hope everyones enjoying there time off over the holidays, what are we thinking for tomorrow? 3 at the back again or revert back with gana coming back in? i personally wouldn't change the team at all even richarlison on the bench for me as i could not choose a player who deserves to be dropped after that burnley game.

I've been thinking about what strikers we could go for in Jan. what about Morelos from Rangers? They only paid 1 mill for him so he could be relatively cheap.

Obviously there would be question marks on if he could do it in the Prem but at 22 and averaging just over 1 in 2 he could be worth a punt.

I guess I am on a roll so here's another opinion: We were leaking goals and dropping points until Mina got fit and slotted into the team. Then we had a couple of wins and draws where we did not concede. Then he rested/ dropped Mina and it went tits up. Mina came back into the team last game and we picked up again. I think Mina is a must and he needs someone to partner him with pace. I would try Mina and Holgate together.

Did you forget about the City game where Mina gifted City possession for their first goal.

Other than that Mina is ours and not a loanee, so would go along with playing Mina regular.

Mina starts every game. He and Keane should be our permanent pairing and let them settle together. They can both defend and can weigh in with a goal or two. In fact settle the entire back line. The more they work as a regular unit the tighter we will become. There will be errors like Mina at City but we will get away with a few too.

I do like Zouma, but he’s on loan and has said he’s looking forward to proving himself at Chelsea when he returns.

Yes he was to blame at Man City. But who was to blame for the other 26 goals we have conceded in just 19 games? I was sort of trying to make 2 points. firstly everyone seems obssessed with us getting a center forward when we are leaking goals at the back. We have actually been quite good on the goals for front. But whilst we leak goals, there is too much pressure on us to score 2 or 3 every game. So my second point was that we seemed to have sorted the conceding thing whenMina came into the team. excepting the Man City game. so I personally think he is number one in and actually would like to see him have a go with Holgate but yes accept him and Keane have done pretty well together.

I have not posted a while but thought I would slip one in for those people who still come on with the gloom and negative posts. It is true that we have a similar points tally as last season and that for all the money spent we are in a similar position. The big difference is in consistency. We were quite terrible for most of last season with only one or two decent performances. This season we seem to be blowing a bit hot and cold. One week we look fantastic and the next we are poor. All we need to do now is start putting a decent run together and for the manager to decide on his best team and formation. He still tinkers a bit but it is a big squad now so guess we need to shake things up now and again? But compared to last season this is sometimes champagne football.

{Ed025's Note - it is degsy, what we have to realize though is that this regime is in its infancy, it would be amazing luck for it all to click together this soon, we have a manager who has never had such a high profile club and a DOF who is new to the club as well as a host of new players, it will take time mate and those who thought it would be any different are naive to say the least..

Excellent post degsy mate and great reply from Ed 025.i don't buy into we only Burnley, Crystal Palace rubbish just ask Chelsea or Man City any team from the Premiership can beat each other there are no easy games, so let's all enjoy the ride we are on with Marcel and Marco we certainly don't want to go back to last years dross, Happy New Year all.

I just look at how we went about 5 games last season without registering a shot on target. This season we have had loads of chances, loads of goals but have conceded loads too. I can see we would improve with a center forward, but I honestly believe we need to tighten up more at the back first. I think we have only had 4 clean sheets all season? That is normally relegation type stats. but we are scoring so are getting some results. Much better that the boring dross we were watching last season. let's hope the manager can identify why we are conceding so many. cut a few out and bring in the right players to help us defend better. mainly at set pieces! If we can do that, we will do alright and climb that table further without talking about center forwards.
