Quite a good bit of insight into Koemans thinking on defending from Jags today in the papaer.

Basically the defensive lapse last week in the first half was down to the players on the pitch and they new exactly what they done wrong.

They didn't need the manager to tell them. We need the other end of the pitch to get their act together now.

I'm a Barkley fan but I wonder if dropping him to the bench and putting Mirrallas in the role might work (The good of the team is always be my priority) . Bolly on the left and Ged on the right. Ross can have a bit od time on the bench and come on second half. Might do i'm good.

I like you BlueJohnUns have stood up for Barkley. Also like you I would agree with dropping him if needs be.

What I stood up for him for was people giving up on him wanting to sell him. Giving him abuse etc. All that I totally disagree with.

A short spell on the sidelines could benefit all.

Agee mates, I still have faith in Barkley, but Mirrallas and Dellboy have just been as bad but don't get halve the stick Ross gets?

28 Sep 2016 22:20:30
Exactly stig. Barkley is developing into the easy target to give abuse to.

Ross has all the ability you could ever want, plus, he is a great natural athlete, the problem is his decision makeing. Shoots when he should pass, passes when he should shoot, and when he beats two men, he tries to beat three more and loses the ball, really hope he can start to put it all together, but we cannot wait for ever!

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Sep 2016 10:20:14
Agreed JCW his decision making needs improving. Also agree with the point we can't wait forever.

At the same time imho its too early to give up on him. I bet the same people who give out that Mustafi was let go are the same people saying to get rid of Barkley. Then in 2 or 3 seasons after being sold and if he turns into a star the same people will be giving out that he was sold!

Mirallas did it well in the Sunderland game in the second half. It's only a thought but we've got a flexible attacking 4 or 5 players. Sometimes a change is good.

That defence of ours though is looking great and will have normal service resumed shortly I think. Just have a look at the table and see the goals against. Koeman has done great with it.

Thinking the exact same thing BlueJohnUns. Your hardly the other half of my split personality signing in as a different name?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2016 15:43:35
Haha. I look at your responses the same NBTB.

I've agreed at some point with everyone on here over something and I even agree with Degsy on 99% of his posts (just don't tell him) . Keeping me on the straight and narrow though is our trusty ED's. They speak more sense than all of us put together.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well we are superhuman john.. :)

29 Sep 2016 21:27:48
Lately though BlueJohnUns you could of wrote my responses for me they were that similar to my own. I know what you mean with the Ed's.

Ed025 always seems fair and diplomatic. Seems to like banter and points of view being teased out. Ed002 on the other hand is a no messing type guy which is good also. They both do a fantastic job along with the other Ed's who contribute from time to time.

Will this whole Allardyce situation finally expose the corruption in football regarding third party ownership and also leeches oh sorry I meant agents. Coming out and quoting entrapment is just foolish when you have been caught hook line and sinker as being on the fiddle. Yes the way the newspaper went about it can be deemed as entrapment but ask yourself this big head, why did they target you? Is it maybe because they knew you were in the fiddle so set out to prove it. I know it's not wholly Everton related but in a sense it's football related as a whole and we as a country have buried our heads in the sand when it comes to corruption within the game. I would like to see referees monitored a lot more as some of the performances, namely a certain Mr Mason are suspicious at best.

We have Clattenburg tomorrow. This guy can even so it during a footy match on television being watched by millions and still get away with corruption.

You wonder why lots of deals for players don't go through for us. Maybe we are too clean!

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2016 17:17:11
Could be onto something there BlueJohnUns, and maybe that's why we prefer to do our business behind closed doors, and not through the press.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2016 14:53:36
Think you could be right Bluejohn, so many of our transfers fall through, if you look at players we missed out on, could well be we would not bung the agent, just like we told Ravaneli what to do after he tried for a sweetener.

Jesus we paid on hp for some of our players, no chance of Everton paying an agent a backhander, if we still have the Arteta money missing, not much chance an agent getting anything.

Sure one player won't be bothered too much by Big Sam getting the chop, that's two managers who have dropped Ross and have been dropped subsequently . on a hat trick!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Sep 2016 10:08:18
Thing is Jonno. . Southgate has the reins now for 4 games and he seems to regret his past 'omission' of Ross. So maybe he will make a point of including him in his squad, if he does that could be a boosting catalyst for the rest of the season .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the thing is 247 does ross deserve to be in the england team on current form?, the answer to that is no...i just hope it motivates him to better himself and lifts him to produce the goods for everton then the rest will take care of itself i think mate..

28 Sep 2016 10:23:56
Ed. . I'm hoping that there is a combination to unlock the 'motivation' with Ross and International call up could be an integral part of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we need houdini and dynamo to crack that case at the moment 247.. :)

28 Sep 2016 10:41:10
Ed. . Houdini and Dynamo was and is respectively great illusionists we probably need to borrow someone like Sigmund Freud to get into the lads mind and find out what the hell is blocking his talent mate 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i hope it is his mind 247..and not his heart mate..

28 Sep 2016 10:51:53
I love Ross to bits but when's the last time he put two or three good games together are we all missing something is he as good as what we all think?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats the $64,000 dollar question AB, i think he can be but the clock is ticking i feel mate..

28 Sep 2016 11:40:25
I think a stint out away from England is good for him. Let him concentrate on Everton.

It would be nice if the fans concentrated on other players as well as the focus on him must be depressing.

Instead of us hoping he takes on 5 players and hits one in the top corner maybe concentrate on the basics which he has done pretty well in the last two league games.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Sep 2016 11:47:05
If you want to know how much the fans contribute to his performances his passing away from home is 91% whereas at home it is 78%. Anxiety is obviously playing a part in this.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2016 12:13:02
England would have to be desparate to pick Barclay, if we had another number 10 he would not get into our team at the moment. Ross is so overated it is unbelievable.
Why he was taken to the Euros baffles me and he could not even get a game in that bad team.
He has never fulfilled his early promise, we should have sold him when he was flavour of the month but idiot Martinez decided to keep him.

Agree1 Disagree3

28 Sep 2016 12:33:26
''idiot Martinez decided to keep him. ''

Milo. . A snippet from the 'Express' on dodgy dealing managers (this is just for fun btw 🙃 )

''After managing several British clubs, he was allegedly fired by one for having “his fingers in the till”. Pagliara said he would get involved if “you understand that when we do deals I have to have a carrier bag with some cash”. ''

Did this mysterious guy have a penchant for brown shoes I wonder? 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - after the niasse deal who knows?..

28 Sep 2016 13:52:53
Jeeez, way to go milomj. You really know how to encourage and support the team.

I am not suprised Ross has a high percentage passing rate, how many times does he receive the ball from a foot away, pass it back, receive it again and pass it back again, sometimes he can touch the ball 4 times in the space of 10 seconds, without the ball travelling further than a few feet, that's not passing to me, that's just getting your stats up.

He needs dropping to the bench Friday, I am a fan of Ross, but if he starts, his first touch that goes astray will be jumped on by the whipping boys in the ground.

Take Ross out of the fireing line early doors, then use as a sub if needed to get some confidence back.

Why not revert to 442 and play a second striker and lose the AM for a change?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Sep 2016 15:51:14
Your right Baz. Stats can be manipulated and using these alone don't tell you anything.

I agree with taking out of the firing line for a bit and building his confidence and I'm eager to see what Ron will do with him.

I know the powers that be still belive in mushroom management approch when it comes to suporters (and hell does that need to change) but could we have a stright answer, at least on one thing, has the dock sight been purchased, simple, yes or no, please.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Sep 2016 08:38:11
Why? What difference would it make if we new or not. The only thing that would happen is open a can of worms as people would then want to know What does the stadium look like? How much will it cost? When will it open?

we are fans of a football club that play football. Our interest should be focused on the football side of things and let the business get on with the business side of things.

They will give news when there is real news to give.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i certainly want to know john, its about the club progressing and i want to be part of that mate..

28 Sep 2016 09:42:51
I'm with you there Ed. . Its part of the ethos it should be a given that we let the whole design thing be a part of being a Blue and look forward to it's fruition with pride anticipating something marvelous is about to happen to our beloved club 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think the same 247..

28 Sep 2016 11:57:41
I agree in that i want to know as much as you but I would rather be told when everything is a go go. I can't do another Kings Dock or Kirby.

I imagine this is the clubs thoughts as well. Imagine if we can't do a stadium at the docks now! It would spell disaster even if we could build it at Stoney Croft.

The increase in hatred on here alone would be even worse and more unbearable.

Agree1 Disagree2

28 Sep 2016 12:24:34
''hatred'' is a bit extreme, I think 'disappointed' would be the more accurate adjective in that case .

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2016 12:57:01
I think hatred is probably more adept. Have seen some of the things written about Kenwright/ Barkley on here? It's weird.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Sep 2016 13:02:58
As much as we would all like to know what is happening, we have to understand that we can't be privy to every single decision the board have to make. If things fell through with regards to the docks then imagine how some fans will react. There are still some that can't let the Kings dock and Kirkby site go, still use it as a yard stick to hit the board with. How many years later? Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - fair point spud..

28 Sep 2016 13:08:49
John try not to take the comments on BK and RB too much to heart mate, anyway if people didn't feel some kind of passion toward our club then that would be the more worrying!
