Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

OK, it's stating the obvious as it's based on his own quotes, but RM will clearly strengthen the squad during the next few transfer windows. Whether it takes three windows (including the one just gone), which means by the start of next season, or five windows, which means two seasons hence, to get what he wants for his tactics and formations is a moot point. (And, of course, developing the squad is a never ending task at every club.)
For the next few seasons, with older (or under-performing) players moving out, our better U-18/U-21 players moving up, some players inevitably moving out if other clubs meet their valuations, our squad will surely be quite changed by the start of the 2015-16 season. I can easily imagine that all bar one or two of our players currently over 30 will have left us by then. I can also imagine that we'll see several currently unblooded youngsters (such as George Green) having progressed into the squad. I'm looking forward to see how RM's work in progress pans out over the next few seasons. Once he's had three seasons - and as long as we don't have any disasters on or off the pitch the way - I reckon we could analyse how it's going at that point. Until then, I'm enjoying the journey. Once a blue, always a blue!

Agree with you CS.

Question for you and other Toffees, say for arguement sake we did go on a bit of a journey this year and got dizzy at the peak of the premiership, do you think we have got a squad to handle the pressure?
The majority of our squad are now fully fledged internationals but do you think they posess the will power and nouse to cope.

Not getting ahead of myself, just thought I'd pose the question.

Agree0 Disagree0

As the Liverpool semi final and leading position in an fa cup final with the core of the team still in our squad I would sadly say no. Maybe it was a Moyes factor but we did seem to bottle big occasions. Not talking about good wins against Utd or City for example I mean quarter final vs Wigan in a year when the fac cup was so open.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it was moyes attitude and selections that caused us to bottle it (Wigan aside)

Interesting question AW.

Thinking back to the closed season when we were on the brink of appointing RM. I remember a lot of people posting they were concerned about us leaking goals and such like. A lot of regular posters said our defenders are good and good players do not become bad players overnight, they will handle the change which is how it turned out.

On the other hand at United good players seem to have become very poor very quickly, so you have to think it is a balance of player experience, (Desire to win, nous) and manager input (Motivation, man management, tactics etc.) Rather than one or the other.

That being the case with Robbie "Lets take the positives out of an earthquake in charge" And the lads experience as internationals my opinion is that if we got to such a position they would be able to handle it well enough.

Right, great weekend (apart from Liverpool's win) now please blues no excuses on Tuesday morning.
Last week we went out of cup after a weekend full of promise.
Monday night has to be EFC sending out a real message of intent that we are not just candidates for 6th spot.
I expect 3pts won in a fashion that demonstrates our superiority.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Holding on to beat Chelsea was a good sign.
Coming back from behind twice to beat West Ham United was a very good sign.
Dominating Fulham, but failing to beat finish them off was a reality check.
How the players react against NUFC will be an excellent sign of how they're adapting to RM's tactics and formation, while showing the team spirit, character, unity, and never-say-die attitude that must support the skill and flair in any successful team.

If we win tomorrow our form will be DDWWW

Bored this weekend Monday will make up for it hopefully but while we're waiting who do you think will make it from the academy I think hope, green, ludstrum, garbutt and Kennedy all stand a great chance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Green and Garbutt.
The others may have good careers elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope, ludstrum and Kennedy also stand a great chance of making our first team in the years to come.
Hope is a natural goal scorer. Ludstrum is a quality box to box midfield player and a natural leader while Kennedy is a quality winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Matty Pennington is supposed to be decent too. Is he Ed? {Ed025's Note - big things are expected of him keith, he is one of a number of very talented youth players we have at the moment..

Agree0 Disagree0

No one mentioning chris long, 18 and already established along side hope ATM.

What about courtney duffus is he any good? Sorry just I've only just heard of him then on the youtube video of the corner challenge

Mike-Ox Long {Ed025's Note - the two duffus brothers have a lot of potential mike, but it seems like courtney is ahead of tyrone in development, but that may well be because he is older..

Aparently the Bara youngster Sergi Roberto (only 20) is available for arround 6 million.
I wouldn't doubt to pay that for him! Class young player and he's absolutly at a bargain at this price! I'm sure RM could convince him to move to Goodison, like he did with Deulofeu!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The lad is seen as a potential heir to Xavi. Even if he doesn't become good enough, now Thiago is gone, I can't imagine they'll sell him.

What is really interesting to me is the fact that Mourinho and other top managers are saying any one of 6 teams can win the title. It is apparent to me that each of these teams will be taking points off the other. Usually one or two teams dominate and therefore get the majority of these points. It is likely that the Premiership winning team will not need as many points as usual. We draw lots but lose few. Perhaps we are in with a slight chance of Champions League?
Degsypulford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who are the six? surely we must be included as one of the six?

Agree0 Disagree0

The managers of those six clubs apparently don't rate our chances, so we could slip under their radar into a European qualifying position. To qualify by winning the FA Cup we'd need a favourable draw throughout.

Agree0 Disagree0

The six are: Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool & Everton.

Watched match of the day last night and Moyes looks like he's aged about ten years since he took over MU. can't see it getting any better for him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It'll take him a season or three to succeed, but with ManUtd's huge financial resources he's bound to win something.

Agree0 Disagree0

He already has. The Community Shield. But that's it. The first and last.

Just wondered what ED's and blues feel about how were handling MU overtones on Baines. Personally, think by BK / DM not discussing contract renewal until January is the right approach.

Lately the board have been pretty impressive in manipulating the transfer market to our adavantage, something that isn't always guaranteed.

But filled with hope that (a week is a long time in football) MU are dumped out of CL by Xmas and they are Mid Table, perhaps Leighton will review his options, particularly if we are up there! He would then go on (if he isn't already) to become an Everton legend.

Anwyay that's how its playing out in my mind! well done the board so far on the Baines issue.

Clough sacked at Derby and Man Yoo are absolute crap.

Have I woken up in 1973?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nigel Clough sacked - yet another club's owners panic. How soon before Birmingham City or Bolton Wanderers or any other Championship club falling off the promotion/playoff pace this early also panics? Likewise, how many Premier league clubs fearing relegation and loss of huge income also panic and sack their managers before Christmas?

Green scored a hat-trick for u18s, hopefully we'll see him go on to challenge for first team honours in the next few years. {Ed025's Note - hes a talented kid kiwi, and i see him being brought in a lot sooner than a few years mate, bobby will give him the chance if hes good enough..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

From what I've heard, George Green is ment to be a bigger talent at his age than Barkley was at that age. With our academy the future looks bright.

Agree0 Disagree0

The future is indeed bright. Chris long will be elevated into first team squad before long. Ryan ledson another top prospect. The under 12/13 squad are awesome and are not just beating teams but are playing incredible football. I am confident we are like when man u had Beckham scoles giggs and the nevilles who broke through together. Coyb in Bobby we trust. Paul c

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not as good as Barkley was, Dentie, but he is very good. Apparently he's stalled a bit of late, but a hat-trick is a good sign

Agree0 Disagree0

Both Barkley and Rooney were physically ready (injuries notwithstanding) for first team football while still in their teens. I'm unsure that George Green (talent notwithstanding) is yet similarly robust - even for a manager such as RM.

It's taken him nearly 12 years but David Moyes has finally gotten Everton higher in the league than United!
