All the talk at the moment is for replacing the gaffer we really need to strengthen are team a blind man an his dog know this. Bill may of got his appointment wrongl but he felt that he wad the right man. Who do ya think would improve our playing style? Who would want to come? How about big Sam bring back moyes not many want to come to Merseyside if we were a London club we would have buyers, managers everyman an his dog showing interest.were aren't so we deal with it accept the person willing to take the challenge but always expect more than they deliver due to the shackles and constraints the club owners put on them personally I think even Jesus an his miracles would not impress this current board who ate only unit for the money
us fans who llove the club an would die for it will never change that through moaning about any of it .we would need to stand together an not line pockets would you never go the game again till The current board wuit I won't because I love my team an they know evertonians go the game. Bring on Watford 3-1

{Ed025's Note - good stuff HB..

02 Aug 2015 21:28:48
After going the game today it made me realise how important lukaku will be for us this season because no one else in the current squad looks capable of scoring regularly .It does not help that Rm has shown he has learnt nothing last year as his tactics do not involve getting bodies into the box he overloads in defensive mids which ultimately leaves the cf isolated and easy to mark . Lukaku will have to battle on his own for goals and the lad is capable of doing so in a team that's not set up to his strengths but if he gets an injury then I fear for us.We struggled last year and looking at us today I expect exactly the same this year we need to do something in the transfer market a forward and a creative mid are essential as the squad looks paper thin. Let's hope the sight of stones and Mirrales hobbling of is just niggles as were going to need both of them I don't think he can sell any first team pros as the amount of youngsters been brought into the first team shows how short we are.Rm needs to find a better system and build the team to suit lukaku getting the ball up to him quickly and supporting him in the box.Expect a 7th to 12th place finish mainly down to good first eleven but weak squad wich at times wil cost us.

{Ed025's Note - cracking post that AM8, my feelings exactly mate..

02 Aug 2015 22:13:26
I don't see the reason for 2 DM's when we supposedly have such a good defence. I'd play 4-1-3-2, and give rom some support next to him instead of behind him. Even shot either barkley, naisy or mirallas along side, just help support rom.he can't control a ball but the other 3 can.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i like naisy in the hole myself dentie..

What do you guys think about michu from Swansea available knows were the net is an played in prem think would be able to do job as no 10 off luka

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - he had a great start to his time at swansea HB, and was being touted as the next big thing, i think he had a bad injury and went downhill faster than a fat kid on a slide, if we could get the old michu back he would be a great signing mate..

02 Aug 2015 21:45:54
Send Martinez packing back 2 the swans & we'll have young monk in exchange.
Another up & coming young manager the guy whose just got Bournemouth 2 successive promotions.
Can't remember his name but he'll b hot property & in demand by a host of top clubs in yrs 2 come.

Message to Cobyone and a few others out there: About a year ago I pointed out that the standard of signings had deteriorated. I pointed out that we were signing players who did not score goals and who's general quality was lower than what we already had. I repeated that post in the same way a couple of months ago an again last week. I am as loyal as any Evertonian and have watched some drivel over the years as well as some good stuff. Right now I think our depleted squad is being made more and more inferior and as a proud Evertonian have to y concerns regardless of what Swan, Cobyone or anyone else says. I believe Blue Bill has made an enormous error of judgement and Martinez is just not good enough. Cobyone says only time will tell and stop being negative. I really believe that RM is just not good enough and has lost the dressing room and we will lose certain players if something is not done soon. I also believe we will struggle big time and the tactics we employ just do not suit the players we have. I repeat that we will struggle to make top half and bottom 3 is a real possibility. let's judge again after 10 games. I did this last year with Swan. I also argued with him that Kone was not good enough and was a poor signing.

I can't stand the spanish t**t even turn off the telly when his smug gob comes on if he comes out and publicly defends Kone again I will personally go to finch farm and wedgie the little pain in the arse when will the board and bill see through this fraud come the spurs game we will be bottom and no chance to survive please somebody help also can we get rid of Howard so poor today his distribution and kicking has always Been poor but not a shout to Coleman about a man on for 2nd goal god help us

Come on guys is Lennon the answer, don't think he is. We need to be looking at youth or big names. As I keep saying money is there. We can afford anyone really. I do agree with ed Pato is a disaster. Not for me. Timo Werner, maybe Shaqiri maybe Townsend . Looking at potential really. Even who is the young Italian guy scoring goals in USA. I know it's a easy league but confidence is an amazing thing. I don't know. What do we know. We all have different opinions don't we.

02 Aug 2015 21:50:20

I'm all for giving managers sufficient time in the job but Martinez does nothing for me, he's lost the fans, looks like he's lost the dressing room, lost all tactical awareness, let's face it he's a fraud that needs to go, he should have gone after the Newcasle game at new year.
But who next?
Who would come to this shambles of a club?
Let me tell you - Nobody with any credibility would come and that is down to our incredibly inept board!
So what's the solution?

DUNCAN FERGUSON.

Ok, less than a week till the prem league starts and wot have we got, 2 mediocre signings, how much time we going to give the likes of Lukaku, Barkley, Naismith, Kone to bang the goals in, whos replaced Distin, Alcaraz, no one, yeh we have some great kids, can they step up, maybe, do we have money to spend, who knows, sure there are plans in hand, but, week to go blue noses. I for one will be, ONCE A BLUE, ALWAYS A BLUE, but worried.

02 Aug 2015 18:38:16
Does anybody think Rooney got a gue to come back to us after today, it was a good reception he got and maybe he would like to put that blue jersey on again, I know money is not of plenty at the moment for us but it was just a thought but it was nice to see Wayne in the blue of Everton again after all these years I would still love him back playing for us.

Got to say today was probably the worst game I've ever been to.

It sounds over the top because It wasn't the worst performance, although it wasn't far off, but just what it represented. We lost a testemonial. A game played as a laugh to honour a player and raise morale. We should have seen old legends like Stubbs and Weir coming back and enjoying themselves and it should have been a really nice day, but instead we played a borderline full strength squad and lost.

The club is a shambles. The tactics were beyond a disgrace. Kone was abysmal so he takes him off and puts Barkley on the wing. We played 4-6-0 for a good 30
minutes. We had 2 shots on target in 90 minutes, both in the second half. We only looked like we had a leader on the pitch when Dunc came on. Martinez HAS TO GO. He is appalling. I'm struggling to support this Everton side anymore. I travelled all the way back from Uni and spent money I don't have just to see this game and feel sick, it was that bad.

The only positives where Dunc's speech and Rooney's reception, but other than that, I can't help but feel that we'll be lucky to be a prem team this time next year.

03 Aug 2015 02:07:52
'Only time will tell' is just about the dumbest reply you could post. AB, like many of the fans, thinks we're in a mess; the same mess that we witnessed last year. Your response to that is worthless.

Season starts next week we have a month to strengthen and this is the issue! Clubs around us are getting stronger we cannot afford nt to improve and move forward, each season gets tougher we slipped back to mid table last year we MUST get better this year end of!
If not he must go, pressures on!

is there any positive fans left on here think all this negativity about the state of our club at the moment is slightly over the top tbh

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - its difficult to be really positive to be honest coby, lowest spenders up to now which means all the others will be stronger than last year, and we never really lit any fires then mate..

02 Aug 2015 18:17:30
I think it's all completely justified. We are a shambles as a club and are only getting worse. If I was any of our players I'd be looking for a way out as soon as possible. We'll be lucky to finish in the top 15 this year, but we'll need consecutive relegations before Kenwright finally sacks the Spanish fool.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Aug 2015 18:32:19
I always remain positive Cobeyone. We have strengthened without losing any players with the club working hard to sign more. They've come out and said our star players aren't for sale so not much more to say there.

Regarding other teams, well only the top 4 have added players that I would be happy to sign. All the others, Meh!

You can sign 5 ordinary players but that won't climb you up the league. You can spend more money but that won't win you any trophies.

But it's not all rose petals, I think Bobby needs a repeat of last but one season to win the fans over and I can't see that coming. He needs to get the team more intense that last season. And to get that he will need a pretty amazing number 10 to arrive before 5pm September 1st.

So I will remain positive (not phenomenal) and as always get behind the lads from day 1.

Goals dried up @ just the wrong time against Leeds & a late consolation against villarreal not good.
Derby county drew 1-1 with Villarreal last week ffs.
No excuses a strong Everton team out there today doesn't give me much hope when the real test starts next sat.
Lack of a striker with killer instinct & an attacking free scoring midfielder.
Lost every pre season friendly last season & not much better this unless their playing Swindon,Hearts & Dundee.
Hammered by arsenal struggled against Stoke albeit won on penalties but all in all same old I see nowt there 2 worry premiership teams.

Huh. well we're losing 2-0 already to Villerrael with a so-say full strength team with the worlds worst striker up front doing jack-all once more! & the opponents are apparently 3 weeks behind us in their preseason preparations, what a joke. I wonder what this Spanish muppet of a manager we have will come out & say after this 1? He must be running out of positive excuses by now. it's going to be a long season folks, I just hope the board don't delay much longer than October when we're sat in the bottom 3 & pull the trigger faster than John Wayne! We are in desperate need of 2 things at EFC. a new manager & major investment!

I am blue through and through and didn't want him here with us either but at the min he is what I see as the brightest spark and passer of the ball in midfield, I will get shot for this but a lot better than Jimmy mac not in work rate but with balls going forward and not sideways. Don't forget he scored 4 in 4 last season for Villa which is already 3 times better than JM did for the whole of last season for us. I am not on some mission to hype him up but if he's producing the goods for us then back him not slate him ffs.

REMAKE OF THE TITANIC FILM.

the SS Goodison as been holed by the iceberg
relegation.
Captain Kenwright is re arranging the deck chairs on deck, while the ship is sinking.
1st officer Mr.Bean (who already as been responsible for the sinking of the SS Wigan)
is already in a life boat rowing away looking
for his next victim.
Capt.Kenwight orders the band to play Z cars,
while he looks for a new investor with money
to pay for the repair of the hole.
Then he shouts "abandon ship, chairman & directors first"
the ship goes down with all evertonians aboard after they have already paid for their season tickets, & bought this seasons
new strip.
THE END.

Loads of new names on here. HELLO to you all.

But also. Loads of negativity. I get you're al concerned that nobody is coming in, but I'm not bothered. This season is going to be the big transition.

We will be bottom half by Jan and then spend the money we get for stones during that window. We won't get relegated, but we won't win anything. It will just be a "solid" season. The board will be happy.

We'll probs finish just outside the top half aswell, which will be quite an achievement for a club like us, considering our rivals West Ham and Sunderland have spent far more.

Bill Kenwright and the board will pocket the earnings of that season, and it will be onto our next star to fund the incomings.

Good to be a blue ain't it?! Enjoy the weekend lads. Am going to go back to Qatar soon, so I'll ask a Sheikh if he fancys moving to Wavertree. Ed025 do you want anything? Can hook you up with a Camel or two.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - when has Bill Kenwright ever pocketed anything from Everton? I don't understand this hatred for a man who has only ever put money in to the club.}

Bk saved us from oblivion, he has put every penny he has into everton fc if anyone is to blame it is the other board members, take our anger out on them not Bk, he is at loggerheads wiv them constantly as he knows were in need of finances, I for one don't want a foreign owner, I want blue Bill to stay on the board as he knows what it takes to be a blue. We have many legends who have played in blue, but I would say Bill is a true legend too eho has saves us from being nobodys

Ur right ed, but I dunno when the right time is for the change, we need a ground for starters it's going to take sumbody mega mega rich or mega mega silly to buy us, build a ground and invest in players, I really can't see it happening for a long time, maybe bk can't either and he's worried what will happen in the long term if he sells to the wrong person, and that's why he wants to stay on board

It's now beyond a joke! People on here saying stop panicking but my god we finished out of the top ten last year! So far the problems of last year have not been fixed, WE HAVE NO GOAL SCORING THREAT.
Leeds beat us today, it wasn't by skill it was by hunger and desire which we do not have and won't have. Maybe people are happy with mediocre everton but i'm not I want Everton of old and i'm sure people will see this as moaning but at least I have passion unlike most of our current shambles.
