I really think we can get something from the game on Sunday but I can't seem to shake this impending sense of doom. Had butterflies in my stomach all week thinking about it haha.

Anything can happen in a Derby, the big positive this time is a manager who has stated we will not hear the word fear in the dressing room.

In the past, we have been beaten mentally before even stepping onto the pitch.

This squad of players are capable of giving a good account of themselves, it is all-on the Day, regardless of how well our neighbours are playing, we have a fully fit squad who are starting to gel as a team so fingers crossed.

You'll never have a better chance than Sunday, we're not really at it at the minute and have been a little in and out all season and I've been told your playing very well, so you may have something to shout about for once come Sunday night.

Excited as first time in a long time going to a least try and win. Always wondered why we have tried to park the bus against higher ranked teams.

A few reds fans have said that to me Waro but you are unbeaten in the league and your strikers are scoring goals. I haven’t seen much of you this season in the league but you can’t be playing too badly with the results you’ve had.

Defence like a wall! Everyone talks about them going forward. 13 league games played. 5 goals conceded. that's title winning stuff believe me. Van Dijk is a mountain like Mina but also nifty with his feet. I said at the time he was all they needed. Last season they scored but they also conceded. 5 in 13 is almost as low as 1 in 5 games. Any team will win a lot of games with those stats. especially if they can score a few too. They have only scored 6 more than us. so you can see why they have won so many more points than us. we were conceding every game prior to Mina coming in.

I support Everton, love football. For me if you love football then you have to recognise quality in other sides and even though we are rivals (in this City more than others I would say we have families split red and blue down the middle) with Liverpool, have to admit they are quality, that front 3 has to be the best in Europe at the moment. Their manager has also tightened up their defence (always a weakness prior to this season) . One thing I will say, I and my brother have never been to Anfield in a league game, silliness I know but we will not give them our money.

Writing Liverpool off because they had a bad night in Paris is imo a very dangerous and ill-advised thing to do. Yes we have to go into the game with confidence and a belief we can win, but they aren't number 2 in the PL by luck. They have some world class players who, if they turn it on, can hurt any team if they are given the opportunity. We need to get at them but also be tight in defence and midfield, and if we get the chance we have to be as clinical in front of goal as they can be. Have no doubt I want to win, and I'd love it if we end their unbeaten run, but all I am saying is it won't be easy.

It would seem that the way to beat Liverpool is to make the game a bit stop/ start. I saw PSG doing this loads last night and to be fair it certainly frustrated them and Klopp. As good as we have been over the past few weeks we need to be adaptable and play differently if we are to win. If we try to go toe to toe to them we will be beaten by their quality.

I'm not saying we lack quality, but I am saying they have more. So break up the play and disrupt their rhythm if we are to come away with a long overdue win.

Agree. At least we have players who can take the game to them at times. Hopefully ghana and Gomez can get some control on the ball. Mina Coleman Digne and Kane are key- 2 clean sheets in a row should give them confidence. I’d play Richarlison on right and Genk up front - don’t fancy Bernard at Anfield to be honest.

Exactly what I thought watching that game last night Ace. I'm sure there are a lot of our fans that'd love us to turn up to Anfield, go toe-to-toe with them and turn them over but that's just not going to happen, whether you like it or not they are a formidable team. We should look to slow play down and frustrate them, they've shown time again they're a bit wobbly when teams do this, and then pick them off on the counter, much like we tried to do with Chelsea.

I have not heard anyone writing our neighbours off, after losing to a team who are hardly average.

What it might be is we have had a full week to train and work on tactics, whereas our neighbours will have had two game plans for yesterday and Sunday.

Where I think we have the advantage is stopping their fast pace, breaking it up, then all being well, using our impact subs in the second half, to counter attack with pace.

That is why I would leave Lookman on the bench, until the second half, or use Bernard and Walcott as impact subs when the game has slowed down.

Anyone else remember Wayne Clarke ending their record unbeaten run at Goodison, am sure we went on to win the league that year too.
