I have absolutely nothing against Big Vic. I just feel that he won't progress at us where he is not gettin to much first team football. If he went to another club perhaps he would get a lot more football than he would sittin on the bench at us.
Jord {Ed025's Note - good point jord...a loan would solve a lot of the issues surrounding him..

This is banter from bluenosedegsy who is not degsybluenose. I am not trying to impersonate degsybluenose. My name is Degsy and I am a bluenose. I apologise to any other bluenoses and are not Degsy's.I also apologise to Degsybluenose for any confusion I have caused in using a different order of Degsy, Blue and nose. Perhaps if I renamed myself as Nosebluedegsy? Or would that cause more confusion to all the Bluenoses? Or did I mean Noseblues? Hope you all relaise by now that I am hoping to make light of this and will rename myself as someone else entirely and soon. Yours all sincerely, Bluenosedegsy {Ed025's Note - thanks for the explanation mate

Why do Evertonians always have a scapegoat? It was Johnny Heitinga a while back before his magnificent season and Big Vic has been getting slagged off a while. This could be Victors' season and I think people need to get off his back he's had his injury problems and now he's ready to become the player we all thought he was destined to be a few years back. Also the £4.5m we have agreed for the player that changed our season last time out is a fair deal. I don't understand that people wouldn't want this deal to happen citing the fact that he is 30 years old as the problem. I believe that Peanuts has got another 3/4 years in him as he relies more on skill and technique rather than pace. My main point is that all this negativity needs to stop we have a great squad and a magnificent manager and this season is the season that Everton get back into Europe.

Joe EFC

Believable9 Unbelievable2

There are plenty of scapegoats on this site.

Not-the-Wigus

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Joe but all clubs have scapegoats its been like that since Adam was a lad..
I have never booed any body in a blue shirt but there are players who I have felt arent good enough to wear the shirt.
Its called opinions and unfortunately Victors style and apparent lack of enthusiasm whilst playing makes him a candidate to be the "scapegoat".
His goal "celebration" adds fuel to the fire.
Joe if we scored for the blues Im sure our celebration would involve more than punching the flag!!!

Think Ross Barkley deserves a loan-spell this season in the championship. My idea: Get Matt Phillips for X amount and give blackpool Ross Barkley on a year-long loan deal. It will give him experience like it did with seamus coleman. Or try and get a swap phillips for coleman..

CP

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I think Barkley deserves a run in the first team not a loan. Just my opinion.

Please tell me that we haven't paid £4.5M for a 30 year old.....
Kenny Ashton.

Believable5 Unbelievable13

We have paid 4.5 million for a really good player who we love and as proved can play in the prem as proved he fits into are team so much, why moan mate 30 is still a good age and we should get about 4-5 good years service from Steven so 4.5 million now a days for a class player is good. Terry blue

Agree0 Disagree0

He is worth about 2m-2.5m tops.
Little ecky..

Agree0 Disagree0

I will tell you what we have paid 4.5mil, we have paid 4.5mil for a lad who was a major part in us turning our season around and having the 3rd highest point tally in the 2nd half of the season (only behind the Mancs). A lad who in 14 games, registered 4 goals and 7 assists who is integral to our brilliant football. Not to mention, he makes our big big players (Jelavic, Baines and Fellaini) much better.

I love the fact you only highlight his age, yes, he is 30, but the way he plays football, he can easily get another 3/4yrs out of him, he is a player than relies more on the technical aspect, rather than the physical (i.e. pace) aspect of the game.

Just be happy, people moan and moan when we don't sign anyone, then when we do, they continue to moan.

Agree0 Disagree0

There seem to be a lot of people slating Peanut all of a sudden, people we have never heard of, gonna have to say it guys

Koppite alerts

Degsyluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

O.K I wont tell you, we,ve just payed £4.5 m for a 30year old!

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be worse we could spend 35 million on a donkey, 20 million on a winger with no assists in a season, 6.5 million on a player who cant run and is a dirty player, 11 million on a chelsea reject. So yes 4.5 million is not to bad for a 30 year old class player and makes so much happen on the pitch so to me its a bargain. Terry blue {Ed025's Note - very good point terry..

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Degsy, all these 'new' people are because YOU said anyone who didn't leave a name was a kopite! Now anyone who does leave a name is a kopite! Make your mind up la.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why call me a Kopite because i don't think we should've paid £4.5M for a 30 year old? Spurs sold him because they think he's not up to it and we fell for it big time.. £3M at the most.
Kenny Ashton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember when we broke the transfer record for a goalkeeper,2.6 mill,.....ye don't laugh,....Steve simmo,...this deal might be like that, initial fee of 2.5,mill,a bit more when he's made six hundred starts,a bit more when we make champions league, and so on,.....there's no way we would pay 4.5 mill,it would have been cheaper to give him pay parity with arteta and he would not have left in the first place,......did we pay a loan fee for last season,....

Agree0 Disagree0

Called you a possible Koppite because yet again we make a boss signing and yet again some people enjoy slating the club, negative and sad

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha damned if you do damned if you don't.

Come on blues, stop whinging. We are about to sign a creative, goal scoring, forward thinking, winger who plays excellently with Baines. It's also the same price we paid for Buzz

4.5 mil is a steel. A diff of 1.5 mil over a year that we saved prob double that on not paying his wages cos spuds had him

Top players = top payment

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - your right again ace..

Agree0 Disagree0

If you can't make a post saying what you think between Evertonians, on an Everton site then what's the point in being on here?
still can't believe we are going to pay £4.5M for a 30 year old, that's all our season ticket money for 2 years.
Kenny Ashton. {Ed025's Note - you cant think of it like that mate!...imagine how the R/S feel, thats 7 years of their season tickets! for carroll, aqalani 5 years, downing 5 years, and henderson 3!...at least we know our guy fits! you are entitled to your opinion kenny....but lets get in the real world, quality costs money!!

We have one of the most exiting young midfield prospects in world football coming through for next season, potentially one of the best strikers in the premier league, we've already made one good signing and are about to complete another, the 3rd best defensive record in the league, one of the best left backs in world football, and arguably the best defensive midfielder in the league... yet you still get people being pessimistic. Only at Everton...

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - your dead right ace..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, it make me laugh. Some of our supporters seem to think we have a God given right to be top of the league with all the money in the world. They forget the mis management of the 90's started by Peter Johnson and his cronies. They also forget the dark days of money wastage by Walter Smith and Mike Walker. Blue Bill and Moysey are doing an absolute sterling job dragging us back to the top of the league. It aint going to happen overnight. Man U have just signed a new shirt sponsorship deal. Right now I dont know how much it's worth but I will guess its more than our annual turnover. Get real lads. We are getting there, but it will take many years of re building. It needs to be done on a solid foundation to entice a new buyer who will then pump money in. Right now there are other clubs who are better buys which is why it seems quiet on that front. A couple of seasons in Europe and the new buyer will really get things going! COYB {Ed025's Note - nice post mate..very fair..

Any truth in the rumours about Zapata coming to us eds? Apparently is a free agent, but looks good and was linked with RS lat year for 12 mil? Would be good replacement for sylvain who's age may catch up with him soon and would allow us to maybe loan out Duffy for more game time? Also loving reading all the Cahill interviews. What an attitude to the game he has, an example to all young toffees and a certain Royston drenthe, should have learnt from his attitude and might have made the grade at goodison!

Times states we have made an approach for Zapata from Villereal. He would be free as he's out of contract. As we already have Distin, Jags, Heitinga & Duffy who fill the centre back role, does this suggest that Heitinga might be off Ed?

I have a funny feeling this Pienaar thing is all too good to be true, just imagine he didn't agree terms, then it would be back the same old negativity. Funny how one player can make fans think it's the difference between 4 league places, isn't it?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Have just heard that pienaar will sign tomorrow. Also we are in negotiations with inter over johnny heitinga. Man utd have offered 12m for Baines but we will only sell if they meet 18m value. Moyes has targeted Olsen from WBA as possible replacement for Johnny but could be difficult as he is due to sign new contract. Also belive we have made enquiries about signing Adam Johnson on loan and could bid for agbonlahor if he is made available

It amazes me how people can change so quickly, everyone started optimistic then lost faith in Moyes and kenright again and now everyone's happy again. I wish everyone would just back our great club and these posters that come on here just to belittle the club they claim to love need to pull their head in or don't bother posting because nobody wants to hear you talk about what teams are better than us! We are Everton and we are great and when we are in form and we all get behind the team we can beat anybody so let's all stay positive and supportive and show what makes us the best supporters of any club!

Anyway hopefully pienaar deal is all sorted and finalized today, Eds in your opinions what rumours do you believe to be the most likely out of them all?

Why does everyone seem to think that Pienaar is our saviour with a heroes return?
This is the guy who held a gun to our heads in order to follow the money
i think we have selective memory when it comes to certain players
He couldnt wait to leave us for the bright lights of Spurs where he was a very average player in a very average squad and he fell right into the trap set by Redknapp in order to de-rail our progress, now we worship the ground he walks on?? come on blues are we that desperate. I would rather see a couple of young lads with real passion & commitment have a go rather than this bible bashing, money grabbing prima donna
It feels that taditional support from Blues has wained somewhat and we are now thankful for anyone we can get regardless of how they have treated us in the past. What next Nick Barmby back as manager?
It's a sad state of affairs for us Blues. Shame on us!

Sorry for my language everyone but some posts are really starting to piss me off. Why so negative?!? We support a magnificent club. Yes we may not have billions to burn like Citteh, Utd, Chelski and the s***e but we have an owner who truly cares for his club and would die for us. If we were bought over I wouldn't want to do a City and buy our way to success. I want to see our team develop. Stop being so negative about our transfer activity and lighten up, Moyes ALWAYS prevails! We are on the verge of something special and it annoys me that people can't realise that. So come on lads, keep those chins up and lets look forward to next season.

Jay EFC

Believable5 Unbelievable3

The thing is Jay, Moyes ISNT going to be here forever!! I am sure Moyes is an ambitious man, he has a plan for Everton, but how long can he go with one hand tied behind his back? The only thing Kenwright has down right seemingly is getting in David Moyes (which wasn't his first preference mind you).

I really do fear for our club when Moyes leaves and Kenwright is still in charge, because realistically, and truthfully, if it weren't for Moyes, we would be plying our trade in the Championship, or maybe even lower.

Agree0 Disagree0

2nd post is not true - we're still getting 35000 in each home game - even when we were poor - so the wages for decent players would be there - so we should be between 9th and 6th - I mean who should be above us? West brom? Stoke? West Ham? Birmingam? Fulham? These are all medium sized clubs with journeymen players. We've won the league 4th most times at nine - so we have a rich history and good fan base - Moyes has done well though and looks like he';s on the verge of having a very good team front to back - I just wish Bill would spend 10 or 20 millions on players to give him a real chance - Bill is sitting on an unrealised profit of about 120m

Agree0 Disagree0

Who were Kenwright's preferances above Moyes?
Concerned Citizen

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes moyes wont be her forever. but he has laid a great platform for us in the future and i agree that we don't want to buy success. We are the peoples club with history and tradition values. so far we have had a good transfer window and the additions of pienaar and naismith at the expense of an aging tim cahill is a great piece of business. one more permanent signing and probably a loan signing with know one leaving would be a successful window.so please lets stop with negativity

Agree0 Disagree0

We are Everton FC! The club will always be bigger than any manager or player, would be sad to lose Moyes but EFC will carry on fighting, dont be foolish enough to think that losing a manager would spell the end to a fantastic club!! Rob Walker
