Williams is just away season long loan that's the end of his blues career just never worked out for him.

{Ed025's Note - or us billy..

02 Aug 2018 20:51:48
So another CB gone it would suggest we have one lined up to come in. Pretty sure they would move another on unless they are extremely confident one is soon to be announced.

02 Aug 2018 20:59:18
Currently 1st team cbs are jags and holgate. surely there must be two more coming in. unless they see Pennington as a 4th choice?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i expect at least one to come in jcl..

02 Aug 2018 21:15:31
My gut tells me one. I forgot about Keane as well ed.

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could mate.. :)

He's an enigma that boy. Burnley fans rave about him.

02 Aug 2018 21:33:00
If they love him so much JCL can we sell him back to them?

Don't understand the outcry about Silva not fancying Vlasic. We have been crying out for a strong manager who will make the hard decisions. Now we have one, and if he believes he is not good enough then he's not good enough.
Silva sees these guys every training session, he knows what he is looking for and if they don't fit then they don't fit.
Let me ask you this, would Vlasic get in a top four side? No. But that's what we aspire to, so I fully support what Silva is trying to do. And about bloody time.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i like his style as well woburn..

02 Aug 2018 20:35:25
Totally agree I think a lack of seeing him play clouds people's judgement i can't remember anything he's done to suggest he should be starting or playing regularly he didn't exactly take the sparse opportunities he got it is the same with bolasie he was awfull before his bad injury yet whilst he was out he's quite good on social media and he was som3how transformed into being a world beater without playing he comes back from injury and his performances have been on par with what they were before.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 20:57:36
I wanted Silva over a year ago, like how he gets involved with the training, if Silva sees nothing in Vlasic then that’s good enough with me.

He works with the players and gets involved with the training so I will take Silva word for it.

He has already sussed Cuca, Williams and Miralles out.

Schnids must be showing something for him not to be in the mix with players training alone.

I agree folks but I’m going to be honest I’ve watched all but one of pre-season and went to Bury and Blackburn. NV has done no less than Sandro Ramirez or Tom Davies in pre-season. Factor in his age and the fact he is foreign . then Why on Earth has TD survived the cull along with SR?
Don’t get me wrong I want them all to succeed!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - basically blu pre season is more of a fitness test than a gauge of how good you are, tom has shown that the ability is there but he needs to toughen up a bit for me but he has certainly shown more than NV thats for sure, sandro is an enigma and even though i was desperate for him to do well he never fails to disappoint mate..

02 Aug 2018 22:45:08
I know Ed, it’s such a shame with SR, I’m beginning to think our No 9 shirt is cursed! (Don’t mention Voodoo) . The TD is a strange one as he isn’t a holding midfielder, he doesn’t support the attack, hasn’t got a ‘dig’ on him, doesn’t run with the ball and doesn’t have a turn of pace. Does anyone actually know where he fits and what position? I’ve watched Dowell and ability aside I get his ‘position’ What you think Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i happen to like tom blu, can frustrate the hell out of me at times but i feel there is a player there mate..

03 Aug 2018 00:38:25
Cheers Blue1, just about finished doing the highland fling with offloading Williams, only for you to remind me about Sandro.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2018 09:21:02
Tom Davies is only just 20 years old. He broke into a team doing ok but then the team went through a very poor spell and had changes of manager etc. I see him as the box to box midfielder we all crave. To say he has no pace is wrong. Remember the goal against Man City when he 1st broke through? He had pace then. I think it was just too much for a young boy and he suffered 2nd season syndrome last season. He will bounce back. He has quality but not yet experience. That will come.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2018 11:45:06
Age and confidence brings composure. That's what he needs. He's going to be a great player because of his work rate and attitude but not for 2 or 3 years yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 18:26:26
With FFplay in place and the recent spending we’ve made, do you think we are still in the market for buying Ed or do you reckon it is more likely to be loans now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Not a subject for discussion on the Everton page any longer.}

02 Aug 2018 20:10:58
For what it’s bluereason I think we will buy a couple more and maybe a couple of deadline day loans, will definitely be buying a cb and possibly a midfielder, would like to think we will get another attacking player aswell, but no one really knows who we are are after, not long to wait though 😀.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 20:16:44
Honest blue I love reading about ffp on here as personally I have no idea and it baffles me but trust me it's better looking at internet are trying to ignore it as all ways it drops into silly arguments and just ends up leaving a bad taste on the site I think it's something that with only a little bit of knowledge it gets twisted and is best to stay clear of financial discussions.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 20:56:10
To be fair the poster wasn’t really asking for a ffp discussion just an opinion on if we will buy or just loan.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 20:03:19
and why is that ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 20:13:33
Sorry ed2. But don't let one person stop you from giving us 'normal' bluenoses the information we crave.

{Ed002's Note - Not worth the grief,}

02 Aug 2018 23:39:05
In short Bluereason, you can’t spend more than you earn (you can go over by about 4 million quid) in a season. TV rights money mean English clubs have a lot more to spend than most clubs. Teams with bigger gate receipts increase their allowance to spend on transfers and wages etc.
Infrastructure is not included - do the new ground had no bearing on FFP for Everton. So, decreasing our wage bill was essential. Getting rid of Rooney, Mori, Williams, Klassen, Mirralis, Robles and a few more should help us bring a couple more in. Failure to adhere to FFP rules can be very serious. QPR just negotiated a huge pay off to FIFA. It can result in transfer bans, points deductions and even exclusion from competitions.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 18:01:17
I think not getting rid of Sneid is a big mistake. I think getting rid of Vlasic would be a mistake, on a permenant basis at least.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

02 Aug 2018 18:19:28
My take on it is, if we can get Schneiderlin performing well like we know he can (and who is a good player on his day) then I'd say keep him. If we get last seasons performances bar a few games from him then I can see the fans getting disgruntled with him early on and calling for him to ply his trade elsewhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 19:25:00
I don't think he fits Silvas brief even when performing. We need someone who is all action, box to box. Schneids is great at picking a pass and breaking up play but he is too defensive to play with Gana. If push comes to shove I'd have to pick Gana 1st.

Agree4 Disagree1

02 Aug 2018 19:50:41
Smit for once I am 100% in agreement with you mate. Gana is great at breking things up but not so good going forward. But still better than Schneids based on last seasons performances.

02 Aug 2018 20:17:32
Just need to trust in Silva on this I think he's all ready demonstrating he knows exactly what he wants.

02 Aug 2018 21:49:42
When you said 'released', I thought for a minute he'd actually been released from his contract, although that could surely only have happened in very serious circumstances. They may be willing to sell him, but he'll have much better offers. Shame. Good player and exactly what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 17:24:53
Burnley have made a £12 million bid for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson on Sky Sports News just now. That could be another alleged transfer target off to another club. Depending on the Aberdeen result they could offer him Europa league action.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2018 18:05:22
Jesus, if we can get him for 12 million, just buy him.
Williams cost 12 mill.

I would say definitely yes but don't think he would be on the same page.

. Nzonzi and Lascelles being linked this morning. would take those 2 all day long as Lascelles not such a rick as Mina as has premier league experience. add to that Rashford on loan and big bid for Moussa Marega then we're in business! . impressed with Marco Silvas ruthlessness in shipping out 4 more of the dead wood this morning, goodbye to Williams, Martina, Vlasic and Mirallas. that'll make room for some of the youngsters to come through like Dowell etc. slowly but slowly the right decisions are being made by the manager. at least he's had the guts and courage to do it where Koeman and Sam didn't! C. O. Y. B!

Lascelles and N'zonzi all day.

03 Aug 2018 02:40:05
OllBlue1878 - I went to the Porto friendly in Faro. Although Marega scored the only goal of the game - trust me when I say this - he is an absolute donkey. He reminds me of a slightly more composed Victor Anichebe. It’s the one thing all of the fans around me in the Everton end commented on throughout.

I know it’s only pre-season, but you just know a donkey-type player when you see one and he will never change. The way he runs, his first touch and control, it is an absolute blessing that West Ham are in advanced talks to sign him.

On the other hand, Yacine Brahimi to West Ham would be a dissapointment, he gave Seamus Coleman nightmares, freakishly quick and incredible turn of pace.

Review Of The Day 2nd August 2018

02 Aug 2018 07:03:44
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 2nd August 2018

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2018 00:13:13
. we could really do with a big signing now to get us all excited. what happened to all those players we were strongly linked too - the likes of Lozano, Rashford, Kluivert, Batyshui, Mina, Marega. we definitely need a couple of new centre backs, a quality central midfielder than can dictate the play, new right winger as Lookman appears to want to go and I don't see Tosun being good enough for no. 1 striker so need a striker too. Marega impressed me last season at Porto, strong like Lukaku but more to his game than Lukaku and scores goals.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

02 Aug 2018 07:36:08
I think Tosun could surprise us this season. His shot conversion rate was really good and considering the lack of chances he did pretty well in front of goal. I imagine with Richarlison and Walcott or Lookman on the wings, and a fully fit Sigurdsson behind him he may bang a fair few in.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so tommy..

02 Aug 2018 09:50:00
I think so too Tommy but we need a contingency if he loses form or gets injured.
Niasse is good off the bench but not a starter.
I wouldn't mind Rondon for the money, always seemed to be a pest for defenders.

Agree1 Disagree2

02 Aug 2018 09:52:35
FFP constraints may limited the type of player we can go for I can't see us getting anyone that will demand an exceptionally high wage. I would be happy with the club filling the gaps in the squad with good players, we don't need another marquee signing that sucks up a vast majority of our finances.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 13:37:04
I'd love Batshuayi. I think him and Richarlison would rip teams to shreds but first we need to get our central defence and midfield sorted out. The signs are that Marco and Marcel are getting there but only a week to go
Squeaky bum time folks

NSNO COYB.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 13:47:00
There’s a real finisher there if we give him the right supply, he is not going to run past players but his touch is good and he can hold ball up well but I think he will surprise a few, I think he will get 15 league goals this season.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 15:49:40
He might, but if he gets injured or does a Jelevic on us, we need a decent back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 16:11:01
I really like the look of Rondon Smit. I read somewhere the other day that he was the subject of a bid? Might be wrong like, but he’s a good player imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 17:10:34
Yeah, with some service, he's going to show his worth this season.
I think he's going to become a very dangerous striker. His work ethic, awareness and accuracy with both feet and His head are begging for more crosses and through balls.

I see no reason other than a wretched injury, stoppin him from plundering 20 league goals. He has the quality.
