Shock horror. We lost a game. Remember a few seasons ago when we would lose regular and it would be taken as the norm. Just shows we set ourselves bigger expectations without thinking we have the right to be in the top 4. Take note the deluded rs.

looking back to saterday gibsons loss changed it but we cant be relying on 1 player, some things to concider, we need stronger attacking down the right its to predictable as most attacks down the left, I think moralis or coleman on the right with naismith behind jelavic, and fellaini should be switching back and forth with 1 of the midfeilders like he did with cahill towards the end of last season it makes fellaini harder to mark, the new signings should give more options but we need more variety or other managers will suss us out I,m sure moyes will sort it out in time to beat nc its still going to be a great season. coyb. thgfest

Please have a look at the RS banter page. They are turning on everyone - the board, the manager and they are also totally slating the captain. Priceless.

Erm wtf how can me trying not to laugh cos the RS are losing and not wanting to irritate the misses as she's a red and a big red went to Paris and Rome back in the day when they did have a team, and making a light hearted remark that she'd give my dinner to the dog be 1990 s stereotyping get a f....life, when did these "banter pages" become politically correct?

I am not bitter, I married a red, I support Jft96, I refuse to buy or read that rag that purports to be a national newspaper, I don't go on you pages and make disparaging comments about your posters, or constantly click the negative option, in fact I have never been on your pages because I don't care what you've got to say about you little club.

What I post on the Everton banter page is banter for Evertonians if you don't like what you read on here why do you bother coming on here?

Possibly because there is nothing to say about your little club.

Crawl back into you hole chew on your own liver because it's you that is bitter.

If you insist on coming on here at least have the courage to leave a name and nail your colours to your mast.

I am a blue and proud

Did anyone notice on transfer deadline day.....everytime they went to analfield all the little kids leaning on the reporter's back and pushing and shoving and screaming whilst he asked them repeatedly to shut up? Then when they went to Goodison....our well behaved loyal supporters biting their lips in anticipation.....but waiting for the reporter to finish the report and then to say,"alright lads, show your support".....and then the cheering began. That summed up the two sets of supporters for me.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Agree. Poor Vinnie was in a right mess trying to keep those kids from taking over. Loved to have seen their faces when they went home with nothing

Yeah. I remember that. Even Stoke fans wasn't screaming like the RS.

One thing I found funny was at Spurs. Just before they returned to the studio the reporter said about Spurs needing another striker, and the fans agrred with him... then during the noise from the fans, a fan shouted "HESKEY!" - yes, I know it's old but it was hilarious at the time.

Shame about yesterday's result, but I think we can take positives.

1. First half, West Brom as the home side sat back and allowed us to have the ball. Inferior sides usually do this against better sides. We command that respect.

2. We played pretty badly, everybody had a bit of an off day, and yet up until their goal, we looked in control.

3. We lost with Moyes making attacking changes to try and win the game, he was not settling for a point, which is a gripe we have had previously.

4. We have the luxury of debating changes to our next line up. We finally have a squad.

Negatives of course, but we can let the manager worry about them. 2 weeks to sort out what went wrong in front of goal.

Goals change games and if felleni would of scored just before long did we probably would of won but I would of took 6 points from first 3 games Arsenal are still unbeaten and they have 5 pts it was a tricky game as WBA are a good side

I thought Hibbert and Distan were at fault for the first goal. I also thought moving Fellaini back to holding midfield when Mirrallas came on was what changed the game. We lost our attacking threat then. Moyes basically said he made a mistake in trying to chase the game. I think it was more the fact our attacking threat disappeared when Felli dropped back. Jelly was out of sorts all game. As long as we pick ourselves up and go on another good run, we are in a decent position. Come on you blues!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Fellaini was having an off day where ever he was playing. He was muscled out by McAuley and Olsson and was not offering his usual threat. Losing Gibson early was pivotal because with Neville and Osman in midfield we could neither provide cover for the back four or create anything in an attacking sense.
That's why it was vital we signed Vadis and Ovieda to provide power and skill in the midfield area.
The squad looks must stronger as a result.
We were tactically out thought by Clarke and didn't have the resources to re-adapt to counter!

Fancy Smith

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think you can blame Jelavic, he was up against two very big centre backs and didn't have any close support. They played well and hustled our creative players out of the game.

Vs Newcastle I would hope Moyes would make 3 changes (Neville, Distin and Osman)
Not because of one result but just to change the approach a bit, nothing to do with them 3 playing poorly just a little change give them a rest and bring them back in later)

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Naismith Gibson Fellaini Pienaar

Mirallas
Jelavic

Pace, creativity and goals and solid back 4.

Newcastle wouldn't be able to cope

Hi Eds is there anything wrong in my last post saying where you can view the games live? I notice it had not appeared. I saw the game yesterday great quality stream from the USA at half time they show all the goals from the other games from the first half. After the game I sent a well done from me to the West Brom Banter page, but it has not been updated since the 30th Sept. Just shows how lucky we are with our great Eds, keep up your brilliant work.

Right some people will disagree with me but i don't think playing fellaini up top behind jelavic is the right position. Id prefer him in centre midfield with gibson and push naismith or mirallas up top to support jelavic. Just my opinion

I agree we should only put Fellaini behind teams such as man united, city, Chelsea and Arsenal to bully there defence.

very rarely will i watch any highlights whenever we get beat it gets me down listening to the smug comments of so called experts who take great pleasure and cant resist sniping and picking away at our club.perhaps its cos were not so media friendly as our rs neighbours who take up more viewing time on a website channels than the champions of the premier league over the last decade and more.even that red rag the echo is the same if weve played the night before or like lately sign someone you can put your house on it the back page of the red echo will be all about the rs.anyway lads im no expert on tactics but our defending for both goals yesterday was awful.can anyone remember the last time we conceeded a goal from a corner? it just doesnt happen.just an off day at the office lads which luckily dont come along to often.coyb. jimmy {Ed025's Note - Good post that jimbo..

I am happy to see that after one loss we aren't all slating the team. Yes, it was painful to lose our unbeaten run to a West Brom side, but let's face it, they're having some brilliant times with some nice football and are full of confidence. At this stage of the season, teams like West Brom and some lower teams do have a 3 or 4 game flow of good results at the start of the season, and after 10 games we will see if we are going to push on further than last season, and 10 games will also test your West Broms, etc. Because we are better than these teams and the fact that will show it is when we keep our results more consistent (which will see us make the top 6, 5 or even 4 - and your West Broms, etc, start to drop off).

Anyway, although the result today was dissapointing, every setback comes with positives which you build on. First off, the stats. We had more possession along with a better pass completion rate. Shots wasn't with us, but every team has different tactics and today West Brom did their very best to combat ours and, although it won't always work for the opposition, it worked for West Brom today. And you have to bear in mind that yesterday was a very weird day for the team. As Moyes was away all day sorting transfers out, meaning he couldn't perpare for the match with the team as he normally would do, which causes a bit of uncertainty and unsettles us slightly. But it won't be like that for the rest of the season (apart from January's window, but that might not happen as I haven't looked at out schedule then). It's back to normal in terms of preparation from now on, this weekend was a one off due to Moyes strengthening our squad further.

However, our next match is in 2 weeks' time and 2 days. That give us time to work on the problems of today, and also gives players like Mirallas more match fitness by playing in the international break. Today was a very good performance by the team. So let's just put it down to a bad day at the office. Fellaini missed a good chance but everyone makes mistakes - and the reason it should be classed as a bad day at the office is because we normally do more good than bad. Now we forget about this result and still be proud of our performance. Also don't forget we have a few more players to work with for our next match.
