The performance against blackburn was not great, but somehow we managed to get 3pts, so I guess that is the most important thing. We have more points in our first 2 games this season then we had in the first 6 games last season, so that is a positive. {Ed025's Note - your glass is always half full..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Against QPR we dominate the game and lose, this week, we are poor and yet we get 3pts. Gotta love football LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Play Billy more often in central mid as he is not a natural winger. Grateful for the points, be it by luck. Luck hasn't always gone our way so lets be greatful it did.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Howard on saving that pen

Agree0 Disagree0

The players need to start moving about a bit and making some runs. Too often when we got the ball everyone was standing still so the man in possession had nobody to pass to other than a pointless one-two. A lot of the passing was very careless and it looked like they just wanted rid of the ball instead of looking to make things happen. I was disappointed when Heitinga lost the ball before the 2nd pen that he just jogged back towards goal instead of busting a gut to get back and make a tackle, after all he is a DEFENSIVE midfielder All that said, Lady Luck smiled on us today and we should push on from here and put in more effort. Lets get a head of steam up now and not coast along until the new year before it all clicks

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we were lucky and we didn't play well and we have tim howard to thank but a win is a win and last year it took us till October to get our first win so as disappointing performance it was it's better than last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who do you think should be our right back ed? I like hibbert but i fancy giving coleman a run there. Or do you think it should be neville? {Ed025's Note - its coleman for me...he needs to sharpen up a bit defensively..but is a threat going forward..

What i dont understand and i dont know if anyone agree's, but unless we are getting investment from a buyer, we may aswell sell some player's.
Clear our debts, if there as bad as the board are making out. Sell fellaini, rodwell and jagielka this would surely generate 50-60 million, that would clear debts.

We don't even have to buy anyone, maybe a striker on loan, even without them 3 player's we wouldn't get relegated, but we wouldn't be in a mess financialy either, no player is bigger than the club, we have to look after our club, sell them 3 to sort us out.
We would still have a decent squad
Howard, Mucha, Hibbert, Neville, Distin, Heitinga, Baines, Coleman, Barkley, Osman, Arteta, Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, Cahill, Saha, Beckford, Anichebe, Vellios.... Obviously a small squad but get 2 players on loan to cover the loss.

I know its not that easy but something has to be done to solve this mess sooner rather than later. Im interested in our club NOT doing a portsmouth or leeds, not keeping player's..... we wont get relegated, hang on this season without them player's and start again next year. {Ed025's Note - i bet you pay you bills before the reminder....there is nothing wrong with a bit of debt..90% of clubs operate in debt..what we dont want, is to sell our assets and have a club worth nothing!..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

A lot of clubs are struggling. I think moyes and kenwright will fight to keep our players. No players have indicated they want to leave and i believe we can hold onto our players, bring our youngsters through and keep our fingers crossed for investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, Yes I agree we should consider selling maybe One, but 3?

Explain to all us Fans what will happen Once our yearly Injury crisis hits?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, maybe sell one of them but not 3 of them, even 2 wouldn't hurt us too much..... If arsenal put a "proper" bid in for Jagielka then everyone has there price !
As for Fellaini if he is not going to sign a contract we HAVE to sell him !! We will otherwise be left in a situation like we were with Pienaar.
Even if Jags and Fellaini went we would still have Heitinga to cover Jags loss and Rodwell to cover Fellaini loss, but we would need a couple of loans to keep the squad going because we all know we will get injuries so we will need the squad.
I'd rather keep Jagielka i see him as a future everton captain but like i said every player has a price and if selling one or two helps our embarrassing situation then so be it !!
I agree i don't want us to end up like leeds or portsmouth but if we were as bad as them two were then surely the press would have found out by now, after all we can still afford to pay wages so we can't be that bad.
I would only start seriously worrying if it came out that player's weren't getting paid.
Love to see a loan signing before tomorrow..... maybe SWP or Donovan........ can't see it though

Ed?? Can someone answer this
question for me please. I think in the
league we have the 10th highest wage
bill. We havent spent any money for
over 3 seasons. When we bought
Jonny H, Distin, and Bily that was
with the Lescott money.
We are only a paltry 45 mil in debt
compared to other teams. Granted
our revenue is crap but thats down
to the board who havent a clue on
how to make money comercially.
Then why will RBS take all our money
from any sales we make and not part.
I cant see any other club having the
banks at the door like us. The reds
were in a similar postion last year but
that was over 300mil.
If that is the case and RBS are so
desperate for there money then im
sure other clubs would be in the mire.
Or is the answer that its not RBS who
wants there money back but one of
BK friends who he has loaned money
from and wants it back.
Plus every year in our general meetings
when our accounts are published
this was never highlighted.
The blue Don {Ed025's Note - it is hard to find out whats going on..there is rumour after rumour but only the board know the real truth..and they are as thick as thieves..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The fans just want to see the team moving forward and competing. We want success for this club and we belong competing for trophies. As supporters we won't settle for anything else. {Ed025's Note - we will have to while this lot are in charge, we are still one of the biggest clubs in the prem, and your right we do deserve better!..

Agree0 Disagree0

We have consisitently come in the top 10 with this lot in charge. We can still compete as we have always done under moyes, but to take the next step and win trophies we need investment {Ed025's Note - you are right...but dont tell me that your happy with top 10...bolton, sunderland, and the like are happy with that...we should be aiming higher..

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe if you actually had facts right you'd know the reds were £130m (not £300m) in debt and 24 hours away from administration despite £230m annual turnover. Ours is £80m but bank ain't threatening to close us down. {Ed025's Note - thanks for the info mate..there are so many conflicting story,s its hard to know what to believe!

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes has a knack of getting things right. If we can be half way up at the turn of the year hopefully we can go on one of our late season runs and sneak into europe, especially if 7th means europe this season {Ed025's Note - i like you optimism....a bit naive i think..but still like it..

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2011 21:05:16
Facts and possibilities.
Possibilities. Kenwright coulda sold up to a man city type owner or more likely a west ham/pompy type owner.
Fact. Kenwright appointed and has kept Moyes even when people called for his head when we finished 17th.

Regardless of what happens nothing will change before January. Let's keep the faith and support the boys.

Huyton Realist. Loving the site eds

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We have got too many good players to struggle. We have coleman and saha back hopefully for the villa game and we are more than capable of a top 10 finish. Barkley is going to be amazing as well this season {Ed025's Note - dont depend on ross...he is a great talent, but he is only a kid...

Agree0 Disagree0

We have enough midfielders to not have to over rely on ross, i really hope he fulfills his potential, as he was the key addition to our squad this summer. He seems better than a lot of players we have been linked with.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have reason for optimism. We finished last season strong and since then we have got a number of key players back from injury and with barkley coming through we should be able to put a run together like the second half of last season {Ed025's Note - but if that is the case..why have we not carried it on to the start of this season?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying we'll struggle. Infect saying we won't due to Moyes. Therefore due to kenwright appointing and keeping him {Ed025's Note - oh well then....three cheers for bill.....hip hip....

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is a legend, we will always do alright while he is in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think we can surely afford one striker on loan !!!!! Thats all we need in my opinion, with a decent striker who can hit the back of the net even just 15 times a season, we could easily aim for 7th place and hope one ofthe top 4 teams wins both the fa cup and league cup and we then qualify for europe again

Agree0 Disagree0

Might sound ridiculously unbelievable but why not go in for Kranjcar or Defoe loan deals?
Spurs seem to be buying replacements such as Adebayor and rossi so why not just go for it

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I would love to see us get a quality loan player in, it is the boost the squad would need for when we come back after the international break. {Ed025's Note - that would be great..

Agree0 Disagree0

A wide player and striker are needed, can't see spurs letting defoe go,but maybe krancjcar would be a possibility {Ed025's Note - the biggest possibility is ...no one....unfortunately..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think kranjar would be a realistic shout ! He would come here aswell, he would get regular game time

Anyone else get de ja vue talking about barkley (Rodwell). Let's hope he's handled better.

Huyton realist. What you think Ed? {Ed024's Note - I think Rodwell was handled OK he has just hit a plateau and needs to push on maybe in (CB) position???
Barkley reminds me more of the Rooney scenario and he will end up too big for the club, will move on to Man U as we are now a feeder club for them!!

On a positive we should just enjoy his play while we have him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Rodders just needs a run of matches without any injuries. He is young and he will come good. He is a very good midfielder and will eventually move into the back four.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell will be vital for us as he can be competent in two positions. He can also find the back of the net as well, i remember him scoring a great goal against united at goodison

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell will be a spectator this season.
Huyton realist {Ed025's Note - i hope hes not....but if he is...at least hes got a box..

Barkley is the key addition to the squad this summer. He is going to be influential this season and lift everyones spirits. I hope velios and gueye get a chance to show what they can do as well. {Ed024's Note - Good shout, would be great to see all these promising youngsters get a chance to settle in the Prem before injuriess force our hand anyway

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We have a good blend of youth and experience, we really need to pick up our form as we have two winnable home games coming up

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley looks so composed, almost as though he has been playing for years. I thought baines played well on saturday as well.

us get Sturridge on loan from Chelsea .At least he'd be guaranteed a game

can't see why not ? its plausable as they have a gluttony of strikers now - Torres , Drogba , Anelka Lukaku, Mata , etc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sturridge would be fantastic. It would give us the finisher we need. I just think chelsea will be keen to hold onto him

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard a rumour in the summer that we were going to offer rodwell for sturridge. Probably not true, but would have been great

Benyanoun {Ed025's Note - good player...would fit in well..

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I would take him everyday if the week

Very talented footballer, think he's on 70 to 80 k so may be out of our reach unless we get rid of a fee

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be great, there is a lot of interest in him. I think there is a chance we could get someone in on loan in before the window ends.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please be it Sturridge on loan ..

To be honest it's not all bad, since we are buying no one its giving our young players like Barkley a chance to show that they are well able to represent our club.
When you look at the likes of Man City, no player from their youth academy is likely to get a run when they are just buying every player, and then compare them to us, we have some seriously talented players being produced at the club {Ed025's Note - man city must be so jealous of us..

Believable1 Unbelievable2

We have built up tremendous team spirit over the last few seasons and that counts for a lot. City struggle with in fighting and squabbles. I remember overpowering city at goodison last season. Keep the faith. COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

We always battle hard and seem to flourish when we are in a crisis. I expect the blues to bounce back with better displays after the international break. {Ed025's Note - i hope so mate..

Am i correct in thinking that we have on our board one the the richest people in this country? If so then why isnt he putting his hand in his pocket to help us out of this current financial slump? Why is he happy to sit there and watch us suffer on and off the pitch? And if he isnt interested why is he even on our board? Doesnt make sence {Ed025's Note - apparently he wont invest in the club while kenwright is chairman....and hes not going anywhere soon!...but with people like them...money is king..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

So he will invest if kenwright goes ? Is that fact or just gossip? If its true then why o why have we the fans, and the rest of the board not forced kenwright out If theres someome with a s**te load of money wiling to invest then we should do all we can to help that happen {Ed025's Note - he has apparently said it to a number of people...but when push comes to shove..who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

"apparently he wont invest in the club while kenwright is chairman"...REASON ? {Ed025's Note - maybe he wants the chairmanship?..im just passing on information from this and other sites..

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are we talking about lord granchester thought he was no longer on the board

Agree0 Disagree0

No Sir Philip Green, he's about the 7th richest man in the country with an estimated fortune of around 4.3 billion pounds

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought lord grandmaster left the board in 2000, who is this post talking about?

I will honestly be gutted if we do no trading this window. We have three or four outer fringe players who could sold, for a few million each, and we are also well stocked on defenders.
We are crying out for a decent forward.

If Moyes and Kenwright do absolutley sweet FA, then something is going horribly wrong with the club management.

We can see where we've got sellable but unnecessary players and we can see where we need someone.

I personally think something must be going on behind the scenes but if no one leaves and no one joins then I honestly think we need changes in the whole management team.

Didn't Elstone say they were pulling out the stops begind the scenes to sign someone and then Moyes says 'its just us, no one coming in'.

It's just bizarre.

And how come the decent players we have are playing so badly? Start passing and moving for god sake You're all standing still.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

We have quality players with a good crop of youngsters coming through. It is too early to panic, we will get better and we have the players capable of getting us going on a good run in the league. We finished last season strong and we need to re capture that form. Hopefully coleman and saha will be ready for the villa game

Cheer up blues it could be worse we could be Arsenal or Spurs LOL {Ed025's Note - arsenal and spurs are saying it could be worse..we could be everton!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Come on Ed your not usually this dour, be honest would you really want to be a gooner or spurs fan today? Can't you hear somone whistling "Always look on the bright side of life" Cheer Up {Ed025's Note - your right mate..too many beers at the mathew st festival, must be making me very cynical, ill snap out of it soon....COYB..

Agree0 Disagree0

5 past 11pm on Wednesday will probably do it with no-one leaving except Yobo and Yak and maybe 1 or 2 quality loans coming in. Keep smilin' COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

How could it be worse being a Spurs or Arsenal fan ? I will put my house on it they will finish above us. Very short sighted.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can make top 10 again, its a long season and you can't tell anything from the first two games. We will get things right

Agree0 Disagree0

Unlike arsenal we have kept hold of our best players

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right. Villa, sunderland, newcastle and arsenal have sold their best players and we haven't. We also have a great crop of youngsters coming through. COYB

For at least the last three seasons now we've had a bad start, unrest in the dressing room being partly to blame. The first was the Lescott saga, then the speculation that Moyes wasn't going to sign a new contract, now it's the financial revelations thats apparently upsetting the players. My question is why are footballers becoming such sensitive beings? This sort of thing shouldn't affect their performance so badly. Get out there and do what youre paid to do. We don't under-perform in our jobs because our work mate found another job or our boss is leaving Is it all just an excuse and is it simply down to poor team selection and formation? Thoughts? {Ed025's Note - for me mate its a lack of confidence running through the club...we need to get it sorted....and quick!!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Rodwell going nowhere, he has just bought a box at godison for his family {Ed025's Note - as a treat..or a punishment?....lol

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Don't know about his family but he could do with getting in the box from time to time {Ed025's Note - quality reply...lol

Agree0 Disagree0

You wanna get of his back. When he first came into the team him and Gosling gave me a bit of hope for the future. He's been played in about 4 different postions, lots of speculation about other teams trying to buy him. Yes he has lost form but he needs to be put in a settled postion and get off his back. My main concern is who is going to score our goals this season. Weve looked sh*t* up front, and no creativity. Looks like the Walter Smith days..... {Ed025's Note - im afraid only one person can change that...david has to realise that 4-5-1 does not work for us..and the sooner he does, the better..

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news Massive Rodwell Fan here One who is willing to forgive a poor season last year as he knows Rodwell was injured {Ed025's Note - I like the guy..the reason i get frustrated with him...is that i know he is a lot better than he has shown so far..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed.. Vic is not the answer and neither is Beckford. That leaves Saha who's injured what else have we got.... Give Hallam Hope a chance... After watching Manu and City, even the Sh*t* theyve got plenty of options upfront. {Ed025's Note - our formation is the problem...none of our strikers can play the lone striker role!..if we played 4-4-2 thing would be a lot better..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack will improve once DM starts playing everyone in their proper positions

Must be so frustrating for the players never knowing who or where they our going to play.

In any business the employees look to their leader to show strengths in their decision making, DM needs to make his mind up about where he is going to play his players and give them a run in that position, if he keeps changing them all round it will just keep knocking their confidence

We have the same group of players that where so strong and the inform team towards end of season, so can't have any excuses there

Ok other teams have spent money but the teams we will be competing with have bought rubbish and we still field stronger team

Just need DM to play to our strengths and play players in their best positions

I would like to see us line up like this once player our fit

Coleman Rodwell Johnny Baines

Arteta. Fellaini Barkely Osman

Yakubu Beckford

I know people have fallen out of love with the yak but he can still score goals and hold the ball up, he is only 28 isn't he?

I have left Jags out to show people we can still be strong with out him

We can afford to sell him and either drop the yak or beckford and by a decent striker

Either way we have the players to do beter than last season if only DM will settle the side into regular positions

No player or Manager is bigger than our beloved club, we can always replace anybody, we have proved that in the past

It's far to early to right us off yet fellow blues, it squeaky bum time yes, it's the time of the season where we all spend more time on forums searching for hope than with our Woman and kids lol but the answers our there if DM wants them

BK though?

Love and respect to the rest of our fellow Evertonians I feel your pain

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2011 09:55:23
If we sold Jags for a reasonable price say 17 or 18 mil, Heitinga could easily fill in his role then buy a quality striker and give some back to the bank Jags seems like his mind is elsewhere so {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout that mate

Believable6 Unbelievable0

It has already been said that any money received from transfers goes to the baks. The only way we can get players is by a swap + cash deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the question we should ask ourselves is, can our current squad compete with the current top 6. If not should we cut our losses and capitalise on the current high value of our top players and cash in before their value decreases. Pay of the bank and allow Moyes to do what he has done in the past and find upland coming talent. I for one can see no difference in coming in the 8th-12th positions (apart from prize money). If Moyes can produce another side capable of challenging for champions league places in a year or two with the funds released I would be more than happy. Waiting for an investor for the next 5 years could literally kill us. What do you think? {Ed025's Note - if we get shut of our top players...where will that leave us?...ill tell you where..relegation candidates

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are we going to be in 3-4 years if we get no investment are still £35 million (at least) in debt and our saleable assets are all 3 years older? Will Arteta, Jags, Baines be worth more or less than they are now, can we afford to wait on Rodwells potential, will Fellaini sign a new contract or walk? I worry about our survival long term. {Ed025's Note - i was starting to cheer up before this post....thanks mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2011 08:40:28
In Moyes word SSN

"I said to the players on the first day of pre-season, 'It's going to be just us this season.

"They are aware of that but when the window shuts you've got what you've got."

Where skint, not worth any more people making up transfer gossip

Believable7 Unbelievable1

29 Aug 2011 02:11:07
Now I've no idea who we're gonna get or sell, however just an observation, it's already been stated that we don't need to sell, so if the arse comes knocking for any of our players I feel the price for all of them should be up at least 5 million by now. After all they need the players more than we need to sell. I really hope we don't lose any of our big names but if we must let's take the buyers to the cleaners {Ed025's Note - your business acumen is impressive..do you fancy a chairmans job?..

Believable9 Unbelievable1

29 Aug 2011 00:43:06
It is a big season for rodwell and arteta,i am hoping they both come good and play a big role for us {Ed025's Note - arteta is quality....rodders flatters to decieve...i would look to offload him..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Arteta is a legend, he stroked his penalty home so cooly yesterday

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't give up on rodders, he has a lot of potential {Ed025's Note - its realising the potential thats the problem!

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember him scoring at goodison against united and we got very excited about him,he hasn't moved on as a player since then {Ed025's Note - i remember that too...distant memory..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not forget Rodwell has had an Injury, has been playing out of position, he is a Centre back who is being asked to play centre mid and out wide.

Give Jack a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell's value is simply dropping as he gets older and fails to live up to his potential. This is why noone has made a offer for him.
Huyton Realist. Keep up the good work Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is still young,he has bags of potential and after he has a run in the team he will show he is a top player.I think he could be a centre back eventually as well and be equally useful in 2 positions. {Ed025's Note - how long does potential last?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Think jack didn't shine quick enough so barkley got a shout {Ed025's Note - ross does look the real deal..

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell will come good Where talking about England under 21 captain

Someone who united city arsenal Chelsea have all shown interest in

so what he had a bad season due to injuries, rather sells jags than him

so now Ross Barkley had a couple of good displays and he is now the future?

Come on if Ross has a good season now and then a bad one does that mean we should sell him and turn against him?

What's going on at Everton is BK and Moyes our messing club up especially BK like anything in life people start looking for answers to their problems and now we out all turning against the team and blaming them

We gotta pull together fellow blue men, in times of frustration we should united, fans and players

The only reason we our in a mess is because BK wants an investor not to sell unless he sells to a Billionaire as then he will make loads of cash BK is where we all must turn our frustration At not the players

The players want new players brought in just as we do

Must be so annoying looking at other clubs refreshing their squads and we don't even in the leagues I play in it so great signing new players and having to fight for you ace and the buZz it brings to the team

We need A massive public protest just like Liverpool Did

a media circus like Liverpool making that video with all the famous fans saying get BK out {Ed025's Note - you make some great points there mate..food for thought for all of us..
