Hi Ed 025,with Man City agreeing pre deals all sorted with two top class players, to me if we did the same thing as well especially as we start early with Europe it would be a big statement of intent by R K and the Board surely mate, cheers GuernseyBlue.

{Ed025's Note - you can get players like city do if your prepared to pay over the odds like them GB, agents like to play the game and have a bidding war between clubs mate and the longer it goes on the more money they make mate..

Hi Ed thanks for that got your point mate cheers, GuernseyBlue.

Here I am the pessimistic one, once again. Think Mr GB is spot on with this. Firstly we are not aiming at the same fiscal value as City because we can't, Secondly we have the messiah Mr Walsh the all seeing one, Thirdly and most importantly if we do have ambition a statement of intent would be to hit the ground running.

You know if Ross did go to WH then it just highlights how powerful agents now are. Are we really reaching a point where the agent now picks the club and not the player. Or have I missed something and it's always been like that?

Hi Woburn, agree totally mate what on earth would West Ham offer Ross over us apart from the big bucks, they are going nowhere, just shows how daft foorball can be at times Cheers, GuernseyBlue.

The only reason he would leave to a club like West Ham would be that he wants away from The City Imo.

Just a thought as we need a new GK for next season city buying Ederson, Sunderland getting relegated and as an outside bet Ter Stegen signing a new contract at Barcelona, leaves 3 keepers with choices to make over the summer Hart won't want to sit on the bench Pickford should be playing in the prem and Cillisen even though he plays cl games must see he's not no1 at Barcelona so which one of these would we take I think Everton have got Pickford as no1 choice but 2 other gk we could look at.

{Ed002's Note - Everton have already been looking at other goalkeepers to Pickford but he is by far first choice. Ruffier and Schmeichel have also been looked at.}

Hart has just left Torino, city have a new keeper, let's go for him before anyone else does.

I agree with you Anglesey Blue, Would prefer Schmeichel but somehow don't think we would get him. Would prefer Hart over Pickford.

Cheers ed002 I don't know anything about Ruffier but I'm glad we are keeping our options open.

Ed with ederson going to city does that make it easier for us to sign Pickford now with the no1 spot open?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - how is this relevant in any way to Pickford and Everton? Man City had no interest in Pickford.}

29 May 2017 13:02:23
Just with him being linked with them ed.

{Ed002's Note - Pickford doesn't play for Manchester City Eddy. Do you mean Hart?}

29 May 2017 13:40:54
No just seen Pickford linked with city and pondering a bid. Thanks for the reply eds.

{Ed002's Note - Ederson was always their primary target.}

I think people go on too much about Rom not scoring in the big games or even showing up. In part they are right. But the team doesn't show up either. We need more creativity in the midfield and down the flanks.

{Ed025's Note - thats a fair shout spennie..

29 May 2017 22:47:17
Totally agree with you spennie but be careful mate you'll get the "Sure Lukaku scores goals but he doesn't run enough" brigade after you soon.

Even though we have the cash to splash this summer, we won't be signing anyone soon. The big clubs will buy early and players will wait to see which clubs are interested before signing. Everton will be a way down that list. An exception could be Rooney who I think will sign.

I agree with that in the main, but not all players will be thinking like that. Some will see the project and be sold on it in the same way Koeman was. Players like Schneiderlin who have improved us. This type of player I like because they have seen the tough side of football at elite clubs and value playing more than bench warming association with the club they're at. Batshuai I think is one of these and Davey Klassenn has already stated that he doesn't see elite clubs as his next step. So whilst I'm not saying we could sign these (although it would be nice) they are the types that may not hang around.

Fair points. All depends on which clubs are interested in a player. If a player is willing to leave, his agent will tout him around and find the best offer. Hopefully we'll be the best offer for a few top players. Be great to have the new faces in for the start of pre season if poss.
