I remember us being linked with Yannick Djalo, i read on the bbc that he is available on a free transfer because FIFA wont accept his transfer from sporting lisbon to Nice, why dont we go after him he wont cost anything?

Anyone else watch the Euro 2012 draw? Ireland have a tough group with Spain, Italy and Croatia :(
And, as usual, England get a piss easy group. The draws for these tournaments are obviously fixed, England always get piss easy groups.
The only good thing is that they always play useless and get knocked out. Then they blame someone else for it like the ref or a player on a different team.

Breeno {Ed025's Note - sounds like your an irishman breeno...lol

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ya I am Irish and you have to admit, England do always get easy groups.

Breeno {Ed025's Note - im english, but i hate watching them!, i dont know that we get easy groups, but the seedings help...and good luck to the irish

Eds, do ye run every one of the rumour/banter pages? Also how many of ye are they?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - there are about 20 breeno...most can, and do,edit lots of other teams, there is only 1 that i am not allowed to edit...for obvious reasons

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So you would be Ed025 on every other site. It must take alot of time to go through every bit of banter and take out stuff that dosen't belong. Is this your job or do you just do it as a pastime?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - i concentrate on everton, because they are my club, at this time of year the site is not that busy, unlike when there is a transfer window, when it is hectic!...also it is a pastime, which we do for the love of the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

Your doing a great job ed we are all proud of you mate!
Toffeeboyjoe {Ed025's Note - cheers joe...

Agree1 Disagree0

Do ye get a bit of money from it because there are some ads on the pages?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - no mate the site owners do, but not the eds. we dont do it for money...its a labour of love..

Agree0 Disagree0

Just like our blue boys... earn nothing compared to these big names. Just do it for the love of it... {Ed025's Note - lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you thought of the possibility of setting up a Euro 2012 banter page? Maybe even do one for England and Ireland, if there are alot of Irish people posting.
You could start it earlier than next year as we could talk about who should make the Irish/English squads. Just a suggestion Ed, what ya think? Also would anyone else want the Ed's to set up a page/pages like that?

Breeno {Ed003's Note - I'll pass the idea on Breeno }

Kenwright has been searching for investment at Goodison Park for several years, and has acknowledged a missed opportunity when the mega rich sheikhs of Abu Dhabi headed to Manchester City.

The scale of the financial pressures Everton are under are laid bare with each set of accounts. But despite recent unrest from fans, Kenwright is adamant Everton supporters would still prefer he remain than risk a new owner who might pile more debt on the club.

"Maybe there's a downside to having a chairman who is a football fan," Kenwright said in a BBC interview. "We lose £4-5 million a year; that's a lot of money, that's a player to David Moyes.

"I think Evertonians would rather stay with me, with all my drawbacks, if they knew that a potential new owner would saddle the club with debt."

Everton fans are bewildered that rich owners have snubbed Goodison, while the likes of Manchester City reap dividends. The reason for that is the stadium, or lack of it, as Everton struggle with their ageing arena.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Kenwright virtualy blamed the fans for not getting project kirkby accepted he said in his interview man citys buyers could have bought everton but never said how much for. Forget about the ground do you think somebody as rich as mansour was worried about a ground he must have seen the top 5 finishes a top 4 finish with no money a fa cup final 40,000 gates yet he chose man city s**t team s**t league placing no finals since 1980 yet soft s**te tells us it could have been us. Once mansour met him if i doubt he ever did no wonder he f****d off to buy city maybe dickhead kenwright showed him the way to the m62 (just like johnson with nigel martyn) dont believe a word the lying b**tard says

Right let's look at all these amazingly successful takeovers by blokes with seemingly bottomless pockets of cash!
Some success's:
Man u : glazers. Already champions of eng, euro, world etc not sure they count and look at the debt on the club.
Chelsea: fair enough!
City: lucky b######s so far.
Red s**te: nearly bankrupt with 1st lot now they have only spent Torres money.
Not so succesful takeovers
Villa
Birmingham
Blackburn
Leeds
Portsmouth: who'd want to be tthem right now?
Newcastle: good run since sept but investment hasn't happened, relegation yes!
West ham: icelandic bloke went bust and nearly took club with him. Took over by kings of porn!
Sunderland: American who's spent a bit and got nowhere.
There's probably some I've missed but the point is calm down. Do you really think bk wants to sell to the nxt businessman out of his depth that bankrupts the club? Is that the legacy bk wants. You think you hate him now, imagine if he was responsible for the nxt owner killing the club.

Don't see the point in people saying who will come and go for x amount in January. I hope we bring in a new striker but let's be real, probably be a loaned striker no one has heard of without any pace.
So til then, let's get behind the team and get the 3 points Sunday!! COYB!!

I think Moyes is going to have to have a very good search in January with the funds he gets for cheap quality i.e Kranjcar, Rochina, Rodallega, Seb Larsson(unlikely) and plus 1 or 2 loan deals like Donovan or Macheda like he did with Arteta and Cahill we got them both for 3.5m if he can find some deals like this it would be good but i do want to see at least 1 known player come in.

02 Dec 2011 15:05:52
why doesn't Moyes try Saha 'in the hole' behind Vellios up front?
Saha spends most of his time outside the box anyway, trying to get some of the ball, and is absent from the box when crosses often come in - he's got good foot skills, prety good vision and links well with others - so why not play him in a roaming role there - I'd rather have him playing there than Cahill.

Apparently that Djalo who used to be at Sporting is going villa on a free. Correct me if i am wrong Ed but i thought we were after him a couple of seasons ago but as per usual we had no funds, now when he's available for nowt we havent tried to sign him when we have no strikers who can score. Baffles me

Cheeks {Ed002's Note - He has been unable to play this season as his tranfer was not completed in time and was one of a couple of players left stuck between two clubs. I understand it will like be a loan to start with whilst paperwork is figured out. I don't recall who was interested in him in the past.}

Squad after Jan:

GK. Howard/Hannehman/Mucha
RB. Onouha/Coleman/Hibbert/Neville
CB. Jagielka/Distin/Onouha
LB. Baines/Drenthe
RM. Coleman/Gueye/Rochina
CM. Fellaini/Rodwell/Barkley/Osman
LM. Drenthe/Mcfadden/Hoilett
CAM. Cahill/Kranjcar
ST. De Jong/Saha/Vellios/Anichebe/Denis

Outs in Jan and from summer:
Bilyaletdinov - 5m
Heitinga - 5m
Yakubu - 1.5m
Vaughan - 2m
Beckford - 3m
Arteta - 10m
plus Pienaar - 3m
TOTAL - 29.5m

Ins:
Onouha - 2m
Rochina - 1.5m
Hoilett - 4m (contract ends in 2012)
Kranjcar - short loan with view to buy
Drenthe - 2m (i no hes out of contract in the summer but if we get it done now it means he wont be a free agent in the summer with other teams going for him)
Luuk De Jong - 6m
TOTAL - 15.5... 29.5m-15.5m = 14m going to the bank COYB... go on a run in the FA cup and bring in Kranjcar on a permanent deal with the money we get from the cup {Ed025's Note - its very well thought out mate, i would like kranjcar, but to get hoilett and de jong, we would have to join the bidding war, and alas we will probably lose out..

Plus Ed, this somewhat short-sighted fan seems to have forgotten the fact that practically all of the incoming transfer fees went straight to the bank. Additionally, I'm led to believe there is only enough of the Arteta fee left to cover a couple of loan signings. I don't see Heitinga leaving while doubts surround the fitness of Distin and Moyes went on record as recently as Tuesday stating how well he thought Bily had adapted and complimenting the guy's commitment (yes, he may well be bigging him up to enhance a transfer fee) but I fully expect any incoming transfers to be minimal and short term loans.

Agree0 Disagree0

We arent going to have all that money to spend. FACT. I do think we will have enough money for a forward. I watched the Fulham match last night and that De Jong looked pretty good. Whether we could buy him for £5-6m is up for argument. I would certainly like Onouha as i think City would except a couple of million to get him off their wage bill. Play him right back and then move him into the centre when Distin's legs go in the next couple of years. I also think you have a good point with buying Drenthe for a couple of million to keep him out the clutches of other teams. Rochina has really impressed me this season, but i think he is worth more than £1.5million quid. Hoilett no chance, Arry is interested apparently so no chance. Apart from that loan signings i am afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

They bought Rochina for 1.5m which i didn't no i thought it was for about 0.5m so ye 1.5m wouldn't be enough well we could try and get him on loan and wait to see if blackburn go down then the fee could be around 1.5-2m but they may want to keep him to try and keep them up... Just cant wait to see who we bring in not bothered who it is just wana see some new faces from the original poster COYB

Two things!

1) £2,931,127.10 - The amount Everton spent on agent fees between October 2010 - September 2011. mmmhhh - How many players have we signed for a fee. I know agents deal with frees and loans and new contracts but Sunderland spent £3,735,384.29 and they bought half the Man U squad! Clearly not managing are money very wisely and spending more on agents than on players!! (source - BBC website)

2) Have a butchers at the current Premier League Table. Be honest to yourself, apart from Aston villa and the freakish Newcastle, all the other teams have superior squads to our own, both by numbers and talent. I think we are fairly placed in the league at present and if we maintain this level then we will have done well. I cannot see how we can challenge for european football with the current strength of our squad when the inevitable injuries occur.

Anyone else reckon that Coleman does an ok job on the right wing but he is a right back, do you think apart from a striker and playmaker, we should target a right winger. Donovan on loan will be a short term solution but we need a full time replacement.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think ruben rochina from blackburn would be a good shout would only cost around 1-2 million he is young and im sure he can play on the right am i right in saying that ED? {Ed025's Note - dont really know him mate..

What's the score with all these strikers were interested in, djalo, Luke de Jong, Defoe, pavleychenko? Views ed? {Ed003's Note - highly unlikely}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

BBC Sport announced that Djalo's transfer has not been ratified by FIFA so he is free to leave. Villa have been linked. I know next to nothing about this guy but know he is rated. {Ed002's Note - I understand a loan has been agreed subject to figuring out the paperwork.}
