoko deal was well done and dusted by Spurs we just made them pay more.

We have moved forward, needed more but it never went our way.

Now we need to hope we can stay free from injuries and crack on till January then see if we can strengthen

Night all, going to dream of Valencia banging in 30 this season haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:49:59
Fantastic Valencia. Fantastic we have added one of the worst attacking players in the premier to our team, can we just tell West Ham we have made a mistake and send him back.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

01 Sep 2016 13:05:00
Agree. Don't see the point of the deal at all. Not good enough for West ham why is he good enough for us?

so apparently he not answering his phone, is it not his agent we deal with until he arrives, is his agent not answering either, if so what does that say about us, rk, walsh and bk, player and agent clearly dnt respect rk, walsh and bk at all, wht is that ablout hmmm.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:44:14
Seriously. what's with all the negativity. we have already strengthened our team. Were 4th in the league and undefeated. We already look much improved compared to last season. Yes its early days but were at the right end of the table after 3 games.
The players we tried to sign are of a much higher calibre than previous windows. Rk and walsh have had very little time to prepare for this window.
I just don't understand the mentality of some fans that throw their toys out of the pram because we didn't blow cash on players we didn't want to keep the fans happy.

No excuses. This is mis management of the highest calibre. You have to make things happen in the business world and we are simply incapable. The signing of Gueye was superb business but how disappointing that he will not be joined by others. I seriously wish we didn't bother sometimes as we are now a laughing stock once again.

31 Aug 2016 22:59:03
I'm not advocating spending on 'anyone', quite the opposite which is why I'm bemoaning taking a west ham player on loan and getting gazumped on a panic buy. We've had all summer to strengthen and we haven't done enough. You can't honestly believe we can get by with rom and Kone as only strikers. Where's the strategy? Apparently we have money so let's use it rather than hide behind the same old excuses.

i can not believe what am hearing, we agree terms and fee, spurs come in with an hr to spare so we withdraw. r u joking me, so we had 100m apparantly, sell stones for 48m spend about 40 then back out after terms and fee agreed co spurs bid, what happened to 100m what happened to moroshi deep pockets, lol same old same old, its not who it is its the fact we showed no muscle which we were ment to have phah. to be a force u have to show metal strength, an a determination to say to other we won't be beaten, spurs bid we fold. wow.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - did you want us to bid £35m to get him TB?, terms were agreed and a plane and medical staff ready, sissoko and spurs shafted us and it left us in the lurchit happens i suppose but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth..

31 Aug 2016 22:53:38
We can just boo him when he comes to Goodison. That's our only form of revenge. Then again with all the CMs Spurs has he probably won't even play. Spurs have done this to us that many times I wonder if they just buy players so we can't have them (as we are usually fighting for a similar position)

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:54:11
i want us to get our man if we want him, not fold as soon as another team come in, that's what's annoying me, like i said its not who it is, its the fact we didn't even fight, if we want him show some fight. tbh me personnaly tyhe player dnt bother me, how we gave in does.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - so you want a player who does not want to play for us..and pay £30m for the privilege?..or offer more???? hmmmmmmmm

31 Aug 2016 22:54:27
Spuds had that deal well wrapped up, bargaining the price, they didn't expect us to come into the fold by looks of things.

not enough goals in the squad.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:56:05
We will only struggle if Rom gets injured. He will start banging them in soon, Ross and Mirallas will weigh in with a few and the likes of Bolasie, Lennon, Deulofeu, Barry, Coleman, Baines will get a couple too. Valencia and Kone may even chip in as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:36:28
If SSN is to be believed then I am glad we are not getting Sissoko, attitude sounds terrible.

Starting to see those Kenwright posts/ disgraceful window posts creep in again, neither are true.

Kenwright has done nothing wrong in this window, it hasn't been a bad window. I desperately want Everton to be successful like everyone else however, we have to be realistic, until we consistently finish in the top 5 and push on for the top 4 the 'big names' won't be interested in us.

It's not 1987 sadly, we haven't just won the league, we are a club back on the rise, much like the early 80's when we signed some players people perhaps weren't inspired by, turned out alright didn't it.

New stadium, better infrastructure, bit more realism needed. it's not going to be an overnight transformation.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2016 22:32:27
So champions league was big draw for sissoko well enjoy it while it lasts cause they ain't getting top 4 this season I will even put down that they won't finish above us.

Our search for a marquee signing can basically be summed up with the phrase "Everton snubbed by. "

Believable2 Unbelievable1

LUCKY ESCAPE . hot and cold don't need that poor attitude, but as many have previously stated, transfers should have been completed through the Summer not now however 'exciting' that may be . Mourinho had the right idea, buying early . smart arse!
Anyway January should be interesting we've still got around £100m in the bank apparently .

Believable2 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2016 22:31:07
where a joke, why wait till deadline day to get players in, and then we can't even get our panic buys done! had all summer to get a marquee signing and now we will probably end up with valencia as the back up striker we've all been wanting! what's happened to Bahrani?!

Would have been nice to get Sissoko as I mentioned before but to be fair, I'm not devastated that we haven't. If he can't even have the decency to let us know then he can do one. It's just sad that it's happened at a stage in the window where we have no time to get anyone else. According to my mate who's a Newcastle fan we have dodged a bullet for that price, but only time will tell.

Do you all want to tell me how good a window it's been now
We've improved our first team still no squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 22:27:21
To my fellow evertonians there have been no real marquee signings at a true value, Spurs have been suckered in to paying £15m more than they offered for sissoko, slimani £29m? Really!
No top players have moved those that have are so overpriced!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 22:38:24
I think we may have dodged a bullet with Sissoko the price was definitely over inflated but that's football. On the plus side McGeady has gone on another loan its just a shame we could not get both Him and Niassie off the books. What we do know is we are willing to pay a decent amount to buy players and it looks like if RK wants someone then price is not going to be too much of an issue. I just hope SW and RK can identify new targets and get the deals in early as we have with Gueye Bolasie Williams and Stekkers. IRKWT.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:22:41

Ed025 was Sissoko not on his way tous for a medical? If so, he surely cannot be on his way to Spurs for one at this late stage? And if he is it can't be much of a medical, so all the paperwork that has to be in by 11pm will ne a 30 million gambol?

If Sissoko joins Spurs, this will well and truly be the most farcical transfer window. I can understand why clubs leave deals to the last minute, with the hope that a cut price deal will be made. We have the money to buy these players, just get on with it and sort it out early.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:10:23
I also cannot understand the negativity now. yes I was negative for 3 years under Martinez. because most of his signings were poor and his tactics were poor. Koeman has immediately made 4 signings who have walked into the 1st team. It looks like at lest 1 more will be added. that's half a team and he has only been with us a couple of months. If Sissoko signs, he has turned down a move to a Champions League team to sign for us. What do people expect. Ronaldo or Messi to sign? Allthe players are big strong lads with pace and skill. Fit as a butchers dog (Valencia excepted. but he is only on loan anyway) . Koeman has also had 3 youth players involved in the first 3 games which tells me he is willing to blood them when ready. so I ask, "why all the negativity? ".

Great post Degsy. I think that fans have gone mad expecting us to sign James Rodriguez or Julian Draxler. Anyway, while we shouldn't worry about the money, if you think about it we got Gueye for next to nothing so that balances Sissoko out for me. I wish we had got a better striker but for me this is still the best transfer window we've ever had.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:17:08
Brilliant Degsy. It has been our best window. Four players for the 1st 11 which we have never done before.

Really cannot understand why so many posters are so negative on here!
Players in are so positive, the players targeted that are not in is not because we don't offer enough or they don't want to come its because the club won't sell for whatever there reason, the same as we wouldn't with Lukaku or stones.
It will take time and the improvement at this point is significant even RK has asked for patience and time!
We as fans should trust him and enjoy the ride!

Is he considerably better than their current options? "

Sissoko would be a Barry replacement. Again he offers something a bit more than Barry in which he can drive forward as well. Gana and Sissoko are McCarthy and Barry but with another dimension.

Don't get me wrong Barry still has something to add to the team with his experience and I like him in the squad.

The new manager, says it will take him 2 years to put everton back on track, and who put us in such perilious state, BILL great manager martinez.

Sheesh. I thought I was the negative one. these players are quality players.4 of 4 of Koeman's signings have walked straight into the first team. We have 7 points from 9. More importantly our defence does not look like a sieve with a broken mesh (meaning it let's too much through if you didn't understand. Sissoko is the one player I have wanted for the last 2 weeks and actually predicted that McCarthy would go the other way. Valencia is not an injury player except for last season. remember Peter Reid? and he was not a bad signing. Even Phil Neville is predicting big things for us now. Koeman has it right. Kenright and Moshiri have it right negotiating for players who in truth want Champions League football. They may have to wait a season signing for us, but at this rate they will get their wish.

We've done OK this window and we'll do well in my opinion. We will use January to strengthen even more. anyone who is negative needs to realise long term this club now is looking so much stronger than ever before (especially premier league era) and i am more than willing to hold on for the ride and not criticise our management team who need time to develop out club from the bottom up.

We ha have money now and can't get the players in (or won't) feels very much like a load of near miss sob stories on signings that fans will swallow then forget only to repeat again next window. That's a bit of a backward step sounds like even you have given up signing anyone decent Ed. but I agree with other guy we have had to sell before we could buy?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - then why are we offering sums of £30m for these players konehead?its a blip mate and will be rectified at the earliest opportunity..

31 Aug 2016 20:14:03
I hope you're right Ed, I really do. I think the squad is good now but we need more if we are going to move up the league, especially up front. If the Valencia rumour is true then it's a bit underwhelming. Hopefully I have a different view come 11PM.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - whatever happens robbo we are in a good place, new owner, new manager, a DOF, and a stadium on the way...whats not to like..

31 Aug 2016 19:10:34
Trust me. all these rumours. Axel Witsel. etc. etc. It all came from Goodison to appease the fans. knowing later that they could claim they really tried, Tomorrow we could be a laughing stock. Gutted.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we will never be a laughing stock Bkk, this club is going places mate and im proud to be a blue and very happy with the direction we are heading..if a kid was asking for mega toys for chrimbo and cried because he never got everything he wanted you would call him a brat..dont be a brat..

31 Aug 2016 19:27:06
We have to buy the right players for this club and manager and if they are not available at a good price then we have to be patient. We ain't going to buy a title overnight.

31 Aug 2016 19:27:10
Find a dark room go in the corner and give your head a wobble. We are in a strong position financially, are looking to secure a site for a new stadium and have not sold players to funderstand debts. Would you like to go back to Peter Johnson bankrolling a Walter Smith spending spree that nearly bankrupt the club and sent us down? No me neither.

Why are people coming out as if it's the end of the world? We have strengthened the squad already this window, there are positions that need adding to but if a deal isn't right then there is no point wasting cash. Be grateful for what we have and for the direction the club is now going in. There's a lot to look forward to regardless of whether we make a signing on deadline day.
On another note, have you and oz rooster got a bit of history ed025? Maybe just a typo, not often you see people praising their 'ex' :)

Hi Ed what is it with some of our fans all these negative posts on here some of it is absolute rubbish, loads of time left we will sign players, GuernseyBlue.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - some people just like to moan GB, for me even if we dont get the big names that we are being linked with im still happy, this club is on the up and im happy to be a part of what promises to be a great ride mate..

31 Aug 2016 19:32:40
Couldn't agree more, I'm happy with the signings we have made, they may not have been the so called big names the papers have linked us to but they have all made a superb start in my eyes and therefore they are more than good enough for me so far.

I haven't been this excited for a long time, I hate my place of work to the point of despair and my personal life has been anything but lovely for the last 18 months however, for the first time in a while Everton have actually cheered my mood, I saw Goodison for the first time since I was 17 (I'm 31) on Saturday and I'd forgotten how the atmosphere can instantly put THAT smile on your face.

We've got a good season in store, I can feel it.

It is the same every Season give it another few months once Mr Moshri gains overall control and things will change. The changes have already been vast and Mr Moshris influence felt Club wide. 31 Aug 2016 17:17:04
Remember a few years ago when we signed Fellaini. I don't think we where even linked with him and then out of the blue we signed him at like 12.

I'm still pretty confident there will be some movement. At least that's what I'm telling myself haha.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 17:01:41
So I'm still checking for the yellow bar and Everton sign. But tbh if I don't see it i won't be as disappointed as I was last season as I feel we have a strong enough side with a strong manager in place to take us forward. We have 3 good Centre half's in Jags, Williams and Mori, we have an abundance of Central midfielders who may not be world beaters but can do a job and then attack wise we have Rom as an out and out striker and Kone as back up again he ain't a world beater but can do a job and also Kev and Delboy can operate as a false 9 in that system if needed so we still have options. Do we really want a signing for the sake of it? Just like Niasse? I certainly don't . I'm happy we have addressed the left side problem with Bolasie, we have strengthened the defence with Williams and we have got a footballer in the engine room in Gueye. If you would have offered me that plus a new management team at the end of last season I would have taken that as the first step in our gradual progression. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint and we need to improve our standing in the league before we can expect top players to take us serious. Onwards and upwards.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i like your thinking gray...but the greed in me wants a striker in mate..

31 Aug 2016 18:17:03
Sorry to be the party pooped but looks like jimy is going and possibly Gibson also if lukaku gets hurt who will cover him, lone? Niasse?
We need a striker minimum and if possible a centre back and centre mid or 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 18:27:35
We need atleast 1 more striker min and a creative midfielder. Would like to see Kone come too. If we want to improve we have to get atleast 3 players this window.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 16:42:04
Okay people. Let's take a few deep breathes. Remember that the window closes at 11pm and there is always a shed load of activity towards the last few hours of it. We also tend to be the club that comes out with these big deals as well. McCarthy and Fellani are two of the bigger ones but also many more.

I would be a little disappointed if we didn't get another big signing in BUT I am absolutely happy with the business done so far and how our team is shaping up.

If you have any doubts simply just cast your mind back to the beginning of May and how bad it felt to be a blue.

On top of this the stories coming out about what we are looking to do for the new stadium sound more amazing every day and instead of looking at the short term look at the longer term picture, it looks like every dream we've ever had over the past 30 years are all about to come true.

Patience blues. We're about to go on the ride of our lives.

{Ed025's Note - i will be sobbing like a 10 year old girl who has just been stung by a wasp john.. :)

31 Aug 2016 16:59:11
Sorry back to my reply Ed LOL.

That first day sat in my new seat. It will mean one thing that has been a dreaded thought in the back of my mind will never happen.

My kids will have an Everton football club to go and watch and not languishing in the lower leagues and a ghost of the club it was but a vibrant club basking in the upper reaches of football able to compete with the best in the world.

That for me is more important than any player signing for us. If I see you there Ed, the first bevy is on me and we can toast it together mate.

{Ed025's Note - i will hold you to that john mate.. :)

No just nothing to announce.

It's not negative though we are looking great mate. We will have a solid season. We have a great manager, great globally respected head scout, and a proper businessman as an owner.

Really we are going places, mega deadline day signing or not. Ps most deadline day signings are ranked as the most unpopular players at their new clubs by the fans within 9 months.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 19:19:24

31 Aug 2016 15:48:42
We all need to massively lower our expectations with regards to this window and deadline day, January as well. There are no longer surprises in football. We are not linked with anyone major apart from Kone and Gabbiadani but it looks like the former will not be sold and the latter will only be sold based on their valuation which we will not meet.
We have had a good window in my opinion, definitely stronger as a club than the close of the last January window.
The only thing I'm annoyed with is the fact it's a bloody international break. Want to see us extend our unbeaten start to the season
Koeman you blues.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 16:18:05
I'm with you Svenny we need to see the boys playing and not have to sit through boring international football at the start pf the PL. I still don't understand why some fans want to through money away just to say we signed a player on deadline day, surely RK and SW know who they want and what they think they are worth. If the price isn't right and they are not willing to buy as a result then fair play to them. I do have a chuckle at all the fans that are quite happy to whinge when owners don't spend their own money on over inflated valuations of players based on opinion of whether they think a player is good world class or has nice hair in some cases.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 14:50:44
Why are people panicking?
If we sign someone great if not so be it RK is still evaluating the squad no panic buys!
We're unbeaten and half the ones on here are blaggers and FM manager players who don't leave the house!
Nobody really know who we're in for!
So just chill and wait and see still plenty of time!
COYB.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

31 Aug 2016 14:42:31
Can't see Kone happening. Why would we buy him when we are pretty strong at the back? With Williams, Jagielka, Funes Mori and Holgate all looking solid, I just don't see where he would fit in. Likewise with Sissoko.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 15:29:07

31 Aug 2016 14:09:40
Have a bad feeling about the outcome of deadline day. Bony gone, London clubs in for Sissoko and we are just linked with gabbiadinni who would be a total unknown at premier league level.

Feels like the new boss is the same as the old boss and we will be given stories of how we tried and failed to make signings and we must sign 'the right players' for the club. We've only spent the stones money, where's the new money? Where are the big name signings to push us on? Why didn't we stump up for Hart? Fear we are getting spun a yarn again and most fans will loyally swallow the rhetoric rather than realise we've spent nothing more than the stones money we got in!

Believable2 Unbelievable7

31 Aug 2016 14:32:05
will get 2 as a minimum, perhaps 4, this new ownership does not indulge in the bullshit we have been spun in the past.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 14:36:37
Wow. How negative can people be? I don't really care that we haven't spent much more than the stones money. Is our squad better? Yes. Is our club in a better position? Yes. Is the stadium closer now than it has been for years? Yes. Did we replace our hapless manager with someone with huge respect in football, with premier league experience? Yes. Did we change our scouting system and bring in someone who was largely credited for giving Leicester the squad to win the league? Yes. Have we started the season better than we have for years? Yes. I can go on and on.

Agree3 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 14:45:05
have to agree with what you have said. at the start of the window we brought in the GK and Gueyre - the amount spent on both is what you would typically spend when bolstering your squad. the rest of the money has been spent once Stones was gone ( we replaced a young defender- yes he wanted to leave with a ageing defender and spent 20odd mill on an attacker)

So yes we have spent what we have recouped in essence and even tho I am happy with the players brought in I was led to beleive we would be spending more on players that could push us forward towards European footy.

Agree1 Disagree2

31 Aug 2016 14:41:16

Why didn't we stump up the cash for hart? Why didn't any premier league club? Because he is overpriced and overrated.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 14:48:08
Are you serious? We have brought in Stek, Williams, Bolasie and Gueye. Why does it matter if we make more money than we spend? The hierarchy can't just click their fingers and demand that so called big name signings join us. Quite simply we are not an attractive enough proposition! - I love Everton as much as anyone but i'm a realist who knows that we need to improve our league position before better quality will want to consider us. I don't want us signing mediocrity just to appease fans who want a whole new squad every window.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 14:52:43
See my post a few pages back. We are in good shape, even if we sign no one.

I was written that Bony was a 120k a week benchwarmer. RK and Walsh know what they are looking for.

Have faith folks. The team as it is is better. As the players gel, as they shift to RK's way, we are going to be better.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 15:33:18
Its tough out there, we didn't even attract the best when we consistently finished in the top 6.
We are being linked with better players now than when we were in europe so that has got to be a change for the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 16:26:08
Don't want to be negative, I think the club is in great shape now but it's a long season ahead. If we are going to be competitive, we need a better squad. Too much reliance on Rom, are there enough goals in the squad? stek is decent but not top class, can jags last the season, same for Barry. It's a great start to the season and it looks promising but I fear without adding quality, we'll run out of steam.

Of course the club is in a better position on a number of fronts and that's great, I just think we could have done more to push ourselves forward. stumping up for Hart, Bony et al would have been a statement of intent.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 16:53:57

I wouldn't say let down ant. The calibre of the signings we've made so far gas been exceptional and the player's we've been linked with in the last few days far exceed our targets in previous transfer windows.
All in all I'm very happy so far. Another signing or two today would be nice but I won't be too disappointed if we don't.

I'd certainly say let down. What the point in being linked with players if you don't sign them. Too easy for the club to say they tried but it's tough. That's a cop out! We've only spent the stones money (albeit on good signings) and RK, Kenwright moshiri and Walsh need holding to account if we don't add more players.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 14:54:26
ROBBO05 you win jackass of the year for that! Being linked with a player doesn't make it true. Newspapers say anything they want, rumours come from idiot fans on Twitter etc and snowball, its generally just nonsense.
As for holding to account our new Manager, Owner and DOF for not signing enough players, you're being a fool! Are you going to start a petition for new manager or organise pathetic fly overs after possibly the shortest reign ever?

Apparently Moshiri has told Sky it is an "insane" transfer window. He says we have a few bids in but things are difficult. Perhaps this is because all the clubs have the sky money so actually don't need to sell. They are all aware that we may have a bit more, but which is more important. good players or money in the bank? Bumpy ride right up to the last minute I think. And Mr Moshiri having to dig deeper into his pockets than he thought.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 12:50:41
I think Mr Moshiri will dig deeper if he believes that it is necessary but he's no fool, nor is anyone else involved in the transfer business. Everton recognise that they aren't offering CL this year but won't be held to ransom.

I still think there will be at least one more addition but if there isn't I'll still be pleased with the progress so far. Rome wasn't built in a day and January will soon be here. If Everton continue to improve as they are at the moment the club will attract players. COYB!

Hello Blues. Had to post today as deadline day seems to be as exciting as Christmas nowadays, just putting up the tree! I hope it doesn't turn out to be another one of them days where we see all our targets being bought by other clubs (not mentioning no names) . What I would class as a good days business is Wilfred Bony (gutted he's Stoke bound) , Brahimi (I think we all wish) and Lamine Kone. I know this isn't likely but I'm wishing lol. Also is it me or are we short for cover at rb? What would you guys/ girls class a days business? Great start to the new season btw, exciting times ahead! COYB!

Not bothered about Bony however the Brahimi one though has been pointed out by Edoo2 that it's worth keeping an eye on, fingers crossed for Kone .

I do like Brahimi, i think we all do, but didn't one of the Ed's say he was more of a wide man? I remember Koeman saying we have an abundance of wingers and lbs during an interview, alluding to the point he would be focusing on other areas, so this move seems unnecessary to me.
Who knows though, perhaps he considers Brahimi to be a player he didn't imagine he'd be able to get here and he just can't pass up the chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Brahimi is rather more than that. Think of him as an attacking midfield player who can also play on the left.}

Kone in or Kone out?

Kone in or Kone out?
Well BOTH hopefully :)

31 Aug 2016 12:15:55
Both! :) And give away the likes of Niasse, Mcgeady for a fiva a piece if any takers. It's looking very quiet for us on Sky at the minute. Hope it hots up this afternoon/ evening a little. Sure Bill and Moshri are very busy.

31 Aug 2016 12:27:15
Ah i see, Thanks Ed002. So is that roughly the same position as Eden Hazard or am i being completely dumb today? I like versatility in a player as they can bring fresh tactics mid game without the need for a substitute so il be keeping my fingers crossed on this one more than any other transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - More like Marcelo Cañete, but that sort of thing.}

31 Aug 2016 13:21:26
Crikey, how can you reference lesser known Argentines so easily to give out info?! I think it's clear my football knowledge is much lower than that of Ed002 as Canete was a google search for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He was high profile for a while. And he has switched from left to right.}

31 Aug 2016 09:39:32
It appears a couple of targets may be subject to players going in to the selling clubs as replacements so it could mean late business, I'm sure no one saw the Swiss lad going so could be more coming in than those we already expect!

Hmmm lots of rumoured targets getting snapped up. Hopefully we haven't actually missed out, but we weren't interested anyhow . Berehino might be worth a look maybe?

This is like a novel and getting to the last chapter and still not knowing what the rubbish is happening. "He is having a medical, he is not having a medical". "We have pulled out of a deal, we have resurrected a deal". "We are in talks with this player, we are not in talks with this player"
Not long to wait but their has to be more twists and turns to this tale before the last page.

Well it's TDD. I am excited for what's in store but were usually I'm desperate for us to get someone in, this time I can take it or leave it.

I am so happy with many things that have happened this summer and anything additional would be jusf a bonus.

I do think though there are a few surprises in store for us blues today and we may even get as many as four new players by 11pm.

Like you BlueJ I'm also not that bothered about deadline day which is a first. Actually I would rather see some of our unwanted players go and if we don't bring anyone in then there will be good reasons why. We have not spent too much and may have even broke even with our transfer business so far which usually would have some screaming from the roof tops but this time it just seems so much more positive. It just goes to show how a decent management team can change opinions and I think we have one of the best. So I won't be glued to SSN today which is no bad thing because they do spout a lot of bull then constantly repeat it throughout the day.

From scanning all the rumour sites and a bit of my gut feel. here are the possibilities.

1 we cock it all up and no-one signs unlikely.
2 Kone from Sunderland 50:50 likely
3 Sissoko from Newcastle 30:70 likely
4 Brahimi from Porto 80:20 likely
5 Gabiadini from Napoli 50:50 likely
6 Son from Spurs 50:50 likely
7 Bony from Citey 50:50

Apparently Brahimi has flown in to UK this morning but there are rumours Arsenal are also interested. But I would have thought they had signed enough players?
Gabiadini deal is done, but Napoli will not release him until they have a replacement. I would guess that means we will divert to Bony if that is looking unlikely. Son is now surplus to requirements at Spurs yet had a great last season. No mention of Sissoko after initial rumours a few days ago. That is just my sneaking suspicion. Newcastle have an unhappy player. We have an unhappy player in the same position. Our manager likes their player. Their manager likes our player. 2 + 2 = Sissoko?
Interesting day ahead. My God we are all going to be dissapointed if we sign no one after all the hype. Come on Everton get it done asap!

Not much to disagree with there Degs. Although latest in sissoco is that spurs have entered the race and will be favourites with CL footy.

And it's also the Everton way to have a sneaky surprise in there too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no done deal for Gabbiadini. Everton has shown no interest in Son who is wanted by Wolfsburg in order to let Draxler leave. I have explained about Sissoko.}

31 Aug 2016 09:13:57
According to the 'Star' Degsy, the Kone move could hinge on Sakho going to Sunderland on loan? 🤷.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 09:34:32
Talksport and radio kiss kiss have both reported that a 20 mill deal is agreed in principal but is reliant on a replacement being found. Gabbiadini will only be allowed to go once the replacement is sorted. I understand Bony may be the replacement? But that is conjecture. So this is coming out from Italy. not rumour sites over here.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained previously about Gabbiadini and the three issues that pretty much killed the deal - and Bony is certainly not his replacement as he is going to join Stoke as was explained yesterday. Brahimi would be someone worth thinking about a little more today.}

31 Aug 2016 10:56:38
How can Gabbiadini be a "done deal" but they won't release him? I like that new tactic and i think we should have done that with Stones, take the 50 million but keep him here.
I was under the impression Spurs said Son will not be leaving, but i like him and its a shame it's a non starter.
I don't see Kone happening at all. Sunderland need to keep him, we don't actually need him. I'd say with Williams, Jags, Mori and Holgate we are pretty comfortable in central defence.

Well folks, it's finally here. Christmas and birthday roles into one. the wait is over, excitement building. so much better being linked to top players rather than loan deals for has beens or never had's. Looking forward to seeing who comes and goes.
As said before, we are stronger even if nothing happens today But I can honestly us doing fair bit of business, in and out.

Get yourself settled in front of the box, few beers and send the wife to her mum's for the night. we've waited years to be this excited, let's enjoy it.

I am very happy with the business we have done and in particular the confidence instilled in players and supporters alike with the arrival of Mr Moshri and his business acumen. However at this stage of the window we are hardly likely to acquire that marquee signing, the reality being that the only 'marquee' signings left are those that Clubs wish to get rid of and rub their hands with glee as the desperation sets in of those Clubs who see the transfer window closing rapidly and thus their dreams fading. I am in the camp that believes the transfer window should begin at the end of one season and terminate at the start of the new.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow, Everton is already a much better team.

1. New attitude, thanks to RK.
2. Better tactics, thanks to RK.
3. Stek is an upgrade at keeper.
4. Williams is an upgrade at CB
5. Holgate. Stones who?
6. Gueye. Enough said.
7. Bolassie, the right side express train.
8. Super Kev is back.
9. Lukaku has something to prove.

Anything else Walsh and Koeman bring in is just caramel sauce on a Big Blue sundae.
