Just don't get all this Gerry nonsence! have him back in a heartbeat, hope its true about him! Really does anyone have a memory of him other than scoring that goal v Arsenal. Rest of the time he was either injured, ran as fast as he could with the ball then nothing, went in n out n no where else, ohhh n how about passing the ball? not a clue, play as part of the team? no chance. Seriously, he was a bit part player, was rubbish when he started a game and was always subbed for doing FA. Best we saw was if he came on last 10-15 minutes. Even McGeady has done that!! C'mon Blues come up with a better option than this to come to the club, even Seille Manager said off the training pitch he's useless in a game.

I agree to an extent Howie. He always seemed to pick the wrong option the majority of the time, was too selfish at times and none of his team mates seemed to know what he was going to do. As you say, he was more influential coming off the bench.
I've read a few things from the Seville manager and his verdict doesn't fill me with confidence. If good was to join he would have to show that bit of maturity that has been missing from his game, he needs to listen to the people who are trying to teach him how to be a better player. I would take him on loan again as he can hit the ground running, he has already had his bedding in period with us. We have limited options on the wing so he would improve the squad, I just hope he will, in football terms, grow up a bit

The reason people want him is because he has a nice fancy sounding name. Look how exotic it looks.

In his 10 league games he's started this season he's scored 1 and had 5 assists.

In total this season he's had 3 goals and 9 assists.

That is the same as this lot put together:

Aaron Lennon goals 2 assists 2
Christian Atsu Goals 0 assists 1
Steven Pienaar goals 0 assists 2
Aiden Mcgeady goals 1 assists 4

Total goals 3 assists 9

So yeah, I'd have him.

Sorry if this is a long post. can't believe we have opened talks with cleverley. At the end of this season surely the management team sat down and looked back on what went wrong supposing that they think this season was rubbish. Lack of creativity in midfield perhaps a lack of service to lukaku maybe not enough goals from midfield. If a new centre mid is going to be bought surely it has to be a player who can ay a defence splitting pass and move the play forward. Signing cleverley is to sign another centre mid with limited passing range a lack of goals and who finished in a team who just avoided relegation. Not to mention that he had a shocker in the fa cup final. Either it is poor judgement by martinez or the fact that he is free and this fits well with the clubs ambitions. Next transfer target appears to be scott dann who in fairness has had a good season but I can't see him getting in ahead of jags or stones but would be a better replacement than alcaraz if not too much money wanted for him could be an okay signing but nothing to be excited over. Johnny evans and tyler blackett. Why why why. Why would we send galloway and browning out on loan and loan in blackett that would make no sense and is probably a load of rubbish as for johnny evans he again would be a better backup than alcaraz but would not want him coming to the club. Surely he must now look at the squad and see what we are missing. Even if we only brought in 3 players if they were the right 3 players they could make a huge difference. Sell kone or let him go and bring in austin or ings. Austin would cost 10 to 15 million. I would play him and lukaku upfront in a 442 probably a diamond midfield. immediately you have a strike force who can score 30 goals a season between them. With naismith coming off the bench we have options upfront and cover for injuries. Out wide will depend on if mirallas stays. If he stays although he is selfish and shoots his mouth off he does provide about 10 goals a season. If he stays I would sign lennon or delefeu. If he goes I would try and buy both. With mirallas austin lukaku and naismith there are goals in that team. I wouldn't mess too much with our defence a cover centre back probably is needed and although I didn't like the rumour about dann he may be an okay signing if not spectacular. The tactics have been the problem at the back and need addressing over the summer. Mccarthy would be my deep lying midfield in a diamond. The big decision is around barkley and whether he can play number 10 I would give him another season to prove how good he is with naismith being able to cover if he doent improve. I know some people don't think barkley will make it but I reckon he will come good my doubt is whether it will he with us or elsewhere. I suppose the decision on barkley will be made if and when a big offer comes in for him, if that bid is big enough then the money could be invested for a replacement number 10 and used to strengthen the squad. In goal I would give joel a chance with howard there if things don't work out and the chance to strengthen in january or next summer. In summer 16 pienaar osman gibson kone hibbert will all be out of contract and they will probably stay at the club next season and see out those contracts. Sad to say but it looks like garbutt is gone.

Are we really linked to anyone, or as I suspect, people are guessing, rm is better than that, we will sell, if its Barklay, Mirales, Lukaku, he will have money to spend, who we buy, speculation, don't get down on him till we know COYB

{Ed025's Note - we did last year wakka, but his wages were off-putting mate, i cant see it being any different now mate..can you?..

02 Jun 2015 16:10:39
Ed025 I Just feel if he is opting for the reds what more can they offer other than the EL and I'm sure that's not so impressive to a mans who's played CL last few years.
He would probably have a more senior role at Everton as well.
He suits our ethics, works hard, tracks back can provide quality and as an international would cost £15m plus to buy.

{Ed025's Note - its not so much the fee as the wages wakka, last big pay day and all that mate..

He will get 150k a week with them, 75k off us, money talks buddy

I'm going to go on the Metallica theme here cause I am bored.

Beauty is in the "Eye of the Beholder" as the "Master of Puppets" wants to bring in Cleverley, Dann, Evans and who ever else is a has been or a spud. Each transfer period seems like we cop "The Shortest Straw". Our "Disposable Heroes" like Coleman, Stones, Baines, McCarthy are always linked to other clubs. Why can't McgeAdy, Barry, Alcaraz and Kone be linked "it's sad but true". "The thing that should not be" Martinez has done so much "Damage" that if the board don't sack him soon we could very seriously "Fade to Black" Right now I am so angry with Martinez to I would Nearly "Welcome Home" David Moyes. In finishing I feel like we cannot "fight fire with fire" with any big club and I feel that we are closer to our own "Creeping Death". To me "Nothing Else Matters" except for the Mighty Toffees.

Well cleverley is in advanced talks now, obviously were going to sign him, were will he play?
Barry and mcarthy, barry cleverley, cleverley McCarthy.
I don't see what he brings that we haven't got.
But I'm a blue and will support him whole heartedly.
Hopefully he isn't seen as the playmaker we need, myself I'd break the bank for carzola!

Genuinely over the moon with this. Hope we don't mess this up. I'd make him Captain. The man has got the lot, team has to be built around Clevs.

He is such a marketable player as well. One of the few genuine superstars of the game. He should be the new face of the club, with his model good looks and a physique like a Greek God.

Get it done Roberto and we will put that mural back up for you.

Mirallas has said he wants out, because the manager broke promises.

Garbutt is leaving, because the manager didn't play him.

Jimmy Mac is unsettled (apparently)

And now Lukaku has come out and said that he has told the manager he doesn't want to play on the wing (RM the tactical genius). Also, he want CL footy.

Cant blame any of them myself if i'm honest. If I was at a club going backwards, I'd fancy a fresh start.

The stubbornness of the Manager is costing us some really good players (Some of the best I've seen at everton in a while). I can even see besic out the door, because gaz baz is RM's bessie. I would like to see some spine from the board, but that ain't happening. Understand BK is ill or something, but someone should step up and decide that the main task is to improve everton. Not take us backwards.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Am peed off. I honestly miss Moyes (I KNOW). didn't like how he bottled games and stuff, hated it infact, but by god if there was someone who could control a dressing room it was him. RM is a joke. Trying to please everyone, but still falling out with people. Very frustrating. I love Everton, but the manager is making me hate the way we play, and the players we have don't show the passion I've seen in others.

Le Straq wasnt the best of players, but he tried harder than the likes of Mirallas, Ross and Barry. But who can blame them for playing bad, if the managers tactics don't suit them.

Frustration Kicking in. Scouse agro about to show. going to go knock down a food stall or something. What do use think?

I was going to mention something about Lukaku until I read the above post. I'm not a RM fan but both Lukaku and Mirallas must look deep into themselves and long and hard in the mirror. KM causes discord within the ranks on almost a weekly basis, wrong attitude and actually thinks he is a world beater. Well he can't even get a consistent start in a so called "average" team. Lukaku thinks he is the big fish in a small pond. Really?? he was outperformed in my humble opinion by Macca, Stones and even Jags. Wants to win titles then show us how good you think you are. Sorry for the rant but getting really tired of these 2.

02 Jun 2015 14:27:23
Haha, made me laugh that 247. SA, I agree, but if a manager is messing you about, aren't you going to get unsettled. Agree KM should shut his trap, but still think the main problem lies with the manager.

{Ed025's Note - both of them need to keep it shut for me QB..

So Daily Fail reporting McCarthy is now considering his future as promises about a new contract reportedly weren't kept, apparently he is becoming frustrated after several other players have opened talks about extending or being offered new ones.
WTF is going on at the club!
