Right the derby is on Saturday and yes it's Anfield the place where Everton go and freeze, players legs turn to jelly we mentally collapse there for some reason and that is fear I just hope Koeman smacks a bit of cop on into the lads on Saturday. Its time we started playing the game there and not the derby if we do that we will have a very good chance of winning COYB.

{Ed025's Note - i would love you to be right stef but my expectations are not very high mate..

I think we might miss Seamus and Mori too much. One we might have got away with. The obvious choice left is a back 4 with Jags, Williams and Baines andmaybe Holgate? But with no McCarthy it looks like Barry will probably feature and he is way too slow for their pace on the break. That's one thing they have! I can see a red for Barry and another defeat there. but hope you are right Stef.

Our lads always bottle it there so why not throw some fearless kids in with a point to prove. Holgate, Davies and calvert lewin. what have we got to lose.

I'm hoping he plays a mid of schniederlin gueye and Davies I'm convinced schniederlin will play with Lukaku barkley and mirallas up top I don't know why everyone is worried about mori bring out when hasn't started the last 2 games so I'm confident jags will be fine then we have Holgate again he came on against Utd and didn't look out of place I'm really confident of a blue win on Sat.

Schniderlin is a doubt for Saturday. Think he'll be a huge miss. Funes Mori less so for me. I honestly get the fear watching him bringing the ball out of defense.

{Ed025's Note - no argument from me there CT mate..

This summer will tell me a lot about the ambition that Farhad Moshiri has for Everton Football Club. At the minute the club is looking fairly strong but will we kick on and sign Ross and Rom down to contracts and sign players who clubs around us are looking to sign and strengthen? We will see.

With all the ambition possible and with the best will in the world, Moshiri can't force players to sign contracts if they don't want to. Even if Rom and Ross left and no major names sign, it doesn't mean that we can't carry on building and improve over time. We have to have patience. We're not in the CL and it's a tall order for us to qualify in the next three years, so really top players with short careers are not going to see us as attractive yet. Let those who know what they're doing put their long-term plan into action without getting on their backs. The six clubs above us are still significantly richer than us and we have to spend hundreds of millions on a new stadium in addition to players' fees and wages. It's not going to be quick or easy but we're far better off than we have been for years. Let's just enjoy it.

Ed02,can you send any light based on the information available, as to whether Everton will ever actually end up the owning out right the potential new stadium on the bramley moore dock? from what I have read this far it sounds like we will be tenants on a long-term lease.

{Ed002's Note - I answered this a couple of days ago. The finances have yet to be bottomed out and whilst the club do not have the money to build the stadium themselves and don't have the credit necessary to borrow the money themselves, the local council will be acting as an effective lender. They will borrow the money and then rent the premises to Everton. Eventually, after the debt has been paid, it would be reasonable to assume that Everton and the council can reach agreement over passing ownership to the club - but right now that is many years away.}

I can't see what benefits there are to owning the new ground tbh. We aren't in a position to buy it so a deal is being arranged for us by the LCC. Man City for all their wealth rent theirs from the council doesn't seem to bother them so I don't care who owns it as long as it's as intimidating as the old lady, which let's be fair will be down to us to sort.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The rent will be at the level where Everton will eventually pay the complete cost of the stadium so I would expect the club and the council to reach agreement over the transfer of the ownership. THis will become clearer when the finances are sorted out and Everton are in a decent position financially.}

We just got to hope it doesn't go like West ham, Southampton, Sunderland who all struggled when they moved stadiums. There probably be loads of others.
