Hi guys am a Rangers fan who saw the best of Naisy and who doesn't have a problem with him when he left but when he comes good use will have a superb wee player I can guarentee that {Ed007's Note - I've been telling them that since before Naismith even signed Rab, I always rated him higher than Jelavic.}

Believable3 Unbelievable4

There's been a few players who've been slated in their first season but have turned out to be okay in the end. Give him a chance to get fully fit in pre-season and play him in his preferred position and he'll come good.
Pretty Green

Agree0 Disagree0

But its not that he's bad it's that he is terrible! His first touch is awful, he has no pace, no skill and is not good enough for the Premier League, never mind a European chasing team like ourselves!

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to realise that he is coming off a serious knee injury, which can take 2yrs to really fully recover and find their form again, take a look at Jags as an example. Add to that, he is adjusting to a new side and country and he is playing out of position.

He hasn't set the place on fire like Jelavic, but this squad is small, and he does add to the squad, he has come up with some pretty important goals this season and has contributed to the side.

Would love to see him get a run in his preferred position, which is behind the striker, the lad has a knack of finding himself in the right place at the right time, and in the penalty box, that is a very, very good trait to have, I mean a certain Aussie thrived on that for years at Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the last comment, couldn't have worded it any better.

toffee jack

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you poeple mad? he plays with the attitude that he dosnt belong on the pitch and tends to hide in the games he's played.

hes one of the most negative attacking players I have ever seen and is pertrified of making mistakes, therefore all the good noises about him being someone who takes poeple on have never come to fruition

the injury is a poor excuse, it took whilsire 3 games he's been fit all season

Why do people get on Naismith's back? He get's played in the wrong position all of the time and he hasn't been given a chance to play in his right/strongest position. He should be given a chance there this Saturday. What do think ed? {Ed025's Note - i agree with that mike, but to be fair, he has not exactly lit any fires when he has played...but im not writing him off just yet mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Naisy just needs a fair crack of the whip. He's been played out of position and has never given a chance to recreate his rangers partnership with jelavic. Trust and it will happen.

It wouldn't matter where he played he can't do the basics ie trap a ball, pass a ball or even run with it. a professional player should be able to do these things. KK.

if moyes is to be given money in the summer, then I hope he stays. if not, then I believe it is time for him and us to part ways as I think he has taken us as far as he can with our budget. a change would be good for both. however given money, I still believe he is the right man for the job. ideal summer would be: keep baines and moyes. sell fellaini (i believe we can get 2 or 3 players as good as him for less), buy a striker, creative midfielder, pacey winger and another cb as heitinga will also probably leave. ideally I would like to see duffy play at cb instead of an aging distin (who I would still keep on the bench) and barkley given a chance but also would love to signings. and done early. if we have money left over, a new goalie wouldn't be bad either.
my ideal team next season
howard/new gk
coleman jagielka duffy/new cb baines

new winger/mirillas gibson new cm pienaar

barkley/mirillas
jelavic/new striker

subs
howard/new gk
hibbert/stones
distin
osman
barkley/kennedy
anichebe
new striker/jelavic

IMHO Moyes should stay. Who are we going to attract that's any bettet? Mr Clean

Agree0 Disagree0

MR Clean? We're does he manage, is he any good? Never heard of him personally!

What's up with keeping mucha? If he carries on the way he has the new goalie should be to replace Howard! He will be the weaker of the two!

Sell Fellaini 25m Heitinga 5m Gueye 1m=31m
Would release Mucha, Neville, and Hitzelberger.
Get RW Scott Sinclair 6m
CM Honda 10m
CM M. Diame 5m
CF Negredo 10m = 31m

There should be at least another 10m for a GK and CB, considering they were going to pay 14m for frei, plus there is extra tv money this year. That would be 6 in and 6 out
What would you say to that bit of dealing ED.

Team next season.
GK T. Howard
RB S. Coleman
LB L. Baines
CB New CB
CB P. Jagielka (capt)
CM M. Diame defensive
CM Honda attacking
RW S. Sinclair
LW S. Pienaar
CF K. Mirralas just behind striker
CF Negredo

Subs from
New GK J. Stones, T. Hibbert, S. Duffy, S. Distin, L. Garbutt, D. Gibson, L. Osman, R. Barkley B. Oviedo, S. Naismith, Kennedy, V. Anichebi, N. Jelavic, A. Vellios. Stronge 26 man squad.

Dero.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keisuke Honda would cost no where near £10m as his contract expires on 31/12/13. If we got him it would be for a cut-price fee of around £3-4m which would be a bargain considering his true value, if under contract long term, would be nearer £15m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mucha had a decent game vs city but let's be honest they weren't the best saves in the world. as jags said most of them were fairly routine. I like mucha and howard but reality says they are not that good. this season I can 100% howard has cost us more points this season than he has won us. but I love his dedication to a blue shirt. and like I said a new cb would be ok but I would really love moyes or whoever the new manager is to give duffy a go.

So, who will be mixing it up with the bad boys from Stoke on saturday?

A dilema for Moyes as in does he bring in his trusted warriors ( Neville and Naismith ) or mix it up a bit with a few reasonably untried players who, maybe deserve a chance.

You know what you`re going to get when playing Stoke, so does he try and match them or outplay them? Regardless of what people say about the way Stoke play, every team has to try and beat them somehow, someway. They remind me a bit of the old Wimbledon ( Route 1 ) team of the 80`s.

Personally, i`d like to see Oviedo in the starting 11, if he`s fully fit after the international. Think his pace could cause Stoke problems down the left. So him in to replace Pienaar.

Centre midfield and right wing are tricky, if N`Zonzi has a good day then he`ll walk right through Osman and Gibson, so maybe throw Hitz in to play just in front of the back four. On the right, i`d stick Mirallas, with Gibson covering Coleman when Mirallas drifted inside ( Coleman might have a tricky one if Etherington is playing and is left on his own to cover the right side )

Mucha - Coleman, Heitinga, Distin, Baines - Mirallas, Gibson, Hitz, Osman, Oviedo - Jelavic

I would have picked Vic up front but can`t see him getting much from the Stoke defence, maybe bring him on for the last 30 along with Barkley or Naismith to play behind the striker.

Oh, and Neville to do a lot of clapping and pointing from the sidelines.

See, this armchair footy manager lark is easy?

Whats our name?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

The way to beat Stoke is to keep the ball in play as much as possible which will deny them throw ins, corners and free kicks easier said than done mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we put in a shift like we did against city its no problem.
David Watts

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo, anichebe is great when he's up against a defense he can bully. this will not be the case on saturday/

2 minds about Neville. Seen he's given the sign he might move on. Footballing perspective for us i'm happy to hear it but wouldn't have minded him being a player coach for next season or 2. Think we would miss having him around.
Hank

Believable2 Unbelievable2

The sooner he's out of the first team the better. He might be a good motivator and a nice bloke but his playing days are well behind him. Let him drop down a league or two, say bury or tranmere, become their senior pro, do his coaching badges and have a go at managing at that level then assess his managerial skills and maybe take him back in some capacity.
Smithers-Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody raves about Neville's experience being invaluable, if its that good why isn't he a better player. I very rarely see him produce a forward decisive pass, his crossing isn't great either so unless its his positional play I just don't get it. Every time he starts its like playing with 10 men.

david moyes is set to leave everton in the summer so who would you like to replace him I think it should be some one young and I think neil lennon is a great choice plays attacking football has did really well at celtic with little to no money got them to the last 16 of the champions league in the 2nd hardest group state who you think should take over from moyes

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Definitely not Lennon. That league is so poor even Moyes could win it. Martin O' Neill won that league and he's a habitual loser.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes would make a mess of Celtic mark my words.

Agree0 Disagree0

No to Lennon. I don't trust putting forward anyone realistic abroad. Don't want Martinez, don't want di matteo, don't want Hughes. I want nothing to do with anything like a Lambert, Bruce, Keane or Reid. I def don't want Steve Round and i'd be v cautious going for a Neville, Stubbs, Weir or Ferguson. Karl Robinson of MK Dons is talented but it's probs too soon. For me leaves Gus Poyet. Was a classy player, knows the prem, ambitious, has Brighton playing a decnt style of football. Multi lingual, Would know the Spanish & south American market.

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw an identical post to this on the Sunderland banter page although Moyes' names was replaced with Martin O'Neil's. Either this is a Mackem on the wind up and they are trying to unsettle some blues thinking they have a chance of landing Moyes or someone is just regurgitating what they've seen on the Sunderland pages.

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a mag, and I really don't think its fair for moyes to leave you, especially for sunderland which would be a massive step down, and you should feel cheated on. I hope you keep moyes though, because Everton fans are some of the best I know and deserve top 6 every season.

Just a thought if felli did leave for chelsea. Would you take lukaku plus cash or just the cash to make different signings?

bluepaddy

Believable2 Unbelievable1

How much would Chelsea want for Lukaku? They paid about £18 million, so presumably they would want around that much.

How much is Fellaini rated at? I'd say about £22 million.

So if the choice was either £22 million; or Lukaku and £4 million, I'd take the cash.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea may want close to what they bought for lukacu but they won't get close to it.

You honestly will not get that kind of money for a player your farming out on loan. It shows that you value the player less than your first 16.

They'll be lucky to get double figures for him. Especially as his loan club is WBA.

Toffee ace
I'll go for 15 mill plus lukacu {Ed002's Note - Lukaku went on loan to get experience. He will return in the summer to be assessed by the new manager and coaching staff. There is no plan to sell him at this time.}

swap deals are so commonplace aren't they? now when was our last one?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can`t see chelsea considering letting him go permanently.

He`s 19, a bit raw, needed the experience of playing in the EPL but has shown what a beast of a player he could become.

IF chelsea did come in for Fellaini and Lukaku was part of the deal, i`d run down Dale Street wearing a rs top with my hairy bum sticking out.

Cynical Blue. {Ed025's Note - lets hope we dont sign him then mate :)..

Just looking out of the window, as you do, and it suddenly came to me. Why Steven Naismith. What is he for what does he do. I know he is energetic and what have you, but the end product is slight. As an impact sub he has no real impact. Am I missing something?. Possibly needs to be more central, just don't know. Thoughts
BlueJ

Believable1 Unbelievable1

The answer is quite simple. We got him because he was free. Do you really think he would be here if we would've had to have paid for him. He is completely hopeless, overawed, a waste of wages, useless, and should be the first player to be sold in June. A nothing player. A career in the championship/League 1 beckons, or worse still, back to the SPL.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not his biggest fan, but the lad is being played out of position. Naismith on the wings does not work, he doesn't really have the pace, nor the ability to beat his defenders to make a good winger.

He is an attacking midfielder, he always finds himself in good spaces, much like Cahill used to do. Unfortunately there is no chance of him playing that position with Fellaini here, so he has to make do.

For me, he is a decent option for the squad, as for being an impact sub, well he came on against Man City and won the ball off the City player which led to Jelavic's goal, so he does have some worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Needs to be more championship

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

I admire his honesty and endeavour, and by all accounts he's a good bloke. But he simply doesn't have any footballing ability whatsoever and what Moyes sees in him I'll never know. Championship level at best and if we can get a fee for him, however nominal, I'd snatch their hands off. Waste of wages and a blue shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with most of the replies. Admire his effort but very poor footballer. I've noticed he is quite good in the air but limited skill and pace. Think he is keeping Barkley off the pitch too. If we are playing people out of position on the right I'd sooner give him the chance. Should get what we can for him in June.
Hank

Agree0 Disagree0

He was only "free" because Everton ripped off Rangers. Not all clubs took advantage of their situation, so you deserve to be disappointed. {Ed025's Note - go back to your own site loser..
