Congratulations to Shkodran Mustafi, who having been released by our narrow minded former manager, has gone on to star in Serie A with Sampdoria and just achieved his first Germany call up.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would not have harmed to keep hold of him and loan him out, must have clearly had talent if he is able to get in the Germany squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Narrow minded? Maybe he has improved a lot.Wasn't exactly pulling up trees was he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Narrow minded: 'having a biased or illiberal viewpoint; bigoted, intolerant, or prejudiced'

I wasn't sure if you were struggling with the definition Paul. Ed correct me if I'm wrong, the lad turned up late to training about a year into his contract? Didn't get near the first team to pull up any trees as a result. I would say that was a narrow minded viewpoint to take. And if you watch Serie A you will know he has hit the ground running. Hard to improve when you have nothing to improve on. You need the manager to give you a game. But hey, at least he kept Yeovil star Shane Duffy instead.

Hey Ed, you are not printing some of my posts.and it's not because I am not signing in. I can't get to the banter form without signing in.

Anyway, just to show I am not all gloom and despondency. My 10 reasons why it is better to be Blue than Red:
1. We have history.
2. We behave in a more dignified way.
3. Blue is just better. period.
4. We know how to suffer. I mean really suffer.
5. God is on our side.in a strange sort of way.
6. Alan Ball played for us.
7. When we do win things.it really means something to us.
8. We go to games.
9. We have class.
10. We make sure our kids carry on the great tradition through stories and song.

only just seen the england squad and all I can say is #hodgsonout, really? what kind of team is that, welbeck? defoe? where is danny ings, glen johnson and ashley cole? where is jon flanagan and curtis davies? and why take 3 left backs? its pointless, the midfield, milner is useless, cleverley, I wernt joking when I said he is the worst player I've ever seen on a football pitch, brett angell, bakayoko and koldrup were gods compared to this useless lump of s*te, where is barry, where is huddlestone?, he's taken four goalkeepers, why? its ONE game, greg dyke can moan all he wants about foreigners and no young talent, get a decent manager first, I swear to god if cleverley, milner or young are on the plane to brazil I will want us to fail, that man is a joke of a manager, not everton related ed but please post it, I expect england to finish third, hopefully fourth in the group stages, what a joke the england national team has become, never saw the point in national games tbh but now we know it doesn't matter about talent, its all about who you play for, I mean, tom cleverley? HAHA LOL!

Mike, you make me chuckle mate with the cleverly rants. I agree totally, he is pants.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree with hoping England fail but. My god Cleverly is useless. All I can assume is Cleverly is Hodgson's secret love child because he can't get in for footballing talent alone

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mike. Its about time we bit the bullet and do what germany did a few years ago, and that is discard the old and rotten wood and start to get the kids in.may lose some games but germany did and now look at them.our euro champ group is easy so the kids should be in for that so they get international experience

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree there dentie we should give the kids a chance after all there's nowt to lose and there is a wealth of talent to choose from

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Cleverly is in because he's moulded into the perfect England player, at club level he now has experience of losing when up against any half decent team which will be invaluable for England at major tournaments.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with giving the youngsters a chance but I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of the players in this squad are in for a test to see if they are suitable for Brazil. I wouldn't count Barry out yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it's unpatriotic, but the whole England thing gets right up my nose. I hate hypocrisy, & the site of the Man U fans in the pub spitting bile at Gerrard in an LFC shirt but cheering him for England & the LFC fans vice versa with Rooney makes me sick. I think this world cup is going to be a bit of a disaster, my main interest in it will be hoping that none of our lads get injured.
I love football & I really love Everton, but the England football team is just an annoying by-product!

IR(&K)IT

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally Tezza i've never seen any mancs in the pub spitting bile at anyone, where the hell do you live?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Paul, I forget sometimes that lots of you guys are in the city, (Liverpool that is, as opposed to Tromso where all the red noses are!). I live near Preston so we get loads of Man U & LFC "fans" in the pubs watching the games. That's where the hypocrisy that pees me off is. Saturday they'll be calling a player not fit to burn when he's playing for his club, & Wednesday, when he's playing for England, they're cheering him. Total t*ssers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Toffee. There are too many England fans who change their allegiance from one week to the next. I'm Everton and proud of the fact that when I'm watching England, I have absolutely no allegiance towards Gerrard, Johnson, Sturridge or Strerling.
Why would I be hypocritical in slagging them one week then supporting them the next week? Doesn't make sense to me.
I'm an Evertonian and that is all that matters. We come first and if England do well then fine but that is a secondary concern.
