Everton Dave {Ed024's Note - I personall hope not Dave, I would rather blow 50k a week on someone hungry

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Watched Everton today and put in a decent performance. Typical pre season but plenty to be optimistic about. On the downside informed that we are financially at full tilt. The Yobo money might open another free transfer (Rangers centre half on radar) but the only movement in addition will be loan deals.

My starting 11 for opener....

..................Howard.................
Hibbert...Jags...Distin.....Baines.
.............Rodwell..Gibson..........
.Naismith... ................Piennar..
....................Fellaini...............
...............Jelavic.....................

If I win the Euro millions I promise to invest in the mighty blues! We can all dream...

What's this match people are talking about? I live in London but keep close tabs on efc website, and have bought the preseason package and there was no game scheduled... Was this an open training session match or a friendly against another club? If so, I have more questions who'd we play? Did we win? Who scored goals?

Question time over...

MAC - lost evertonian in London

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never known a pre season when we have never played our best team whats going on

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people always miss out the genius Osman. Naismith is probably going to take 6 month to get anywhere near back to his best. {Ed024's Note - Ossie has been a great servant to our club mate and can still provide a pivotal role for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Osman is a great ball player with great feet. and most games he gets agood goal scoring chance (however he mostly passes it to the opposition gk lol). i love ossie and hope we continue to play him for another season yet. if he had pace he'd be pretty devestating (also i am sorry ed i keep posting under barlow 1878 and 1878barlow as i keep forgetting which way round i post so from now on i will post under what i have posted this as {Ed024's Note - What did you post this as mate lol

And where have you heard this from ?
Bluebuck {Ed024's Note - Usual nonsense mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Right since Monday we have had Barkley going, Rodders going, Baines going, buyin Adam Jonno, buying Cardoza or however the hell you spell his name, new owners coming soon, Howard goin to Philly, buying Ba, buying Defoe, Doyle and Donovan. Dont you just love being a fan

Degsycool

Don't tell me it's Winston Parks Snr. Buying the club so his son can have his dream move?

Shame really as besides the odd cockup, yobo was a really good player for us. but if you get on wrong side of davie your history.

I am glad it is being sorted, we have tried to get rid of him for ages, should hopefully get a couple of million for him

Everton Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree with saying, 'thanks for nothing'. After all, he was a good player for us.

Hey Ed, do you think we secretely have a few quid to spend like when we got Felli, Moyes may pull a big signing out of the bag towards the end of the transfer window. I dont think AJ is a goer as a few clubs will soon start to show an interest and he will probably go to QPR as they have money to burn, would love him to come though but all the rumours are just made up.

Degsycool {Ed025's Note - if we do have some cash degsy...i think it will only be a small amount mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Andy Johnson was sold for Fellaini.

For people saying "how did people watch the match?".. It was streamed on Sportal.bg or something like that it was foriegn. The team played ok but you could tell it was pre season, Never looked like they put 100% in as you would expect and looked sluggish. Gibson was best player on the pitch and Distin never done so bad. Gibson's passing was spot on long and short ones. Just to point out the pitch did not look in great condition although the season is 18 days away.
PS. The last time we had a yellow away goalkeeper kit, we got into Europe ;) Lets just hope.....

I believe that the only incoming transfers we will say will be deadline day. That will be a loan signing or two. Reason being that we won't have to start paying the wages until 31st August. If we sign anyone now, we will have to start paying wages now, anything to save a few quid. I can't see Leighton Baines leaving either. Man United seem to be linked to everyone at the moment and they usually do their business early. If our squad stays intact, definitely pushing for Europe this season!

Joseph Yobo is contracted to the blues until 2014 and is in his 10th year so does that mean he is entitled to a testimonial match. How many people do you think would attend ? Lol {Ed025's Note - not very many..

Eds. I didnt see anything of Wallace before he went to Tranmere. Baxter tweeted that he ran the show for Tranmere against a good Everton line up. Interested to hear what was Wallace like. Did he look a real prospect.... Moyse would surely not let someone go easily if he thought he was going to make the grade. {Ed025's Note - we have to respect the managers decision on this mate..he sees a lot more of him than us!..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you'll find they wouldnt sign a new contract so where free to leave ,heard baxters was less than what he was on

Agree0 Disagree0

I played against wallace when I was in school. He was great at amateur level, no one got near him. Sadly there is a reason why amateur is amateur and why professional is professional and he does not cut it for the big leagues. He will no doubt be a solid lower league player though.

i have heard rumour that fletcher is himself interested in a move to the everton but wolves have priced us out 10 million {Ed025's Note - too much, for a decent, but hardly great midfielder..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

He's a forward, not a midfielder. {Ed025's Note - his goal tally tells me otherwise..

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said he was a good forward Ed025. {Ed025's Note - lol..ok mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2012 18:27:09
Think its time we look for another captain, Neville as great a captain as he is, is getting on now and this season will leave us vulnerable at the back, if heitinga stays he's easily my choice. What's everyones views? Ob1

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Rodwell should be captain. {Ed025's Note - he may struggle to get a regular place, so not a great choice mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Felliani or Baines. Make them know how much we respect them. {Ed025's Note - too quiet for me...someone like gibbo maybe?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell will play alongside Fellaini.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbo is not the most vocal, off the pitch also. Jags would be made skipper.. Without a shadow of a doubt. {Ed025's Note - but will he be a regular?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Needs to be a strong yet loyal and class character. Gibbo is a great shout ed but he has only been here 6 months so maybe in the future. At the moment i think Jagielka is a good choice if he starts or possibly the great Tim Howard.
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

I think hibbo should be captain, but i think jags will be the next one

Agree0 Disagree0

Im with Ed on this, said it after Gibbos first match, future captain in the making

Degsycool

Agree0 Disagree0

Is jags a starter? We've dug our heels in over him with arsenal for 2 seasons, think if he was a sub we would have took 12m when they offered! Fully fit, he's first choice centre half! Gibbo would not be made captain anytime soon. Quiet lad and only been here a matter of months. Don't jump the gun!

Agree0 Disagree0

Has to be either osman Johnny or jagielka

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be Howard if anyone. Vocal, loyal, class, passionate, we really under rate one of our key players. Top 5 keepers in the league easy and add his love for the blues and he is a clear choice for captain. Broken some of Big Nevs records.
Svenny {Ed025's Note - fair shout mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I would never think of taking the captaincy from Neville, he is the best of leaders and could be for any team. He may be getting a bit older and less influential in games but he makes up for it entirely in team spirit and fight, his desire to fight back in the 4-4 draw against Utd was one of his many inspiring performances as captain. He should remain captain until he retires, that's my opinion.

Gibbo for captain is a great shout by the way, the more he plays the more vocal and influential he's gonna become and definitely a future captain in the making.

Svenny's shout is a great one too I was thinking the same thing when reading these posts. Other than Neville, Howard is by far the most vocal and makes the back 4 tick (one of many reasons why our back four was 3rd best last season), the only downfall to him potentially being captain is that he's not centrally involved in the game and it would be difficult to hear his orders from between the pegs. Gives us a lot to think about though and it's nice for us blues to know that we have so many different options as to who will lead and guide our magnificent team in the future.

Toffee Jack {Ed024's Note - Good post Jack

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga, Osman, Jagileka or Gibson. We have good options anyway

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Barkley has not even proved himself at everton yet,l i think he is our player for a few years to come

Everton Dave

Right lets all be realistic here we are not going to sign Cardozo and we are not going to get Adam Johnson either as you can tell from us getting Pienaar we have to sell to bring people in! we only need to look at our RM now personally i think Coleman is a RB. Phillips from Blackpool would be a good addition to the squad or would mind seeing Manchester Citys Slovakian Vladimir Weiss there but not sure how much he would cost but i reckon a loan deal would do it. I would take Micheal Owen on a free you cant go wrong if you put him on pay as you play deal.

Everton boss David Moyes is chasing Costa Rica left-back Bryan Oviedo - as he waits for Manchester United to get serious about buying Leighton Baines.

Moyes flew to Denmark to watch highly-rated Oviedo in action for FC Copenhagen, following up missions by his scouts to study the 22-year-old at the end of last season. {Ed024's Note - Motes aint goin mate and you can take that to the bank, dont think Peanut would have signed without that assurance but I could be wrong

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now this might seem crazy but i thought I'd chuck it out there.

Chelsea are looking to offload some youngsters on loan. Lukaku, De Bruyne & possibly Thorgan Hazard.

Wouldn't it be a fantastic proposition to keep them all together, all in the premier league & more importantly all in blue.

The trio would seriously bulk up our squad in important areas and give the boys some much needed game time in the league of all leagues.

Just a thought {Ed024's Note - I dont think it would happen mate as they would be sitting on our bench most of the time and not getting playing time, would like to see Lukaku though

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The problem with us taking youth on loan is like Dier, we never play them! The whole point of sending youth out on loan is to gain experience, so dont expect Chelsea to loan us youth players
I would rather give our own youth a try

Hi eds just a thought but do we need a new rm I think if Coleman can stay injury free and get a decent run in the team he will do a good job and why not put Islam there aswell I think people though get osman since arteta left was one if our most creative players also last season anichebe, gueye, Barkley and Naismith can play there,

DJK {Ed024's Note - Still need an accomplished RM for me mate

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Coleman's a no no now - when half the team was poor he didn't stand out - now we've got greally ood players everywhere except right mid - even someone half decent from a lower half prem club looking to step up would be better than coleman who just cannot get past people anymore and his confidence is shot - but - hes not a winger - he filled in for us for a while when we needed him to so fair play to the lad he gave it a go - but if we had a really good winger in there we would be looking at the team from front to back thinking "we've got a chance against anyone" - come on moyes and bill - just one more player - a right mid - and we'll be looking fab

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Saw roders play last night .we should sell him , sloppy pass which led to us getting beat by Tranmere {Ed024's Note - Give him a chance mate, he has had a torrid time with injuries and would have been an England regular if he never got crocked last year, he will come good

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we should give him a chance. But there is absolutely no way that he would have been an England regular.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but his brothers another matter. Stick Del up front with Uncle Albert and Trigger on the flanks and I reckon England might actually do a bit better lol {Ed025's Note - if they swapped raquel, for allen...im sure she would have done just as well..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol yeah Raqeul's got bags of skill. Then wack Densil in goal and it'd be like watching David James now! On a Serious note I think we should all pray for Adam Johnson. What a signing that would be wether it be a loan or permanent. Do you know if these rumours flying about have any legs ed?

i know its only paper talk but its so annoying when you see we are linked with 22 year old left back oviedo in case baines goes! its more likely that IF we get him then its cover we have needed for years in case baines gets injured NOT leaves.

Hope the Owen story finally goes away....I remember Moysey tracking Macmanaman when he came home from Real Madrid.....could not understand it....he may have won titles with Madrid but even while he was with them, he had totally lost his pace and became a sideways passer and not much else. He went to City and did nothing....so I hope we wont go after another ex.Red who was good umpteen years ago.....but now is just a pale shadow of good.

Is it only me who would LOVE to have Manuel Fernandes back at the club> I've been going on about him for years but no one seems to agree with me. Now that Liverpool have been mentioned to be interested in him...It just makes me want him even more :(

We only need a right winger now - we've got plenty of centre mids

Don't know why I brought this up, but I just wanted to get peoples opinions on a ground share with the neighbours if the opportunity ever arises. Personally, I would be very much up for a ground share as I don't see any negatives. Think about it, a magnificent 60,000 capacity stadium on Stanley Park and have the Dixie Dean statue one end and the Shankly Gates the other. As for the seats... paint them purple lol. Financially, it would benefit both teams greatly and I really do see it as being a good idea. Anyways, I was bored and it's late at night but I was just curious to see what people thought. Oh, and anyone that says 'I wouldn't sit in a seat where a Blue/Red sat last week' needs to grow up and stop being fickle.

I don't know why you brought it up either. It's never going to happen.

The big problem with a shared ground would not be the colour of the seats or who sat where, the problem would be that even if it was built as you suggest the media, the fa, and the deluded ones from across the park would see it as their stadium with us as lodgers, this would be unacceptable and should never be allowed to happen to the first club in liverpool!......grbefc

Not so much a rumour but would like to see Jordan Rhodes at Goodson, he fits the Everton mould, he's young and would be cheaper than an established striker. Worth a punt, I think we've been linked to him in the past.
