Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

30 Jan 2019 22:20:48
A bit of good news imo. Although B/ Mouth beat Chelsea 4-0 which puts them level on points with us their G/ Diff is still -5. Watford lost 2-1 after leading at Spurs so they stay below us on G/ Diff. And Leicester failed to overtake us after holding our neighbours to a 1-1 draw. So now if we beat Wolves on Saturday (far from easy) we move back into no7 :-)

{Ed025's Note - you have been listening to smit too much BigH.. :)

30 Jan 2019 22:42:45
The results have been kind to us. We do need to beat wolves though to give us a bit of breathing space to then draw with city 😉.

31 Jan 2019 06:58:08
Beating Wolves will be very difficult. They are the best newly promoted team I have seen since Swansea a few years back. They play good football and break with pace. We will need to be at our best, which I’ve not seen since Burnley.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they are a good side ace..

31 Jan 2019 08:37:25
I agree Toffee Ace, they are dangerous so I'm taking nothing for granted. I always try to think positive Ed025 but admit Smit's up-beat attitude helps when I'm struggling to. Anyway I always look at the teams around us esp who/ when they are playing and hope they lose lol.

This is like one of those horse races where one horse edges in front then another catches it and another behind that one suddenly makes a spurt forward. then the one that was in front has another go. I think its going to be down to the strongest squad and a few decisions from referees. We can achieve 7th for sure but we need some discipline and no more sending offs/ bans from bookings. It should be interesting and exciting. something that we never had last season! Thank you Everton and Marco Silva. To me this is a 1000 times better.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 11:55:19
Great analogy degsyp. We are more than capable of it if we can reproduce our early season form, but it is as you say going to be close.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 13:59:46
The other thing to consider is newly promoted teams are an unknown for the first half but pretty much sussed out in the second half so Wolves might have a poorer end to the season than how they started.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 14:11:27
Problem is our stable is top heavy with Donkeys.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 18:19:23
Wolves appear to be getting better instead of tailing off.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think so too DFS..

31 Jan 2019 19:48:18
If we can beat wolves it might knock the wind out of their sails.
I can see west ham dropping off towards the end of the season.
Same with Bournemouth, question is, can Watford sustain their form for the whole season.
Personally I see the fight for 7th between us, Leicester and wolves.

30 Jan 2019 19:12:34
I can’t believe how quick people are to change their opinions, Gomes was quality a few weeks back and worth £40m or one of the top four will hijack the deal.
Now he is slow and thankful he is only on loan.
Come on guys! Yes as a team we have had a bad run but surely we can see a player with his quality, we are supporters so support and encourage these players. Once the confidence is back we will see these players playing to the level we know they can. Same could be said for Richarlison.

The lad is quality and we need to sign him in the summer pal.

30 Jan 2019 19:39:44
I agree with Smit666. He's shown glimpses of what he can do within his first few games. He has somewhat lost his form though. As for loss of form well the whole team is guilty of that too.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 19:43:39
Agree with Smit and Howie there, hit the nail on the head.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 19:45:43
I like him stb and if he can recreate his early season form I think he'd be an asset. imho he needs a break and if he misses the games against Wolves and Man City and maybe Watford, that gives him just shy of 4 weeks before he comes back fighting fit for the games against against Cardiff and then Liverpool. Simples :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 20:57:41
Not worth investing in.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 21:12:43
The poor guy is knackered. I’ve said it many times, give him 2 weeks off and he’ll come back fresh and as good as he was a month ago.

30 Jan 2019 22:45:55
It is all about improving our starting 11 and if anybody thinks Gomes is worse than Schneids or Davies then I'm not sure what they have been watching.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree smit..

31 Jan 2019 11:06:16
Agree on the Schneids view but I have seen enough of Davies to know he has a great player in there. It is all about confidence with him and maturity. Maturity will come with age and confidence will grow. If you don't believe me look at the goal he scored against Man City again. He carried the ball from the edge of his own box, did a Cruyff flick inside. carried it to their box, laid it off. got barged over but got up again and when their keeper came out to dive at his feel he nonchalantly flicked it over him. If a Brazilian had scored it, we would all still be seeing it on TV now. Yes there is a player in there that Allardyce had in the team that couldn't register a shot on target for 5 consecutive games. Davies was 18/ 19 years old and looked like a frightened rabbit in headlights and non of the senior players had the ability to protect and help him. I suggest we judge him in another 2 seasons. When he is the ripe old age of 22!

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 14:16:41
Agree with toffee, Gomes appears to be shattered. Thing is though these lads have all sorts of live stats monitoring going on. If the Club detect problems are they stupid enough to risk a player. This side is not in danger of relegation, ergo no need for risk.

So Marco threatening to resign In my opinion let him go Put Unsy in until the end of season and review where we are and who's available at the end of the season.

Behave baz. Unsworth was woeful last time he managed us.

Cmon Baz mate you must have a bad memory after what happened when Rhino was in charge lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 19:06:08
If Marco does go what other options realistically would we have at this time of the season?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - unsworth i suspect BAZ..

30 Jan 2019 19:36:02
Let him go he can't and won't hold this club to ransom its bigger than him and the players.
Ppl may disagree but if give the job to Jose he has a point to prove and efc could very well be the perfect base camp.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 19:56:02
I'd like to think he'd say yes because he loves Everton but after last time he may be slightly apprehensive. Then again maybe he'd do a better job this time round? Who knows? I think the idea that Silva is going to resign over the potential loss of Gueye is complete and utter drivel anyway.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 23:27:07
Unsworth's premiership record was 2 wins 2 defeats and 1 draw. Took us from relegation placing to 13th.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 07:07:20
Absolute folly suggesting Silva is going to resign. But think it's a bit harsh hammering/ mocking unsworth about last season. he inherited a complete mess and in my opinion was starting to turn things round when we brought gravy chops in.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2019 11:12:39
Absolutely Wavey. 2 wins, 2 defeats and a draw after what had been served up previously. It was a blink of an eye and he did ok.

Last nights game turned out okay in the end despite Digne getting his marching orders, and although it wasn't overly exciting I did like the way we pressed and pressured them when we didn't have possession. You can tell why they are at the bottom of the league, as apart from Mooy and maybe 2 others they offered very little. Yeah, they got a couple of decent saves out of Pickford but they never really looked like scoring a goal. A few people have moaned about Gomez and Siggs lack of effort and I kind of agree. Maybe they should be dropped/ rested for a couple of games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Jan 2019 15:14:11
Siggi actually won 7 tackles last night, the most in the team. However that was more than his previous 5 added together. Maybe the cup defeat has been a wake up call for the players and manager as there seemed a lot more urgency last night.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a bit more urgency rick but still very pedestrian compared to the better teams, our players dont seem to ever want to beat a man and its all about passing which is either negative or breaks down very easily, i think we are awful to watch compared with the start we made mate and are playing like we are scared to make a mistake and have very little confidence..

30 Jan 2019 15:38:06
Nice to get the 3pts, but let's be honest, it was rubbish.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 16:06:35
I agree ed, we are very good at putting 12 passes together and ending up back where we started. city and the reds do that too but then put in a killer pass that causes havoc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats what im saying rick, a lot of backward and sideways stuff but no real cutting edge mate..

30 Jan 2019 16:46:03
As has been said many times before ricktee it's a game of opinions, and whilst I respect yours Siggs has been a virtual passenger at times for weeks now, and Gomez hasn't been much better either. So he may have made a massive 7 tackles, big whoop, isn't that part of his job as a footballer? What about the countless times he doesn't tackle and hopes someone else will? I like him. He can be a great player. He just seems to be missing something lately, and that's down to the general lethargy around the place that needs sorting out pronto. As someone else said they seem scared of making mistakes, so maybe the club Psychologist/ s need to start earning their wedge.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes a bit of a luxury player for me BigH, fine in a side thats playing well and with grafters around him, but he is struggling at the moment and there is not a lot around him to facilitate that mate..

30 Jan 2019 17:12:37
As others have said we are missing a leader. A general. Even if Big Dunc got of his a** once in a while and bawled at a few of them it might gee some of them up. Or if Silva showed half the passion from the sidelines that Klippity does it may make a difference. The only one who seems to do any shouting imo is Pickford, and that's often after he's made an error lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 17:41:00
Remember when we said couldn't have Siggy and Rooney on the same pitch. Fast forward (not so fast) to Siggy and Gomez. Gomes is not the same player that started, good job he is on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think hes a good player DFS, but he has lost his way recently..

30 Jan 2019 18:47:50
Maybe it's sigs.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 19:22:00
Side to side and backwards passing is just this teams default setting when things are going badly. We've seen it with the last 3 managers.
Silva will need time to squeeze that out of them.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 10:22:25
Better last night, not brilliant, but definitely better. A lot of players put a shift in last night and showed some fight and determination.

Thought Tom Davies has a really good game, as did Tosun and Zouma. All deserve a run in the side now. Defence looked a lot more solid with baines on the pitch too, shame ha got injured.

They would never sell now but if huddersfield wer to go down would anyone take mooy? I think he's been consistently good player for 2 years now he ran the game when he came on yesterday and that's after 8 games out, personally think he could be an option if we don't sign gomes who needs to improve between now and summer if he wants to move to us.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - always liked him johny, he wont be staying at huddersfield hes far too good for them, we have been linked to him before and he would be a really solid buy for us mate..
