Not sure about some of the posts on here. Why should we sell Gana just because he deserves his dream move!
He has a contract and with a couple of days of the window to go and should at least play until the summer.
Otherwise play hard ball like every other club does with us. Ask for 35 mill and not a penny less.
Otherwise no deal.
We paid 20 million for Walcott in January and Gana is worth double what Walcott is.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2019 23:19:46
30 million plus for a 29 year old, I would take it mate. He’s excellent in some parts of the game but his passing is so poor.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 03:15:23
Agree with that, Smit. When we buy in this window we generally pay over the odds so we should dig our heels in and get the best deal for the club. I like Gana but, at 29, 30m+ would be great business, whether we get that amount or not is another thing.
Up there with the best in the prem for that position with his tackling and breaking down opposition moves but his passing isn't up to scratch. We should only let him go if a stupid figure is offered and if we can get a replacement in before the window closes. Think this one might go down to the wire.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 06:56:06
His passing at times is poor, however, where at this stage are we going to get a replacement. Would a Club with ambition be selling! Is Gomes an answer! Not for me, personnelly I am glad he is on loan.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 11:02:20
Money is no good on the pitch. players are. Do we have a better replacement?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 15:15:28
29 I thought was peak.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 15:16:07
Put it this way PSG wouldn’t sell for that price.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - absolutely metz..

29 Jan 2019 22:01:14
Little shout for tosun there the boy loves everton puts it all in and fights for everything run of games and he gets goals definitely.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he worked his socks off johny...mind you so do i and im not good enough to play for everton either mate..

29 Jan 2019 23:11:19
Still our best option I like him and deserves a run in the side.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 06:31:01
Not only worked hard but in the positions to make a difference. 2 assists at least, not his fault some of them couldn't hit a barn door.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - his first touch was awful, maybe that is down to a bit of rust though..

30 Jan 2019 06:56:56
It is Ed, so was Lukaku's.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 21:48:05
A big thank you to Tom Davies, showed the rest of them what it means to be an Evertonian. Maybe someone could tell me what Sigurosson brings to the team?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - absolutely nothing mike..

29 Jan 2019 22:19:09
Agree with that. Lookman on the right give the 10 to the little lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - deffo worth a shout..

29 Jan 2019 22:20:47
People were writing Tom Davies off earlier this season. He hasn't even started shaving yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 22:35:17
Seems like Siggie could use a rest. I’ve never seen a player lose the ball as much as he has over the last few games.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 23:04:51
Agreed being saying that for weeks. Also a big well done to Baines, worked his socks off, would play him in left midfield. Baines and Davies in midfield when Digne is back from suspension. Need some passion in midfield and those two would give that.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 06:35:39
Degs, I have time for the lad, he will come good and puts in a shift but can't get away from the fact that he has somewhat of a headless chicken approach.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 09:54:52
Exactly DFS. Headless chicken is because he was introduced at a ridiculously young age to be playing so much Premiership football. But do you remember the goal he scored when he came on against Man City when we beat them 4 nil? That showed his potential. He has an engine. He has grit. He has some basic ability. He just lacks experience and came into a team that was woeful. His main period of playing was when Allardyce had us playing a 5: 5 formation. ie no forwards and totally negative. How was a kid supposed to learn from that?

Also, like I said. loads were writing him off at age 20? Not every player matures like Wayne Rooney. Some don't make it until mid 20's. I believe Davies will be a great player and he has potentially another 10 to 12 years at the top. It is too soon to write him off. We did that with Steve McMahon in the mid/ late 70's. Some wanted Graeme Sharp out before he made it with us. Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 21:13:00
OMG Digne! What a F***in idiot. No need at all. If we don't win this now. grrr.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2019 21:17:01
Well the guy was clean through on goal so no need at all is a bit harsh. Might be one of those justified fouls, only time will tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 21:39:48
Took one for the team I say we'll done lucas.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 21:42:30
It was his fault for getting turned in the first place before the foul, so bite me lol We won anyway but he's still a naughty boy ;-p.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 21:45:19
Well that was heart in mouth. Digne did the right thing though left us with 10 men. Could have gone pearshaped but a win is a win and actually saw some fight at last. Chances missed is a worry, particularly against bottom side. Keep it going should be our mantra.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 23:14:39
He should never of got him self in that position but possibly stopped a goal, and in the end got 3pts it was not a great performance but a win is a win and it was badly needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 20:38:41
Doing okay so far. Nice early goal and we're - as we should be against the bottom club - dominating possession. Cenk leading the line fairly well, but he needs to calm down a touch or he'll be off. Nothing overly exciting but as long as we keep pressing I can see us getting a few more goals second half. COYB!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2019 20:33:48
How can you say Silva has lost the plot, we are playing really well tonight 1 up loads of passion pace etc, long may he be our Manager, the lads are up for this.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

30 Jan 2019 16:18:22
Quite simple really GB, Silva drops Lookman who has been M o t M in three out of his last four starts and was no where near the worst performer against Millwall and Gana who he maintains after the game was carrying a minor injurty but continues to play Sigurdsson and Gomes who have been woeful for the last eight games.
And if you feel we played really well last night you and I must be watching different games.
Whilst the 3 points were very welcome our performance against a very poor side could never be described as ‘really well’ and once again Sigurdsson and Gomes were anonymous offering absolutely nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you fancy..

29 Jan 2019 19:02:40
Just seen the team for Huddesfield game.
Quite frankly Silva's lost the plot!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jan 2019 19:14:29
Well if Macca can’t get a game then something’s not right. Either he is fit or he is not. Thought this would have been an ideal game to get him back in.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 19:24:44
I agree Woburn but also good to see Tom get a chance and tosun up top, I saw a report saying we should just recall Joe Williams if we gana, and to be honest I forgot about him, looked top draw for r 23s and while I haven't watched him a lot over the last 18 months if u watch him on YouTube at Bolton and Barnsley he reminds me of a young Gerrard, what's the point of loaning these lads out to get experienced if wer not gunna give them game time eventually.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 19:00:41
Nice to see Baines is playing and named captain tonight, Digne is sub. No Gueye in the match squad so could that mean he's on his way way to PSG? Cenk also gets a start too.

Pickford, Baines, Zouma, Keane, Coleman, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison and Tosun
Stekelenburg, Digne, Kenny, Mccarthy, Walcott, Lookman and Calvert-Lewin.
Subs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Oops Davies in the starting 11 too. I knew I forgot someone out.

Not Everton related but want to give a massive shout out of respect to Man Utds Luke Shaw. A young lad where I live in Middlesbrough area was found dead yesterday in River tees under suspicious circumstances. They started a go fund page to raise two grand. Shaw donated £15,000. Top lad.

Right Maggotts (lol) it's almost time to put away any negativity and think nothing but positive thoughts. We will win. We will win. We will stop any goals going in (for them obv) . COYB!

Hey Ed 025 a win tonight and we could be up to 7th place, not bad eh mate and kick on from there.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We would have been too GB but needed Wolves to draw. Now we face them on Saturday at home, which won't be a doddle, but hopefully we will prevail.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 18:12:10
Given our problems up front. Would anyone have fancied getting Fellaini until the end of the season rather than dive in and get another unproven striker?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2019 18:27:10
He's not a striker tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 18:39:33
Knock balls into the area and watch him knock em in. Don't you remember him in the opposition area dentilad.

Yeah, good player for us DFS. I'd prefer a proper striker though.

I think they should bring one of us passionate fans in to give the team talk before just 1 match, to tell them overpriced and overpaid players what this club is all about and what it means to us.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we could get dark clouds to do it glt..

I will go with him, tell them how much I have spent over the years (60) , better still bring Peter and Tim in.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 13:44:04
I’d tell them “it’s like every exam you’ve ever taken and you know the answer to every question is 100% Everton, yet every exam result day is a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and your told you’ve failed or just scraped a C but if you want to go further you need to do better or you’ll amount to nothing, and next doors kid gets A* in everything and your sick in the stomach then they show the nation on television how stupid you were to think that Everton is the answer. Yet the next exam you do the same and hope that one day it will be an A* because you’re sick of being told you’re not good enough. I’m nearly 57 and it still hurts and my answer will always be Everton
Everton till I die COYB

Does anyone else think that we should be finishing no higher than 8th as there is a good chance that the European places will go down to 7th and the last thing we need is an early start and a messed up preseason. To be honest 8th will be a challenge top half hopefully, but getting into the europa places would be a disaster
Big C.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2019 12:05:40
Wouldn't say its a disaster but it would make things really difficult if we were changing the squad as we all hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 12:15:49
I hope we never qualify for that Europa league it just f@#$s your season up, and we can do that without it.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 12:28:24
I wouldn’t go that far it’s a steppingstone to prepare for eventually getting in the champions league and you need European football to attract the better players, but just not next season. It’s probably a moot point as unless we go on an amazing run top half will be a result .
Big C.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - 17th would be a result the way we are going Big C.. :)

29 Jan 2019 12:34:42
europe helps everything, helps in attracting players, and helps the club build and get used to these European trips, all the clubs do it that way, and I think our target at this current moment should be in fact to get into Europa and do it consistently and build on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 13:01:19
Bit of a dilemma isn't it. Getting up towards the top is only possible if we've been on a decent run, which we all want to see. Too close to the top could mean a place in Europe and all that entails. Personally I'd like to go as high as poss and hope that instills enough confidence in the squad to cope with the EL.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 13:21:15
With BigH on this, who the heck wishes their Team not to do their best.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 13:50:09
Don’t get me wrong I hope we do our best but I don’t think the additional pressure, games and shorter preparation time would help having a europa cup campaign starting in mid July, considering where we are at currently. Hey if we get our act together and go on an amazing run and finish in the europa places then I’ll be thrilled
Big C.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 13:54:21
I like the Europa League and would be more than happy if we qualified, but only in fifth or sixth (which won't happen this season) .

Qualifying in seventh (or sixth depending on cup winners) is horrific because you start playing the half dozen qualifying matches almost straight after the end of the season and often nearer China than the UK.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 14:20:23
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic DFS or if that was a compliment. I'm easy whichever. :-)

I would like us to get into Europe that way I get more holidays✈️.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good thinking mate..

29 Jan 2019 16:05:13
Anyone who has travelled abroad with our amazing away fans understands why I say bring Europa League on! It also means we are making progress. After that would be Champions League. I think saying not to want it is lake saying would you accept being relegated for a trophy? No way. League positions first but qualification for Europe second!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 16:37:31
There is no chance of us getting into Europe this season exept to go on are summer holiday lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2019 18:25:23
The only teams who appear to win the europa league are those with big squads. Look at all the other teams who get in with smaller squads and how it ruins a lot of their their season. Devil you know and devil you don't.

Thinking things through there are 5 areas that need addressing;
1 Zonal Marking - We can all see that it doesn't work with these players, obviously we need a fusion of man-marking and zonal. Runners need matching and best defenders marking their best attackers.

2 Fight - passion fight never-say-die, this needs to run through the team on and off the field these prima-donnas need to be told exactly where they stand.

3 Play to our strengths - Millwal showed us exactly how to do it got the ball in to dangerous positions on our flanks and filled the box for the ball in to box. We need to close down with a coordinated press from forwards and midfielders, winning the ball in the opposition's half and playing fr.

Just 3 days of the Transfer Window left (inc today) so the $1m question is; will we or won't we? I personally think Idrissa will force a move through, albeit for a bit more than PSG have already bid, but I'm not sure about any incomings. Batshuyi may be a possibility according to some reports but we will have to wait and see.
