Has a chat with a friend of mine who's son plays for the blues under 18s and he said he was speaking to someone to do with the kids set up said to him moyes has been told by kenwright that if he gets us into Europe there will be a nice transfer budget for him for transfers but if we get in the champions league where will be a substantial amount to spend so really what kenwright is doing is only ready to splash out if we get into Europe so if we don't expect modes to leave and whoever comes in not to have much to spend which I think stinks being a blur who works allwweek and spends my hard earned moves following my passion home or away what ever the weather rant over LOCAL BLaUE

Believable3 Unbelievable7

If we finish 4th, we have to play in the CL play-off round in order to qualify for the group stages, which is where the big money is. There's not much off a gap between the play-off round and the transfer deadline, so would we be able to use the supposed budget ("promised" by BK to DM for CL group stage qualification) in the time available? Remember 2005 - out of the CL and the Europa league in quick succession - no way a transfer splurge could be financed if that happened again.

While having a few beers after the Stoke game, I got thinking about Moyes situation and what he`s had to deal with in the last 4 years.

Since getting to the cup final in 09 ( and losing Yakubu, Arteta and Jagielka during the season, all to cruciate injuries ) he brought in Jo, Coleman, Bily, Distin and Heitinga in the summer of 09.

Between then and the purchase of Jelavic in Jan 12, no other significant signings were made ( Gibson, Velios, Gueye and Joao Silva were the only ones who the club paid money for ) other than free signings or loan deals. That`s TWO AND A HALF YEARS where Moyes basically juggled the existing squad and had to scrape around for players, trying to turn sow`s ears into silk purses.

Bit of a coincidence that when the Blue Union started highlighting the error`s of the board, money was spent on Jelavic. Then in the summer, when City bought Rodwell, Mirallas and Oviedo were bought. What would have happened if City hadn`t come in, sweet FA investment?

Now, maybe Moyes really has had enough.

Maybe Moyes is right, let's see where Everton finish and let's see what the board are willing to back him with next season.

If we don`t qualify for Europe, then Moyes may think we need `X` to take us to the next level and really break into the top 4.

If we DO make Europe, then Moyes may have a figure of `Y` to strengthen the side and make a dent in the top 4 and Europe.

Whatever figure the board come up with coupled where we finish ( as Moyes has stated ) will decide whether he walks, so if he does then it`s down to the board.

Two and a half years without any real investment and Moyes has made us a consistent top 7 side, I take my hat off to the bloke. Couldn`t see any of the media darling managers doing anything close.

If Moyes does decide to go at the end of the season then he mightn`t have won anything, but he`s done a fantastic job with what he`s had to work with.

Perfect? Far from it. He`s human, and has his faults like we all do, and makes some horrendous decisions ( In my humble opinion ) but the bigger picture is that he`s done well with the hand he`s been dealt.

Hope the board pull their finger out and find him some proper cash to spend, he`s not far off building a side that will certainly challenge the teams at the top, which is where every one of us wants our beloved club to be.

What`s our name? {Ed025's Note - really good post that fish..

Great post. I hope something happens to keep Moyes at the club. Nobody could blame him for walking away but I can only see the club going backwards if he goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent post Bluefish no other word to describe it.

Great post and in that 2 and 1/2 years we didn't buy a 1st team player we bought in 30m through player sales and belfield, which still didn't reduce the debt just payed interest rates, joke PADDOCKBLUE

You no what I think is a good idea, if kenright sells the club for let's say 50m, then somebody will be able to take over and sell for 70m 2 years later, then they could sell for 90m and we be in a state of transition for years. Eventually the person who would buy the club for 110m would be looking to sell for what kenright wants for it now but it will be the year 2025
ULF

Believable1 Unbelievable8

That's exactly right - if he offers to sell it for 50m I'd go down the bank and ask em for a loan myself as its worth over 100m just on asset stripping

And there's plenty of sharks out there that'd smell blood

Unfortunately that leaves us in position whereby kenwright makes massive profit on his investment - money that leaves club

Only thing I can think of is some kind of fan share issue

Why not sell it to a fan consortium?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because a fan consortium would not have the finances to take us forward, were not playing league 2!

Lets forget about takeover talk every
Time it gets mentioned we get excited
Only for our hopes to be dashed deep
Down we no bill has no intention of
Selling the big issue is what happens at the end of the season Fellaini will go tv
Money will come in and what happens to this money will decide the future of
Our manager we as fans must show faith in Dm he has kept us competitive
When others would have got us relegated his record in the transfer market is excellent Baines jags Fellaini
Gibson Mirrales Coleman peanuts all good signings Dm deserves to be backed to take us to another level he will not get a better chance to push on
At Everton than next season with the
Money that will be about Bk must back
Him as every other team will also look
To spend big next year if he doesn't
Dm will walk away

Just this minute finished speaking with our old friend DEEP POCKETS (extremely hush hush ) apparently the reason DM hasn’t signed a new contract is because he is waiting for Bill Kenwright (what a guy) to put on a west end production of David’s musical which he penned himself entitled ‘’ True Blue Bonny MacBlue’’
There are several stumbling blocks not least the naming of a character in it called ‘’Daddy Nobucks’’ Bill wants assurances that there won’t be any parallels drawn and this isn’t a slight on him.
Of course David has denied any parallels and has even wrote out the scenes where ‘’Daddy’’ appears in long running soap opera.
However the real problem is, Bill has hired Andy Serkis to play the leading role and David demands this be changed to Ewan McGregor or as he put it ‘’ that’s it pal I’m off ‘’

Don’t forget NBBWD.

So Vital football site has come out and said what most fans knew already, the takeover rumour was just a joke. I always keep a little bit hope though that maybe there was something in it but that little bit of hope was dashed this morning when I read it was a joke. I wonder will we ever get the takeover we all dream of, Kenwright came out and said last week another intrested party came forward but gave no hint were there from or who they are and nothing has came from it media wise since. With the history our club has and the big fanbase it boggles me as to why we have not been sold yet, I know the stadium is a issue but I refuse to believe that the stadium alone is what is preventing the sale of the club, there has to be other factors stopping our great club from getting the investment we so badly need to start winning trophies again. But I will try and keep positive and pray the right man or men come forward soon and help bring the glory days back to our club, on a brighter note I have a great feeling about Sunday I think we will get the 3 points it won't be easy as it never is against a very good Spurs team but just have that sneaky feeling were going to win that match, bring on the Spuds COYB.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Can't you see that Kenwright is the problem? The club is for sale for an unrealistic figure and the clause which we keep falling down on it that Kenwright wants to remain Chairman even if new owners come along. who in their right mind would sign up to that?

That is why we have not been sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

If somebody was really intrested in buying our club and that was the reason behind them pulling out. Do you ever think to wonder they would of came out and said we were intrested in buying Everton fc but the current owner wants to remain in charge so we have decided not to proceed with the talks. There was a lot of intrested party, s over the years surely 1 of them would of came out and said that was the reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

There not allowed to come out in the press as the club get them to sign a Confidentiality agreement, so that's the reason why we never hear anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

What we are asking for is more than Chelsea or man City were.
They were either cheaper or had no stadium issues. So it should come as no surprise that we are still looking

Stef, I agree with your point
Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Takeover success stories: Chelsea, Man City.

Takeover disasters: Portsmouth, Leeds, Birmingham, Blackburn, the 1st takeover at Man City, QPR (they were apparently the richest club in football, remember?) Coventry, Liverpool (?), Hartlepool, Notts County. The list goes on.

A takeover would be odds on to end in disaster. Be careful what you wish for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aintreeblue, i'm thinking about not leaving the house tomorrow as i'm afraid that I might get run over crossing the road, but there again I might not, but it's a risk i'm willing to take otherwise I will never know and just keep thinking of the worst what could happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aintree blue you are the most myopic poster on this forum all you do is defend kenwright all the time, and try and deter others with differing opinions to stop posting, how about you going somewhere else, you contribute nothing but petulance you must be a very childish guy! {Ed025's Note - thats a bit unfair mate, he is only pointing out that sometimes the grass is not always greener...and to me thats a valid point..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed025: it probably was ott but the guy gets up a lot of peoples noses with his attitude, its his way or no way we all have the right to express our opinions he needs to grasp this concept, it will be painful but in the end he'll benefit from it. {Ed025's Note - we all have our opinions mate, and thats his prerogative, its the same for everyone..

Agree0 Disagree0

Aintreeblue, I know being taken over is a risk but Kenwright has openly admitted he can not take the club forward. We need newowners and fast otherwise we will always be nearly rans I am not running him down or anything like that I just want to know how come a club the size of ours has not been sold yet considering we have nine league titles, 5 facup's European cup winners cup, I am not trying to give you a history lesson, but does that not add to the list of reasons why someone would be willing to take us over. and don't forget the fanbase which is huge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aintree blue has a right to his views otherwise the site would be boring tp.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stef, your last post proves your point to a T mate. couldn't agree more!

Interesting news today from a source I will only refer to as DEEP POCKETS very hush hush

DP tells me that the best chairman in the PL I think you Evertonians know who I'm talking about eh? well of course you do

Anyway DP tells me that Mr Kenwright is doing everything possible to make EFC a successful footy club once more, so please pleeeease keep buying the season tickets.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Buying a season ticket for the family on the street is a very expensive outlay. So if you're going to ask for some faith then you need to be more convincing.

If you have more information then please share, especially as it will cost us a lot of money
